From body-acceptance advocate and MEGABABE founder Katie Sturino comes a heartwarming and hilarious debut novel for fans for Emily Henry and Sex and the City
Sunny Greene is thirty-five, recently divorced, facing the looming prospect of going solo to her little brother’s wedding, and currently trying to find anything plus-sized in the Bergdorf Goodman swimsuit department that doesn’t make her want to cry. It’s not going well. But isn’t rock bottom the perfect place to start a climb?
She decides it’s now or never. Sunny has her PR empire, her gorgeous Chelsea apartment, her two dogs, and her loyal best friends. Maybe it's time to just love her body and accept herself for who she is. With a new commitment to confidence, her journey begins. Who says a plus-sized divorcee can’t put herself first, feel beautiful, and date up a storm?
Of course things are never straightforward in the dating world. Is fate knocking at her door with Dennis, the charming and down-to-earth mailman, or should she be with Ted, the business tycoon who seems ready to make her size-inclusive swimsuit brand a reality? And what should she do about her ex, who shows up unexpectedly, eager to reconnect?
With the same candor and confidence her followers love, Sturino brings us Sunny Greene, a Carrie Bradshaw for the next generation, and her journey through the trials and triumphs of dating, friendship, and finding yourself.
I absolutely loved this book! Written with humor and heart, it had me hooked from start to finish. Sunny is such a refreshing, relatable main character, and it was wonderful to see a plus-size heroine owning her story with confidence. The mix of friendship, dating mishaps, and self-discovery made for an entertaining and uplifting read. I don’t want to give anything away—you’ll just have to read it for yourself!

This book takes me back to the days where I was obsessed with "Bridget Jones Diary" and books like "Good in Bed" by Jennifer Weiner but this one is an updated, next gen version and I thought it was fantastic! I absolutely loved Sunny and her aspirations and I was so happy to see some of her dreams come to life. I liked her sassy attitude and love for life despite some struggles and setbacks. I think Sunny is a perfectly relatable character and I think I'll be seeing this book pop up on many "must read" lists.
Thank you NetGalley and William Morrow for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun read. Perfect beach read with the deeper message surrounding body positivity. It was Project Runway meets Sex and the City. I loved all the characters and was rooting for Sunny from the get go! Thank you to NetGalley and Celadon Books for the ARC!

Sunny Side Up by Katie Sturino is an empowering memoir that encourages self-acceptance and body positivity. Through witty anecdotes and personal insights, Sturino shares her journey of overcoming societal pressures and embracing her true self. Her authentic, relatable voice makes the book both uplifting and impactful, offering inspiration for living confidently and joyfully. A must-read for those seeking empowerment and self-love.

The most delightful, fun, engaging and heartfelt rom-com I have read in forever. Sunny is so sunny and relatable. She’s a plus sized queen just trying to find her place in life and be comfortable in her body, just like me and like so many others. This book will hit you in all of the feels and keep you entertained until the very last page. I sincerely hope Katie Sturino has many books in her future.

Katie Sturino’s novel, Sunny Side Up, is a feel-good story about self-love and confidence. It centers around Sunny Greene, a thirty-five-year-old PR pro who’s just gotten divorced and is ready to take charge of her life.
Right from the start, when Sunny struggles to find a swimsuit that doesn’t make her upset, you can really relate to the whole body image thing. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she decides to embrace who she is and go after happiness, no matter what society thinks about plus-sized women dating.
The book really nails the dynamics of modern relationships, featuring characters like the charming mailman Dennis and her complicated ex-husband. But what makes Sunny Side Up special is its focus on friendship, career goals, and enjoying life outside of romance.
Sunny’s voice is funny and real, making her journey super relatable. If you love Sex and the City or Bridget Jones’s Diary, you’ll definitely root for Sunny as she learns to love herself and live life on her own terms.

Sunny Side Up is the story of Sunny who is living big in New York with a successful PR company but is also struggling to get over her recent divorce and with self confidence. After hitting a new low while trying on swimsuits for an upcoming girls trip she works to pull herself back up.
This book is fun and fast paced. We join Sunny as she runs her successful company and works on starting a new venture, while also enjoying nights out with her girlfriends and as she reenters the dating world. She has her ups and downs, but overall is a strong successful woman who despite it all still struggles with issues many women face. I loved her funny and supportive family and close friends, as well as the New York setting. I was less interested in the dating app mishaps but understand that was a part of her journey.
Though I didn’t feel I connected with the love story, I did enjoy the book overall. With its focus on body positivity, fashion, Substack, and the glamor of life in New York I’m sure this will be a hit for many readers.
Thank you to the publisher Celadon Books, author Katie Sturino, and NetGalley for the gifted digital ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Katie Sturino’s Sunny Side Up is an excellent coming-into-oneself romance with a fabulous cast of uplifting relationships.
I was hooked from the beginning and found myself vested in Sunny’s choices (No! Don’t do it!!!) and, though I thought I could see what was coming, surprised by some twists.
I definitely recommend this quick read! 4.5/5 stars

This is a good look at finding yourself after going through a divorce.
A sunny story.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

this was a good book! I love it when in a book they get a serious wake up call moment and they look around their "ideal" life and wonder if that is really what they actually wanted. This was a well written story, I liked it a lot!
Thank you to NetGalley, to the author, and to the publisher for this complimentary ARC in exchange for my honest review!!!

I really connected with this one, and I think many readers will see their struggles and wins in Sunny and her friends. Is it very millennial-coded? Yes, but I'm a millennial, baby, no denying it!! This is a pure serotonin-booster of a book as we follow Sunny through her personal and professional struggles post-divorce. It's certainly an easy read (complimentary), and one that's perfect for summer.
Also, I'm a longtime Megababe customer, and I love seeing creative people in other fields bring their talents to writing. Congrats to Katie Sturino!

Super excited about this because of the author but ended up really wanting to like it more than I did. I liked the characters and the situation but something was missing. There was also a lot of fashion industry talk I didn't get and a few cultural references as well. Overall fun.

I loved this book so much. If you’ve ever struggled with being insecure about your body, you will love this book too. It was also wonderful that this book focused on the positive side of female friendships and how important they are. This book is the perfect summer read with the best ending. I can’t wait to recommend it and will be thinking about it long after it ended.

Thank you NetGalley and Celadon Books for my ARC. I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved bopping into this wonderful, body-positive (or body-accepting? I liked that nuance she introduced) story by Katie Sturino. She is unquestionably a voice we need more of and I immediately turned on notifications for her IG posts. I love what she has to say!
Someone described this as a flavor of SATC and that felt like a good comp for the style of the story (though main character led vs an ensemble). It was like a virtual trip to NYC and I really enjoyed the realistic portrayal of life there — honest and of course, sometimes glamorous.
This has a unique storytelling style and I think it would work really well as a TV show, but I had a harder time getting sucked in as a book. It definitely feels unique and I felt really uplifted at the end.

One of the most poignant lines in.the book that really struck me was "I let myself to be seen." Despite her tremendously successful businesses and a loving and supportive family and friend group, Sunny continuously berated herself as too big and unlovable due to her weight gain and divorce. She never felt good enough. Subsequently, she believed finding a date to her brother's wedding would bring herself and subsequent confidence back. That was further from the truth. It was as she once she truly looked at herself did she realize that she was incredible just the way she was. Yes, Dennis and Ted made her feel special but she knew that in her experience with her weight, that she could make others feel as special and beautiful that she was herself. Divorce didn't define her as from that, she found lifelong friends in.Noor and Brooke. Weight is not who.she is and which is why she launched a swimsuit line catering to the plus size community that would preclude a woman crying in a dressing room because she felt ugly. It was so successful that it wss featured in.the NYT. Most importantly, in.exposing herself and became vulnerable as evidenced by her newsletter, she fell in.love with a man who made her feel alive and deserved love and happiness. A truly heartwarming and inspiring book.

With its #girlboss MC and body positive take on SATC, Sunny Side Up is giving major millennial vibes. The story follows Sunny and her friends as they navigate finding love after divorce, launching a new, inclusive swimwear company, and exploring their sexual selves all while keeping up their tight-knit group. I think it's a specific (slightly dated) niche, but readers who are inclined towards that kind of material will love this feel-good, motivational book.

I have been following Katie Sturino for a long time and am a huge fan of her brand, MegaBabe. For those of you that follow her on social media, this fiction book is definitely semi autobiographical as Sunny goes through many of the same things that Katie speaks about on Instagram. I loved the romance story in this book and I think this won't only resonate with people who are struggling through dating on the apps, but also those who are looking for more representation. Body positivity is a huge theme in this book as it is in Katie's own brands and content. Definitely worth the read and it will be the perfect vacation read this summer!

This book was a delight! I was immediately pulled in to this book and enjoyed it all the way through. The book transports you to NYC and takes you through Sunny’s personal and professional life through laugh out loud and meaningful experiences.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love Katie Sturino any more, she goes and writes this amazing serotonin-boost of a book! I loved Sunny, her adventures, and all of the characters in her life. I found myself not wanting to put the book down and then simultaneously not wanting to pick it back up again because I didn’t want it to end. Just as all plus sized women deserve amazing fashion choices, so too do we deserve to see ourselves reflected in the popular culture that we consume. Bravo to Sturino for doing so much to facilitate both in our lives, and making the journey so fun to boot!

This was a light and easy read, very well written. I found the body image messages, a little over-the-top, and too heavy handed. I was looking for some kind of deeper meaning to Sunny’s story and feel like I didn’t receive that.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher, for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
