Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This was my last holiday book of the season and I adored it. It was perfect and made my heart so warm and happy.

This is a sweet, closed-door romance. Preschool teacher Andie is facing down her first Hannukah without her father, her mother having passed long ago, just as the preschool she works at is closing its doors due to lack of funding. One bright spot is her hottie neighbor, Leo, also Jewish and (most importantly) single. Things with Leo heat up just as Andie must decide whether to take a job offer out of town. She's a practical queen (her out town job offers education reimbursement benefits-- how could she turn that down??), yet the potential with Leo and his boisterous family gives her pause.

Leo must confront his own strained relationship with his father, who is nursing a years' long grudge stemming from Leo's adolescent lapse of judgment. Leo has spent years trying to regain his father's trust so he and his brother can take over the family antiques business. Things come to a head when Andie gets pulled into the maelstrom.

This story deals with themes of loss, the longing to belong, chosen family, and redemption. Narrator Kelli Tager does an excellent job bringing the characters to life.

I enjoyed listening to this book. My only issue was I wish it had been available during the holiday season. As someone who celebrates Hanukkah there are not many books for us to enjoy. While this is a romance book there is more to it than that which I enjoyed. The characters were well developed, there was a good amount of drama, and a lot of holiday spirit. This book was very cute!

Oh my goodness! I loved everything about this book! I loved the characters, their jobs, the family dynamics, the knowledge I gained about Hanukkah, and the inclusion of someone with a hearing impairment.

I truly can’t wait for another novel from Miri White!
