I must say, the Abby Jimenez hype is real!
She absolutely killed it in this short story under 100 pages that has it all: emotion, banter, humour chemistry, strong memorable characters with backstory and just as likeable sidekicks, insight into living with trauma, etc, all of which were so well-written and authentic.
I was taken with the book since the author's note on the first page. Somehow she manages to strike a perfect balance when exploring darker topics in a rom-com, doing justice to the story, cast and difficult subjects all at once.
Loved this book so much! Consider me a new fan and I can't wait to check out the rest of Abby's work.

OMG I laughed out loud so many times reading this. The story was cute, the characters were great. A definite funny cute story.

The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez is a short romance novella that was released on March 1st.
Any fan of Abby Jimenez knows that the romances are emotional and deal with some difficult subject matter. This short novella is no exception. As it is so short, all readers should know going in is that Seth and Charlotte live up to the characters that the author has created in the past and despite the length this story does pack an emotional punch. I would like to read a longer story involving these characters because there are many places a story like this could go.
Thank you to Amazon Original Studios and the author for making this story available to read via NetGalley for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I loved this novella. It was faced paced yet still had enough time to develop the romance between the characters. Both characters were fleshed out and dimensional. I only wish that this was a full length novel!

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰
Abby Jimenez delivers a short but utterly charming romance with The Fall Risk, blending humour, heart, and just the right amount of ridiculousness to make this a perfect, feel-good read.
Charlotte and Seth are two people who definitely aren’t looking for love. Charlotte is in self-imposed isolation thanks to a stalker, armed with emotional-support bear spray and an ironclad wariness of men. Meanwhile, Seth—an arborist fresh off a same-day divorce—isn’t exactly in the mood to trust anyone. But when fate (or just some really bad luck) leaves them stuck together on Valentine’s Day weekend, sparks start to fly in the most unexpected way.
This short story is packed with witty banter, laugh-out-loud moments, and undeniable chemistry. The forced proximity trope is executed brilliantly, making their connection feel organic despite the quick pacing. Jimenez does what she does best—delivering relatable, loveable characters and weaving in just enough emotional depth to balance the humour.
If you’re looking for a quick, cozy, and hilarious romance that’ll leave you grinning, The Fall Risk is a must-read. It’s the perfect bite-sized love story that proves sometimes, love finds you when you least expect it—even in the most inconvenient situations.

I got this from Amazon first reads for March first and I really adore Abby's writing! I wish this had come out on Valentine's Day but it's such a good spring feel! This is a novella so i's short and sweet for anyone needing to meet their book goal and it hits all the love points of a romance start to finish. There's wit, good/bad luck, good/bad circumstances! I can't wait for the author to release more! Thank you, Abby Jimenez, the publisher, and Netgalley for this digital arc!

4.75 stars!!!
super cute & entertaining !!! i love that it was short enough to read in one sitting but also i could have read a whole book's worth of this story!! i was cracking up & swooning. all-around incredibly cute romance 💞
also idk who i need to ask (beg) for a separate story centered around izzy & gabe but PLEASE !!!! i need it 😭
thank you Amazon Publishing & Netgalley for for the arc. this is my honest review.

This was a cute novella about Charlotte & Seth. They wake up one morning and the stairs leading up to their apartments have been torn down, leaving them stranded for the weekend. They end up spending the weekend together and Seth learns that Charlotte has a stalker.
It was a short, quick read. I really enjoyed Charlotte & Seth’s relationship and honestly wished that the book had been longer. The end felt VERY abrupt. I get it, it’s a novella, but it was super unbelievable and predicable. I still enjoyed it and would recommend to any Abby Jimenez fans!
Thank you to NetGalley for my copy!

The Fall Risk is my first book by Abby Jimenez, and it was a fantastic introduction to her work. I really enjoyed the story, and even though it was short, Abby Jimenez wrote a really good relationship dynamic. While this is a romantic comedy, it also addresses some serious topics, so I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings. I will definitely be picking up her other books as well. Thanks to Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a cute little short story from Abby Jimenez! I loved the unique premise and the fast pace. I thought a lot of depth was conveyed in just 82 pages.
Seth and Charlotte are stranded when their stairs get taken out of their apartment building, and they use the time to get to know each other and overcome past hurts and harmful circumstances.
This story was filled with swoony moments! I loved how Seth was so gentle and understanding about Charlotte's situation. He pursued her with such kindness. Charlotte had less personality to me, but I was glad she was her own advocate in the end. I could use 350 pages of story about Izzy and Gabe. They had about 20 sentences and I loved them!
If you want something quick and sweet, this would be a great choice! Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.

This novella is super quick, but packs a little punch. 3.5 stars, but I round up. When the contractors in their apartment building accidentally take down the wrong staircase, 2nd floor neighbors Seth and Charlotte are literally trapped together for the weekend. Timid Charlotte must open up to nerdy, yet muscular Seth in order to feel comfortable under circumstances that rightfully make her feel very uneasy. This quick, sweet forced-proximity story got me out of a reading slump.

I love the author and was excited to read her newest work. This story hit all of the feelings- from forced proximity romance, to women empowerment, to self defense, and to understanding! I love that it had a supportive mmc and a realistic main female character

I picked up this book in the middle of a reading slump — my son had hurt himself snowboarding and when our kiddos are down, a mama’s heart cannot focus on a book. Craving the comfort of a familiar writer, I finally read The Situationship (LOVED IT) and then decided to give this one a try too. Novellas aren’t usually my cup of tea because there isn’t enough pages to give me a fully fleshed out story, but somehow Abby does it! With less pages to offer, she still delivers characters that you root for, witty dialogue and a believable love story that unfolds in a quick bite-sized snack. I was lucky to read this one early for Amazon’s First Reads and it didn’t disappoint!

I ate this up! Loved it. Short, sweet & Abby 🫶 I enjoyed the storyline a lot & that we got a cutie valentines novella!! The way these two had me giddy & giggly I swear to god who doesn’t love neighbors to lovers!?!

The Fall Risk was a funny cute book with unforgettable characters!! We have neighbors Serh who loves to talk about trees and just got divorced and Chaorolette who knows how to defend herself with bear spray and when their adjoining staircase dissappears they meet on the landing!! Both are in need of a friend and with some witty funny banter when they are stranded without steps a friendship is formed!! As the few days go by enjoying morning coffee and dinner under string lights they both realize that sometimes romance is worth the Fall Risk!!

The Fall Risk by Abby Jimenez is a quick read with charming characters and witty dialogue. Charlotte and Seth have great chemistry, and their forced proximity setup creates plenty of cute and funny moments. The story blends humor with heavier themes like stalking and trust, adding some depth to what could have been a purely fluffy romance. However, the pacing felt a little too fast for such a serious backstory. The resolution of Charlotte’s situation with her stalker seemed a bit rushed, leaving some loose ends that would have benefitted from more exploration. Everything going on in the background of the relationship made their love feel less believable in such a short span of time. Despite those drawbacks, Jimenez’s writing style is engaging, and the banter between characters keeps the story enjoyable.

I have been so excited to jump into this story - I discovered Abby last year and read through all of her books so quickly. She became a ‘must read’ for me. I finally had a chance to read this one, and although it isn’t at the top of my list, I did love it.
It is amazing to me how she is able to fully develop a character so quickly and give the reader such a connection. This group of misfits (or so it seems) is so unexpected and I just love how the story sets up from the very beginning. As I’m writing this review, I realized the entire story takes place in the same setting. We have a few characters who come and go, and a few flashbacks, but I love that the overall story is so grounded.
Because it is a novella, things must move quickly, but none of the events felt too rushed or out of place. I was surprised by a few of the turns in the story, which I always appreciate.
Overall, if you’re a fan of Abby’s work, you will likely enjoy this one. If you haven’t read anything by her, I would recommend that you start with The Friend Zone instead of this one. I’m grateful for the opportunity to read this one early and now I’m anxiously awaiting the April release of her next full length novel!!

Badass FMC, MMC who will do anything he can to make her smile, it’s a classic Abby Jimenez story in just a couple of pages. Abby knows how to create characters you instantly love, the main couple but also their best friends falling in love? Loved

Everything you could want from an Abby short story. A great meet cute, all the feels, sizzling chemistry, and a heartwarming ending with a trip to ikea! I will absolutely read anything Abby writes and y'all I wish this story was 10 times longer but all that to say, it was the perfect thing to tide us over while we wait for say you'll remember me! 🥰
Thank you Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for the ARC in exchange for my review!

Such a fun quick cozy read! I love everything Abby puts out into the world and The Fall Risk is no exception.
