Danica Pierce loves her job as a divorce attorney. She is given the opportunity to make partner. Ezra Hart is working the opposite side of Danica's case. There's a lot of miscommunication and lack of communication, and I felt there wasn't much of a connection between Danica and Ezra.

There’s nothing like a good audiobook to get you through a reading slump, and trust me, Lana Ferguson’s newest romance did not disappoint!

Thank you, Berkley and PRH Audio for the free physical and audio copies of 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝!

Read if you 🩷:
• 👔 Workplace Romance
• 🎙️ Duet Narration
• 💕 Rivals to Lovers
• 🤫 Not so secret hook-ups
• 🐈 Cats who think you’re visiting for them

This book—combined with Samantha Summers’s and Connor Crais’s seamless duet narration— somehow got me through more than half of the unpacking I need to complete! This is a long one folks, which makes sense, considering how Lana Ferguson always ensures a perfect balance of spice and plot in her romances.

Despite being rivals, Danica and Ezra have the best chemistry, and I love that we keep getting so many powerful and assertive women in romances lately! 👏However, I’ll admit that there were times where I was so intrigued by the court case, I would start speeding up the more romantic scenes. There were so many twists and turns and I found myself gasping out loud more than once!

If you’re looking for a hilarious and kickass romance with a surprising amount of heart, be sure to add 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 to your TBR today!

I haven’t read very many enemies to lovers trope before, but wow is it my new favourite trope 😍😍😍😍 The banter!! The spice!! WHEN THE ENEMIES FINALLY BECOME LOVERS 🩷🩷🩷🩷
I’m not too big on spice but it starts almost immediately right at the beginning of the book, and I know people love that 🤪🤪 The spice from his perspective was kinda fun and different too; we don’t usually get that.
I really enjoyed the different story-telling formats in here in addition to narrated story, like the texts and messages between characters. It adds so much to the story to see the dynamics between the characters.
I absolutely loved both of the main characters!! I loved the banter and the interactions between both of them. it was really fun to see the enemies are actively hooking up the whole time 🤪🤪 That doesn’t happen too often. This was literally a perfect read!!
Lana Ferguson knocked it out of the park once again!! I absolutely loved everything about this read; I would not change a single thing 🩷💜🩷💜
Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing and Lana Ferguson for this advanced copy, in exchange for an honest review 🩷🩷

Thank you so much @prhaudio for this gifted audiobook and @berkleyromance for the ARC!

“Tell me to leave, Dani.” Ezra’s voice is quiet now, and I can feel the warmth of his breath only inches from my mouth. “Or I’m going to kiss you. Tell me to leave, or you’re going to let me kiss you.”

Review Title & Vibes:
{NO OBJECTIONS YOUR HONOR} I absolutely thrive off these enemies to lovers vibes. Pitting two fiery divorce attorneys against each other in the courtroom and pairing them off with steamy rendezvous outside of it - I’m all in. Add in a slow burn emotional connection - I’m gonna rec this one to everyone.

Danica Pierce has so much riding on this case. Her complicated family dynamics (while loving) very much impact her take on love. Ezra Hart gives off BDE which he can definitely back up. I despised his family life. Thankfully, the justice makes this spicy romcom a win in the court of this girl’s opinion.

Things I Loved:
-The backstories-you get so much character growth and insight into their actions.
-THE JUSTICE-if you read any of my reviews you’ll see I will maniacally laugh (internally) at the bad guy(s) when they get their just desserts.
-The spice-it was the perfect about for these tropes and characters.
-The side characters Nate and Vera-hilarious commentary. And that grumpy brother Eli Hart?? Please tell me they get their own stories!

Audio Notes:
{duet} Samantha Summers and Connor Chris did a fantastic job with this audio the barbed banter. The chemistry was perfection! I highly recommend this audiobook.

It took me wayyyy to long to finish this! And honestly I just thought it was okay. This story follows Dani and Ezra both opposing lawyers in a messy divorce case but they secretly hookup up constantly even though Dani always says it's the last time. In the beginning I thought the banter and spice was soooo good! But as time went on the relationship got kind of boring. Dani started to realize her feel for Ezra and then messed it all up. I just felt like it was anything I haven't rea before. I did like the law part of this book and. The case that went on. But overall a okay book.

This starts off with a bang (pun intended) on the very first page.
I rather loved the way this unfolded.
Opposing council who don't really like each other, but have some fun despite that.
Much love to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing Group for my ebook.

This was so entertaining I laughed so much during this book and loved their bickering together all the time. Also I had the chance to listen to audiobook and that was a surprise for me because I didn’t think it would be duet narration and actually it was super super good. I can’t wait to read more books by Lana she is always a fun time

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the gifted copy of Overruled by Lana Ferguson! ♥️

This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year—I’m a big fan of Lana Ferguson’s writing—and while Overruled didn’t quite blow me away, I still enjoyed it.

I listened to the audiobook, which featured dual narration by Samantha Summers and Connor Crais. Both narrators did a fantastic job bringing the story to life, and I’d definitely recommend the audio format.

The workplace romance setting was fun, and the story was easy to follow with a good amount of spice. I was never bored while reading, which is always a win. That said, I didn’t feel fully invested in the romance itself. I love a love story that makes me swoon, and this one just didn’t hit quite as hard emotionally.

I thought Ezra’s character was well-developed and layered, but I found Danica a bit flat in comparison. She was likable, but I wanted more depth from her.

All in all, I’m glad I read this and still recommend it—especially if you enjoy steamy workplace romances. A 3-star rating from me doesn’t mean it won’t be a 5-star read for someone else. I’ll absolutely be picking up Lana Ferguson’s next release!

such a great read!

i really enjoyed the premise of the book, i loved seeing these two explore their attraction and relationship with one another, and see their love for each other deepen. it was a really quick, fast paced, enjoyable read, with a bingeable plot, as well as amazing romance between the characters!

definitely recommend if you’re in the need for a fun, fast-paced, romance!

Perfectly charming. Danica and Ezra have some of the most incredible chemistry i have ever read - it leapt off the page. Workplace rivals can often feel overdone now, but their competitive nature really fuel the fire and kept the sparks flying. I also loved the emotional development both of them went through - especially Ezra with his family.

Thank you so much to @berkleypub and @netgalley for this ARC!

Well I was straight up invested in this from page one! If you’re looking for a slow burn romance, this one may not be it as it hits you straight on with Lana Ferguson‘s signature spice. Holy cow, was I here for it!

Lana is an auto buy author for me and she did not disappoint!

This book follows two rival lawyers who happen to also be hook up buddies. When they get a case opposite each other, it’s hard to fight or hide the feelings they’re both starting to feel for one another.

This book has humor, depth and spice and the audiobook was top notch too!

hot shot lawyer meets other hot shot lawyer and they're business in the streets, but freaks in the sheets.

danica & ezra were literally made for one another. they're both stubborn, pretty closed-off, and struggling with baggage from their family. ezra's is arguably much MUCH worse than danica's, but it is what it is. i enjoyed how they were able to come together and work through this baggage with one another and leads them into their undeniable chemistry and connection.

i would definitely recommend this book if you like:
» enemies to lovers
» workplace romance
» forced proximity
» opposing counsel that's secretly hooking up
» family coming together

I had the best time reading this! I thought the storyline was well written and definitely kept me engaged! I felt like I was part of the case trying to figure everything out. l blushed more times than I can count and I was living for the banter between Ezra and Dani!!

Dani and Ezra are rival divorce lawyers in Austin who can't seem to keep their hands off of each other outside of the courtroom. When Dani lands the most important case of her career, she insists on cutting ties with Ezra. However, Ezra has something else in mind: showing Dani that he is the right man for her and that he is more than just a playboy.

I absolutely loved this enemies with benefits courtroom romance. The spice was just right, the banter between Ezra and Dani was top tier. I loved learning about Ezra's past and what he did to prove to Dani how well they would work together. He constantly showed up for her and he was the sweetest book boyfriend. Dani also had some issues to work through and I LOVED how they worked through it all together. Well done Lana Ferguson on this relationship and character development!!

Thank you NetGalley, Berkley Publishing, and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Absolutely LOVED this! It was such a hot, unputdownable rom-com that had me giggling, swooning, and breathless from start to finish! This is everything I want in a romance - sharp banter, electric chemistry, high-stakes courtroom drama, and characters who feel so real you want to crawl inside the book and root for them in person.

Danica Pierce is fierce, focused, and unapologetically ambitious. Watching her navigate the legal battlefield while trying (and failing) to keep her distance from Ezra was a total delight. And oh, Ezra Hart. I swear, this man made my heart flutter with every flirty grin and emotionally vulnerable moment. He’s suave, lethal in court, yet so tender underneath the charm. It was impossible not to fall for him! His relationship with his mom added an unexpected depth that completely broke and healed my heart.

The courtroom scenes were amazing and I lived for them! They were tense, smart, and charged with so much energy between them. I honestly wish there were even more, those scenes were addictively sooo good!

And don’t get me started on Dani and Ezra’s dynamic. They had me giggling, kicking my feet, and clutching my chest like a lovesick fool. The enemies-to-lovers and workplace rivals tropes are executed perfectly. There was just the right amount of angst, banter, and heart-melting sweetness.

The writing was fast-paced, fresh, and compulsively readable. I devoured this in one sitting and would happily do it again. It’s the kind of book you finish with a satisfied sigh and immediately recommend to your best friends.

This book deserves a spot at the top of your summer TBR. It’s steamy, smart, emotionally rich, and so much fun. I can’t wait to read more from Lana Ferguson!

My copy of this book was provided by NetGalley and Berkley for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"Overruled' feels like a mix of the TV show "Bull" and Sally Thorne's "The Hating Game." The story didn't hook me - it immediately opens with hate-filled hookups, but there is no explanation of how we got there. I held on through all kinds of character introductions and surface-level interactions, but it still wasn't clear where the chemistry was when there finally was a hint of connection a third of the way in. Ezra and Dani have their own conflicts and plots, but don't fit together well.

Erza has a lot to deal with and makes the effort to communicate and connect. Dani feels sorry for herself and is an antagonistic brat without reason. Their romance doesn't feel like a coherent story so much as a listing of popular tropes.

I'm a little baffled by the progression of Lana Ferguson's writing. I appreciate how each of her books explores a completely different idea, but something feels different a bout her recent releases. I'm missing the depth of character and connection from her earlier titles.

Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an eARC.

As a trial lawyer myself, I was so excited for this spicy courtroom romance release! I did enjoy it overall, but I would have liked the story better if it was more slow burn, tension building, more witty banter instead of the spicy banging starting on page one and operating in reverse to explain what were at first to me unlikable characters doing things I didn’t care for or feel a connection to. That being said, I did like the character development that came eventually - complex, toxic pasts with family and prior relationships that explain their casual and complicated sexual behavior, eventually turning into a HEA.

Thank you so much to Lana, Berkley, and NetGalley for the e-galley!

Oh how much I loved this one! Overrulesd was my first book by Lana Ferguson - which is a surprise since I have all of her backlog on my book shelf! I really was pleasantly surprised. This story was unlike other romances I've read as the two main characters were already in an intimate relationship at the very start of the book. This meant that there wasn't that moment of coming together that we're used to reading (but there were moments of coming together if you catch my drift!!!!). I loved the aspect of two lawyers on opposing sides in the courtroom. I also thought that Ezra's dad being the big boss made for some great insight into Ezra's life. This story also had a "mystery" aspect to it which I found interesting. I really wanted to keep listening to this court battle to see how everything would play out. I will definitely be going back to read all of Lana's other books after reading this one! Thank you Berkley Romance for the eARC and physical finished copy of this book!

I don't know how Lana does it but I didn't see that coming! Always suck a quick and easy read and captures my attention from the very beginning.

EN : I surprisingly enjoyed the rivals-with-benefits trope (which I don't usually like) and the fact that both characters were lawyers (the story with their clients was pretty interesting). I liked seeing their relationship's development and how Ezra waited for Dani (we love it when "he falls first"). Overall, it was a good read, but nothing remarkable.
