Kathyrn Croft is fast becoming the queen of psychological thrillers. I have read every book she has written and each time she presents us with a new book you know you are in for another wild ride. Soon events will happen that will change Kate’s life immensely. A fabulous plot and characters that had me turning the pages and losing sleep seeing I am up so early for work.
On a night out Kate meets Jamie in a bar. Kate is usually not the type to hook up with one-night stands, but she has separated from her husband Ellis and after a few drinks goes home with Jamie. This sets up the beginning of a very entertaining and exciting read that will have you guessing all the way though. Each time you think you know what is going to happen, you are then thrown another curve ball, absolutely loved it.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.

When I first started thus book I stopped a couple times with a "ugh just another book" well I finally picked it back up and once I got into it?! I loved this book! What an enjoyable read! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, and so many crazy twists! And a bit of a who done it! I highly recommend reading this book!

Kate , divorced, meets a stranger in a bar and one thing leads to another and she ends up
spending the night with him. When he winds up dead and she finds him, she hurries from the scene
to avoid being discovered there.
And then the story begins.
Suspenseful and definitely full of twists and turns that you will not see coming.
No one seems to be exactly whom they appear to be, with secrets in every cornor.
Even Kate has a secret inner past.
Good read but not great for me.
Too predictable at times with too much over the top.

Once again Kathryn Croft has crafted a masterful, dark and twisty thriller with The Last One To See Him. As a longtime reader of Kathryn, I can truly appreciate that this is her best book to date. Grabbed from the start, this story kept me reading long into the night.
The story follows Kate and her family, and Harper and her family. Both women have deep scars from traumatic events from their past so it's no surprise they form a deep hate and mistrust of each other. A current tragedy has both pointing fingers at the other. As they try to out manipulate each other, the danger level escalates putting more than just themselves at risk. Can this mystery be solved before any more carnage occurs, and can they put aside their differences to protect their families?
This intense drama was brilliantly written with characters so well depicted it was hard to know who was telling the truth and who was lying. The ups and downs, twists and turns will leave you gasping at the end of the ride. Grab yourself a coffee and a cozy blanket. It's going to take a while to dig through all the layers of lies and deception in this one. I highly recommend it!
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy

Kathryn Croft is my all time favorite authors. Her stories grip you from page one and this story was truly captivating.
Kate is going through a divorce. One night her and a friend head out to a bar where Kate meets Jamie. He's going through a divorce as well and they really hit it off and head back to his flat. Kate leaves and Jamie invites her back later that day. When she returns she finds his door open and Jamie is dead.
Kate panics and leaves. Jamie's death is dragging up stuff from her past (like being accused of murder when she was 15) so she runs. Things start to take a turn as she gets a flower delivery of dead flowers and someone following her.
The twists in this book were more than I could count!! I thought I had solved the book but nope!
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC!!

4.5⭐️. I really enjoyed this book. More twists than a corkscrew. It kept me guessing right to the end and I find there are not many book that can do that. This is my first Kathryn Croft book and will not be my last. Highly recommend.

My Rating:- 5/5

Overall I thought the book was great! The tension building with each chapter really drew me in and kept me not wanting to put it down. Learning more of Kate’s story through flashback scenes was great as it kept me wondering whether we were dealing with an unreliable narrator and constantly guessing who was actually telling the truth. Sometimes the back and forth did get a little confusing but I think that’s just because I’m not used to this style. Very interested to read more from this author!

Wow! Another fantastic thriller from Kathryn Croft. This one had me absolutely hooked and I couldn't put it down. Full of tension, suspects, twists and turns, and huge shocks, it was brilliant! Great ending too, really recommend this book!

My head is spinning from all the twists and turns! I didn’t know who to trust, what to trust, or what was going to happen next. I stopped trying to predict the twists and just enjoyed the ride.😎 It 100% captured my attention from start to finish and NEVER got boring, which was my favourite thing about this book!

An intense read looking forward to reading more of her books.

Wow wow could not put this book down! Has several twist and will keep you on your toes! Everything is not as it seems between these two mothers Harper and Kate! You must read to find out more!

This was a gripping thriller from beginning to end when Kate goes out with her friends she bumps into Jamie who she is drawn to having recently separated from her husband and spends the night with him with dire consequences as the next day when she visits him he is found dead she is too scared to go to the police as she does have a shady past.
This kept me reading until the early hours didn’t want to put it down can’t wait for her next one.

Kate is getting divorced from her cheating husband and has a one night stand with an attractive stranger. They agree to meet back at his place the next day but when she enters, he is dead. And then his wife Harper turns up acting like she doesn't know that Kate just slept with her husband but Kate knows she doesn't have good intentions.
This was a pretty good read overall. I felt like new info kept turning up and I didn't ever get bored. There were a few reveals that came out of left field, but that kept it interesting. There was also the issue of which character you could trust. Overall, it was a good read.

Writers can truly shape the story in a way that forces a reader to believe something that isn't true. Kathryn Croft often does this, and it's the primary driving factor in her latest book, The Last One to See Him. Some readers immerse themselves in a book and don't try to solve the mystery or get ahead of the author's game. Other readers just make guesses and claim they knew the plot before it happened. I usually try to avoid guessing it so I can enjoy the writing, the story, and the suspense. That was the case here. I fell for it. I disliked the characters I was supposed to dislike. I liked the ones I was suppose to like. But the shades of gray are powerful here. Tho we're clear in the ending, I still found myself a bit ticked at one of the two women leading this story - the wife of the victim. I think she overplayed her hand and reacted too strongly, and as the truth comes to light, did she suffer appropriately or was she given a pass after all that happened in the background? A good book makes you think about the balance of equality when it comes to an eye for an eye. Nice job!

Thank you Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I loved the premise of this book. It started off really strong, but then it just kind of went off the rails. There was way too much going on, and at points, I was completely lost with who was who and what was going on. I am all for a shocking twist, but when it is too convoluted, it doesn't work.
It wasn't the worst book I have ever read, but it did not live up to my expectations.

Loved this book!! Original, twisty and gripping - psychological fiction at its finest!
Kate is a vet, recently separated from her husband, and bringing up her 10 year old son. One night she spends the night with Jamie, a man she meets in the bar. They arrange to meet at his apartment the next day, only when Kate turns up...she finds Jamie has been brutally murdered. Having killed an attacker as a teenager, Kate is loathe to notify the police and instead flees the crime scene. Kate later confides to her therapist that she believes Jamie actually has a widow...who is out to kill her! So much happens in this novel that I haven't even touched on for fear of providing spoilers - this is such a great read that I really wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone. I would 110% recommend it to all readers of this genre.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
