3.75 stars, rounded up. Cute holiday read that had me giggling right from the start. I didn’t particularly care for the spicy scenes, they felt out of place. While this was a fun, holiday type quick easy read, I wish there would have been some clarity in a few places. For example the ending, is Nolan alive now, or does he just get to be a permanent ghost for the rest of Harriet’s life? The compass situation, how did Harriet find it? Was the significance merely just to unite Harriet and Nolan together? Felt like there were just several holes in the plot. I did find Harriet very relatable. As a recovering people pleaser myself I was so proud of her for finally taking a stand against her family and living life for herself. Overall this was a good fun holiday read.

This book was pure joy. Everything about this was perfect, from the characters to the setting, to the magic within. B.K. Borison is amazing at writing romance, and this book really shone for me in that aspect. Nolan and Harriet were such lovely characters, I was really happy to get both perspectives in this because they were stunning. The romance within was spicy and sweet, and I loved how they were so soft with each other. I cannot wait for more in this world because this was everything!!

This book was adorable from start to finish. I will devour anything B.K. writes, as she has completely mastered the concept of cozy romance. I can’t wait for her other books! I really enjoyed the characters of Harriett and Nolan. Perfect holiday read!

Thank you so much for the ARC!

Sometimes you feel like the world is crashing down around you and all you can think of to help it is a holiday book in the middle of summer. And it may not make the world better. But it'll give you a little happiness. And that was Good Spirits for me.

It says a lot about B.K. Borison that this book is probably my least favorite book of hers but I still absolutely loved it. It did not have the same charm that B.K's books normally do (I think maybe because it didn't have the community aspect of her last books) but it still had two absolutely delightful characters on a lovely journey. I loved Nolan and Harriet so much and was SO invested in how they were going to work it all out and stay together.

I cannot wait for the holidays to come around so more people will start reading this. It was great and I look forward to the rest of the series. (Sounds like maybe a Halloween book next? we'll see...)

it was never a concept that intrigued me but I liked the way bk borison grabbed me with her writing! the characters couldn't hold that interest long enough but still decent and i think many will love this!

I'm a huge BK Borison fan and could not wait to dive in to this new series! I absolutely loved this book. Harriet is so fun and loveable in her fun-patterened pajamas and candy cane addiction. Nolan is more reserved, but he loves with his entire being.
Harriet is our main character and a lover of all things Christmas. However, on the first day of December, nothing goes her way, including meeting Nolan, a Ghost of Christmas Past. Harriet is unsure why she's being haunted but they have until Christmas Eve to figure it out, or risk negative consequences for both her and Nolan. As she and Harriet begin to examine her past, they learn there is more that connect the two of them than they think. Something weird is going on, including Nolan's magic becoming more difficult to control. With a deadline of Christmas Eve looming, Harriet and Nolan must figure out what binds them together, and what that means for their futures.

Wow y’all. This one? Loved it! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for my #gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I loved Harriet and Nolan. I think Harriet is such a relatable character as a chronic people pleaser. I loved to see her character growth and for her to see her worth. Nolan..what a fun idea that he’s a ghost of Christmas past. I really loved to see them figure everything out!

This was such a fun take on ghosts of Christmas past! I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes! This one is out October 21 and it is the perfect holiday read!

She’s done it again, folks! How do I get on this ghost yearn/haunt list? I was expecting something a bit campier but was pleasantly surprised with the heart of this novel. Swoon-worthy and hard to put down. Harriet & Nolan are to die for (pun intended).

I really love Borison's contemporary romances, which are like perfect, steamy little snow globes. She literally creates a snow globe in one scene of this book, but ultimately, I didn't quite buy into the conceit here. Her contemporary romances are charming little fantasies that look and operate like reality, just smoothed out and dialed up. They are delightful. This book feels just like that -- and that's my problem: this doesn't work as a fantasy. The rules of the magic don't make sense, ie Borison doesn't create (or explain well enough) the rules, and none of the magic is really necessary to the plot. The magic doesn't make much sense, and the stakes of the magic are almost nil.

To be fair, Lovelight Farms was just OK for me; I appreciated it more as the series continue and the world grew. Maybe that will happen here.

If you approach this as a BK Borison book -- this is solid. Really great. You're going to get all the warm fuzzies you're expecting.

But if you want a ghost story romance, this isn't it.

The way I’m sobbing right now.

I love this book with every cell in my body. Heartbreaking & sweet & endearing & perfect.

This story is so WARM. Both of the characters yearn for love and are exactly what the other needs. *cries again*

Good Spirits is going to be an instant holiday classic. One that I reread every holiday season. Hell, I could reread it right now in the middle of summer.

This gave me the same warm & fuzzy feeling that I get from the movie Leopold with Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman. The man plucked out of time!!!!!!!

UGH this was so good I’m not even able to process my thoughts. I finished this 70 seconds ago and could restart it right now.

♾️⭐️

This book will be in my top favorites of the year, easily. Incredible.

3.5 🌟

This was a cute read that transported me right to all things cozy & Christmas ❄️🤍

This had dual pov, magical realism, the ghost of Christmas past! It was such a warm and magical story and I had a fun time reading it. Nolan and Harriet were both adorable and I enjoyed their connection (I just wish it was a little less physical). Harriet reminded me of myself at times (hello fellow people pleaser) & I loved seeing her stand up for herself 🫂 Definitely recommend reading during the holidays for all the Christmas feels!

Thank you so much Avon for the arc!

Umm, WOW 😭 Here I thought I was going to read a silly little Christmas book but no, no. This was just magically brilliant 🥹🫶🏼

The premises of this was so unique with the ghost of Christmas past as a main character and therefore I was hesitant and a little skeptical. Well that was a waste of a feeling on my part 🙈 because B.K. wrote it so well! I could picture Harriet and her cutesy home so clearly and let me tell you, she deserves the world!!

Enter Nolan, a little bit of a grump and so full of love, and he’s there for Harriet’s reckoning. Does it go according to plan?? Ehm, not at all.

All I can say is that you need to read this when it comes out Oct 21st. I cannot recommend this enough 🥰

Thank you so much Avon and NetGalley for the ARC! I remember receiving the approval email on my wedding anniversary and it felt like the perfect gift 🤗

Good Spirits is a delightful return to the cozy charm of Lovelight Farms. B.K. Borison delivers a heartwarming, funny, and emotionally rich story that feels like a warm hug. The characters are lovable, the dialogue sparkles, and the small-town setting is as enchanting as ever. This installment perfectly balances romance and personal growth, with moments that made me laugh, tear up, and swoon. Fans of the series will adore it, and newcomers will quickly fall in love. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy—it was an absolute joy to read from start to finish!

Good Spirits is pure cozy charm with just the right mix of heart, humor, and small-town vibes. B.K. Borison delivers another feel-good romance that’s easy to sink into—perfect for when you want something sweet but still full of real emotion. It’s got that comforting, everything’s-gonna-be-okay energy while still giving you moments that tug at your heart. Good Spirits is destined to become a top holiday read of 2025! This book wraps you up in all the best festive feels—cozy vibes, witty banter, laugh-out-loud humor, and just the right amount of steam, all with a supernatural twist that adds the perfect sparkle.

As someone who doesn’t usually gravitate toward the “Hallmark-style” lovey-dovey romance, I was hooked from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. And thanks to this author, I’ll be reaching for more books like this—especially anything else they write! The cover art is adorable and matches the story I envisioned perfectly.

Told in a dual POV, the story follows Harriet, a small-town girl with a big heart, and Nolan, a hot Irish ghost (yes, you read that right). Harriet quickly became one of my favorite characters. She’s incredibly relatable, and her real-life challenges feel authentic and heartfelt. Watching her and Nolan grow together—learning from each other and building something real—was beautiful to witness.

If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday romance with supernatural charm, emotional depth, and all the swoons, Good Spirits is the one to add to your TBR.

Thank you to @bkborison and @netgalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Now first and foremost, let me say this was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, so when I got the approval I literally screamed. And now that I've read it, I want to continue to scream to the heavens because this was a masterpiece. There was such a detailed story and the romance felt like it added to what was already going on. I think that Nolan and Harriet couldn't be more perfect for each other. There was so much more in this than a romance. I felt like every people pleaser, myself included, should sit down and read this on pub day because it might just connect with you in the same way it did me. Absolute perfection.

My favorite B.K. Borison to date--she outdid herself with this one. I saw so much of myself in Harriet that at times it was painful to keep reading, but I'm so glad I did. Nolan's loneliness, too, at times, was a reflection of my life in certain seasons. The love Harriet and Nolan found and fought for was so compelling, and warmer than any holiday season love I've ever read.

B.K Borison has done it again. She truly is a master of romance novels. This is different than anything I've read, but still has that B.K magic she sprinkles into every page she writes. I absolutely loved the paranormal aspect, it was so interesting to read and adding something different in. Nolan was an absolute dream, and I adored Harriett and loved her character growth. You could really see how much these people love each other and the connection they share. I'm now obsessed with an Irish ghost with a mustache.

This book was not what I was expecting. I was expecting to love it but instead just liked it. I felt like the magical realism didn't do what I wanted it to. But I love B.K Borison and will always read what she writes.
