Wow I LOVED this. The writing is so sharp & biting, the topic is timely and the pace is excellent. If you partake in influencer culture at all, it’s a must read. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC! PS I want a sequel!

A tradwife influencer goes missing, her former BFF tries to find her and discovers the tradwife’s life is not as perfect as it looks on instagram.

This was a fast-paced, highly entertaining read that offers a peek behind the creepy Christian curtain of women who (supposedly) milk their own cows, bake bread from scratch from hand-ground, home-grown grain, can and pickle everything in sight, home-birth their MANY, MANY children, obey their manly husbands (and Jeebus), and always have perfect beachy waves in the middle of the prairie.

The mystery part of this wasn’t very mysterious to me, but I still loved it. This is a perfect summer read!

This was an interesting read for a few reasons. First of all, I really dug learning more about the world of influencers. I had NO idea of the complexity of the life lived by these, primarily, women. And I really dig that the book was set in a culture where the women are leading but are belittled by the misogyny of the conservatism. And the secrets of those men. Yikes. So deep and scary and very real, it seems. And then, to be smacked in the face with the truths at the end?! I didn’t come close to knowing most of it! Very well done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Everyone Is Lying to You by Jo Piazza is the perfect mix of murder mystery and social media drama. This book starts off with a simple catch up between two old college friends. One is a frazzled writer mom, the other is a polished tradwife influencer. Things spiral fast into a dark, twisty thriller full of secrets, scandals, and betrayal! It’s fun and full of drama, with honest takes on modern motherhood and curated online perfection.

I could not put this one down!! It was fun and fast-paced, but kept you guessing up until the very end. The premise of this book really caught my attention and Jo Piazza did a fabulous job depicting a behind the scenes look into the lives of “trad wives”, or really just influencers in general. Even if we don’t always want to admit it, the world is fascinated with the lives portrayed by real life influencers, and this book really shed a light on all that lies just beneath the surface. The back and forth between the two main characters was nicely paced, with each chapter revealing new layers that made this book impossible to put down.

Definitely add this one to your wishlist!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Dutton for an advanced copy of this book.

This book hooked me right away. I enjoyed and appreciated the social commentary on how "real life" influencers are and that they are all lying to us. My heart hopes that this becomes a series as I really want to continue the character's stories. I wish we learned a little more about Rebecca's children or heard their POV more, but all in all this story was good. I devoured it and wanted to know what happened.

Everyone Is Lying to You was a murder mystery wrapped up in an eye-opening exposure of the dark side of the world of social influencing. Told from dual points of view, one an uber successful "momfluencer" and the other her old college friend who is a regular person who works as a magazine editor. The husband of the influencer is brutally murdered. As the book continues, so many secrets are revealed leading up to a dramatic conclusion and an even more surprising epilogue set. This book is an entertaining and suspenseful read perfect for the beach or a cozy weekend.

I received an advance reader copy for free. All opinions are my own.

✨What a wild and unpredictable ride this was! The pacing was perfectly timed to pull me in and hold my attention – and just when I was sure I knew where we were going, I was completely floored by an absolutely bananas twist! A thriller, yes, but this one also has some serious dark comedy vibes as well.

✨The plot here is layered and nuanced with lots going on beneath the surface. The puzzle pieces came together slowly but surely for a jaw-dropping final reveal.

✨I love the peek behind the curtain of the life and work of famous influencers, the millions they rake in at the expense of authentic living and the scandals that so often befall them. The juxtaposition of their curated online lives versus their reality is very well represented in these pages.

✨The author is well-known for her expertise on the notorious dangers of so-called momfluencers and trad wives. I love how she has combined her thriller writing chops with her extensive research on the commodification of lives and families to bring a truly entertaining and suspenseful read.

Rebekah is an influencer who is seemingly living a perfect life. She has been estranged from her college friend Lizzie for years, but invites her to a conference full of influencers of all sorts. Lizzie is hesitant to trust this rekindling of their friendship, but is there for Rebekah when there is a horrific murder. Well written, and suspenseful, and you won’t see the ending coming!

A mostly locked room murder mystery set in the prairie Christian conservative blogosphere, this book had a wonderfully feminist undercurrent highlighting the multi-hyphenate women who are much more than momfluencers. Reminiscent of Ballerina Farm, but extremely dark, scary and with endless twists, this was a wild ride and extremely well done.

Do you have questions (and opinions) on Nara Smith? Do you know what (and who) a Ballerina Farm is? Did trying to learn how to swaddle your baby expose you to weirdly vacant christian mominfluencers? Jo Piazza has got the murder mystery for you. Strong writing, relatable characters, and quick with abound in this summer thriller. Using her investigate reporting on influencers as background, Piazza gifts the readers a recognizable world that satirizes, exposes and reveals the humanity of the women behind the tradwives.

This was one of my most looked forward to books of 2025 and it did not disappoint! Thank you to Penguin Dutton for the ARC to review.

I enjoyed this book very much. In a time when "momfluencers" are all over social media, it was fun to peel back the curtain and feel like I was getting the behind-the-scenes view. I also love a good murder mystery, so this was right up my alley. I love the title, "Everyone Is Lying To You," because it's so true, especially on social media. We've been socialized to curate our lives so meticulously that only our closest confidants know who we truly are or what struggles are going on in our lives. On the internet, everything is perfectly placed, filtered, and edited. That's not reality, and I enjoyed understanding how Rebecca's career came to be and what her real life was like underneath. I devoured this book and would highly recommend it to anyone who has ever been baffled by tradwives on TikTok and loves solving mysteries!

Everyone is Lying to You by Jo Piazza is the perfect summer read! I devoured this #tradwife influencer novel in no time at all. Piazza writes a fast-paced suspenseful modern thriller leaving readers on the edge of their seats the whole way through. It's a women's fiction redemption novel that also serves as a primer for wanna-be influencers worldwide!

The word I keep landing on when trying to describe this book is delicious- I absolutely devoured it! It is a wild ride through the world of trad wife influencing, which the author has researched extensively, mixed with an intensely suspenseful mystery/thriller. Lizzie, a struggling magazine writer, reconnects with her former best friend Bex, who strangely ghosted her years earlier. Bex, now an enormously popular trad wife influencer, promises Lizzie the scoop of a lifetime, and Lizzie can't resist, despite her anger and sadness at Bex's past behavior. The two meet up at a mom influencer conference, and the wild ride begins. Twists and turns and memorable characters abound, grabbing you right from the first page and not letting you go. After reading a lot of historical fiction, it was fun to read something so contemporary, and to get a glimpse behind the curtain of the influencer world, and even better that it was done so with such a deliciously entertaining and suspenseful narrative.

This is the ultimate tradwife story that shows not all that glitters is gold. A suspenseful story focusing on the relationship of two friends and the disappearance of one. Highly recommended!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton for the chance to review this book!

I would actually give this book more like 3.5 stars if it was an option. I really liked the character of Lizzie, and I wanted to stay longer in her world. With financial and parenting struggles, she is a very relatable character. Alas, we are whisked off to the desert (or prairie?) for a deep dive into the world of mama influencers. This aspect is really what drew me in and made me curious to read this book. After all, we all know so much of what we see on social media is fake, so it was nice to peek behind the curtain. I would have enjoyed more focus on this aspect. Overall the book felt like it was trying to squeeze too much in and the direction was a bit off. Is it a tale of estranged best friends trying to reunite? A study of influencers and social media? A murder mystery? The ending really required too much suspension of disbelief and felt a little rushed, with an odd focus on characters that we didn't really meet until the end. It also felt almost like it was trying to set up a sequel, with some of the unanswered questions being brought up in the last few pages and no resolution.

Reading Everyone Is Lying to You by Jo Piazza was a thrilling and immersive experience that had me questioning every character's motives. I was captivated by the dark undercurrents of social media influencer culture, which added layers of complexity to the plot. This book left me reflecting on the nature of truth and deception in our digital age, making it a compelling read that I couldn't put down.

I know very little about social influencers, so I thought there was too much about it at the beginning of the book. It got a lot better as it went along and the characters started to stand out. I was not impressed by the convention of influencers, could not see the point of it,

I am so impressed with Jo Piazza's commitment to the trad wife suspense novel! It's a seering social commentary on the current state of influencers and work from home moms/the new wave of trad wife popularity, all wrapped up in a delicious murder mystery. I believe it will be the first of its kind, but I foresee a LOT of copycat trad wife stories about to hit the market, and I doubt any of them will be as good or innovative.

Who Can You Trust When Everyone is Lying? 🤔
Imagine scrolling through Instagram, watching a picture-perfect influencer live out a dreamy, curated life—only to find out that behind the aesthetic farmhouse and perfectly arranged family photos, there’s murder, scandal, and secrets darker than a badly lit Reel. The Ultimate #Tradwife Scandal 💍🔪
Bex—now Rebecca Sommers—is the ultimate influencer, serving up wholesome, Pinterest-perfect tradwife content to millions of adoring followers. But when her husband turns up brutally murdered and she mysteriously vanishes, things take a turn from cozy country chic to full-blown crime scene. 😳

Why You’ll Be Obsessed 📱🔥
A Murder That Breaks the Algorithm: The pacing is as addictive as doom-scrolling your For You Page. Each twist is juicier than the last.

Toxic Friendships & Social Media Fakery: The novel brilliantly skewers influencer culture, showing the unsettling contrast between what’s posted online and what’s happening IRL.

Unputdownable Suspense: Every chapter ends with a what-the-heck moment that makes you say, “Just one more page…” until you realize it’s 3 a.m. and you’re still reading.

Final Verdict: A Must-Read Thriller 🏆
