This was pretty interesting. I quite enjoyed the podcasters the best.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for this good listen.

When a bizarre incident shakes a community, they shake back! 🔍
Things I loved:
🫎 Minnesota quirks
🧶 badass elders
☕️ small town vibes
This felt a little bit like a Nancy Drew x The Thursday Muder Club crossover. I did not guess the ending, and that always makes me like a mystery more! 🏆

This was a good mystery. The ending was not what I was expecting. Thanks for allowing me to read early!

*****EDITED AFTER LISTENING TO AUDIOBOOK*****
After listening to the audiobook, I now love this book so much more. The narrators gave so much personality and life to the characters. You felt the emotions. The loss, fear, anger, suspicion, and love between the found family. Even though I had already read the book, if felt brand new. So So Good!!!
In a quaint Northern Minnesota town, a series of unsettling events unfold. An attack on Shelby in Mackenzie’s coffee shop and then the mysterious disappearance of Mackenzie’s husband Leo. To unravel these mysteries, a group of concerned senior citizens begin a podcast (that goes viral). This book is told by multiple POVs that I actually enjoyed. The story was filled with all of the twists and turns I enjoy in thrillers, there was also warmth in the senior’s perspectives. The storyline was well constructed and addictive. I was entertained from beginning to end.
Thank you to NetGalley and Seraphina Nova Glass for sending me the ARC of this amazing book.

Thank you to Harlequin Audio for the alc, all opinions are my own.
This has a great hook at the beginning of the story, Sydney getting locked in the freezer at her friend’s restaurant. She catches some man rifling through paperwork and he tries to get rid of her. We’re dealing with the fallout of the cafe owner’s missing husband, injuries and trauma from the frostbite, and the group at the senior home trying to solve the mystery. The stalker’s motive was just so ridiculous, but I guess men.

I really enjoyed the characters and plot in this thriller. I loved how the residents at The Oleander were set in helping their friends.

NOTHING EVER HAPPENS HERE is a multi-perspective domestic thriller with a unique cast of characters, heightened tension, and fabulous twists. The author expertly weaves together the fear of the aftermath of a traumatic event and the emotions of dealing with a missing spouse, all while dealing with a group of elderly residents and their well-meaning antics.
What made this book so good was the way all three women’s stories were presented. Shelby, Mackenzie, and Florence each contributed something unique, facing their own challenges. However, when they overlapped in the timeline, this was where I was pulled in further. It is always more intriguing to me when one event is told from multiple perspectives, as it creates a richer, more complete picture.
I will tell you this. I have read a few books by the author, and none grabbed me as much as this one did. It had engaging characters that I instantly invested in, a compelling story, and a well-crafted build-up of suspense. NOTHING EVER HAPPENS HERE delivered for this reader.
Audiobook Note: Having this book narrated by three women—Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski, and Petrea Burchard—allowed the listener to have a voice for the three points of view of this novel. The transition from character to character is seamless and pushes forward at a decent pace. If you are an audiobook listener and enjoy domestic thrillers, this is one to add to your to-read list.

This story started out good. The mystery thriller started with Mac whose husband disappeared on the same night as Shelby being held hostage at Mac's cafe. She was left in the restaurant's freezer for dead but luckily was rescued in time. A year later, the bad guy resurfaced again with a threatening note on Shelby's car windshield. Her husband prepared her with a gun in the house for self defense. Mac, on the other hand deals with her husband's disappearance and possibilities of her being the killer who killed off her husband.
Then there's Florence who wants to do podcast to solve the crime as a way to reduce her chances from having dementia.
I lose interest with Florence and the lack of police searching for the killer especially when Shelby got attacked again and again with no official protection.
Thank you HTPHive for the opportunity to listen and review.

⟢Thank you @htp_hive, @harlequin_audio, @graydonhousebooks & @netgalley for the ARC and ALC!
This book was a page turner! I had a great time with this one. It was fast paced with a plot that was neatly woven together, and I didn’t see the plot twist or that ending coming! And it was definitely a great ending!
The amateur sleuth senior citizens gave it a bit of a cozy feeling towards the middle of the book, which I wasn’t expecting. While it made me laugh at times, it also confused the mood for me a little bit. Overall this was a solid and quick whodunit mystery, great for the winter season!
🎧I did end up listening to some of this one, since I was having a hard time finding time to actually sit down and read (ugh, housework and jobs!😂), and the audio was great! Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski and Petrea Burchard did a great job portraying each of the characters and bringing out each of their personalities!

If the original Scooby gang lived in a retirement home and started a podcast together to solve a small town murder mystery. Outstanding. One of my top surprise books of the year. I loved every minute.

Another thriller I finished in one sitting! It was pretty good! It had me on the edge of my seat at times and sometimes it was a little creepy. It’s definitely a popcorn thriller. I had a lot of fun listening to it. It had me hooked from the beginning. It’s a thriller that’s hard to put down, that’s for sure!

Seraphine Nova Glass never disappoints and always delivers! Her new novel, "Nothing Ever Happens Here" was a thrilling ride of a book. Loved it!

Seraphina Nova Glass is an author that I know always delivers. This book is no exception. So many individual threads to pull that you just know connect, but you can't see the how yet. I loved the setting, the story, the characters. Another win for Nova Glass.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Harlequin Audio for my advance copy of this audiobook

I really loved the beginning of this book. I was immediately hooked. I loved how we were kept guessing for the entire story. It did get a little confusing for me toward the end. I kept forgetting who some of the characters were. However, overall I would recommend this book to my friends and I already have to my book club. The opening with the freezer had me shook for days!!

The book is titled Nothing Ever Happens Here, but that’s pretty much the opposite of what unfolds right from the start.
Told from multiple points of view, it begins with Shelby, who encounters an intruder that nearly kills her. This person continues to threaten and terrorize her.
Then there’s Mac, whose husband, Leo, is missing. He’s been lying to her and has squandered all their money. Mac is desperately searching for where he might have run off to.
Another perspective is that of Flo, a senior living in a retirement home (not a nursing home). Shelby works at this facility. The group of seniors decides to start a podcast about the masked man who tried to kill Shelby, as well as other strange and terrifying events that have occurred in town. On a side note, they mention the Doctor Death podcast, which I listened to a while back it’s crazy.
This book literally kept me on the edge of my seat, just like any great thriller should. I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed one this much.
I absolutely loved Nothing Ever Happens Here and highly recommend it. Seraphina Nova Glass is a fantastic writer, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all her books.
Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin audio for an ARC audio version of this book, in return for my honest review.

It has a lot of characters and plot happening, which can be confusing, but if you can keep it sorted in your head, it's a great read. The cover gives me thriller/suspense vibes, but the book feels more like a cozy mystery, so it's great for anyone who may scare easily as it's not scary or suspenseful. I was surprised by who the person was, as I kept trying to guess up til the reveal. Overall, it's a decent read. I enjoyed the narrator's different portrayal of each character.
I received this Audiobook to listen and review from NetGalley and Harlequin Audio. All of the statements above are my true opinions after fully listening to this Audiobook.

I binged this one in a day. I thought once again that I had the killer figured out but I was so wrong ! The multiple points of view, the tension and the dynamics made this one bingable!
The narrators did an amazing job and the twists were so dang good!!!
Highly recommend!

“Nothing Ever Happens Here” by Seraphina Nova Glass is an great audiobook with multiple narrators. I love books with sassy older characters. The setting was creepy, and the twists were totally unexpected. The narrators, Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski, and Petrea Burchard, brought the characters to life perfectly.

I loved every word of this title. Seeing a multi-generational cast was the best. I love cranky old people (I'm becoming one) and watching them refuse to sit and knit was hilarious. The story was serious and multi-layered and it was a beautiful blend that I could not put down. I listened to it in a day and can't wait to recommend it and purchase it for my library!

Unfortunately, this wasn't anything special in my opinion. The pacing was a little slow for me, and the b-plot about the old folks home just didn't hit for me. I also hate when authors have POV characters who know the answer, but they talk around it in the most unnatural way to keep the audience in suspense. This book did that for several chapters and multiple POVs, which took it down from three to two stars for me, especially considering that the solution wasn't really worth it.
