So fun! Thoroughly enjoyed the banter and chemistry between the two neighbors. Also love that the FMC didn’t need the MMC to “save her”—she courageously saved herself.
(Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.)

I almost wish this was a full length book!! The characters are so sweet. Excited to read more from Abby Jimenez!

I don't know how Abby packs so much heart into a short story, but she did it yet again! I loved Charlotte and Seth's conversations, and they're so great together. "He's clearing hurdles he doesn't even know exist." Ugh, my heart. Perfection.

Abby Jimenez delivers a heartfelt and humorous novella that packs a punch. We have forced proximity that leads to unexpected chemistry and emotional healing for borsht Charlotte and Seth. This book is witty with endearing characters, making it a must read.
Thank you netgalley for an arc of The Fall Risk by Abby Jiminez

This book was absolute gold. The perfect novella to read in a slump, with examples of the perfect boyfriend (x2). The sensitive topics in the story were necessary to the growth of the relationship, and also brought some humorous moments. The cast of characters was amazing!
Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read this novella and appreciate the genius of Abby Jimenez.

I keep hearing about how wonderful Abby Jimenez is so I was so excited to read this short story! I loved it! This short story made me run to the library and put some of her books on hold! I loved her writing and the character development, even in these few pages. This book was sweet, funny, and romantic. I can't wait to read more of her books! The perfect quick summer read. I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

The Fall Risk” was my first time reading Abby Jimenez, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s a short story, but it doesn’t shy away from tackling serious themes. Despite its length, it masterfully balances heartfelt moments with humor—I found myself laughing out loud more than once. Jimenez’s writing is both witty and emotional, and this little novella left a big impact.
What really stood out to me was how effortlessly she wove heavy topics into a light, engaging narrative. The characters felt real and vulnerable, even in such a limited word count. It’s not easy to make a reader care deeply in a short span, but Jimenez pulls it off with grace.
I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books; this story earned her a solid spot on my auto-read author list. If you’re in the mood for a quick, feel-good rom-com that still manages to tug at your heartstrings, “The Fall Risk” is an absolute gem. Highly recommend it for a cozy afternoon read—or anytime you need a little emotional uplift.

Read the book and find out.Quick weekend romantic read!

Only Abby can make me fall in love with not 1 but 2 couples in less than 100 pages. The banter was bantering and I love how Abby effortlessly weaves more serious topics into sugary sweet romcoms. I loved every minute of it! If I didn't already own and love every single one of Abby's books, I'd be SPRINTING to the store to get them expeditiously.

Warning: finishing this book may cause uncontrollable smiling, minor heartbreak, and an intense desire to move into fictional towns. Proceed at your own risk!
If this story has one flaw... it’s that it’s too short.
I fell in love — deeply, hopelessly — with Charlotte and Izzy, and the living, breathing green flags that walked right into their lives.
I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I wanted more pages. More laughter. More heart.
Because this isn’t just a story you read. It’s a place you step into — and you never want to leave.
Charlotte is a force of nature: strong, brave, and ready to stop running, to finally build a life in a place she can call home.
And Seth... Seth is the kind of man who feels too good to be real.
Kind. Funny. Self-aware. A little obsessed with tree puns — but trust me, you’ll love him anyway.
Izzy? We don’t know all her scars. We just know she’s survived enough to earn that razor-sharp wit and steel-spined loyalty.
She’s fierce, she’s brilliant... and without even trying, she became my favorite character.
In the end, it’s the kind of story that leaves you with a goofy grin, a full heart, and a desperate need for just one more chapter

Great short story BUT just like her last one, would have loved if it was a full length novel! Given the traumatic backstory of the main character, I would have loved to see her open up to her neighbour and see their story progress!

This was a super quick read that I almost wish had been turned into a full book. Seth & Charlotte were so cute & the stalker story kept me glued to the page.

This story is such a quick, delightful read. I love all things Abby Jimenez and this does not disappoint. Fabulous banter and characters make this easy to devour. Definitely recommend!

Stars: 3.5 rounded up to 4
I haven’t read Abby Jimenez before so when I saw a short novella, I thought it would be a good way to dip my toes in. Overall, I think she was able to develop the characters pretty well for a short story. There was good banter, protective friendships, and sassy grandmas. Along with a “we’re stuck together” trope that had an interesting spin.
Obviously in such a short space of time there is bound to be insta-love and it wasn’t entirely bad, despite my general distaste for it. The reason for reduction in stars is mainly because the main plot line was essentially resolved one 2 sentences and felt even more unrealistic than the insta-love. I just felt like the build up, the intensity of the situation fell flat.
I’m open to trying more from her, I’d like to see what a full length book is like because I did enjoy her characters.

4-4.25 stars
I am not usually a big Novella person but had to read it when it was written by Abby. The concept of this novella was so fun. it was fast paced and I finished it in one setting. It was a little but insta-lovey but I feel like it kind of has to be that was in a novella. But, I felt it was more the special feeling you get when you meet someone you know is going to be an important person in your life. Abby still confronted big issues while also having impeccable banter. I always enjoy everything she writes. Would definitely recommend this if you need a good novella.

This was a short but cute read, that had quite a lot of depth for its length.
This will probably work for a lot of people and if not, there wasn’t wasted a lot of time.
As for the plot, since it’s so short I won’t give any details other than that they are stuck together in a house.

The Fall Risk is a fun and romantic novella from Abby Jimenez. The title is fun because it's kind of a pun - the characters are at risk of falling in love but also of falling off their landing as the stairs to their apartments got accidentally removed. Overall cute and well done for the 70 or so pages it was.
THank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

A fun and fast-paced read! I loved the girl power throughout the story and the strong support Charlotte receives. It tackles a serious issue many women face and beautifully shows her journey to finding the courage to confront her attacker.

This was a good choice for me as I’ve never read from this author before. I think if I read her books 10-15 years ago I would like her a lot more but at this point, I don’t think this is the kind of romance I seek

Another great romance by Abby Jimenez! My only complaint is I wish it had been a full length novel.. however she did a great job of developing the characters so well in a novella.
