When I first started reading, I was a bit thrown off my the art style. Not that I didn’t like it, but it was just so different than what I expect from manga and graphic novels. I quickly got over that and I really loved the style. The full colour really adds so much to this as well. I absolutely loved all of the outfits and you can tell how much time and thought was put into them.

This was such a unique layout for this story and I absolutely loved it. The connection between Him and Her is amazing and I immediately started the next volume as soon as I finished this one.

As much as I loved the art in this graphic novel, the story was a bit hard to follow? There wasn’t much dialogue or plot to further the story, I’m hoping to get more from Vol 2 but we’ll see.

❝Sounds like they see all kinds of things with a romantic view. These eyes of yours.❞

Veil Volume 1: Temperature of Orange - Kotteri
★★★★★

I think I just found my new obsession because favorite would be an understatement.

It's not like any other manga, as if it creates a whole new different genre to itself. The art style is very much georgeous. I personally love the coloring, it's giving you this classic vibes. Not to mention the panels, they're very much simple and not as complicated as manga usually does but it did a great job of portraying the romance, the little gestures, all the intimacy and warm feeling. Also it has an interesting format where they separate main characters' monologue in a secluded panel instead of putting it into the same normal panel. It's just simplify everything for us readers.

Now about the plot, i'm obsessed with everything about it. The romance, subtle and warm and delicate aka PERFECT with capital letters. They seems perfect for each other, the chenistry is just undeniable. I love how he's so gentle and considerate and took a generous time and effort to take care of her. The whole sweetness provided in this initial volume did a great job on hooking reader's attention for more maybe FMC's back story and some more serious conflict in the upcoming volume. Can't wait to jump into the next one!

Quick simple read nothing too special. Not bad at all, quite fun but it didn't stick out to me, I'll try the 2nd volume if that doesn't stick out I might DNF the series. I'd give this a 2.5 out of 5 just middle of the road I guess. But since I can't do half stars I'll round up to 3.

4.5 stars
Beautiful and quick read. The art style sets the tone perfectly. It would have been five stars but I felt it was a bit disconnected from scene to scene. Like how did we get from there to here at some parts. Still, I enjoyed it and I loved their teasing. Looking forward to the next one.

The way I had to remind myself to write a review and not just keep on going with the second volume is insane.

In many of my years reading translated manga, online manhua/manhwa and other comics, it's been a long time since I encountered a concept like this.

To start, I think this is either a hit or a miss for some people. It's hard to explain but ut reads like a put together collection of drabbles and scenes about a couple, rather than a full storyline that keeps on going and going.

But this way of scene after scene, with sometimes abrupt endings or a little confusing starts, gives you an insight in how they develop as a connection, how each person has their eccentricities but also their habits and opinions, and how they grow individually.

I had to get used to the artstyle at first, but quickly found myself growing fond of it. A few times there are very interesting pages of dialogue- simply without comic - and I got so attached to the characters I could already hear everything in my head.

It's not very long - around 130 pages of which many only contain artwork, but it'll definitely want you longing for more.

Perfect if you: are okay with reading drabble collections on your fanfic site of choice / like character driven stories / can appreciate vibes
Less perfect for you if you: filtered your fics being >10k words / if you want plot over characters / want pining

An interesting story featuring an unnamed couple who meet on the streets. He, a police officer, and she, a blind runaway heiress. We see them together in random scenes and get to know them. The art is truly beautiful!

its been ages since I last read a manga, and this was an excellent reminder why I love manga so much, this manga has gorgeous drawings and the story is sweet, at first we get to know who our main characters are, and afterwards we get snippets of the life of this characters and how their relationship grows, yeah its not like it tells all the things that happen in their lifes, but more how their relation grows and matures.

This was a very enjoyable manga and I really recommend this manga for everyone who likes mature stories without the obvious forced relationship. And another positive thing is that this manga is also coloured.

Thank you NetGalley and Udon Entertainment, for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Veil 1: Temperature of Orange is a short, romantic read focusing on the budding relationship of police officer Alexander and runaway rich girl Emma.

I was expecting this to be more plot-driven while it rather showed snapshots of interactions between the main characters. I enjoyed most the beautiful illustrations and the banter between Emma and Alexander. I particularly loved the great detail and use of colour brought to the illustrations.

I’d recommend this to manga fans interested in slow burn romance.

I’m looking forward to continuing the series and hopefully learning more about Emma’s past in Volume 2.
Thank you to Udon Entertainment for providing me with this review copy via NetGalley!

This is what I envisioned Nina and Matthias's relationship in Six of Crows would be like.
This is a gorgeously illustrated manga with so much character. I wish this book had a coherent plot instead of little ripples of stories. I could imagine the whole story between them and their future. Read Veil for a refreshing, quick, and delightful reset.

First of all, I want to thank UDON Entertainment for this ARC, and that’s my honest opinion.

ENG: I fell in love with Veil at first sight: the delightfully retro style won me over. The clothes, hairstyles, set design and props are absolutely perfect. Each volume is a small artbook, and there is no illustration that would look out of place in the most famous fashion magazines. And then there is a subtle and enveloping sensuality permeating every table. Emma, blind, uses her other senses, especially touch, to experience the world. Here is his approach to Alexander, touching him, inhaling his smells and seeking his warmth Reading Veil is like savoring a hot chocolate, indulging in its body and letting it tantalize the palate as much as the flavor.

honestly, i'm still thinking about this manga days after finishing it. it's pure art, truly.
there's not much storytelling, at least not in a usual form. the manga seems like a collection of different scenarios that just happen to create a story.
but what elevates this manga is the art style. i adore it!! the vintage style (both in art and in characters) makes it so interesing. i can easily imagine panels from this manga being published in a fashion magazine.
now i just need to have it in physical for my collection♡

A gorgeous manga that follows a blind woman seeking independence and the officer she stumbles across one day. Told through short vignettes and monologues, we slowly watch as they get closer and their relationship grows. The artwork in this book is absolutely beautiful! It has a vintage feel, and some pages were so beautiful I would absolutely buy a print for my wall. Can’t wait to continue on with this series!

I honestly didn't know what was going on the entire time other than it was about a policeman who gets a blind girl a job answering phones at his precinct.

"Veil" is a very nice book. An unusual detail is that she is blind and he is a police officer and both have no names. I like it very much, because you can feel closer to the two of them. The story describes a tender getting to know and exploring two completely different realities of life. I really like how the relationship between the two is developing. And the drawing style is also something completely different than usual. Even if you don't see an offensive romance, the mutual attraction is evident in the small gestures of everyday life.

I saw everyone talking about this manga on twitter, so thank you netgalley for letting me read it! The art work is beautiful. The colors, the fashion, the intimate bond these two characters have is apparent in all the art of them together.

Their story is told through short snippets of their lives together. It's so soft and gentle, and that comes across so well.

Sweet little collection of sequential storytelling, sketches, and the occasional bit of prose about a 40s styled romance between a blind heiress and a policeman.

Veil Vol. 1 is a masterful blend of moving storytelling and breathtaking artwork. Set in a nostalgic Paris, it follows a strong, independent protagonist who radiates confidence despite her disability. Her loving relationship with her partner is a testament to true devotion, free from pity.

The artwork for this manga was absolutely stunning! The blend of vibrant and soft colors kept me wanting more. The portraits in the book were all beautiful, and the way the fashion was depicted really transported you to Paris. Seeing how the two of them interacted was super cool. He was always looking out for her, and I love that.

The author really did a beautiful job, and I highly recommend it if you're into colorful and detailed artwork.

Set in a nostalgic Paris, the story follows a strong, self-assured protagonist who, despite her disability, radiates confidence and determination. Her relationship with her partner is a pure and heartfelt love—one that is built on devotion rather than pity.

One of the most outstanding aspects of Veil is its natural and well-executed inclusivity, never feeling forced but rather beautifully organic. Kotteri immerses us in a romance that is both delicate and passionate, where every glance and gesture speaks volumes beyond words.

The artwork is nothing short of extraordinary, evoking the beauty of Parisian museums. Each page is a masterpiece, transporting readers through time and space. Veil Vol. 1 is a visual and emotional journey that leaves an unforgettable mark.
