Every Hour Until Then by Gabrielle Meyer beautifully blends two time periods together into one intriguing tale. I liked the female and male main characters. I like how the romance played out. I thought it was sweet. I could tell that the author did her research regarding Jack the Ripper. There are many different theories, and the author gave me something to ponder. I like how the author weaved Jack the Ripper into both time periods (there are gruesome details). All the pieces came together to make an intriguing tale. There are twists and turns to keep a reader off balance. Faith is nicely knit into the story. The pearl of wisdom that I gathered is that God’s plans are always better than our own (man plans and God laughs). The story has suspense, mystery, a touch of romance, and faith. Every Hour Until Then Is the fifth book in the Timeless series and it can be read as a standalone. Every Hour Until Then is a captivating tale with temporal translocation, a search for a sister, curating a collection, a serial killer, an approaching conflict, a parental problem, and a fantastic future.

Yet another riveting and amazing installment in the Timeless series, Every Hour Until Then is a fascinating imagining around the Jack the Ripper story. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time...it was absolutely fascinating and the twists that Gabrielle throws in are just mind blowing. However, she always ties it back to the fact that God is sovereign and His will and plan are perfect! I love that part. I'm already eagerly anticipating the next one!

There’s something truly special about the way this author writes-how she effortlessly blends rich historical fiction with time travel and deeply human, character-driven storytelling. Her books have become some of my ultimate comfort reads- filled with emotion, mystery, and the kind of immersive worlds you never want to leave. I can’t get enough of her work, and this newest installment only deepens that admiration.
In a world divided by time and bound by fate, Kathryn Whitmore lives a double life-one as a rising historian in the glittering whirlwind of 1938 Washington, D.C., and the other in the gaslit shadows of 1888 London. By day, she’s curating a controversial exhibit on one of history’s most infamous killers. By night…drawn by a force she can’t explain, she walks the fog-drenched cobblestone streets of Victorian London, where a brutal murderer lurks in the darkness and secrets refuse to stay buried.
When Kathryn discovers that her own sister’s name appears on a list of future victims, her obsession becomes personal. With time fraying at the edges and history unwilling to be rewritten, Kathryn must rely on her wit, courage, and the unexpected help of a childhood friend-now a brooding detective with secrets of his own.
As the past and present collide, Kathryn faces an impossible choice: expose a truth the world was never meant to know-or sacrifice everything to save the one person she loves most. A tale of love, time…this gripping journey through two eras proves that every decision can echo across the centuries.

What a brilliant page-turner! This series just keeps getting better and better. Just when I think I've read every plot that can be written about time-crossers, Gabrielle Meyer manages to surprise me... again!
Every Hour Until Then is probably the most tension-filled and twistiest Timeless book yet! We get the suspense from a murder mystery mixed with the melodrama and heartbreaking romance.
Kathryn lives two lives - as Kathryn Kelly in 1888, and Kathryn Voland in 1938. She goes back and forth when she falls asleep in one timeline, until she has to choose one to stay in when she turns 25.
In 1888, Jack the Ripper was just starting to stir the world with his gruesome murders, while in 1938 he has become infamous for the way he left his victims, while not getting caught. When she finds out her sister is bound to become the last of his victims, Kathryn throws everything on the line to save her - risking forfeiting that timeline and her own chance at happiness.
So many emotions felt in this one! The horror of the deaths themselves, the mystery of Jack the Ripper's identity, fear for the brewing world war, uncertainty for what's to come, helplessness in fighting against time and what history has already set in stone. All of this will surely take you through the ringer and back again.
Given that Kathryn's two lives are just 50 years apart, they're prone to overlapping. That plot element was cleverly used in the story, and the way that everything tied up by the end was just GENIUS!

Every time when I finish a book in this series, I think "This is the best yet", but honestly, they're all so very good!! I'm amazed at how the author comes up with original twists and turns and makes each new title original! This was a wonderful adventure and I hope the series will continue.

I loved the setup for this story. Kathryn's sister in 1888 disappears right as Jack the Ripper starts his reign of terror. In 1938, Kathryn is researching Jack the Ripper and finds that her sister is his last victim. Kathryn knows that if she changes history, she forfeits her life in that time period. This was a fascinating read. As much as we hate to admit it, Jack the Ripper is very mysterious and interesting. It was intriguing seeing some possible interpretations of his life fleshed out. There were unexpected twists. It felt sinister and dangerous in both time periods at times. Knowing the date things were to happen in the past lends urgency to the investigation.
It was also interesting that Kathryn in the future could possible run into people she knows from her earlier life, maybe even herself. It raises a lot of thought-provoking questions to think about. I liked it and would recommend it.
Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is the first time-crossing novel I've read. It deftly weaves together storylines from 1888 and 1938. The author does a good job of pulling you forward in a quest to learn more. The characters are well developed, and I like the natural way the author weaves faith into the storyline. It was a read that kept me engaged the whole time.

"Why is the world so broken?" I asked her, tears in my voice.
She gently took my hand. "Because the hearts and the minds of her people are broken. And until we stop fearing our neighbors, and love them as Jesus commanded, there will be war and hatred and anger. Fear has the power to cause an entire nation to rise up and kill her perceived enemies. Just imagine what love could do if we'd let it.
Every Hour Until Then by Gabrielle Meyer
This is one book that after finishing it I wanted to start all over again. It left my head spinning, my heart racing, and I literally consumed it in one day. I couldn't read it fast enough, while simultaneously not wanting the book to end.
I would have devoured it in one sitting, if I didn't have some adult responsibilities and family things to attend to (doctor appt, nephew's birthday party, make dinner). But I finished just before midnight on the day I started. Did I put off so many other adult responsibilities, like eat lunch and pack for our trip? Yes! Was I tired the next day and had to go to work, pack for our trip, etc.? Also yes! Did I regret it? No!
The Christian Themes:
The Christian themes in this one were especially poignant for me. I felt like they spoke to my soul and heart. I'm at a few crossroads in my life right now, trying to decide which path is what my Heavenly Father wants me to do. Nothing so dire as what Kathryn faces in Every Hour until Then, but important to my specific life. I really loved her journey, and coming to embrace and really rely on God throughout it. It's truly beautiful.
The Mystery, Suspense, and Plot Twists:
Wow oh Wow! This book literally had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, and literally gasping out loud multiple times! I wish I would have filmed my reactions. But seriously, the tension and suspense were deliciously eerie and chilling to the bone. When the main character said she had chills running down her spine, I got chills. The plot was very twisty and there were so many surprises I never in a million years saw coming.
Now, I want to go and do my own research surrounding this time period, because I have a weird fascination with it, even before reading this story.
*I feel that my first photo perfectly illustrates the mood of Victorian England in this one. That time period really fascinates me. I love Gothic, spooky books filled with mystery, so this book was seriously so perfect! (That's a gross understatement, but just roll with it.;)
The Characters:
I loved the main character of Kathryn. She is so determined and strong-willed. And loves so fiercely!
I also adored her mama and papa in 1938. I was frustrated with her sister sometimes, but that's how it's supposed to be.
Austen is perfectly grumpy, and rightfully so! I really enjoyed getting to know him and his journey. And the journey Kate and Austen go on together to solve the mystery. Their beautiful connection and the angst between them was well-written. The raw emotions were very powerfully felt.
I can't say enough good things about this one. It is definitely a new favorite. I'm not even going to mention what this story is about, in case you want to go in blind. I would suggest not reading the back of the book if you want to be 100% surprised. But see my content warnings if you have a bit of a squeamish stomach.
Gabrielle Meyer is a brilliant author. I'm really not sure she can top this one. This series keeps getting better and better.
I did an immersive read of this one, listening to the audiobook while I held the book in my hands, marking my favorite parts and quotes, and honestly it was the best experience! The audio is top-notch!
If this series is not yet on your tbr, DO YOURSELF a favor and get it on there. If it is on your tbr, move it ALL the way to the top and make it a priority. Haha, sorry, not sorry to sound so pushy. There are only 2 more books left to be published in the series! So if you are just waiting for the last two to be published, you don't have long to wait.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the review copy. All gushings and ravings are my own.

At first reading about Jack the Ripper was really hard. But I kept with it and was very glad I did.
I absolutely knew Kathryn had only one love interest unlike the other books in the series.
The last third or so of the book was very involved. I can't even imagine how Gabrielle Meyer kept up with all the things that were going on. But she IS an excellent writer.
I did find myself getting nervous over all that was happening.
I loved reading the author's notes at the end. In fact I looked forward to that all through the book so I could understand her thought process and how she planned and wrote this story.
This book was her closest to a typical dual timeline of all this series. I am not a fan of those but this story held me captive.
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

‘I considered all the obstacles before me, I had to remind myself that even if I unlocked the secret to Jack the Ripper’s identity, there was little I could do about it. My only concern was saving my sisters, though I was starting to fear that I might get entangled in Jack’s funny little game after all.’
Talk about a gripping setup! This book hooked me from page one and didn’t let go. Gabrielle Meyer has crafted a masterful blend of suspense, romance, and historical intrigue that had me fully invested in both timelines.
THIS SERIES IS SERIOUSLY AMAZING! I REALLY CANNOT GET ENOUGH!
The Jack the Ripper theme running through this novel gave it just the right amount of suspense—it absolutely gave me the chills—but it never crossed the line into nightmare territory. I loved that balance. It felt immersive without being overwhelming.
And those timelines? Flawless. Whether I was in 1888 Victorian London or 1938 Washington, DC, I was captivated. The mystery, the pacing, the clues across decades—it was all so smartly woven together.
Now let’s talk about the romance 😍 The swoon factor was high, and I had a favorite from the beginning (you’ll see what I mean), but Meyer kept me guessing the whole way through. The twists and turns had me turning pages long past my bedtime. No spoilers here, but trust me: the ending is worth every moment of the journey.
If you love dual timelines, historical mystery, strong heroines, and slow-burn romance—with just the right amount of suspense/mystery—this book is a must-read.
Five stars, 10/10, clean, romantic, suspenseful with perfectly placed clues, and completely unputdownable. I can’t recommend this one enough, friends! It will be available May 20th - Preorder this one today so you’re ready to start reading as soon as it drops!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Content/Triggers: death scenes mentioned and briefly described, murders, mentions of female prostitutes in poor areas of England, mild suspense/peril, romance—kisses only.

I’ve been firmly entranced by Gabrielle Meyer’s amazing Timeless series for a while now and I was deeply mesmerized by Book 5. They don’t necessarily need to be read in order, as each story tells the tale of a girl who has a mark that allows her to live one day in one time period and when she wakes up, she’s in a different time period, alternating each night as she goes to sleep. In this installment, Kathryn lives in the dual timelines of 1888 and 1938, during the height of the terror of Jack the Ripper and on the cusp of WWII.
Kathryn is extremely headstrong, as she knows exactly which timeline she’ll choose to stay in on her 25th birthday and is fiercely loyal to her family–even at the expense of forfeiting her life and possibly altering history. She’s tenacious, intense, and splendid, and I admired the way she was able to reconnect with her childhood friend, Austen, in a race to save her sister from the trepidation that afflicted the time. But as the story progressed and her personality took a shift, I grew to appreciate her even more.
I was deeply astounded at the way Meyer brought this timeless mystery into another timeline and created something shocking, twisty, and haunting. I furiously sped through these pages, devouring every word, interaction, and plot twist.
This story is truly amazing and I can’t recommend this book (and whole series) enough.
Content: death/murder but not too graphic (some detail); talk of prostitutes, war, evil; mild+ religion; mild romance

What book did you read over the weekend? I read Every Hour Until Then by Gabrielle Meyer while camping this weekend and I couldn’t put this book down!
Kathryn lives in two worlds. In 1888, she is a Victorian lady from a rich and socially prominent family while in 1938 she is a museum curator putting together an exhibit for the British Museum on Jack the Ripper. She lives a day in one world, goes to sleep, and then wakes up in the other. She has until the age of 25 to pick the timeline that she would like to live in forever. As she goes through the material for the museum exhibit in 1938, she realizes that her beloved sister in 1888 is Jack the Ripper’s last victim. How can she save her sister in 1888, but not impact history?
My thoughts on this novel:
• This is the fifth book in the timeless series. I seem to love each book even more than the last book. This book can be read as a standalone, but it’s fun to see returning characters from other books and know their back stories.
• I really liked how Kathryn was able to use both timelines to put together the clues to solve the mystery of her sister’s exile from her family, and to solve the ultimate mystery of who was Jack the Ripper. It definitely kept me riveted!! I have always been fascinated by Jack the Ripper and I though author Gabrielle Meyer really put the facts together in an engaging way while also putting together an interesting theory of who the Ripper was and why he committed his crimes.
• The love between Kathryn and Austen in 1888 was palpable and alive. I greatly enjoyed their romance. It was very poignant in the future timeline when she saw old Austen from afar and he would not come to her.
• This is a clean read. There is some kissing. Jack the Ripper and his crimes are discussed, but they happen off screen and the story doesn’t go into detail on the gruesomeness of the crimes.
• There were lots of goodies at the end of this novel including an author’s note, historical note, a chapter from the next novel, and discussion questions. I can’t wait for November and the next novel in this series – Through Each Tomorrow. One setting is Fredericksburg, Virginia. I have visited that beautiful city a few times in my life.
Overall, Every Hour Until Then is a captivating time travel historical romance with plenty of mystery and suspense and great characters. I highly recommend it and this entire series!

“You’ve always been my greatest adventure, Kate.”
All the stars!!! Every Hour Until Then is a new favorite, thrilling, time slip adventure in the Timeless series. Gabrielle Meyer delivers a fascinating, history infused, heart achingly lovely, forbidden, friends to more romance with spine tingling suspense, & a touch of faith. Set in 1888, England during the horrific Jack the Ripper murders & 1938 in the lead up to WWII, this book kept me enthralled as one woman tries to save her sister from being the 5th victim of history’s most notorious killer.
Kathryn Kelly’s a time crosser with two different lives. One morning she wakes up in 1888, London & the next in 1938, Washington D.C. In 1888, her beloved sister Mary discovers a terrible secret & forced to leave their parents’ home without explanation. Vowing to find her sister & the secret, she discovers a heart-wrenching truth.
In 1938, Kate eagerly accepts the invitation to be a guest curator at the London Museum. It’s the 50th anniversary of the Ripper murders & the museum is featuring a groundbreaking exhibit. As Kate researches, she discovers a shocking fact, her sister Mary is Jack’s fifth victim. Determined to change history & prevent her sister’s murder, she enlists her best friend Austen’s help in 1888. But changing history comes with a cost, she’ll forfeit her life in 1888. Can she defeat a diabolical killer & change the past?
I loved this story! Told with gripping historical detail, it was impossible to put down. I’ve always been fascinated by Jack the Ripper & read endless theories as to who he was. I loved this author’s spin on his identity. The pulse pounding story kept me on my toes with a twist at the end I didn’t see coming. There were several suspects I had my eye on & wow was I surprised!
Kate’s & Austen’s romance was heart achingly lovely. She’s told Austen she’ll choose 1938 when the time comes, but that doesn’t prevent love from blossoming. Their first kiss is both terrifying & thrilling!
I loved seeing familiar faces again & can’t wait for the next adventure. Highly recommend this not to miss story! Please note there are factual descriptions of Jack the Ripper’s murders which sensitive readers might want to be aware of. I received an advanced copy from the author & publisher with no expectation of a positive review & also purchased the audiobook from Audible. All opinions are completely my own & voluntarily provided.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this #gifted book!*

Synopsis: Kathryn lives in two different time periods—1888 and 1938. As a museum curator in 1938, Kathryn is tasked with working on a Jack the Ripper exhibit and soon discovers her sister’s name as the final victim in 1888. Kathryn knows the rules of time crossing: if she knowingly changes history, she forfeits that path. But she can’t just stand aside and watch her sister be murdered. If Kathryn discovers who this mysterious murderer is, she might be able to save her sister, but she may lose the man she loves. As secrets unfold, Kathryn finds herself in a race against time and faced with a heartbreaking choice: save her beloved sister or stay with the love of her life?
Analysis: Historical fiction meets suspense meets mystery in the 5th book in the Timeless Series, and I am here for it! Gabrielle is a mastermind and master storyteller. Somehow each book in this series gets more fascinating! This book has the compelling characters that we’ve all come to know and love in Gabrielle’s writing. The romance is a sweet, slow-burn that you’ll be falling for right alongside the main characters, and the plot in this book takes the time crossing to a whole new level! I loved learning more about the rules of this gift. And the suspense/mystery?! There are twists and turns right until the very end! You’ll want to set aside 24 hours to binge this book because you won’t be able to put it down. Obviously, I’ve loved all the Timeless books, but this may be my favorite one yet! I can’t wait to see what Gabrielle writes next!

I love this series so much. Meyer never misses.
I felt like I was reading a thriller with this one. I could NOT put it down. I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering how the mystery would play out. (Note that I don't read a lot of thillers, do with that information what you will.)
I love how Meyer makes each book unique. It's not the same story told again in a different setting, it's a whole new story with new risks and personality.
One storyline did feel like it had more going on than the other but I think that was the nature of how this one was set up, and it was quite ingenious if you ask me.

Overall I enjoyed this one. The end was a little odd for me but I did liked the storyline and was hooked immediately. However I predicted almost all the twists which was a bummer for me.

This is the 5th book in the Timeless series and I swear each book just keeps getting better. This is definitely my new favorite in the series. I loved how closely related Kathryn’s two paths were, it made the story flow seamlessly and I was equally invested in both paths. It gave major thriller vibes with the Jack the Ripper plot and I was on the edge of my seat. The romance was very sweet, but I actually liked that it didn’t feel like the main focus of the plot. I could not put this book down and stayed up way too late reading. The plot was so twisty, intricate and well-developed! Gabrielle Meyer is a masterful storyteller!

I have enjoyed every one of the books in this series and found this one to be every bit as hard to put down! It was different from the others, with having more of a mystery rather than just what time period the time traveler will chose. I thought that the author did a good job of weaving fact and fiction together, though the mystery behind who Jack the Ripper was (in this book) wound up being kind of different. This one is darker than the others have been, since it deals with a serial killer.

The Timeless series just keeps getting better! This brilliantly plotted dual-timeline story captured me from the beginning and kept me in its grip until I turned the last page with a satisfied sigh. Compelling, expertly crafted characters stirred my emotions and resonated with me long after I finished the story. The history is amazing with the exploration of a theory as to the identity of Jack the Ripper and his motivation for killing and vivid snapshots of life in 1888 and 1938 London. The development of the romantic relationship between Kathryn and Austen is
heartwarming and at times heartbreaking. I appreciate the thought-provoking faith themes focusing on the sovereignty of God and the importance of seeking His will. This is my favorite of the phenomenal time-crossing books so far, and I am including this book on my Best Reads Ever list, alongside the other four exceptional reads in the series. I highly recommend this book and the series as must reads for time travel and Historical Romance fans! NOTE: Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but reading the books in order will provide background information that will enrich your reading experience.
I read an advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

One of the things I get the most excited every new year is getting more books in the Timeless series. These books truly have it all— captivating characters, unmatched suspense, inspiring faith, interesting history, and compelling love stories. Every Hour Until Then was no different! These books play out like a movie in my head and I absolutley love that!👏🏼
Characters in the Timeless series come alive for me and I love that!
Kathryn and Austen felt so real and I loved them! Their chemistry was everything.🫶🏼
Kathryn was a great heroine and I loved getting her story! It was so special reading about Grace and Luc’s daughter, and I loved seeing them again in this book.🥰
I adored Austen! I wanted to give him the biggest hug the whole time.🥺 He was simply the best.❤️ Gabrielle writes the best heroes!
As I said before, Kathryn and Austen’s chemistry was perfect! Best friends to lovers is my favorite trope and I adored their story! The tension between the two was palpable. Their dialogue and banter was wonderful.❤️
The storyline of this book was extremely interesting! The suspense was incredible! I literally could not put this book down. I had no idea what was going to happen next! Just when I thought I had it figured out, there was a plot twist that I did not see coming. I loved it!
Content notes: This book is clean. There are some brief descriptions of the horrific murders that were gory/gruesome. I am pretty sensitive to gruesome/gory details so there were a few parts I skimmed in this book regarding the murders. That being said, Gabrielle did a great job of weaving in the history without adding too much violence given the subject. It was kept brief and can easily be skimmed if needed.
The ending was absolutely perfect and so emotional.🥹
In conclusion, I absolutely loved this book! I do not want this series to end! If you’re looking for Christian fiction with a unique storyline, look no further! I literally can’t wait for the next book in this series.
