What a fun reflection and and celebration of BBQ backyard celebrations.

The introduction has a very detailed history about Cornhole, which was lovely. I had no idea how detailed and rich the history of the BBQ staple game is within US culture.

The book is filled with classic American recipes for a gathering, like Deviled Eggs, stuffed peppers, and quesadillas. It's a great collection of recipes that feel familiar, yet has a new twist that anyone can find delightful.

The first recipe I tried was the Atomic Buffalo Turds, which I'm so sad I've never had before. It was easy to follow, easy to make, and easy to eat...maybe too easy.

A few of the recipes called for pre-packaged food, which I am not a big fan of. I'd rather use fresher ingredients rather than store bought mixes. That being said, there was an element that made a few of the recipes more simple, with recipes calling for "your favorite BBQ sauce", which allows for a really great customization for the recipes.

The recipes are in imperial/volume measurements, which will make it difficult for any home chefs that use metric measurements.

It is barbecue season and I am so excited to try some of these recipes out. They all look amazing and they all have pictures! I loved that this is apparently a collaborative effort, with certain recipes giving credit to people all over the country. The recipes also include time, servings, and helpful bits of information like gluten-free, vegetarian, etc. Overall, a great book for anyone planning an outdoor party this summer.

A huge thank you to Netgalley and Fox Chapel for allowing me to read this cookbook early in exchange for an honest review.

This cookbook was fun to look through!
It definitely leans more backyard BBQ than “cornhole-specific,” but I appreciated the easy-to-make party food and the casual vibe. The intro gives a quick explanation of cornhole (which was cute), and the recipes themselves are simple and beginner-friendly.
The cornbread slabs in particular looked mouth-watering!

That said, if you’re looking for something super creative or packed with fresh ideas, this might feel a little basic. For that reason, I'm only giving it 3 stars as the recipes are also not quite cornhole-specific.

But if youre looking for low-effort hosting and some easy-to-make summery snacks, then this might be perfect.

What a fun little cookbook and one that really did make me smile. Loving the information and history on cornhole itself and better yet loving the easy to prepare recipes that everyone will love. This is a book that is fun, the recipes are great for parties and especially a cornhole day.

I am looking forward to now getting in the kitchen, trying the recipes and then inviting everyone over for a fun day of food and cornhole, of course!

Thank you NetGalley and Fox Chapel Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Calling this a cornhole cookbook is a bit of a stretch. It does contain some information about cornhole, bit that is pretty much where it ends. The recipes are a bit basic and are more summer/backyard summer r.

Cornhole is an excellent adventure for people of all ages and what goes better with sunshine and company than foods that celebrate family and friends coming together to enjoy the day. The OFFICIAL CORNHOLE COOKBOOK is an excellent example of a broad assortment of foods that would be appreciated by most. Pantry staple ingrediants with easy to follow recipes including tips to fit personal tastes earns this book a dedicated place on my shelves. In fact, I'm buying several copies to give as prizes in the family's cornhole challenges this fall.

This was an intriguing title and cookbook idea. I really liked how they incorporated the information about cornhole and its history of bringing people together with family meals and community. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in cornhole, cookbooks, and niche topics. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

We love playing cornhole with family, friends and our neighbors so I was very excited to read this cookbook. Official Cornhole Cookbook by Hallie Clark is a great introduction to cornhole and has recipes ranging from drinks to dessert. Queso blanco, spinach mushroom starter and the grilled pineapple sticks are recipes I want to try sooner than later. I do wish there were a few more vegetarian options, but most vegetarians are great at making simple modifications. I love that the contributors all have their picture in the back. This would make a great gift.

I like the introduction by explaining what Cornhole is, even though I normally don't read such introductions. I liked the different fingerfood recipes a lot and will be trying a few of them in the future. I also liked that there so many different tastes and also vegetarian options and side dishes.

Cornhole Cook Book is a fantastic recipe book! It is filled with all of the most delicious, easy and popular recipes that you would typically see at any American BBQ, Cook-Out, or Game day gathering. I highly recommend this book for both, the curious seasoned home cook to the novice cook just trying to find and learn all of the recipes. Rather than spending year's trying to find all of the great American cook-out recipes, you will find everything in this book.

This book is a great way to elevate your cookout. Many tasty twists to many humdrum regular dishes for your gathering. There is 110 recipe ideas from the start of your meal with appetizers to finish up with desserts. I absolutley loved reading the history about cornhole. This cookbook is worth it to add to your home collection.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This cookbook has some solid recipes, covering all the American classics and a few regional favorites. The instructions are easy to follow, and the photos make everything look delicious. That said, there’s nothing particularly new or surprising here—it’s more of a reliable go-to for familiar dishes rather than a source of fresh ideas. If you’re looking for a dependable collection of well-loved recipes, this will do the job. But if you’re after something more creative, you might want to keep looking.

This is such a fun cookbook with tailgate style recipes. Are they recipes you want to eat every day? Absolutely not? Would they be great for a weekend with friends and family, and dare I say it, some Cornhole! The photos that accompany the recipes are appreciated and something I always look for in a great cookbook.

All in all this is a cookbook I have on my list to purchase and gift to some family members that love cornhole as a great gift that I know they will enjoy.

This cookbook is definitely for beginners, and certainly has a backyard barbecue feel to it! I gave this book 2 stars because I don’t think it’ll ever reach for it again… the pictures throughout probably don’t do the recipes justice either.

I think a lot more “ingredient” prep would be needed instead of being able to grab things from your cabinet since a lot of the recipes call for pre-packaged items.

This was an interesting cookbook with cornhole tips and recipes that match the game's vibe. Something that is typically a summer game, the recipes in the cookbook are usual summer fare with some unique twists. Overall, it's a very creative endeavor.

Full disclosure. I don’t play Cornhole, but my family does. This cookbook is filed with the basics, historical nuggets, and recipes that anyone would want to enjoy either between games ie on the sidelines. Definitely making a few for the remaining Football games.

First off, a little warning: on Goodreads, it looks like there are two versions of this book, each with a different author listed, which is confusing and should probably be fixed by the publishers or authors themselves. But don’t let that throw you off because this cookbook is a blast, and if you’re into fun, down-home, all-American food, you’re in for a treat!

As someone who isn’t American but lived in the US for a while, this book makes me nostalgic of state fairs and other summer events like that. It’s all about those classic dishes that you love to eat when you're out at a fair, attending a summer cookout, or tailgating with friends. We're talking cheesy nachos, massive burgers, gooey dips, and more—basically, all the foods that you know aren't great for you, but you can have every once in a while.

The book has a fun, laid-back feel that really makes you think of good times with family and friends, especially during the summer. The recipe names are catchy and totally match the crowd who might be into cornhole (though, I don’t play either, I still got the vibe!). Everything is well-organized, so you can easily find the perfect recipe for your next BBQ or game day party. I loved the way the pages are laid out—each recipe has a photo, and they look real (like, sometimes a little greasy but that's what makes them even more authentic!). The font is a fun touch too, just adds to the whole feel of the book.

What really made the experience enjoyable was the extra tidbits throughout the book, like the history of cornhole and some quirky facts about the food. It gives the cookbook more personality and ties everything together. Plus, there are a few vegetarian and gluten-free options sprinkled in, though the focus is definitely on hearty, indulgent comfort food.

If you're looking for a cookbook that brings the fun of American cookouts and tailgates into your own kitchen, this is it. It's a lighthearted, enjoyable read with lots of mouthwatering recipes. And the best part? You’ll find yourself getting hungry just flipping through it! Can’t wait to try some of these myself.

First off, there are two books with this title and different authors listed. There’s no real author of the book since it’s compiled by the publisher of some previously published recipes from other cookbooks and some recipes submitted for this book by all different people. I read an ARC from the publisher and mine has a cover that looks mostly like this with the same so called author but it says 115 recipes, not 140.

The recipes are tailgating kind of foods, very unhealthy but the kind of food you like when you’re at a bbq or the fair. There are lots of variations of nachos, burgers, dips and such. There is a photo of each one and they look refreshingly real, often a bit burnt or greasy looking. There is no nutritional information. Some recipes are vegetarian or gluten free, more in some sections than others.

The amounts that the recipes make varies widely. Some make a small batch and then there are dip recipes that fill a crockpot and call for cups and pounds of different cheeses.

I don’t really play cornhole and I certainly don’t go to cornhole events, but if you do you might have fun with this book.

I read a digital version of this book for review.
