Lizzie, now a magazine writer for Modern Women, hasn't spoken to her best friend, Bex, since Bex ghosted her after college. However, Lizzie has kept up with Bex's life, who is now better known as Rebecca or 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚, as she has become an influencer with a substantial following.
When Rebecca reaches out to Lizzie with a proposition to write an article about her, Lizzie is caught off guard. Feeling compelled to reconnect with her old friend in search of closure regarding the end of their friendship, she discovers much more than she anticipated.

Influencers have a unique ability to make everything appear effortless. This book really puts it all into perspective. It's easy to glance at someone else's social media profile and feel a sense of unfairness—everything seems so flawless and uncomplicated. However, the truth is that it is all carefully curated. This is undoubtedly a book I would recommend repeatedly.
Not everything is as it seems, and not everyone is as perfect as they portray themselves to be.
What a wild and captivating ride this book was! The twists were both surprising and well executed; I was hooked from the very first page. It truly was a thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat.
There was a lot happening, but it all comes together perfectly at the end to tell one unhinged story. I loved it!

#TradWife books are the new thing? This is the second I've read in a matter of 2 months and I am here for the narrative! it is insanely entertaining.

This was an absolute page turning delight from start to finish. The pacing is perfection, the mystery was a little scary and the tradwife plot-line was AMAZING. I loved every page and am sad it’s over! I’ll read anything Jo Piazza writes!

I just finished Everyone Is Lying to You and flew through it. It’s twisty, messy, and full of drama in the best way. The story follows Lizzie, a writer and mom who reconnects with her old college friend Bex—now a picture-perfect influencer with a seemingly flawless life. But of course, nothing is really as it seems.
Right when you think it’s about to be a simple “long-lost friend” story, things take a sharp turn—murder, secrets, and influencer world chaos. I wouldn’t say it was perfect, but it kept me turning pages. The pacing was solid, and I stayed curious the whole time. Some parts were a little over the top, but honestly, I didn’t mind. It made for a fun, bingeable read.
If you like your thrillers with social media drama, old friendships, and lots of secrets, definitely give this one a shot. I gave it 4 stars—it kept me engaged from start to finish.

Thank you, NetGalley, and the publisher for the early copy of this book.
I did not know we all needed this book in our lives. This story had everything, complicated characters, interesting plot with surprising twists, and a very strong social commentary on influences culture and women role in it.
I read this book in less then 24 hours which is very fast for me, that's how fast and gripping the plot was. The way Jo Piazza wrote about #tradewife and general influencer culture had me laugh, gasp and I will never trust anything I see on my Instagram feed.
All of the twists came out of nowhere because I truly was too focused on the whole "how we create our content", but the twists were fresh and made sense within the story. If you need someone to root for, you will not find them here. This is definitely a case of morally questionable cast and I think partially that is a whole point to the book.
Overall, highly recommend and this is my favorite thriller of the year so far.

I have been wanting to read this book since I heard of it and it did not disappoint! Tradwives, influencers, henfluencers, murder...the perfect recipe for entertainment but then Jo brings us elements of female friendship, women in power and what it means to find out who you are and want to be. I appreciate the depth of research that went into writing this book and the behind the scenes look it feels we get to peek at when it comes to what influencer life is really like. I've seen some of the true tradwife behavior play out in real life and this book confirmed so much! Loved it!!!!

This is such a twisted book. If you love a book with twists and turns, then you I highly suggest this book. It has everything from the supposedly perfect family to manipulation one could never dream of. The characters leap off the page and their stories will keep the reader engaged from page one till this twisted ride ends.
Thank you so much to Penguin Group Dutton and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

This is the second book I've read this month that deals with traditional homemakers and the iron grip of men and the church. The only difference is that this book kept me mesmerized because of the mystery and the fact that it deals with influencers. I learned a lot about what goes into being a highly rated influencer and how many influencers are creating lies for us mere mortals to envy.
I highly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down to save my life. I just had to know who was manipulating whom and who was the murderer. Some of the things that happen in this book can be quite distressing for those who have had issues with manipulative men or trouble with a specific type of church.
Even though I've finished this book, I'm scratching my head wondering just what Olivia was doing in the background all the time, and was it legal?
Definitely a must-read and perfect for book clubs. It was a fast read, so great for vacations or the beach.

Loved the twist in this plot, kept me turning the pages and wanting to know how it ended but not wanting the book to end. This will be the next bestselling psychological thriller.

This was a good read! A deep dive into the underbelly of social media and the world of influencers. Deception. Sleight of hand. MONEY!!! Huge MONEY. And what some people are capable of doing in the name of money, power, control and family. And when envy and jealousy enters the picture … all bets are off. It’s every man for himself.. or herself. God help them all.

Rebecca and Lizzie lost touch years ago only to reconnect at the MomBomb conference, where Rebecca asked Lizzie to come to do a profile on her for the magazine. The curtain behind the mom-fluencer world is cracked, and there’s something sinister afoot. A compelling story that kept me up all night! You’ll have to find out which is the lie and which is the truth.

The premise of this book was so intriguing, but it fell a bit short for me. It was still a good read, it just didn’t knock me off my feet the way I hoped it would. As someone who can get past most flaws in a book if the characters resonate with me or elicit a reaction from me, I just felt like these characters were flat. None of them excited, angered, or annoyed me like I always find myself hoping a character does. Despite this, I think the mom influencer aspect was relevant and interesting, and still flew through the book because I had to know how it all played out.

Gone Girl but make it trad wives is a pretty apt description!
This book was a great skewering of social media and the way influencers pretend their lives are real and authentic, so others will aspire to be like them. So much spot-on commentary via these characters.
If you like thrillers and are tired of influencer culture, you will love this book! The mystery is fast-paced and twisty enough to be satisfying, while the characters are entertaining and make you want to root for them.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for this free reader in exchange for an honest review. From the moment, I started reading this book, I could not put it down. I found the topic fascinating, a murder mystery set in the world on online influencers. I admit, like most people there are Instagram people I have been "influenced" by and to think that they are perhaps on a set not in their real home and that each action is stage and monetized was eye opening to me. I am not completely naïve to the aspect of editing content, but this was way beyond anything I could imagine. And then to add all the hashtags and the additional influencers that people are trying to take advantage of was a real wow moment for me. What also caught my attention was the "tradwife" and the patriarchy and how trapped these women are, by outward appearances anyway, when they in fact are the true breadwinners of the family, but how desperate they could become. I would highly recommend this book.

Loved this, it was hard to put down. The story is bananas and the twists are plentiful. This was a breezy, fun read - I just needed a drink and a poolside to make it perfect!

Thank you to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Dutton | Dutton for providing me with an electronic advance reader copy.
Another sharp, fast-paced read from Jo Piazza. If you're a fan of thrillers, this one won’t disappoint. Equal parts witty and suspenseful, it kept me fully engaged as I raced through the pages, eager to unravel the ending. Timely and thought-provoking, it offers a fresh take on the world of social media influencers—especially the curated personas of conservative “tradwives.” I’ve never read anything quite like it.

Eveyone is lying to you is new Thrilling Novel based on Influencers. Rebecca seemingly has the perfect life . A farm ,children and a handsome husband. Her former best friend LIzzie thinks are life is not quite perfect after watching Rebecca"s like on Instagram. Suddenly one day she gets a message from Rebecca saying she needs to see her . After this Lizzie's world turns into a roller coaster. so close to the actual world we live in now where everyone's life seems better than ours, this novel is a twist a minute

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Gone Girl had a demented baby and named it “Everyone is Lying to You.”
I devoured this thriller. Trad wife influencers with secrets upon secrets and a husband turning up dead? I’m seated.
The friendship that was the connective tissue of this novel keeps you curiously attached and full of intrigue.
As a thriller it’s a four star for me, but overall thrillers never pass the four star mark because I’m a lush, poetic, literary reader. If thrillers are your main genre, you’re going to love this!

Jo Piazza is just such a fun writer—she can mix so many genres together (here, mystery/thriller, light satire, and women's fiction) and have the whole book humming along. She's very funny, as well! I really enjoyed the setting for this book (the desert/plains are so ominous) and the dual narration from Bex and Lizzie. I also liked how the women's relationship and history was the key to rescuing Bex and her kids. The way domestic violence was written about was sensitive and truthful. Just a great read, my favorite of hers since Charlotte Walsh Loves to Win.

Everyone Lies to You by Jo Piazza is an exceptional storytelling novel that features unexpected twists. It’s a timely and propulsive suspense novel that offers a unique perspective on social media influencers, particularly conservative traditional wives who present idealized versions of their lives. Unfortunately, no one’s life is perfect, and it’s disheartening to gain followers and lucrative sponsors for such a facade. Every woman should read this fast-paced and brilliant mystery! I highly recommend it!
