A quick fun read! Definitely felt similar to Grey’s Anatomy but with less drama. All the main characters were very likable and the slow burn between the main characters was magnificent!

This was such a fun rom-com with some serious themes woven in the storyline. Both Grace and Julian were well-developed characters. The setting of hospital residency was realistic and I was rooting for the resident cohort the whole time.
Two critiques: I did not love the very end… like the last conversation between Grace and Julian. I felt like she was mirroring some of the very things that were horrible with her previous toxic relationship.
Also, I would have liked symbolism (*****) when the time or scene changed within a chapter just to make it flow better.
Other than that, the enemies-lovers was well-done with just enough steam. It was fun having the guy be so lovesick for the girl!

4.25⭐️
Love sick was a really cute enemies to lovers doctor romance read. Even when the main characters “hated” each other, they had great chemistry and their relationship was really cute and swoony. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded and having dual POVs allows you
to get to know the characters and watch them grow in an engaging, natural way that made them feel more authentic. This book also brought to light the more serious topics of workplace sexual harassment, how harmful rumors can be, and abusive relationships. I think it was a great debut novel and I will definitely check out future books by this author. Thank you Deidre Duncan, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.

If you like medical tv shows such as Greys Anatomy and ER, this book is just for you! Reading the summary of this book, I knew I would enjoy this book! The story is about two OBGYN interns who at first hate each other, but then learn to rely on one another and be there for each other. It follows Grace an intern who has gone through an abusive relationship and unfortunately starts her residency off with rumors about her - which in turn doesn't help her self confidence. Then there is Julian who initially misjudged Grace and soon develops a friendship with her. Throughout their time through residency, Julian is there to help protects her and be that shoulder to lean on for Grace.

I absolutely loved the character dynamic between the two and the witty banter between each other! This book is definitely a slow burn with amazing chemistry between the two characters. I really felt like I was watching an episode of Greys Anatomy as I was reading the book. I felt like the way the author portrays Grace and the struggles she had to endure, all of us can relate to it.

I don't know how many times I giggled while reading this book. I even laughed out loud so many times that people turned their heads at me. If you get the chance to read this book, you won't be sorry!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Deidra Duncan for the eARC. This is an honest review

This book follows Grace and Julian as they go through their residency at a hospital running rampant with drama and rumors. When a particular rumor proceeds Grace's start as a first year, we watch some Grey's Anatomy-level drama unfold and a hate-to-love romance kick off between Julian and Grace.

While this book was fun, the way the rumor flew around the hospital and impacted Grace's experience there as a resident (and the rumor itself) came off incredibly immature and out of place for a workplace full of highly educated adults. This took me out of the story and kept me from enjoying it most of the time.

I could not put this book down! The banter between Grace and Julian was sooo good, and the slow burn between them was maddening as it built up. I loved the large cast and particularly loved the sense of realism that came from the setting. It was so clear to me that the author knew what she was talking about when it came to residency and working in a hospital. There was a level of detail that you don't really see in doctor-y romcoms that made the story feel that much more real and grounded.

Grace's first year of her residency is anything but easy. On top of the challenging and demanding position, she is also battling rumors that have major impacts on her reputation. Julian is also hanging on by a thread as he manages the difficult program that he barely made it into. The two are off to a rough start and despise each other before learning that they're more similar than they originally thought.

I absolutely loved the banter between Grace and Julian. Even when they "hated" each other, you could see all the chemistry. I loved the dual POVs and being able to see what was going on on Julian's side and understanding his own insecurities. There was the perfect amount of tension throughout the story, and I loved the slow burn. I'm always a fan of a good doctor romance and this book is perfect for Grey's Anatomy fans!

As much as I love reading silly little romances with no plot that you can devour in a day, I REALLY appreciate a book that I can learn something from. I was immediately excited when there was a bit of a dictionary at the beginning of the book. I enjoyed learning so much about training to be a medical professional, even if it isn't all rainbows. The juxtaposition of the tough medical experiences to the supportive love made the chemistry even better. This was a well balanced, engaging book that makes me feel better for reading it.

Love Sick is enemies-to-lovers-cutting-the-sexual-tension-with-a-scalpel. Two OBGYN residents start their first year immediately on the wrong foot due to salacious rumors about one of them. They are begrudgingly a part of the same friend group because the first-years band together to survive residency. Residency is hard. The rumors persist. Yet, Julian and Grace find themselves falling in love. Julian’s internal monologue as this happens is beautiful.

I couldn’t look away from the near constant reminder that even if a female dominated specialty, medicine (and many things) is unfair and highly sucky for women.

3.5 stars rounded up. Thank you, NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, for providing this ARC. I really enjoyed the way this story was told through dual POV and unfolded over the course of a few years, allowing the characters to grow in a natural and engaging way. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was executed perfectly, with great banter that kept me hooked and a good cast of characters that added depth to the story. Their romance felt authentic and real, making it easy to root for them. Recommend if you’re looking for a cute and quick read.

Love Sick was one of those rare books that hooked me immediately - from the jump, I was in. I didn't expect to be wooed by OB-GYN residents, but I loved the STEM-focused medical environment, the characters of Julian and Grace, and their enemies-to-lovers relationship. Grace's anxiety was dealt with in a way that felt extremely relatable to me (someone with anxiety) and the difficulties she faced as a woman in the industry felt so real.

The lengthy timeline was surprising to me but added to the authenticity of the story, and the slow burn aspect was really fun. With that being said, I was disappointed with the spice - it felt as though the author wasn't comfortable writing it. I totally get it, but after this very lengthy slow burn, I was really looking forward to the culmination of all the tension, and I was a bit let down by it. In addition, I didn't love the third act, and I didn't love the way the conflict played out and was ultimately resolved.

All in all, I found this book to be well written, relatable, enjoyable, and authentic but the spice was a bit lackluster and the book dragged in the third half. I was not surprised in the slightest to discover the the author is an actual OB-GYN and as far as a debut novel goes, I think she did excellent work.

“Love Sick” is by Deidra Duncan. I’m a sucker for doctor romance books - the medical field is hectic, fast, and crazy - especially during that residency part of training. I found the sections about residency enlightening - I knew from other books that it’s a difficult time, but this book really emphasized the craziness (and tension) one goes through. However, I found this book not very enjoyable. Julian, the main male character, hears a rumor and it’s believed that it’s about Grace, the main female character. Is that enough for them to dislike each other? Maybe - but it seemed really weak given the fact that they’re in the same group and need to work with each other. Julian did redeem himself through the book (the story takes place during a year) but I never warmed up to him as much as I hoped to. This book felt juvenile to me with the banter and some of the character’s reactions to things, so this wasn’t an easy book for me to get through. Also, the third act event - why was that necessary? I would give this author another try, as this her debut novel.

I love taking a chance on new-to-me authors. I read the blurb and knew this one would grab my attention. It reminded me a lot of season one of Grey’s Anatomy. There was a LOT of medical jargon, but that only made it feel more real. It’s clear that a lot of time was spent making the information accurate which was super cool.

Much like Grey’s there are a bunch of lowly employees trying to make it in the cutthroat medical world. Although medical school is over, they’re still fighting for opportunities to learn. Right away, I was sucked into the drama. From the minute Grace gets to the hospital, there are rumors swirling about how she got her spot in the program. People are saying she slept her way to the top, and with a given name like Sapphire Rose it’s hard to shut down the rumor mill. She’s earned her spot fair and square, but that doesn’t stop her peers from making her feel like crap. I loved the way this rumor starts our main characters off on the wrong foot.

Julian might not have been the one who started the rumor, but he’s definitely the one that gets the brunt of Grace’s anger. Immediately sparks fly. They’re not quite enemies because their competitive spirit only makes them better doctors, but there’s still plenty of animosity between these rivals. Julian loves to mess with “Sapphire”, and she hates the way he makes her blood boil. I loved their dynamic and found myself laughing out loud at their antics. Especially when their “hate” morphed into something more.

I really enjoyed the way this story was told in dual POV and over the course of a few years. I felt the time jumps had such a good flow to them. This book was filled with lots of tension, some spice, a slow burn, and an ending that made my tummy hurt I was so invested. There’s lots of drama that I personally wouldn’t have been able to forgive lmao. Buuuut… that’s what makes it so fun! I couldn’t put it down!

Love sick is why I love romance books. This was a perfect read for this week prior to Valentine's Day. I was immediately drawn to the characters. Grace and Julian are the perfect ones to play out the doctor romance. When I tell you I devoured their story like I was watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy. It's one of those rare books that I cannot wait to reread! As residents in a local hospital, Grace and Julian banter back and forth like nobody's business. Grace's struggles at work and Julian believing unfounded rumors about Grace lead to them having that perfect slow burn "enemies to lovers" situations. I found myself smiling through several spots in the story.

Enemies to lovers with great banter and fantastic cast of characters. Julian and Grace going toe to toe was wonderful to read.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the realistic hospital politics and how detrimental stupid rumors can go in a professional career.

Nice writing style, couldn't put it down.

Love Sick by Deidra Duncan was really fun. I really enjoyed reading it because it felt different somehow. The story was set in a hospital, and it covered multiple years with the characters. It was really eye opening to see what goes on in a hospital, as someone who's trying to practice medicine. The two main characters: Grace and Julian were so adorable together. They had amazing banter and I loved seeing their relationship progress as time went on. Something that was also interesting to read about was how Grace dealt with the problems that kept plaguing her throughout the book. As well as her relationship with the other characters and seeing how that affected her. Overall Love Sick by Deidra Duncan was a cute and interesting book that I recommend that you read.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a cute book to read! In a lot of romance books, the pacing can be quick however, in this book I felt like the packing was on track. I loved the chemistry between Grace and Julian. As Goodreads describes it, it truly is like if Grey's Anatomy and The Hating Game had a baby. I'm a sucker for a good medical drama and this hits it out of the park with two OBGYN interns. This book had me laughing hysterically while also squealing with delight. The banter and wit in this book is truly one of a kind and if you're not a fan of romance books, you should at least read it for its humor. I truly feel like this book was booking.

Read if you like:
- Enemies to lovers
- 3rd act breakup (but you know it'll be okay)
- Slow burn
- Women in STEM
- Dual POV

I really enjoyed this! It was a sort of enemies to lovers romance between two doctors going through residency. The banter was everything. I just loved it! I really felt for Grace and everything she was feeling and going through because of the rumors. Julian was just a sweetheart and so patient, loving, and supportive. It was such a great romance that blossomed and I really enjoyed watching it grow over the course of their residency program. I also enjoyed the medical aspect of the book. I definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing read. Grace and Julian are both complex characters and share sizzling chemistry. The backdrop of residency is incredibly realistic and the supporting cast were nuanced and added depth to the story. I loved the exploration of what it means to be a woman in medicine and how some foundational experiences can shape your entire residency experience. This book is truly Gray’s Anatomy meets your favorite romance! Thank you to the author and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!
