Let me start off by saying that it was impossible not to binge read this book... Wow!!!

From the beginning to the very last page I was fully consumed! This book had so many shocking twists that I kept asking myself how it could possibly get better, but it did! The intertwining stories of Jade and Avril built so many layers of suspense, I couldn't even begin to predict where the story was headed. The ending solidified a very well-earned 5 star rating!

This was one of the twistiest (is that a word??!) thrillers I have ever read‼️I could not consume this book quickly enough. (I even increased the font size on my Kindle to make it easier to read 😂 it was THAT good.)

Daniel Hurst absolutely hit it out of the park with this one!

Publication date: 2/19/2025, so make sure you go secure your copy. You do NOT want to miss out on this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this absolutely phenomenal book!

The Baby Swap a psychological thriller by Daniel Hurst was really enjoyable with a fantastic twist at the end.

Two Mothers give birth to baby boys in the same hospital one a single Mother and the other Mother has her husband by her side.

One Mother will be leaving hospital with the wrong baby boy as someone has swapped their baby boy for theirs.

This thriller tugs at the heart as both Mothers have to adjust to their babies as they struggle to bond with them.

Another great story. It started with an interview, followed by a stolen boyfriend, switched babies and murder.

Jade ond Avril are both pregnant and about to give birth. However, this is the only similitude in their reality. Where Jade is broke, single and has no luck, Avril is very well off, married and successful. A coincidence puts them both in labour in adjoining hospital beds. When Jade sees Avril through a crack in the curtains, she is in shock. Although Avril did not recognize her, Jade knows she is the woman who ruined her life, and now she wants her revenge.
You have to be ready to suspend disbelief with this fast pace thriller Although it hooks you from page one and is an absolute page turner, the plot was waaaay over the top, especially for a quest for revenge that was resting on something veeeeery thin. Also, it would have been nice if Jade would have been able to say anything else then a variation of "this is not my baby" and "erm".
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I originally found this book slow to get into, but once I got properly into the story I was hooked and read it in one sitting. I felt some of the twists were quite predictable, but also that the ending just came out of nowhere and was just a bit rushed despite the entire book being quite fast paced. Overall, I enjoyed the read and would definitely read another book by Hurst in the future.

It’s been a while since I read a Daniel Hurst book, so I was excited to get an ARC of this one. It reads quickly like others by him which is what I was looking for this time around. The plot is so crazy from the get go then wait til the end! Just when you think it can’t get any crazier, it does! Rating this 4⭐️! Thanks for the ARC!

The Baby Swap was a narrative alternates between the perspectives of two women, Avril and Jade.

Avril is portrayed as a successful career woman with a high-flying job, a great marriage, a beautiful home, and now, a new baby. However, after giving birth, she becomes increasingly convinced that the baby she brought home is not her own, leading to mounting paranoia and desperation. Her point of view delves into her growing suspicions and the lengths she is willing to go to uncover the truth.

Jade is portrayed as someone who feels trapped by her circumstances; living a less privileged life compared to Avril. When the babies are swapped, Jade sees an opportunity for a better future through her child, despite the unsettling reality of the situation. Her perspective explores themes of envy, desperation, and moral conflict as she grapples with the consequences of the baby swap.

Honestly, I side with Jade. If I were her, I’d also hold a grudge. Never underestimate or mistreat someone because you never know how it might come back to you. Im believe that those who mistreat others deserve the consequences.

The ending was so satisfying, and this book is full of plot twists that leave you completely stunned. Im really enjoyed this book and the unexpected twists that made the story captivating.

Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5)

Daniel Hurst’s Baby Swap is a psychological thriller with an intriguing premise—two mothers, a shocking revelation, and a dark twist that keeps the tension high. The book follows Avril and her growing suspicion that the child she’s raising may not be her own, leading to a suspenseful unraveling of secrets and lies.

The story is fast-paced and engaging, making it a quick read. However, some of the twists feel predictable, and the character development could have been stronger. While it delivers on drama and suspense, it doesn’t quite reach the depth needed to make it unforgettable.

Overall, Baby Swap is an entertaining thriller, perfect for fans of domestic suspense, but it may leave some readers wanting more in terms of complexity and originality.

This one kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!
Jade is depressed, alone and just gave birth to a baby who won’t stop crying. Avril is successful, married, wealthy and has her dream baby. They end up giving birth on the same day and have beds beside each other. When Jade peaks in the curtain she sees the woman who ruined her life she is determined to get revenge…
We get the POV on both women and their perspective. This one is a wild ride and that ending?!?! Did not see it coming.

The baby swap by Daniel Hurst is a fast paced psychological thriller book.
I was hooked from page one. The two women are looking for revenge on each other... Babies are swapped but there's so much more to this story! With great charcter building and twists i absolutely did not see coming, I found this book hard to put down! Daniel Hurst did it again, another brilliant psychological thriller book that all comes together so well in the end! I rated this book four stars.

What would cause a woman to swap her own baby for another's? The Baby Swap starts with a dramatic event and dives into the lives of the two women involved.

We get to the action much sooner than I expected and I found that that actually worked well for this book. There were also a few twists that I truly did not see coming and kept me glued to the page.

What didn't work for me was that the only likable characters were the literal babies, and that while all the motives were clearly explained, I did not find them particularly believable...

So excited to be picked to read an early release of this book! I always enjoy this authors books. For some reason, this one fell short for me. While it did have some good twists and turns in the book, I felt as though it was kind of dragged on and repetitive at some points. The ending was great, but I feel as though it was rushed. I would still recommend this story, it’s just not one of my favorites from him. I still look forward to what he will release next!

The Baby Swap is an over the top, thriller suspense read with an element of dark.
This was a clever, twisty plot with that omg ending.
When two women days apart from giving birth end up next to each other at the hospital, their lives will be upturned forever….
Jade is pregnant, broke and has no luck.
Avril is quite well off, married and successful.
They end up in beds beside one another and while Jade peeks through the adjoining curtain, she is in shock.
Jade recognises Avril instantly, she destroyed her life and now it’s time for revenge.
Daniel has gifted his fans another winner.
A quick and fast paced read and ultimately unexpected.
Complex characters, tension filled, smart reveals and a book that delivers.

absolutely loved this. I really enjoyed the pace of the book. chapters were short n simple with something always happening making me want more. I like multiple points of view while reading. When I started reading I really didn't like Avril and I thought Jade was relatable. But I was shortly wrong, although mother hood brings out the crazy in us, this showed how far things can really go and that a small crumble from the past can always catch up to you In unexpected ways. I wasn't expecting the ending the way it did, I really enjoyed the twist at the end and Bobbys little 2 sense putting everything together. they always say there's 3 sides to every story.
thank you net galley for giving me the chance to read this. id totally recommend it

Jade and Avril both give birth to boys on the same day at the same hospital. We follow them over the next few months with their newborns. Another fascinating psychological thriller from Daniel Hurst. The characters are compelling in their own ways whether it is sympathy you feel or frustration on their behalf. Every time I thought the story was heading in one direction it suddenly changed on a tangent. Did NOT see that ending coming at all. I can't find fault to make critical comment. I enjoy these stories very much and think they would be of interest to people who are partial to psychological thrillers. Well done Daniel, another winner.

This book was a bit predictable. I love Daniel Hurst as an author but feel he has better books. The characters seemed not very complex and the twist and turns promised, didn't deliver. This is a book about two mothers who give birth on the same day but share a secret past with one another. Although it accurately portrays the hysteria that most pregnant women are labeled with during and after pregnancy i found it to be underwhelming compared to his other books.
