Christmas at Carriage Hill (Swift River Valley #3.5) by Carla Neggers

Honestly, I felt like I was missing a lot of information that I needed from previous books in the series in order to really appreciate this one. Maybe this is my mistake, but I usually find that Christmas novellas in a series stand ok on their own (I'm thinking of Jill Shalvis's Lucky Harbor series). I don't feel like that's the case with this one. Perhaps if I had read the first three full-length novels in this series I would have known who the other characters were and been familiar with their stories. Oh well! The writing was nice, and I enjoyed the festive atmosphere so maybe I'll go back and read those other books someday.

This short novella about Alexandra and Ian wasn't quite as good as the previous books, probably due to the constrictions place on it by length. I liked the characters, and loved being back in the Swift River Valley setting.
