👶Two wrongs make a right?🤔👶

The writing was clear, direct, easy to read and the story, though parts far-fetched, kept my interest right through. I also found it had me reflecting frequently and waffling about whether I could sympathize with either new mother. Each has a hard, uncaring side, though I'll admit that Jade did win my sympathy in the beginning of the action going back to seven years in the past where Avril never had it. At a number of instances, the suspense and adrenaline ramp up and kept the thrill factor running at a good pace, though there were also some slow patches that seemed somewhat repetitive.

An interesting and quick though not what I would characterize an exceptional novel. Would I read more by Daniel Hurst based on this story? Probably yes.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Thank you to Bookouture for the ARC. I have read many Daniel Hurst books and I find I’m always thinking the same things about them. The endings are usually incredible but the rest of the book is repetitive, slow, and lacks thrill. I can say the same about this book. This one just had so much potential but didn’t quite meet the mark for me. The dual POV was fine and easy to keep track of. Both female characters were terrible. They’re both irritating and obnoxious. The fathers were useless and pointless for this story. I’m giving this 3⭐️ solely based on the ending. The rest of the book just fell short for me. But that ending was chaotic! I’ll definitely read this upcoming books from this author. I have a feeling one day he’s going to write an incredible book that will become a favourite for me.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." Another hit psychological thriller from prolific author, Daniel Hurst! We are taken a wild ride of revenge culminating in the most epic act.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

This book gave me heart palpitations..in the best way! The TWIST, nearly every chapter was a cliffhanger, I was reading on the edge of my seat! What an amazing book; if you love Freida McFadden books then you’ll love this! 5/5 ⭐️

Felt slow in the beginning and I thought I wouldn’t like it, but man o man it started picking up and by the end I was hooked. Loved the flashback moments and it switching between the female leads. It makes you feel sorry for both of them and not knowing who to root for. I’m giving it a 4 star because the only thing I didn’t like was how the prologue was also a chapter a little later in the book. It was weird to read the same thing twice not far off from each other. Otherwise this was a good read and a good story.

A Breathtaking Psychological Thriller That Will Leave You Reeling

The Baby Swap is an absolute rollercoaster of a read—gripping, intense, and packed with jaw-dropping twists that will keep you turning the pages long into the night. Daniel Hurst has once again proven himself a master of psychological thrillers, crafting a story that is as emotionally devastating as it is utterly addictive.

From the very first page, I was hooked. The sheer horror of a mother realising the baby in her arms is not her own is every parent’s worst nightmare. Her panic, her desperation, and the gut-wrenching feeling that no one believes her are so vividly written that I could feel every ounce of her terror. And then there’s the other side—the woman who stole the baby. Her reasons are buried deep, dark and dangerous, and as the story unfolds, the tension tightens like a noose.

Told from alternating perspectives, this novel is a psychological chess game, each chapter revealing new secrets and raising more questions. Just when I thought I had it figured out, Hurst threw in a twist so shocking I actually gasped. The pacing is relentless, the characters complex and flawed, and the sense of dread builds to an explosive finale that left me completely stunned.

If you love edge-of-your-seat thrillers by the likes of T.M. Logan and Freida McFadden, The Baby Swap is an absolute must-read. It’s chilling, compelling, and will have you questioning just how far someone would go for the ultimate deception. An unforgettable, unputdownable read!

Baby Swap is every woman’s nightmare, your baby has been swapped at birth and you’ll do anything to get him back. Two woman Avril and Jade have met before, but Avril doesn’t remember. Jade certainly does, this woman has made her life a nightmare and she wants to get her back. It’s a twisty story that will keep you reading. It’s fast paced and I really enjoyed it. The two main characters are perfect for the roles and make this story edgy. Highly recommend 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

I could not put this book down, from the prologue I was gripped and couldn’t wait to find out what had caused ‘the baby swap’. The twists and turns Daniel has put into this book makes you question everything you think you know about the characters. Following two women out for revenge and a husband in the middle, how far will they go to come out on top?? The epilogue answered all the questions I had and left me honestly shook!! I guess a take away from this book is to be kind to everyone because you just never know how far someone will go to get revenge and where that will leave you..?

Thankyou NetGalley and bookouture for the opportunity to receive an arc of The Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst, I am truly grateful.

One meeting sets so much in motion and it can be stopped at a couple of occasions before it’s too late.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this.

This was completely crazy but I couldn’t stop reading it!! Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC. This was my second thriller by this author, it gives similar vibes to Freida novels that have twists, twists and more twists all the way til the end.

Very interesting story, unlike any other book I have read. Full of twists and turns, as well as seeing different points of views through all the different character's in the story. I found myself not wanting to put this down, it was a great book.

"The Baby Swap" by Daniel Hurst follows two new moms, Jade and Avril, who give birth to their children on the same day and have a terrible past together. The funny thing is that Avril doesn't recognize the woman whose chance at an amazing career she ruined: Jade. Jade wants revenge on Avril, so in the middle of the night, she swaps her constantly crying newborn with Avril's content and quiet newborn. Will her crime go unnoticed?

Thank you to the publisher Bookouture for the gifted eARC copy for review purposes.  All opinions expressed here are mine alone.

This cat-and-mouse chase is full of suspense and drama, and I slightly enjoyed it due to its fast pacing. Unfortunately, there were so many unbelievable moments that it caused me pain from rolling my eyes. If you know, you know.

The ending was unexpected, so that's a plus. Overall, I still plan on reading another Daniel Hurst book because I've heard so many good things about his work; however, this one just wasn't for me.

"The Baby Swap" will be widely available on Feburary 19th 2025

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC of The Baby Swap by Daniel Hurst. This is the eighth book I've read by Daniel Hurst, and what a wild ride! This book was full of twists and turns, and I loved the alternating point of view from Jade to Avril.

Avril is a wealthy woman who works in the cosmetics industry and decides she wants to try for a baby with her husband, Bobby. Jade is a very poor single woman who is unable to hold down a job. Both women end up at the hospital to deliver their babies at the same time and are on the beds beside each other at the hospital. After the babies are born, one woman's baby does not stop crying while the other just sleeps and is extremely docile. The mother of the crying baby decides to swap babies while the other mother is asleep so she can get the ultimate revenge on her for what she's done in the past.

After both women leave the hospital, this book dives into how they know each other and what was done in the past all while the mother who ended up with the crying baby tries to figure out what it is about her baby that isn't quite right. On day one, her baby was docile, didn't cry, and breastfed with no issues. From day two and forward, her baby cries non-stop, won't breastfeed, and she doesn't feel attached to him. This is when she comes up with a theory: Is this her baby? Or someone else's? And if it's someone else's, then where is the baby she gave birth to?

Wow! This book had me hooked from the first chapter, and kept me hooked the entire time.
The author has done a fantastic job telling it from both characters perspectives, and knew just how to pull on your heart strings so you would feel for them both. Avril and Jade have some tough history, and come across each other again several years later when they both are at the same hospital. From there, a new personal battle is fought from them both, and a vendetta plan is set in motion. It had some twists that I didn’t see coming.
I really enjoyed this read, and am so happy that I was given the opportunity to read this ahead of its release date!

Very clever thriller. Not your average baby swap. Revenge is at the root of the story line! Told in two POV from two women, alternating from past and present. The ending is surly not what you would expect. Then an epilogue that makes you go 🤭 Definitely keeps you turning pages to see what Arvil and Jade will do next and who, as they say, gets the last laugh.

The baby swap was such a captivating thriller which I couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about it once I started I couldn’t put it down read it in one sitting. The book was full of bitterness, lies and suspense. I always enjoy a book were all the characters are flawed I feel it makes it more real. It was definitely written great especially with a sensitive subject which was handled fantastically. I would say it is a mixed psychological emotional thriller which I can’t wait to recommend this authors work is all fantastic and this did not disappoint. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this great book.
