so romantic. I loved the interactions between the characters, they're so incredibly charming and have such sweet banter. I will definitely be reading more.

thank you netgalley and publisher for the arc!

The art style is gorgeous. It feels like the old comic strips in newspapers with the off-white background and pop of colors.

Art style aside, it was kind of hard to follow the plot, or lack thereof. It was an accumulation of 14 small stories that seem interconnected, but loosely.

The manga is about this police officer who meets this blind runaway heiress and offers her a job at the police station answering the phone. It follows their relationship as coworkers, and they have super cute banter. The MMC seems super whipped for the FMC, which I love!

I wish the manga was a bit more substantial, but this was only the first volume. I look forward to reading the future volumes.

Thank you to NetGalley and Udon Entertainment for giving me a free copy in exchange for my honest review.

The art in this 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Beautifully drawn and the short stories in this manga is immaculate. I love how its more of snapshots of the couple's interactions rather than a coherent storytelling as we see their day to day life, random things they did in their days and how there is a growing relationship but not official yet. A blind, beautiful woman and a tough policeman together make such a cute couple, their flirtations with each other are swoonworthy. Just be a couple, u guys deserve each other

I wish this had more a plot but besides that I enjoyed it. The art style was stunning, and I wanted more of it.

Thank you for the ARC!
I am in love with the fashionable art style of this manga. It is unique and it makes it stand out. I love the slice of life vibe of the story and the interactions between the two main characters are so cute and genuine.

A blind heiress. A police officer. A chance. An on-duty police officer meets a blind heiress and, half seriously, hires her to answer phones at the police station. The only thing is, they hardly get phone calls. This chance meeting starts a mysterious relationship with these two characters. We have vignettes into their daily love. Small comments and conversations. Images. Moments. It's mysterious and nostalgic. Its romantic and friendly. It's atmospheric. The artwork is smooth and she is graceful while he is tough. She is soft angles and he is hard angles. There are so many ways to discuss this manga, but the best word is just beautiful.

A specific reader is needed for this one. A reader who doesn't mind a coherent plot and clear answers. I am that reader. I devoured this and personally, want these on my shelves. I could easily see myself returning to this again and again. Very excited for future volumes.

I wasn't expecting the vignette style of this graphic novel and found myself struggling a bit with threading together the plot. However, I was very taken with the art style and enjoyed a story about a young blind woman and how she navigates her independence.

This manga has such beautiful artwork and it should be framed and posted for everyone to see as well. This story is very cute with romantic tension between the main leads that I really love and enjoy. Evey scene puts a giddy smile on my face from seeing the main characters interact with each other. I can't wait for Volume 2 to come out and see even more of this beautiful artwork and feel the sweet romance developing between the main leads. I love it! 5 out of 5 stars for me!

I greatly enjoyed Veil Vol. 1. The artwork reminds me of sketches for a fashion design and I found myself really enjoying it. The plot line is not as strong as I would have liked, but it was fun to read something that was lighthearted, flirty, and fun. I recommend!

First, I LOVED the art style.
Second, the characters are AMAZING. You can just feel the pull between them.
They are in their own bubble and their relationship just grows so smoothly between them.

I think the plot of the story is super interesting. The added factor of our FMC being blind and our MMC treating her with love, respect, and simplicity is just perfection.
Police officer meets runaway blind heiress who just wants to work and enjoy her life who wouldn't love it!

The manga is filled with simple daily routine moments in their lives and I am just waiting for more more more!

The truth is, when I started reading this comic, I felt completely lost. What was going on? Who were the characters? What's all this about?

And as I read on, even though I didn't get many answers, the tenderness and bond between the characters won my heart, and I never wanted to finish this volume. Luckily, I had the second one ready to read, and that's exactly what I did.

A story that introduces us to two very different characters who complement each other so well.

Thank you so much, Udon Entertainment, for the ARC I read on NetGallery, in exchange for an honest review.

I was immediately drawn to the stunning cover art of the first volume—it's absolutely beautiful. After reading the synopsis, I was hooked and excited to dive deeper into the story.

One thing to note is that the narrative unfolds more like a series of snapshots into the lives of the two main characters, rather than following a traditional, cohesive plot. It has a strong artbook vibe, so if you’re expecting something more structured or plot-driven, it might not be what you're looking for. However, I assure you that it’s still worth reading. The visuals are a treat, and the blossoming relationship between the main characters had me kicking my feet and giggling with delight.

The male main character is a slightly awkward but utterly smitten police officer, and after meeting the determined female lead, he offers her a job. Watching their relationship grow closer is simply heartwarming. But beyond the romance, the story is also about appreciating life’s simple pleasures and the beauty of the world around us—things that some of us often overlook.

I’m excited to continue the series and see how their relationship continues to blossom

Veil
-police officer & runaway heiress (blind)
-only 2 year age gap
-quick read
-romance, josei, slice of life

I am a bit conflicted about how I feel about this one. Overall I enjoyed reading both volumes and the art stands out compared to other manga. The art style reminds me of a specific art style but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called. You can honestly read any scene and not feel like you missed anything, as they are brief moments of the two. This can be good and bad.
As I am writing this something popped in my head, it kinda gives me vibes of the comics you could find on the old bubble gum wrappers or even the ones in the newspaper (yes I know makes me sound old referencing those things but oh well). I know I say I feel conflicted, I genuinely enjoyed this series but part of me feels like I'm not going to immediately preorder and wait until a couple of volumes release before picking up. This might be due to the fact I have many series to catch up on but how I feel at the moment.

So far we don't have a backstory or really the plot, but that's how most slice of life series are honestly. We don't get their names until the end of volume one where they give a small profile of the two- Emma and Alexander. You can sense their relationship building and their flirty moments. I would kind of like to know why she ran away and some back story of the two, but seeing their wholesome moments is cute.

This book’s artwork is undoubtedly its strongest asset. The illustrations are detailed and expressive, with a soft, painterly quality that gives each scene a distinct mood. It’s clear a lot of care went into the visuals, and they do elevate the reading experience.

That said, the storytelling feels uneven. The premise—a city police officer and a runaway heiress—has potential, but their relationship unfolds in fragmented moments rather than a cohesive narrative. Some scenes are sweet or intriguing, but others lack depth or meaningful connection, making it hard to fully invest in their journey.

One bright spot is the respectful portrayal of the heiress’s disability. Her dynamic with the love interest is tender and well-handled, with a quiet sincerity that stands out. Their interactions are some of the most engaging parts of the book—I just wish the rest of the story had matched that level of depth.

This was so charming!

Firstly, readers should know going into this that the story doesn't unfold in a traditional way. Instead, it's told through a series of slice-of-life vignettes that are mostly left to the reader's interpretation. Each scene captures adorable, often flirty moments between the two leads that ooze the charm of classic films. There wasn't much clear-cut romance, mostly just conversation and subtle hints, but it still had me smiling and kicking my feet. The art and color work were gorgeous, very reminiscent of vintage ads and fashion illustrations. I especially appreciated how spiffily dressed the two leads were. Will definitely be continuing the series!

Thank you to Udon Entertainment for providing this ARC for review!

First, I wanna say that the art is to die for, literally I could stare at the artwork for hours and not get bored. The little sketches after each scene are sooo cute and beautiful. Definitely recommend checking this manga out if you are interested in art. Second, the story it self is really cute and touching. We follow a blind woman and a police man later on their relationship feels just so sincere and genuine. I need me a man like Aleksander frr
Anyway, people should consider checking this out!

I'm happy that this manga has an English translation. I had seen some illustrations and pages online in French, but unfortunately, I don’t know the language. I even considered buying the French edition!

In this first volume, we meet two characters who cross paths by chance. Bit by bit, we get to see their relationship unfold—it’s incredibly sweet, and you can really feel how much they care for each other. I found myself blushing every few pages!

It’s beautiful to witness the longing between them, and I loved how the passage of time is subtly shown—for example, through the growing length of the female lead's hair.

The fact that it's all in color is an extra treat, allowing us to fully appreciate the characters' outfits. The art style was the first thing that caught my eye—it reminded me of fashion sketches, which I found very appealing.

I especially appreciated the ending of the volume, where we finally get details about the characters’ names and preferences. I wasn’t expecting that, so it was a lovely surprise.

I’m eagerly looking forward to the next volume!

I definitely recommend this story if you're looking for something fun and light to read.

Airily light, and with art that looks almost like fashion illustrations, with muted solid colors, Veil feels like it could be as much home with classic European comics as it does with manga. It concerns the quiet moments of a romantic relationship between a police officer (simply presented as him) and a rich girl (her) who becomes a police receptionist. Some asides are presented as prose monologues or dialogues. The comics are largely isolated scenes of domesticity or quiet character moments between the two. Delicate hand lettering helps the content feel intimate.

While I enjoyed the art style, it's more of an art book with some four panel stories sprinkled in. But, there wasn't a fleshed out story already established before the panels. I wasn't sure if they were in a relationship a few pages in or just friends.

There was no backstory or introduction to the characters, so it was virtually impossible to tell what the hell was going on. So while the art was interesting, the story was pretty much non-existent.
