As a plus sized girl from wisconsin, this book immediately spoke to me. And knowing that I use Katie’s products already made me an Insta-fan. Sunny Side up speaks to the curvy girls, or the girls who have always felt uncomfortable in their own skin and aims to make us feel comfortable in our skin. It shows us we are not alone. Sunny Side Up is an excellent novel that speaks to a persons soul and has a goal to emphasize that authenticity is more important that your size. Being who you are is more meaningful than what you look like. Solid story here! Would recommend it no doubt. Thanks NetGalley!!

Sunny Greene is a successful entrepreneur, newly divorced, and a “plus-sized” woman living in NYC. While Sunny has tried to maintain her (sunny) attitude about size positivity, sometimes the world conspires against her and she falls back into brutal self criticism and lack of confidence. Her husband of 3 months and boyfriend of 6 years is a cheating, entitled, self-centered creep. He used Sunny’s talents to become a successful podcaster while subtly and overtly demeaning her and kind of gaslighting her to believe that she’s lucky to have a man in her life given her size. Raw from her divorce, she meets 2 other recently divorced women…they bond, support each other and become best friends. While the 3 women are on a “divorcation”, Sunny decides that she, and women like her, deserve to feel beautiful and comfortable in their swim suits. In addition to her successful PR firm, she envisions a line of XS-3X suits beautifully made with luxury fabrics. At the same time, Sunny embarks on a search for a plus one to her brother’s wedding in a few months. She internet dates for a bit and hooks up with good, bad and really bad guys. She also starts to have feeling for her mailman who’s burly, rugged and sexy AND starts a torrid affair with the older investment banker who gives her seed money to start her swimwear line. Will she find a date for her brother’s wedding, will she find love and great sex with one of these 2 men? This fun, charming and affirming book will answer…

I had to DNF this one around the 40%mark. I wasn’t lying the story and couldn’t relate to any of the characters

Overall I enjoyed this book and as an average size female, I definitely appreciated reading from the point of view of a plus size woman. This was a fun read although I really couldn't relate very well with the main characters and the romance just didn't sizzle, imo. Thanks to Celadon Books and NetGalley for an advance copy.

Sunny Side Up was a great empowering story that has humor and a story many women can relate to. Quick, delightful read! Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!

I have such mixed feelings on this book! I have followed Katie for years and love her messaging on body acceptance and I think it’s good that people will be exposed to the experience of plus sized women when reading this book. For me personally, as someone who has lived a lot of the same experiences described, it was a little hard to read and hit a little too close to home at times. I’m still glad this book is in the world and hope it’s a big success.

This one just didn't work for me. I found it kind of repetitive and couldn't really get behind any of the characters. I applaud what the author is trying to do with advocating for body positivity and having a larger woman as the main character of a romance. The storyline just fell flat for me.

What a delightful, empowering and funny rom com!
Sunny is my hero-a strong, independent New Yorker navigating her life after a divorce with new friends, co-workers and men who give her a fresh start. If you loved Sex and the City and Brigette Jones you will love this fashion forward comedy of acceptance and loving yourself no matter what size you are.
Thank you to NetGalley and Celadon Books for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sunny Side Up was a fast paced and easy read. While I wasn't always Sunny's biggest fan, I do feel like her inner monologue was almost awkwardly realistic in a way that we don't always get from a character. It was a breeze to read with a cast full of interesting and dverse characters. My main complaint is that everything seemed a little too easy in a sense for Sunny...I mean how many "lucky" breaks does one person get? No friends left...all of a sudden you make two completely amazing and perfectly suited friends for life? Already have one succesful business and just happen to have the resources to start another within a short time period? Recently divorced and practically inundated with men? I don't know. Maybe it's just my current mindset, but there were a lot of things that just seemed so conveniently perfect for Sunny.

Sunny side up is refreshing, has a fantastic, body inclusive main character that has purpose and her own business (LOVE THAT)and has a fun and funny personality. Her exploits in dating were entertaining and the building of the swim line was fascinating as well. Overall 4/5 stars. Would definitely recommend!

Only cons, felt a little short and a little rushed at times. Loved the storyline though and all the characters!

I loved this book! Sunny is the female hero we didn't know we needed.

Sunny is 35, recently divorced and while trying on swimsuits for an upcoming divorcation with her two best friends, she has a melt down when nothing fits. As a woman, you know, we have all been there. So she decides to take matters in her own hands and with the help of her assistant and tailor, they launch a new swimsuit company made for larger women.

All the while she is also running a successful company, trying to get back into the dating world and her brother's upcoming wedding.

She is torn between two love interests, SilverFox who is helping her with her new swimsuit company and Mr Postman, who seems to find her at her worst. Her ex-husband also makes an appearance.

I love the easy flow of the book and this will be the perfect beach read of he summer.

Sex and the City, but give it body positivity! It’s about time we gave that genre a new superhero. Sunny has been very successful in her career, but she is facing a new life after her marriage fails. Join her as she rebuilds herself, instead of crumbling, and makes her own destiny. Book clubs everywhere will LOVE this.

This book started out slow for me but then quickly became a refreshing read about a woman who after going through a difficult time in her life could have been angry and given up. Instead she chose to use her experiences as a plus-sized divorcee to create something more for not only herself, but the strong community around her as well.

Sunny is recently single and trying to find her way in her new life. She seemed to lose a piece of herself the last few years as she tried to have a happy relationship with a husband who put himself before her in every way. In an effort to prove to her family and friends that she is doing well, she puts it upon herself to find a date to her brother’s wedding in a few months and then documents her adventures.

This is a fabulous story about love, friendships, and the community you build. It’s about learning to love and appreciate yourself for who you are and not simply your dress size. The writer explains the situations with such real feeling that you start to think you actually know the characters. And she weaves delightful humor throughout. I immediately looked up the author and started following her on social media!

Thank you to NetGalley, celadon books, and the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I didn’t love this one. A little too heavy on the ‘I’ll love myself in spite of being fat’ vibe for me. While I’m in favor of body positivity, I feel like the emphasis should be just being worthy of love and it not needing to be because of or in spite of anything. It just feels a bit patronizing.

I rated this 3.5 stars. This was such a fun twist on your typical rom-com and I loved every second of it.

Sunny is a newly divorced, ceo, plus sized woman trying to figure her life (and herself) out after said divorce. With her brother’s wedding on the horizon she sets out to find a plus one to prove to herself and others that she’s moved on. It has femal friendships, falling in love with yourself, dating, and all the awkwardness with family that comes after a divorce.

I loved the idea of body acceptance over body positivity and that was my favorite thing about this book. I also loved the sunny side up newsletter and truly wish this was a real thing. I loved the female friendships and the first wives club.

There were some things i didn’t love like how sunny acted in a certain scene in her apartment (best way I can say it without spoiling it) it just felt odd and not necessary. There were other small things that I didn’t particularly like but for the most part I loved it and thought it was such a different vibe than i’m used to!

3.5 stars

This book had me on a rollercoaster of feelings toward it. There are many parts I liked about it, especially the representation as a plus side person (as someone who is a plus size person). I loved how she felt confident in herself in the way she dressed and often presented herself. But, I had a hard time throughout the book really connecting to her character, especially in the middle of the book. I felt like during parts of the book, she was too confident in her wanting to "play the field" and not tell the two men about the other. I had a hard time with that part of the story, knowing she would end up with one of them (I had been rooting for Dennis the whole time!). In the end, I did enjoy the transformation she went through and all the choices she made from that. Once she realized her mistake at the end of the launch party, that is when I truly felt more connected to the story and felt Sunny begin to change for the better. I think this is a great book for readers who want to see someone go through change (especially when they may not look like what is considered "typical").

Sunny Side Up was a fun, beach-read romance about Sunny Greene and her life in New York City. Post-divorce, Sunny tries to jump back into the dating pool in an attempt to find a date before her brother's upcoming wedding. Chaos ensues. Sunny attempts to juggle her girlfriend group, her family, her successful PR business and her dating life. Everything was a little too easy with no real conflict, but this was an enjoyable read and I flew through it.
