3⭐️ I do like Annah Conwell. I’ve liked a couple of her books. But sometimes her stories don’t have a well thought out plot and have nothing in them to hook you. And sadly this one fell in that vein.

Also. This isn’t a romantic comedy. We need to stop labeling every single contemporary romance a romantic comedy. Because most of them are not, and this one was not. I didn’t laugh once.

I didn’t love the characters. They were fine but I didn’t love them. The MMC was very sweet but one dimensional. No personality for either of the MCs. Like really. There was nothing about them that made me relate. And for real they had no chemistry. Very lacking in the romance department.

I have no qualms with the audiobook at all. I enjoyed both of the narrators. And that is not an easy feat. But this story itself was not fun to listen too. I found myself bored for most of it and did not get into the story. Nothing really happened, and it honestly wasn’t memorable. What happened for real though.

I did like the first book in this series so this was disappointing.

DNF at 30%. I love a brother’s best friend trope and the plot sounded super cute - I just couldn’t get into it! The narrators sounded a bit too robotic for me.

This was a cute pg romance. I did not realize this was a fourth book….whoops. This story was cute and fun but definitely deep at times. Even with it being pg the romance was still enjoyable.

This was a fun and enjoyable dual pov sibling's best friend/best friend's sibling romance. Although was a solid read, it didn't give me all the feels for the characters to up the star count.
Great read by the narrators.

First thing’s first: thank you Netgalley for the ALC of this book!
But He’s My Roommate was a classic hallmark movie type romance book. It was cozy and predictable and warm and fuzzy. The characters were sweet and the circumstances were risky, but not too risky. I enjoyed this one, but nothing about it was memorable.
This was the last of an interconnected standalone series and also the only one I’ve read. I may have enjoyed it more if I’d read the other books in the series, but I certainly didn’t feel like I was missing anything for having not.

I did not realize this was book 4 in a series! I want to go read the others, everyone is so cute & supportive of each other.
This is a cute sort of second chance romance with found family.

About this listen
I’m being forced to move in with my brother’s best friend. After my life falls apart, the last person I want to face is my childhood crush.
Much less live with him. Unfortunately for me, my overprotective brother and his equally overprotective best friend show up on my doorstep and don’t take no for an answer. I put up my best fight, but it’s no use. Soon enough, I’m boarding a plane with them and my newborn son.
All I want is to pick up the pieces of my life alone, but everywhere I turn it seems like Maverick Carter is there waiting to help.
He makes it difficult to keep my distance, but I know I have to. Because he deserves so much better than me.

I love the Carter brothers! This series is fun, clean, and full of heart, humor, wit, and love!

Evie and Maverick are so sweet together. I love their deep friendship and the way that they care for each other. Their emotional connection has been building throughout years of friendship and once they let their guards down, their chemistry is just as strong.

This is book 4 in the series, and while it can be enjoyed as a stand alone, I think the books are more enjoyable in order. Since the series follows a close knit family, the MCs from all of the books pop up throughout the series and it's fun to see different sides to them in each others books.

The narrators for the audiobook were fantastic. They were engaging and really brought the story to life.

This was a perfect conclusion to a fantastic series! I loved the addition of a bonus epilogue for each couple.

Evie and Maverick were the cutest. From the beginning Mav wanted to help and take care of Evie and Baby Beckham. With the help of Maverick and her Brother, Evie left New York and moved in with Maverick to start over after her divorce. Mav is there to help Evie when she wants/needs it or not. It was great to see their feelings for each other go from friends to more. Mac always had those feeling for her and so did Evie but it took her a while to come to grips with them and admit them to herself and act on them. Maverick meeting her ex husband Ezra was pretty great. The outcome could have gone in several different directions but I’m glad it went the way that it did.
This was the first book of the Carter brothers series I listened to and it was easy to keep up with the other Carter siblings. I listened to the Audio of this book and the narrators really brought the characters to life and did a great job with them.
Thank you to Annah and Netgalley for my review copy. These words are my own.

This novel is actually book four in the But He’s a Carter Brother series. I have also read book one. I had no trouble jumping into this one, even though I do plan to go back and read the middle books of the series because I like all of the characters so much.

The narration was wonderfully done! The voices for both characters were just right and I loved listening to the dual narration. And the storyline just captured my heart! I loved that it was essentially an older brother’s best friend novel, yet these two were also friends in the past in their own right, as well. And finally, it was a “he takes care of her” scenario, as well. Even though Evie pushed back a lot as Mav tried to help her and give her the stable support she needed. I liked the way she eventually softened and realized how much he cared for her.

This story was packed with sweet and swoony moments and also moments of healing. When both Mav and Evie separately began to realize that they loved each other and when Evie realized that Mav actually shared the feelings she was having…so perfect! And the fact that Mav jumped right in and loved Evie’s little baby boy…well, it was beautiful!

I received a complimentary copy of this audio book. All opinions are my own.

Evie’s life is turned upside down. As a new and single mom, she is distraught when she is let go of her amazing photography job and now cannot make ends meet. Evie’s brother and his best friend, Maverick, fly to NYC to try to convince Evie to come home to Georgia. Maverick, who has had a longtime crush on Evie, convinces her to move into an apartment on his property. He was written as the ever-loving sweet guy that would do anything for Evie as Evie was written as the girl whose life is a mess and who constantly has mental breakdowns. Evie’s baby, I thought would have a larger role but was only mentioned some of the time. The banter between Evie and Maverick was great as always. I haven’t read the first 3 Carter brother books, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying this one.

This was a cute and clean romance book. This is the first I've read by this author and I'll definitely read more. I don't recommend starting with this one since it's the fourth in the series if you don't spoilers. I don't mind spoilers though and I actually search them out often 😂. Anyway, this book was a good even though I got frustrated with the female mc. I understand why she was written the way she is and that made easier. I felt like sometimes the story was a bit choppy but it didn't dull my enjoyment. As I said I'll definitely go back and read the others in this series.
🌶️There is some kissing and some sexy talk but it doesn't go any further.
🤫 No bad language

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting listen to this audiobook.

But He’s My Roommate is the final book in the But He’s a Carter Brother series by Annah Conwell. Each story stands alone with interconnected characters but reading the entire series is ever so much more enjoyable!

Maverick Carter’s best friend Drew Wilder has called upon him for help. Drew believes his younger sister Evie, also a good friend, is in trouble. A fashion photographer in NYC, Evie married a top male model and has a young baby, but the phone call Drew’s wife received from Evie seemed that of a panicked new mom who seemed to have no backup. As such, Maverick finds himself on a flight to New York with Drew and a sketchy plan to help a resistant Evie. What Maverick and Drew find is a little sister who refuses to see them when they arrive, will meet briefly the next day before she leaves in a huff, and who does agree to meet Maverick the next day when he comes back bearing gifts.

As job opportunities disappear in NYC and the opportunity for a different life back home in Atlanta appears, Evie, with Maverick’s help, packs up her belongings and accompanies Maverick back home to take up residence with baby Beckham in Mav’s second floor apartment.

Once settled, family and friends embrace Evie back into the fold, and her new life begins to blossom, with Maverick at the forefront of her new life. This is a fun book with great characters but with some bittersweet moments. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it as well as the series.

Evie is alone with her baby and an unknown future. When her brother unexpectedly comes to town with Maverick, they try to convince her to come home.

Ohmylanta. These Carter brothers get all the heart eyes. The author calls this series a cozy romantic comedy and it’s exactly right. There are so many heartfelt moments as she finds her way to happy. And Maverick. Oooowwweee. He’s the knight in a shiny truck and motorcycle kind of armor. And I loved…
❤️the brothers and their epilogues
❤️the wives and their support
❤️Mav and Evie’s mama memories
❤️boxing
❤️the picture
❤️fighting over the baby
❤️absolute acceptance
❤️dual POV narration was a fantastic audiobook

The Rhyme: Just when Evie thinks all hope is lost she catches a ray of light. Can Mav convince her to picture a future that involves more than she thought it might?

The end of a series. Sad day, but a great overall epilogue!

Thank you soo much Netgalley for this amazing audiobook!
Evie and Mav have my heart!!! I love their dynamics and their chemistry was deep on emotional as well as physical levels. I admire Evie's character being so independent, courageous and confident. I loved mav's character as well as he was the perfect dynamic partner for Evie and respected her as an equal!
I adored the carter family and Drew is the perfect annoying sibling!!!!

It's a perfect small town romance, single parent and friends to lovers book!
Definitely recommending it ☺️

I listened to the audiobook of this story and I enjoyed the dual narration for this dual POV romance. I've liked this series and was looking forward to Maverick's romance. His character hit the notes I expected with his good guy vibes and protective personality. It didn't surprise me the way he fell for Evie and wanted to take care of her and her son. As much as I liked his character, the growth and character development in this story felt all one sided to me with only Evie seeming to really have a character arc. She was a little too stubborn for me at the start which I think had to do with the pacing not being quite on at the beginning. It was a cute read and I’ll continue to pick to up more books by this author.
I received an advance listening copy of the audiobook from Netgalley and Dreamscape Media. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a reread via audio for me. Loved the dual narration! It is such a sweet and swoony single mom, brother’s best friend story—it tugs on the heart strings, makes you laugh, and basically melt into a puddle. I mean, who doesn’t love a knight in shining armor MC who helps takes care of a newborn?! I just love the Carter family to pieces and this was such a great end to the series!

Even though it's the 4th book in the series I really enjoyed the characters and the real life bits in the book. I have only read the first book and now this one. I really need to go back and read the other two. In this rom-com story a woman's life falls apart, she moves home and into her brother's best friend's house. He has always cared for her and now is turning his life upside down for her.

Thank you to NetGallery and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big fan of Annah Conwell and I was so excited to finally see Maverick’s story. Though I’ve read the ebook already I LOVED hearing it in their voices. The audio was done so well, I went and listened to all the previous audio books.

Listening to this book’s audiobook is making me want to read the entire series again!

The portrayal of the emotions were so well done and just added depth to the story. The voices really brought the story more to life and was way better than what I imagined
