A fun read that many people can identify with. Being plus size and not happy with my size, you learn to be happy with what's inside. Loved the friendship that Sunny had with her recent divorced friends, wonderful support for each other. The one thing that I didn't like that she was seeing two guys at the same time, even though I'm happy with her final decision. A new author for me.

3.5 ⭐️ A fun read with a strong, entrepreneur fighting for size inclusivity for swimwear. Not an easy thing to do. Throw in a love triangle (slight love square), and there will be a lot of guessing what will happen.
Sunny is newly divorced and craving passion in her life. She has a new desire for her blog and the company for size inclusive swimwear after an embarrassing few minutes in the dressing room. Sunny is on a mission to love herself and get back out there. Dating proves to be fun, disappointing, and hard. Dennis is the sweetest guy she’s met so far and a dog lover. Ted is a handsome businessman with all the chemistry and knowledge to help her business. What Sunny really doesn’t expect is her ex looking to reconnect. With all these options, who will she choose? Will she hold true to herself and her brands mission?
Thank you to NetGalley, Celadon Books, and the author for the advanced reader copy.

Review Title & Vibes:
{ORDER UP} in truth this book has nothing to do with eggs or food orders and everything to do with body acceptance over body positivity. It was a total delight to journey with Sunny and her besties. To feel the joy and heartache. To watch the romance and self acceptance blossom. Sunny’s career goal is to create fashionable swimsuits in extended sizes - to be offered IN STORES! Just yes! I know it’s fiction, but reality could use more Sunnys!
Although I’m in no way a fashionista - I loved all the brand and style talk! The New York setting, cute pups, villainous ex, swoony silver fox, and charming love interest kept my attention locked in. I loved the newsletter format used to engage customers and journal Sunny’s love life.
Audio Notes:
I loved this audiobook! It was my performance by Yael, and although it’s not listed - the dedication was READ BY THE AUTHOR. The pacing and accents were wonderful! Each character was distinct and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this audiobook.

I am a long time Katie Sturino fan, and was excited to read this one. I was surprised and a little disappointed to discover there was a ghost writer involved! Ultimately, the story just fell kind of flat for me and it wasn't my favorite, and that's okay. I enjoyed it and it makes for an easy summer read.

Sunny is a likable, witty recently divorced, successful businesswoman. She and her two divorced friends plan a divorcation. Sunny ventures out to find the perfect swimsuit but she’s not a sample size and cannot find a suit that fits or is fashionable. Sunny’s journey takes the reader through the stages of her new single life, dating again after being in a long term relationship, returning to her old blog, starting a new business for women struggling to find swim wear for their body type and embracing her own body. As I read this book I laughed and I smiled often but also felt sad for Sunny and the many others that grapple with their own body issues. Overall an enjoyable read and an uplifting read. This ARC was provided by Celadon Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Great debut! I loved the inner dialogue the main character has with herself throughout the story and I was definitely cheering her on until the end. I loved the storyline the author chose and the encouragement throughout the book to be the best version of you that you can be and to not get hung up on opinions of others. I thought Sturino conveyed a nice understanding of the struggles that women often face with several issue including body image, dieting, success in the professional arena. I was surprised when the link drawn for extended sizing settled on 12-14. As a curvy woman, I would definitely not see that as the "extended" mark where finding outfits/swimwear is more difficult. So that part felt unrealistic to me and I also understood what she was hoping our take-away would be. All in all a fun story and I did love the ending!
Special thanks to Celedon Books and Netgalley for my copy; all opinions are my own.

Thank you to the publisher for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I loved the main character Sunny in this book. I had to also love that she grew up in Wisconsin. She is recently divorced after a very short marriage and is getting back in the dating scene while dealing with some additional weight she has gained. I loved her "body acceptance" view versus body positivity. Sunny is so driven with her PR company and starting a size inclusive swim suit company. I cheered her on throughout the entire book and I for sure had a favorite of the men she was dating.
Loved this one and will for sure read more by Katie Sturino.

I highly recommend this book - fans of Sex in the City will be hooked in the first 25 pages.
Sunny is likeable and I found myself rooting for her while she stumbles thru bouncing back from divorce and searching for new love.

I am familiar with Katie Sturino's body positivity work and I followed her for a while on social media, so I was thrilled to see she had written a book. A romance book written by a body positivity influencer was right up my alley! Unfortunately, it took me a long time to get into the groove with Sunny and her date-seeking, swimsuit making story. The date-seeking... oh boy. So many thoughts. I'm all for enjoying sex but this felt like sex just because she could. The swimsuit making... I was not prepared to be so triggered by the fitting room experience at the beginning of this book. Also the not-so-cleverly disguised jabs from her mother, and the voice of her ex-husband took me into low self-esteem mode more than once. All of it was just too much for me. Once she meets Dennis and Ted I finally found my interest. However, there was a lot of NYC detail I had to skim over as it felt like it was in there in order to make sure the reader KNEW that Sunny was in NYC. Yes, we know. WE KNOW. But I digress. By the time the book wraps up and Sunny learns some much needed AHA information about herself I will say that I ended up enjoying the book. Did I find it to be completely unbelievable? Pretty much, but I liked where the book ended, and I especially liked how Sunny felt about herself in the end. 2.75 stars rounded up to 3.
Thank you NetGalley and Celadon Books for the DRC in exchange for my honest review.

I tried for a over a month to get into this book, but it just didn't grip me :/ I really wanted to love it and sink into it, unfortunately the voice just wasn't for me. Hoping others love it.

thank you to netgalley for the e-arc. i did not like this book at all, especially after learning it was written by a ghostwriter that gets zero credit on or off the page. the FMC was whiny and childish. also, for a ghostwriter, the writing style was atrocious.

This was a big miss for me. I could not get into it at all and did not enjoy the narrator's voice. I was further put off when I read an interview with the author in which she unabashedly talked about hiring someone to more or less write it for her, just as a way to build her "brand." If this is the direction fiction is heading--in the era of influencers dominating everything--I am not all for it.

This was a breathe of fresh air. How many times have I cried in a changing room because they didn't have any clothes to fit me. Sunny is on a path to rediscover herself and gain her confidence back. This was an adorable story with a little bit of love and whole lot of humor. Love Mr. Postman! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
My thanks to the author, Celadon Books, and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a pleasant surprise. I flew through it in a couple days! I would definitely recommend. I rate it at 4.5 stars, but for Netgalley 4 stars.
Sunny is recently divorced and finding herself along with her three friends that are also recently divorced. When she goes shopping to find a swimsuit for their upcoming vacation she finds herself having a dressing room meltdown. Nothing fits right and while she can blame the extra 10lbs she’s gained since the divorce she knows it’s because there are no quality suits for plus sized women. On top of that her brother is getting married in six months and she needs a date.
She gets an idea to take a plain suit to her tailor and see if she can do some nip and tuck damage control. The end result from her vision and her tailors hands is amazing.
While on vacation she gets an idea to create her own swim line.
In the meantime she starts dating and when she finds herself stuck between two men she has some important decisions to make.

Unfortunately I had to DNF @35%. I am not entirely sure why, but I just couldn’t stay engaged with this one. I even gave the audiobook a try, yet it still failed to capture my attention.

This was a great Chick Lit book! I really enjoyed the main character Sunny & all of her adventures. She was witty, honest, & relatable. I love that she was focused on improving herself, following her dreams, investing in herself & her friendships. There was a fun romance theme like any Rom Com, but her main focus was on herself which was refreshing. Great read for any fans of women's lit. I found this book to be very entertaining!

The upside of Sunny's recent divorce is she has found her people. While on her "divorcation" with her new besties they convince her to start her own bathing suit line after Sunny had a breakdown in the dressing room trying to find a new one and creating her own instead. While maintaining her PR empire and starting a new business she vows to herself she will not go to her brother's wedding solo, so the dating adventures begin.
I enjoyed reading Sunny's story and was rooting for her the whole way through. She is a strong, confident female main character and a great role model for all woman no matter their size.
Thanks NetGalley for this eARC!

This is a true testament of what can be accomplished with a motivated entrepreneur and a great business idea. Sunny saw a need for fashionable plus-sized swimwear and ran with it. I loved the sections about the business and how she came up with the concept and grew the idea. The use of social media to get the word out worked well for the business but I’ve never been a fan of people getting overly personal on their blogs at the expense of others. Otherwise, this was an interesting read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Celadon Books for the opportunity to read Sunny Side Up by Katie Sturino, out June 24, 2025.
Sunny Greene is freshly divorced, newly single, and ready to reinvent herself—starting with launching an inclusive swimwear line. Between awkward dating adventures, heart-to-hearts with friends, and navigating her own self-image, Sunny’s journey is equal parts funny, awkward, and heartwarming.
I loved the body-positive message and Sunny’s quirky, relatable voice, but the pacing lagged for me at times and the plot felt a bit thin in places. Still, it’s a bright, feel-good read perfect for fans of rom-coms with plenty of heart.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

It admittedly took me a little while to read this book and even longer to digest how I felt about it and write this review. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this book but it took me two times to really get into it. The reason behind this is that it's written like a 90's self-hate book for fat people. As somebody who has struggled with their weight and, because of that, their self-worth their whole life, I understand where the author is coming from; however, I felt the self flagellation done by the FMC was better suited to a different time. In 2025 when there has already been a whole body positivity movement and the average women's clothing size in the US is a 16-18, all of the talk around sizes felt grossly exaggerated and I found it kind of annoying. The references to pop culture that are made are also strongly rooted in 2003. there are some good points made about body image and the way the world perceives bigger people. I just think it could have been presented a little more subtly for a stronger impact, rather than reading like a partial self-help book.
Now, all that being said, the actual story is VERY cute. The characters are delightful and following Sunny as she navigated post-divorce life from an emotionally abusive jerk, while finding joy through friends and dating was a lot of fun. The rich female friendships really help make this book not all about the men, even through her dating journey, and I really found the relationships balanced and fun to read about.
So, for me, while I did relate to the body image stuff, I found the amount it was talked about in relation to the actual story to be a bit off-putting, but the story itself and the writing did make up for it for me once I was able to push through (after about chapter 10 it got less overwhelmingly preachy). I overall really enjoyed it and would recommend it to friends.
