Thank you to HTP, Canary Street Press, and Deidra Duncan for this ARC.

I’ve watched Grey’s Anatomy for YEARS, so the second I saw Deidra Duncan’s debut was all about OBGYN residents? Immediate yes. 😏 Cue the drama, friendships, heartbreak, and a swoony slow-burn romance I couldn’t get enough of.

🩺 What did you love the most?
The found family vibes here are everything. It reminded me so much of the early Grey’s seasons — all the chaotic energy, late-night support, and ride-or-die friendships you secretly wish you had. 🖤Also, major props for the mental health rep. The way Duncan tackled workplace rumors and the scars left from toxic relationships felt so real and important. It gave the story so much heart without weighing it down. 🥰

🩺 What to expect:
🏥 Medical romance goodness
🧠 Realistic anxiety rep
💕 Enemies ➔ Friends ➔ Lovers
🐌 Slow-burn tension you can FEEL

🔥Steam level: open-door

🩺 How was the romance?
Grace and Julian are pure magic. Their banter gave me The Hating Game flashbacks in the best way: sharp, funny, a little petty 😅, and SO much tension. 🔥Grace calling him names like “death-eater” and “Darth Vader” had me laughing out loud. 😂 If you love witty, spicy romance books with serious chemistry? You’ll eat this one up.

🩺 Do you recommend this book?
I’m usually not a fan of third act breakups, but the resolution felt earned and satisfying. If you’re a sucker for medical dramas, slow-burn love stories, or debut novels that hit you right in the feels, you’re going to want this on your TBR. 🤩

This book was so cute! I really enjoyed this storyline. I thought that Grace and Julian were really good characters. I really connected with Grace and I thought the conflicts in this book were very realistic. The only thing I didn’t love about this book is the lingo used sometimes. There were too many times “bruh” was said and it felt misused. There were sometimes Julian was use a word that no man I have ever met would say. Overall it was a fun read and I finished it in a day!

The author is an OB-GYN and I think it's amazing that this book is based loosely on he own residency experiences.

As someone who used to binge watch Greys Anatomy when I was in University, I can say if you love the show and other medical dramas, then you will definitely love this book. Grace and Julian are so Izzie and Alex coded. I honestly loved both the characters. Their chemistry was undeniable. This was definitely a slow burn but there were plenty of heartfelt moments along with lots of witty banter.

The book also highlights the double standards women face not only in the media field but any work environment.

Thank you Harlequin Books and Canary Press for the ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.

This felt like Grey's Anatomy in book form to me and I am here for it! Grace and Julian are pretty much enemies after he unintentionally offended her on the very first day of their residency. Both of them have something to prove - Grace wants to prove that she is more than just a pretty face, and Julian wants to prove that he deserves his residency spot. When they realize that they can benefit from training and studying together, they end up spending an abundance of time together. The chemistry was crackling from the start and their banter was top tier. I loved that they showed respect for one another in their field despite how they feel personally. I found myself laughing and giggling throughout the book from their antics. I did a combination of audio and digital and loved the narrators. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the gifted eARC and ALC. All opinions are my own.

Instagram post will be live before or on release day.

What a pleasant surprise! I expected to enjoy this book based on the premise, but it completely exceeded my expectations. The banter, the tension, and the strong writing had me hooked from the very beginning. I absolutely loved both Sapphire and Jillian—they felt so real and relatable. Love Sick was a fantastic read, and I'm grateful to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it early!

WOW what a witty, special, sweet, deep, relatable, authentic romance 😭

Sapphire Grace Rose is an OBGYN resident who is trying to manage her anxiety in addition to her actual medical residency. She doesnt have any time for distractions, but even the best laid-plans can get derailed. When a rumor assumed to be about her precedes her, she works to not let anything get in her way. It's hard to do that when Julian Santini seems hellbent on getting under her skin.

Julian Santini is also an OBGYN resident who is trying to do his best in the difficult field. His discipline is a bit different and he's been navigating studying with ADHD, so he truly prides himself in hard work. When he comes across a rumor that someone slept their way through and didn't have to work as hard, he's pissed. Unfortunately, Sapphire Grace Rose is gorgeous and really smart.

Can they learn to deal with each other in the program? Is their bickering actually flirting in disguise? 🤷🏼‍♂️ guess you'll have to read to find out!

I've been watching the television show, ER, for the first time and I'm already on the penultimate season. It's taken me a year and I'm finally on the fourteenth season. I've always loved the medical field and I'm constantly on the hunt for books that feature that special topic. I saw Love Sick in the catalog and I was intrigued. It featured two doctors in the OB/GYN specialty who fall in love. Say less. I really loved the in-depth explanation of the various medical procedures, but ironically it's the romance that lost me. Our couple fought more than they flirted and it was difficult to root for them as a possible love match.

Julian seemed like a major sweetheart and I adored him as a love interest. Grace, on the other hand, was a major shrew. She did not work well with others and had a barbarous tongue. I get that there was a nasty rumor going through the hospital about her, but Julian apologized immediately. She was a prickly pear who I never ended up liking. Another element that irked me was the build up of sexual tension throughout the entire book but it ended up being mostly closed door with vague metaphors. What's the point of using steamy language if you're not gonna deliver? It's a minor complaint in the grand scheme of things, but I wasn't pleased.

Love Sick was a unique romance that took place in the hallowed halls of a hospital, especially from an author with firsthand experience. I wish the door was creaked more than a few inches in the bedroom, but I can leave the rest to my own imagination. Grace was a harridan who was burned by love, yet thankfully Julian nursed her back to health. I don't believe I'll continue with this author, but I am very happy I read a medical romance when they are very seldom published. I'll definitely need to take some acetaminophen because this left me Love Sick and not in a good way.

I requested this book on netgalley because I love medical romance especially ones written by physicians. I am a current medical student and love how I can find aspects of the physician characters so relatable (especially ones completing medical training). For this book, I think it did capture a lot of the struggles of medical training but didn't love how much focus there was on this rumor and how it almost became a character throughout a majority of the book. Also, while I did appreciate the DO representation (as a current DO student myself), I wish there was more there about how DOs, while yes have many stereotypes, is not an inferior degree / physician. The MD FMC and DO MMC were seen here completing the same residency which is very important, but the MMC sounded like he struggled a lot with being a DO. I think this book did capture some of the struggles of specific parts of OBGYN training and stereotypes, which is important for readers outside of medicine too. see. I thought it was really fun how the author brought in some of the things she experienced during medical training. Overall, I would recommend this book to people who enjoy medical romances, workplace romances, and enemies to lovers. The ending wrapped up a little quickly for me and wish we got to see a little bit more of them together. I look forward to future books by this author and will be checking them out.

I did really enjoy the story behind the Vagician poster. I listened to the audiobook (advanced listening copy) for most of this read and thought the narrators did a great job. It was a dual narration and they really brought their emotions with them to add into the read, which made the book a good listen.

I loved this one!

This one has:
-Grey’s vibes
-workplace romance
-slow burn
-enemies to lovers
-banter
-Mental health rep (both MMC and FMC)

This one also had an interesting dual-POV timeline: across all 4 years of the residency, with each chapter being a different chunk of time thought out their time at TUMC. The friendship and group time on the page really read like Grey’s, which I obviously loved, also.
I loved the chemistry between Grace and Julian as classmates, frenemies, and lovers!! There was perfect amount of sexual tension in both POVs, humorous banter/flirting, and just enough on page spice that was the perfect amount for me.
The misogyny, throughout the first 1/3 especially, was infuriating, and the enemies portion of the relationship almost bordered on bully romance for a minute to me, BUT i think both are kind of a huge point of the story/plot. They were both ultimately rounded out nicely in this world by the end of the book I thought.
I REEEEEALLY liked this one: it scratched the Grey’s itch, had great banter, and I loved the combination of the blushing/giggling will they-won’t they storyline mixed in with the more “serious” topics of workplace and career struggles and mental health.
Read this one when it’s out!!

Love may be the best medicine, but first-year resident Grace Rose isn’t prescribing it anytime soon. Not since her ex broke her heart in med school, and especially not since hearing the rumor that she slept her way into the OB-GYN program. (Spoiler alert: So not true.) With her social anxiety already in full spiral, Grace is determined to set the record straight. But after a tense first encounter with fellow resident Julian Santini—with his annoying good looks and witty charm—she realizes that her reputation may never fully recover.

Julian didn’t mean to offend Grace. After all, he’s just as fed up with the toxic “BrOB-GYN” culture as she is. He’s got his own drama to triage anyway—like proving that he earned his spot in this residency, not simply lucked into it. Still, something about Grace gets under his skin…and not always in a bad way.

I love medical romances, and when they're written by a doctor, all the better because they get the details right! It was fun getting to know Grace and Julian. Their chemistry is chef's kiss! This touches on a lot of the double standards women face in the workplace, especially in the medical field. If you love medical romances, pick this one up. You won't be disappointed! 4⭐

I received an advanced complimentary digital copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed are my own.

Now this is romance done right! Enemies to friends to lovers, I just ate this up. I loved the yearning and the build up, I felt that the pacing was perfect. I loved both characters and how each dealt with their own issues and insecurities. I surprisingly enjoyed the medical setting more than I thought I would, and loved how the characters were on the same track and developing at the same pace career wise, it was a great take on equalizing power dynamics. The book also explored misogyny in a way that was so well done and very accurate to many women’s lived experiences in the workplace. I always struggle with a third act break up, but felt that the reasoning and pacing behind this one made sense and was well done. Overall, I really had fun with this. Bring back yearning!!!

Lovers of medical dramas unite! This book has all of the personal intrigue that shows like ER and Grey's Anatomy captured. Here the main characters are Grace and Julian. They are young doctors who are dealing with the pressures of patients and awful bosses. Grace is awful navigating trauma from a previously abusive relationship, anxiety, and a terrible rumor that she is promiscuous. Julian has a lot of self-esteem issues around the fact that he has a hard time studying, and he is a DO instead of an MD. Julian and Grace definitely get off on the wrong foot, and spend almost the first half of the book antagonizing each other. They are pretty mean, and I got a little impatient with them. But then finally, they ended up becoming friends, and being very sweet. You can see how they are good for each other. The third act break-up was very emotional with quite a twist. If you like a Romance with some medical drama thrown in there, this book has both!

Thank you NetGalley for the free digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

O.M.G. This is the authors Debut Book???? I am BLOWN away with the writing and the accuracy with the medical procedures. A book about doctors, written by a doctor, might be my favorite part about this. The drama, the time jumps, the writing & the duel Pov. This was such a fun read for me.

Little bit of spoilers: here is your WARNING

Grace was a wonderful FMC, a little goofy bit just how we like our girl. she's from California with a different name from her hippie parent's so she goes by her middle name. the way the author portrayed her insecurities didn't take away from her at all. It made you feel for Grace and imagine what she had gone through without the feeling of Trama being forced down your throat. I was just wanting to give the poor girl a hug when she was having her lower moments.

Julian was raised but his mom and his older sisters. He was such a great book boyfriend that had his own insecurities that happen in a real relationship. I loved watching him fall HARD for the girl he didn't want to initially associate with.

They were so cute together in the bickering Firey moments and the sweet tender moments. I will be buying this book as I see myself re reading this one over and over again as I’m such a sucker for a doctor romance, and this one was perfection. I binged it in four days!

This was super cute! I loved the enemies to lovers. As well as the workplace romance aspect.
I really liked how it showed the slow burn aspect too.

There’s nothing like binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy for the first time, but Love Sick is a very close second.

First-year of residency is never easy, but for Grace and Julian it feels almost impossible. From rumors about promiscuity to judgments based on degree they are in a constant battle to prove themselves. But when the two team up - they quickly figure out that they have just what the other needs.

This slow-burn love story is exactly what the doctor would prescribe to those looking for fun banter and character growth. I would definitely recommend this book!

Unfortunately, this one didn’t work well for me. At first I was really interested in the medical setting- as any Grey's fan would be! I typically love an enemies to lovers trope but the dynamic between both Grace and Julian didn’t feel legit. The romance was also lacking as well as overall interest in the storyline.

Thank you so much NetGalley for this eARC, I really wanted to love this book but it wasn’t for me. I disliked the MMC from the beginning with the initial conflict. I HATED the rumors about the FMC and misogyny in the hospital department. I love that the author was trying to bring these issues to light but didn’t enjoy the execution. I felt like the romance was off and felt like it was more lust than love.

Grace Rose and Julian Santini are both OB-GYN residents who get off on the wrong foot after a miss-understanding concerning Grace's reputation. They begin as rivals with plenty of great banter, become reluctant friends with alllll the pining, and eventually lovers with some spice 🌶 .
I loved this one! Their chemistry was great and I couldn't put it down! I was invested in their relationship and loved the slow build up over the years. I can't believe this was just a debut, and am looking forward to reading more from Deidra Duncan in the future!

What a fun debut novel from Deidre Duncan! Very fun read from the perspective of an OB/GYN!

We follow Grace & Jullian as they enter their residency for OB/GYN. We meet the residents at a get to know each other party prior to the start date, and rumors are already spreading that one of the residents got into the program by sleeping her way through. Grace is not new to being made fun of for her different name, "Sapphire Rose" but we see what kind of damage gossip can do even as a resident!

At first Grace & Jullian hate each other after their first encounter goes less than ideal, enemies to lovers, close proximity, trope. The sexual tension is high, the flirting/hating is hilarious. I was literally laughing out loud during some of the banter. All this is done while following a great story line and adding some spice into the mix.

Medical drama/romance books have not really been on my radar in the past, as an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse also in SWFL (where the author is from) I found her authentic way to portray a story while keeping the medical side of things easy to follow and accurate really fun and actually loved it.

On a total side note, there's one scene where unless you work in medical, I don't think you really understand the true depth of love Grace gives Jullian. When Grace is doing Jullian's rounding so that he can have a better day/sleep more. If you know you know. Ugh, anyways, read this book! I loved it, and can't wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve!

Thank you NetGalley & Deidre Duncan for this early copy of Love Sick in exchange of my review!

Thank you to Netgalley and Canary Street Press for the advanced reader's copy of Love Sick by Deidra Duncan.

If you're a fan of slow-burn enemies to loves romances that simmer with tension, then Love Sick by Deidra Duncan is an absolute must-read.

We follow the high stakes journey from bickering colleagues to partners in both medicine and life of Julian and Grace. There is a lot of emotional depth to this story. I think what makes it stand out is that it's an authentic portrayal of the medical field. The author is a practicing OB/GYN,
I loved the witty banter and palpable tension. The dual POV also allows us as readers to delve into the evolving feelings of the characters, making every moment of their relationship feel earned and meaningful.

This novel also doesn't shy away from addressing important issues such as workplace discrimination and the challenges faced by women in male-dominated fields.
