Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

This was an odd book that caught my eye on Netgalley. I was curious as to why it has so few reviews on goodreads, especially because it seems to be well written and a little different to your average shifter romance. I always enjoy paranormal romance, and I’ve read many of them over the years. I haven’t read any quite like this one.

Angela has always been a lone wolf, especially since her parents left their pack and traveled America. She doesn’t know she’s searching for something, or someone, until a chance meeting with handsome Grayson leads to her finding her “fated mate”. However, she knows that being fated to someone like Grayson is essentially a noose around her neck; she will never be able to travel again. Much of this novel is spent in the angst of will she/won’t she, and the constant back and forth was the reason I dropped a star. I felt like a little more time could have been spent on the romance and there is a “bad guy” character that is well, just a little silly. But I did enjoy most of this book. It has the cozy vibe I’ve been enjoying most with romance, and it’s generally fade to black with no obvious smutty scenes.

All in all I think this was a good read. It wasn’t perfect but it was close. Four stars.

When Angela stumbles upon her mate, Grayson she has to make the decision if she can live up to her mates and packs expectation or if she wants to continue going it alone.
I liked this book, but there wasn't any action. There was a lot of personal growth for a lot of the characters but with half the pack, a seer and the previous alpha against the new Luna and alpha I felt like it was kind of a disappointment, which makes me sound very harsh. I think if this book were setting up for some big fight in the next it would be a whole lot better.... But the epilogue jumped years ahead so we get no closure. Unfortunately 2 stars for me.

I really wanted to like this book, werewolves and young love (this was originally tagged as YA) is always a good combo of angst. However, something about the writing felt flat to me. I couldn't connect or empathize with the main characters. Based on some references in book I think they're around 25, but they don't act it. The tension felt forced, like we were told there should be tension, but otherwise wouldn't know. I really never felt like we hit a climax, it all felt very monotonous for me. There are some grammatical errors intermittent throughout which could really derail or hiccup my reading. I liked the concept but it needed more depth for me.
