Love sick is why I love romance books. This was a perfect read for this week prior to Valentine's Day. I was immediately drawn to the characters. Grace and Julian are the perfect ones to play out the doctor romance. When I tell you I devoured their story like I was watching an episode of Grey's Anatomy. It's one of those rare books that I cannot wait to reread! As residents in a local hospital, Grace and Julian banter back and forth like nobody's business. Grace's struggles at work and Julian believing unfounded rumors about Grace lead to them having that perfect slow burn "enemies to lovers" situations. I found myself smiling through several spots in the story.

Enemies to lovers with great banter and fantastic cast of characters. Julian and Grace going toe to toe was wonderful to read.

I also thoroughly enjoyed the realistic hospital politics and how detrimental stupid rumors can go in a professional career.

Nice writing style, couldn't put it down.

Love Sick by Deidra Duncan was really fun. I really enjoyed reading it because it felt different somehow. The story was set in a hospital, and it covered multiple years with the characters. It was really eye opening to see what goes on in a hospital, as someone who's trying to practice medicine. The two main characters: Grace and Julian were so adorable together. They had amazing banter and I loved seeing their relationship progress as time went on. Something that was also interesting to read about was how Grace dealt with the problems that kept plaguing her throughout the book. As well as her relationship with the other characters and seeing how that affected her. Overall Love Sick by Deidra Duncan was a cute and interesting book that I recommend that you read.

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such a cute book to read! In a lot of romance books, the pacing can be quick however, in this book I felt like the packing was on track. I loved the chemistry between Grace and Julian. As Goodreads describes it, it truly is like if Grey's Anatomy and The Hating Game had a baby. I'm a sucker for a good medical drama and this hits it out of the park with two OBGYN interns. This book had me laughing hysterically while also squealing with delight. The banter and wit in this book is truly one of a kind and if you're not a fan of romance books, you should at least read it for its humor. I truly feel like this book was booking.

Read if you like:
- Enemies to lovers
- 3rd act breakup (but you know it'll be okay)
- Slow burn
- Women in STEM
- Dual POV

I really enjoyed this! It was a sort of enemies to lovers romance between two doctors going through residency. The banter was everything. I just loved it! I really felt for Grace and everything she was feeling and going through because of the rumors. Julian was just a sweetheart and so patient, loving, and supportive. It was such a great romance that blossomed and I really enjoyed watching it grow over the course of their residency program. I also enjoyed the medical aspect of the book. I definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing read. Grace and Julian are both complex characters and share sizzling chemistry. The backdrop of residency is incredibly realistic and the supporting cast were nuanced and added depth to the story. I loved the exploration of what it means to be a woman in medicine and how some foundational experiences can shape your entire residency experience. This book is truly Gray’s Anatomy meets your favorite romance! Thank you to the author and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

This one wasn’t for me, found the writing style to be boring and the characters got on my nerves. DNF at 14%

3.75/5 stars
Who knew that first year residency, aka: interns, was like starting your freshmen year of high school all over again? The stressors are high, the cliques are unavoidable, and your personal reputation is what really matters. Unfortunately for Grace, her first impression with her colleagues is all but ruined before she can even begin - all due to a nasty and false rumor spread across the hospital staff. And let's just say that when fellow interns, Julian and Grace, meet...well...it's not exactly a meet cute.

It was pretty interesting to read a medical themed romcom written by a former OBGYN. For someone whose closest view to actual healthcare realism has been watching episodes of Grey's Anatomy, it was refreshingly real. I will say though that while I absolutely devoured their banter and enemies to friends to lovahhhs quite enthusiastically, the openly expressed, deep romantic feelings for one another were a just a touch too poetically melodramatic for my taste. Maybe Jullian has an undergrade in early 1900's English Lit, so who am I to say! :)

Many thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley, and Deidra Duncan for providing me with a digital review copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This book… it was so good and such a vibe. I’m a sucker for a doctor romance, and this one was amazing.

The banter in this book was top-tier. Even when both characters “hated” each other, I was still cackling, so hard!!

Excellent mental health representation! I will be recommending this to everyone

Thank you so much to Quercus Books and NetGalley for the advance copy!

A slow-burn rivals-to-lovers romance full of witty, laugh-out-loud banter? I’m in! Now throw in some medical workplace drama and the chemistry between characters that made early Grey’s Anatomy so charming? YES PLEASE! Love Sick is easily one of my top romance books of the year.

Grace (Sapphire) is starting her OB-GYN residency and there is a rumor spiraling that got her spot by sleeping her way into the program. At a pre-residency mixer, Grace confronts Julian (a fellow resident and DO vs. MD) for believing these unfounded rumors. To say they get started off on the wrong foot is an understatement and their fiery banter filled rivalry begins. The slow burn between the two of them is well paced and the banter is delightful! I devoured the story and loved the romance between the two of them. The only complaint I have is that I am not a fan of third-act breakups, however I do appreciate how the conflict was resolved. However, the third-act breakup didn’t really deter my enjoyment and this book is still a solid 4.5 stars for me!

I also want to note how much I loved how candidly Deirdra Duncan addresses sexual harassment in the workplace. She was very artful in how she portrayed something that so many women have experienced in silence.

Deirdra Duncan has cemented herself on my list of auto-buy authors. If she comes out with another book, it will be on the top of my TBR list.

Love Sick by Deidra Duncan is a fun, heartfelt rom-com set against the high-stakes world of medical residency. Grace Rose, a first-year OB-GYN resident, is already dealing with the fallout from a devastating breakup and damaging rumors about her reputation. As if navigating the pressure of her job and social anxiety weren’t enough, she’s now stuck working with Julian Santini, a fellow resident whose charming personality and looks seem to get under her skin.

Julian, dealing with his own insecurities and challenges, doesn’t intend to add to Grace’s stress, but the two quickly find themselves in a push-pull dynamic, each trying to prove themselves in a competitive and often toxic environment. What begins as bickering and tension during long shifts slowly transforms into something deeper as they discover that perhaps love really is the best remedy for their emotional wounds.

Duncan expertly blends humor, romance, and the chaos of medical life, creating a story that’s as heartwarming as it is entertaining. Grace and Julian’s slow-burn romance is refreshing, and their journey toward healing, both personally and professionally, is relatable and engaging. Love Sick is perfect for readers who enjoy witty banter, strong character development, and a little medical drama with their romance.

Endorsements from authors in similar genres can be boost for a debut author or one new to the reader.

Despite the one provided in the blurb, this read fell short of my expectations.

Appreciate the author's backstory, her definition of the terms in her industry, the attractive cover but felt the writing was stilted. Add to that a number of characters without any distinct characteristics (beyond a label here and there) made it difficult to invest in the main characters' HEA.

Grey’s Anatomy vibes (the early years) but all my tears are from joy and not all my favorite characters dying?! Yes please! I absolutely adored this book! I can’t wait to have a hard copy on my shelf!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!!!

I simply adored this book! The banter between the main characters was top-tier, and the slowww burn romance was perfectly executed. One standout aspect is that the author is an actual doctor who went through residency, which adds a layer of authenticity and nuance that you don’t often get in medical romances. While I personally wasn’t a fan of how long the rumor storyline dragged out before being resolved, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book overall. The chemistry between the main characters was so cute, and I couldn’t get enough of them!

This book was just so so freaking good!

The characters, the vibe, the hospital gossip, everything was so good, I loved it enough, that im probably gonna re-read it on it's release date!

This is a nemesis to lover, with forced proximity, slow burn and workplace romance and there are so many feisty moments that made me scream and kick my feet. Grace and Julian build such an amazing relationship and their characters are complex and grow so well in time. My heart aches for Grace and all that she went through. Julian's sweetness and how attentive he was patch my heart (and Grace's) right back up.

I felt so many emotions and literally couldn't put the book down! The representation of women in STEM was good and realistic! It was so accurate, all the detail made me addicted to the universe and lowky made me want to become a resident, even though I wouldn't be able to handle the ASCOM ringing all the time. Another big point is the fact that there is an ACCURATE and AMAZING representation of mental health, which is very important to me.

You all need to read this as soon as it comes out!

If you are looking for a book after a Grey's anatomy hangover, with the perfect enemy to lovers and best characters, this is for you !

I loved the medical setting and once I started I was hooked. Greys anatomy romance vibes? Yes please!

I love romance books and as soon as I saw this based in a medical setting I knew I wanted to read it. It starts off with a rumor and a conflict between the two main characters that sort of misses the mark to me. The rumor around Grace and Julian judging her for it just didn’t seem to be enough to make them enemies in my opinion. Once they both realized they were wrong about the other person you’d think they could put aside their differences and be civil but they continue to have juvenile reactions and I found Julian to be very judgy. I did enjoy the banter and I liked the friend group. I did not like the formatting for this book. The pacing was hard to follow at times without clear chapters. In the kindle version there were often large breaks between sentences and a lot of typos. It was very distracting and made it difficult to read. I hope before publication this is remedied. Overall, I did enjoy the book. I can definitely see the potential and I think for a debut it can only get better from here.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read this one.

I loved this book. I loved Julian, I loved Grace, I loved seeing their journey. This is a romance set during the stressful time of doctor residency for these two OBGYN interns/residents. I loved all the medical talk and hospital lingo even if I didn’t understand it all. I do work in a hospital but I am not a doctor. It helped add to the conflict of the story with the added pressure of working non-stop in a stressful/high-stakes environment. Julian is such a sweetie/cinnamon roll, and Grace is relatable when you have past emotional baggage that just won’t let you be. Their dynamic is so fun to watch, and I speed through this book, not wanting to put it down.

Do yourself a favor and add this book to your TBR. Fun fact: the author is a doctor which gives it added authenticity.

The story was interesting but kind of scattered. I liked the characters a lot but it felt like this book wasn’t sure what it wanted to be. I would love to read thins with more editing and direction.

Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for letting me read a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.

This was very much like an “enemies” to lovers Greys Anatomy. The main character Julian reminds me a little bit of Alex Karev because I didn’t like him in the beginning but in the middle I start to like him and then at the end he drove me absolutely insane. I liked Grace and I understand why she was so hesitant to love him but I could have done without the 3rd act it was kinda out there for me and it made me just speed read until the end. Julian was also kinda whiny during the last like 80 pages and it killed me.
