The Baby Swap is a fast-paced, twisty thriller tailor-made for audiobook fans who thrive on suspense and psychological drama. Its emotional core and inventive structure make it a standout in domestic thriller fandom. Just be prepared for a story that favors shock and speed over strict realism, and characters who reveal themselves in unpredictable, sometimes messy ways.

Quick and easy read, but the plot was very unrealistic. Overall it was good, but the execution could have been better.

Daniel Hurst has a strong writing style for the thriller genre, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the suspenseful atmosphere. The idea of a baby swap was terrifying and worked in this storyline. I was engaged with what was happening and enjoyed the overall feel of this world. It had that psychological thriller element that I was looking for and was glad I got to read this.

The book was so good, and those twists I never say them coming....so good.....................,.......

This one started out strong then quickly unraveled for me and lost my interest. The premise was very intriguing to me at first but the more time went on it all became so far fetched and a bit silly. The characters were very immature and some of the things they said and did came across as extremely believable.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookotoure for the gifted copy . All opinions are my own.

Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the eArc of The Baby Swap.
having recently got into Daniel Hurst books, I really enjoy his medium paced, domestic thrillers and this one was a bit of a wild ride. As yourself, when you seek revenge, where do you stop?!!
This duel POV of two women who gave birth at the same time and on the same ward, Avril, a successful women and Jade, someone who feels life has left her behind. Jade, recognising Avril from years before, still holds a grudge and does the unthinkable. She swaps babies. For me, both this ladies are unlikeable but that's what makes it such a compelling read! Both the ladies stories build together and the duel timelines gives us motivation and insight that drives these two women to literally play cat and mouse with each other. The finale and the direction I didn't expect at all!
I also listened to the audio version of this book which is narrated by two very talented ladies, Tamsin Kennard and Lucy Paterson. Both have very engaging voices which suits these types of books.

The Baby Swap is a fast-paced twisty thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
I really enjoyed it.

This is a great book to introduce new readers to Hurst's books- it has everything. A gripping plot, fast paced and easy to read in one sitting, and a WILD ending. Readers will not be able to put this one down.
Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great fast paced read with a number of twists throughout! Really enjoyed this read but felt like the beginning was a little dragged out!

Someone stole my little boy. I’ll do whatever it takes to get him back…
Staring down at the sweet baby in my arms, I feel panic instead of love. Because this isn’t the child I gave birth to. My husband whispers to the midwife. They all think I’m going crazy. But the tiny boy in my arms is crying again. I’m he knows I’m not his mummy. And I’ll do whatever it takes to get my son back.
I did it. I swapped my baby with another newborn in the hospital. As I hold the child in my arms, I hear my own little boy start to cry on the other side of the curtain. My heart is shattering into a million pieces.
I know I had no choice. I didn’t want to do this. But no one can ever find out the reason why I swapped my baby. Because if anyone knew the truth, my life and my child’s life would be in danger…
My Opinion
Another fast-paced thriller by Daniel Hurst. With quite a few twists this book was a quick read. I am definitely a fan of Hurst’s writing style.
Rating 4/5

I really enjoy Daniel Hurst's writing style I did enjoy this book. I just found the characters very annoying and frustrating, which is probably the point! The ending was a little bit rushed for the whole story, but I did enjoy the twists and turns that were added in. I was frustrated with the outcome and wish it had ended differently for a certain character, but there wasn't really any other way to do it.
This was very well written and I will be reading more books by Daniel Hurst!

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Often, my enjoyment of a book depends on how strong a relationship the author has built between me and the characters. However, with 'The Baby Swap', while I did not particularly like Averil or Jade, I was gripped throughout. Although in some ways the story was slow, and I dislike the trope of everyone dismissing the (always female) main character's concerns as emotional/mentally unwell/unstable, I do understand why it was done in this instance. Although quite slow at times, Hurst interwove past and present well, and the final chapters moved at breakneck speed, but in a way which detailed the twists and turns carefully and with intrigue. I would be interested in reading more by this author.

The Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst is a twisted thriller that follows two mothers who give birth to a baby boy around the same time. The babies are switched after birth, and the past unfolds in a suspenseful twisted way. Although some of the twists seem a little farfetched, I enjoyed reading this domestic thriller.
Rating: 4/5 – Sharp, suspenseful, and hard to put down.

Oh wow. This book is amazing!! The storyline is very twisty and suspenseful, with tension really building.
I found the dual POV very interesting.
I’d classify this as a popcorn thriller which meant that I found it very easy to read and even though the subject matter is pretty dark, the story itself isn’t. Personally for me I like that.
And I loved the ending! Very satisfying.

Wow. Just wow. The Baby Swap was stressful as a mother to read. I had post partum anxiety and the thought of this happening is just terrifying! Anyways, I had never read a book by Hurst before but I do have to say I will definitely be getting whatever book he puts out from now on. This was a page-turner and one I'm not likely to forget.

Wow, wow and again wow! Daniel Hurst has delivered yet another head-spinning psychological thriller that left me continually wondering what would happen next. “The Baby swap” had me constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what could possibly happen next; and yet even after reading many of his books before, I still kept being surprised.
At times, the pace changed and dragged a little, but this was possibly, so readers could catch their breath for a moment! I think this is one of my favourites from him. With thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for letting me read this story (which is now available for sale).

This is the first book I've read by this author and I did enjoy it. It kept my interest and was suspenseful enough to want me to keep going, I read it fairly quickly. The main characters were so annoying at times with the drama... but i love drama lol I would read other books by Daniel Hurst in the future.
