This is a funny little story of a child who doesn't want to go to sleep, so his mother prepares his bedroom with everything he could ever want. This makes bedtime fun and a little humorous for those children who don't want to go to sleep.

This story about a boy named Dunkin is such a clever and funny story that makes an excellent bed time read aloud! Dunkin is the king of delaying bed time, but his mom is pretty clever herself and has anticipated all his tactics. He still says he doesn't feel tired so his mom suggests counting sheep. This helps, but then comes sheep #68... This sheep gives Dunkin a taste of his own medicine by delaying and fretting over jumping. Eventually the sheep crosses the bed and both he and Dunkin are able to fall asleep. I love the illustrations with the muted backgrounds and the main focus of the pictures being more colorful. My daughter laughed several times while reading this aloud and loved the pictures as well. This book gets 5 stars from me, I have zero complaints!
Huge thanks to Kids Can Press and NetGalley for an ARC of this book!

What a fun way to teach an important lesson. So cute with the adorable illustrations. A little bit if one's own medicine seemed to do the trick. Lol!

This is an adorable bedtime book. My daughters both loved it. It’s silly and funny while also teaching a little lesson. The little boy tries to avoid bedtime in any way he can. When his sheep tries to do the same to him, he gets a taste of his own medicine. My girls laughed at the silly sheep. A perfect bedtime book.

This is a great twist on classic bedtime books! Kerry Lyn Sparrow and Guillaume Perreault created a fun and clever tale of bedtime mayhem, where counting sheep backfires. Kids and parents will laugh out loud!

A charming and imaginative bedtime story that follows a young boy as his nightly routine takes an unexpected turn. Parents and children alike will delight in the familiar stalling tactics that make bedtime a universal challenge, while the playful twist on counting sheep adds an entertaining surprise. With its endearing narrative and relatable humor, this story is sure to become a cherished addition to any bedtime collection.

This was a silly and engaging story. The illustrations are great for toddlers.
My 4 year old son enjoyed the story and said that the sheep was being cheeky.
Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher Kids Can Press for the ARC.

This book is a fun twist on the common advice to "count sheep" when you can't sleep. Duncan will go to great lengths to delay bed time. When it finally comes around, thanks to his clever mother, he can't sleep. So, his mother's advice is to "count sheep." He does just that when life size sheep magically appear, jumping over his bed with their numbers displayed. Everything goes smoothly until interruptions come up, including one sheep not wanting to jump. The ordeal of getting each sheep to jump exhausts Duncan enough to finally lull him into a sleep.
I would recommend this books to my patrons looking for clever and witty bed time books.

This is a cute story that illustrates that bedtime can be a struggle for kids and parents alike. It provides a solution for kids who have trouble sleeping...count sheep (!) and then tells the story of the sheep involved. Empathetic to how kids feels when they aren't ready to go to bed...it's also entertaining and amusing. The imagination around the sheep and how they feel is amusing and I think kids will really like it. Always good, as a parent, to have a book that helps guide kids on getting to sleep. Perfect bedtime reading! Excellent illustrations. I have to ask though...why is the sheep in question #69? Is that supposed to be an adult joke? Kids won't get it but there were plenty of high numbers that could have been chosen...why #69?

This book is a fun and fresh take on a kid who tries everything to stall before he goes to bed. Having one of the sheep he's counting stall like the kiddos usually does is cute and original.

A silly story about counting sheep to get to sleep. But what happens when one sheep won't cooperate.
Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.

Thank you for access to this ARC!
Beautiful illustrations and a funny story about procrastination. I can see a child getting some giggles out of this. Well done!

Kid review: This was funny. You should NOT read it at bed time, it is so funny you won't be able to sleep! My favourite character was Sheep 68.
Mum review: This book is quick and fun for toddlers and preschoolers. The bed time shenanigans were very relatable, but the story had some fun surprises.
