Yessss this book was so much fun! I love a good social media thriller and this one hit the nail on the head. If you’re looking for a fun popcorn thriller full of drama and a good old whodunnit murder mystery, look no further! A perfect beach read that I will be recommending all summer!

I did fluctuate between 3 and 4 stars on this one. But the ending sent it into the 4 star range. It is a bit slow at first. But honestly, it could be because I am not very interested in the subject matter of lifestyle bloggers. So, take this review with a grain of salt.
Lizzie and Bex were best friends in college. After graduation, Bex vanished, leaving Lizzie confused and devastated.
One night out of the blue, Bex calls Lizzie with a career-making proposition—an exclusive interview with her about her multimillion-dollar business venture and an invitation to MomBomb, the high-profile influencing conference.
These characters are so full of lies and they really keep you on your toes. So, when a book has a lot of characters that just do not resonate with you, it tends to be a bit off. But, as this story moved along, I became more invested in Bex. I really wanted to know what was happening in her marriage. And y’all…this ending!
Need a good backstabbing mystery…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

This book was a tightly plotted and intricate compelling thriller about the secret world of influencing and mommy bloggers. I loved both of the main characters, and found both of the characters real and compelling. As a fan of Piazza's non fiction work, it is incorporated very well here to peel back to the curtain on what it really takes to make a living as an influencer. I especially liked the twist ending and am excited to recommend this to other people.

I really liked this book, you could kind of guess where everything was going but like the addition of Veronica's role at the end. There is def. enough story here as well for a book 2 and I would read it for sure, to see what happens next in this world! Would recommend to friends.

I chose this book because it reminded me of another influencer mystery book that I really liked, You Will Never Be Me. This one will resonate with people who follow r/fundiesnark, where people pick apart Christian influencers' lives one reel at a time. It's not bad.

Fun and twisty tale of murder with more thoughtful themes of what truly is a "tradwife" and the illusion that social media allows influencers to create. Fast paced and engaging. Great summer read!

What a fun read!!! Jo Piazza always brings such a fresh voice to her work, and I always trust she's done the research to really tell the story she's telling in the most true-to-life way while still keeping the story squarely fiction. This one's a winner!

This was interesting. This follows 2 friends. One who is a mom influencer and one who is a journalist. When the journalist gets invited to a Mom influencer event something tragic happens and we go through the two perspectives to see if the mom influencer is involved.
I liked how being an influencer was discussed and that behind the posts/reels/TikTok’s there isn’t a perfect life. You just never know what people are going through behind the cameras.
The topic of domestic violence is discussed throughout this story.

Everyone Is Lying To You is a psychological thriller about 2 women who went to school together and are reunited as adults, after the husband of one of them is found dead. One is a writer for a women’s magazine and one is a social media influencer - in trad wife genre. This book drives it home how social media is fake. That you cannot believe what you see nor should you let it affect your mental health. I loved the jabs at social media. I loved the jabs at the trad wife trend that is destroying everything women have fought for. I loved the twists and turns and red herrings that kept me guessing until the very end. It was a wild page turner of a ride that I didn’t want to end.

This was one of my most anticipated books of 2025, and Jo Piazza did not disappoint. I’ve been a fan since The Knockoff and Fitness Junkie and for me, her sharp yet nonjudgmental takes on culture always hit the mark.
In Everyone Is Lying to You, Piazza dives deep into the glossy, curated world of mom influencers and the tradwife movement. Lizzie, a journalist for an online magazine, is stunned when her former college best friend, Rebecca (formerly Bex), resurfaces after years of silence. Now a wildly successful trad-wife influencer, Rebecca invites Lizzie to cover a major announcement at an influencer conference.
What begins as a bizarre, yet surprisingly nice reunion quickly spirals into a high-stakes mystery. Rebecca disappears, her husband turns up brutally murdered, and Lizzie is left to untangle a web of secrets, curated personas, and digital deceit.
This book will keep you guessing and second-guessing. Smart, timely, and completely addictive. Five big stars.

I'm loving this recent #tradwife genre in mystery/suspense, and Jo Piazza's Everyone Is Lying to You is a twisty who-done-it that kept me guessing until the end. I loved this peek behind the world of influencing, where all is not as it seems, and there are secrets that will be revealed. Everyone is Lying to You is the perfect summer read, a true page-turner meant to be binged.

This book is all about instagram influencers and how nobody’s lives are what they appear to be. Things turn very ugly at a convention of influencers, particularly among the group considered to be tradwives where secrets are revealed and no one can be trusted when a murder is discovered.

I absolutely loved this. I feel like tradwives are having a moment in literature right now, which I am here for, and Jo Piazza’s in-depth knowledge of different elements of influencer culture and the trad wife movement as a whole is unmatched.
This book is written from a dual point of view and I was completely engaged. I even found myself reading it on the bathroom floor of a hotel room because my children needed to sleep but I needed to find out what happened next.
Judging by her Instagram, Rebecca is the perfect tradwife. When she invites her former close friend, Lizzie, to a luxury desert retreat for influencers, Lizzie can’t help but be intrigued and finds there’s more to the story than she realizes.

Lizzie and Bex were best friends until Bex disappeared after college graduation. Now, fifteen years later, Bex has transformed into a "traditional" wife and influencer with millions of followers, a ranch, a husband named Gray, and a brood of children. When Bex calls Lizzie to invite her to do an exclusive interview, it may be the big break her career needs.
Curious about not just the exclusive, but also why Bex abruptly ended their friendship, Lizzie heads to the MomBomb conference to reconnect with her. But when Gray is found murdered and Bex goes missing, Lizzie finds herself in a world of momfluencers and backstabbing.
Trigger warning: infertility
Why Jackie Loves It:
I do not know how Jo does it! Every book she writes is directly on the pulse of what is going on in the world. This book had EVERYTHING I could have hoped for from Jo and more. The book is fast-paced, the characters are so much fun to read and the social commentary is just beyond. #gifted by Dutton and PRH Audio

There are some genuinely unexpected moments in this popcorn thriller, and I enjoyed them! It also made me think more about the insidiousness of the influencer industry; I appreciate that Jo Piazza portrayed them in a realistic way and situated them within the mystery. Also, it kind of made me feel better about the "gotcha" moments I've experienced while looking at social media...

Everyone is Lying to You is not what I was expecting and I’m so happy about it! This fast paced popcorn thriller is whip smart, witty and a fantastic read.
Told in a dual POV by Bex/Rebecca a high profile social media influencer and her college friend Lizzie. They haven’t seen each other in over a decade when Rebecca contacts Lizzie to come to an influencer conference. Lizzie accepts the invitation and all heck breaks loose.
This is the perfect book to break anyone out of a reading slump. Fast paced and suspenseful, with multilayered characters this book is so much fun.

@duttonbooks @prhaudio @librofm | #partner Jo Piazza can always be counted on to deliver a solid, fun thriller and she’s done it again with 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗟𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨. In this, she takes on the #tradwifelife, lifting the veil on the seemingly “perfect” lives of these women living like it’s 1950 and literally selling it to their legions of social media followers. At the heart of her story are two women, Lizzie and Bex, who were best friends in college. The two had a falling out years ago, but finally reunite shortly after the story begins.
Bex, a mega-influencer, lures her old friend, who just happens to be a journalist, to an influencer conference (hilariously called Mom-Bomb) with the promise of a big reveal story that could reignite Lizzie’s flat career. With chapters alternating between the two, the fun begins. There’s everything you might expect in a story about #tradwife influencers going off the rails: drama, deceit, fawning, disappearances, and even…death.
I loved that Piazza took a good hard look at the tricks and schemes of big time influencers, while also acknowledging just how hooked many of us are on social media. It was both fun and satisfying to listen on audio, with an excellent cast of narrators. For me, this was a perfect story during a very busy time, so easy to go in and out of. I’d call it a definite beach read, and also think it would be great listening for a long drive. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘓𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘠𝘰𝘶 is out tomorrow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one was a great popcorn thriller, I flew through and had a lot of fun with it. The momfluencer hustle, the pressure to look perfect and making a living from it were all well done.

This book is written from the alternating perspectives of Lizzie and Rebecca. They were best friends in college but then post-college Bex (as she was then called) ghosted Lizzie. Now years later Lizzie is a journalist with two young kids, and Rebecca is a famous trad-wife influencer, with millions of followers obsessed with her life on the farm with many many kids. Then Rebecca reaches out to Lizzie and asks her to meet up with her at a mom influencer conference - and of course it turns out behind the scenes things are nothing like they appear on social media. And then Rebecca’s husband is murdered and Rebecca disappears, leaving Lizzie to try to figure out what happened.
This was such a fun read - combining a great mystery, a trad wife/influencer satire, and a portrait of friendship, marriage, parenthood, abuse and more - all with a subtle feminist thread running through it. I couldn’t put it down! So, another winner from Jo Piazza, who also impresses me with how she can write in any genre from book to book! Plus if you’re not already following her on Instagram you must, she is so funny!

OOOOOHHHHHH!! This is nice!! Okay, not really. I don't know a whole lot about podcasts or instagram or much social media other than Facebook. But my sister tells me lots of things. I loved the story, but I find it so hard to believe how much money is in it. But I read enough news to know there is. Weird!! One thing, I didn't want to put the book down.
