What a fantastic story! I enjoyed Rosie's appearances in the prior books of this series, and this story focuses on her in all her red-eyed, immortal glory. I looooooved Adam who is the mastermind behind the Tanria portals and who is shorter than Rosie! Really loved that detail. Megan Bannen's storytelling sensibilities match mine so well; I especially appreciate how cute the dragons are. The dynamic between Rosie and Adam was lovely, and I really enjoyed where the story went.
Megan Bannen is an auto-buy author at this point!
Thanks to NetGalley and Orbit Books for the eARC.

This was such a beautiful, whimsical fantasy novel. It can easily be read as a standalone, but I do think it’s more meaningful if you’ve read either or both of the books the precede it. Rosie and Adam are so lovable, and you can’t help but root for them. They have backstory that you learn as you go and is both predictable and unpredictable. Even the things you predict are still impactful and endearing.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

What a delightful farewell to the world of Tanria and Enternity that Megan Bannen has created. Did this book have its flaws? Sure. All books do. But I truly loved this story of Rosie, an immortal demigod who towers over all of her human friends, and Adam, a genius inventor who has a very large chip on his pint-sized shoulders. Rosie and Adam join some of our favorite Eternity friends on a quest to find out what is causing the portals through the Tanrian mists to stop working. Everyone ends up finding out a lot about what they want out their mortal/immortal lives, we hear too much about Rosie’s intimate apparel, and we get an epilogue that wraps us this package very nicely. Thank you, Megan Bannen, for this series and its heartfelt characters you have shared with us.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

I thought this was a good conclusion to the Hart and Mercy series, Adam and Rosie seemed to have a good slow burn romance happening but then it felt like insta love after their first kiss. I loved the forced proximity and the banter.

This was so much fun to read! It mentioned that this is the last book in the series, which is a bit sad to say goodbye to this world, but we spend some really fun times, and they had a heck of a send off with this book! I really enjoyed Rosie and Adam's story!
Rosie was such an interesting character to read about, she's immortal, she's died multiple times, but keeps coming back. She's lost a lot of loved ones, but her father, the god that she inherited that from, well, that's an interesting relationship, given which god he was. And then there's Adam, very much a mystery, who has been pretty isolated, just going to work and going home. Their romance was so adorable to read!
That moment when I figured out one point of this story, that was a lightning bolt, when this thing was next mentioned after we learned some other facts, yeah, that was a delightful moment of discovery! Just making that connection from this, connects to that, was a great feeling!
The scope of this book was about equal to the previous books, with events happening that are going to cause sweeping changes, not that we'll get to see most of it besides the initial fall out. Watching as events progressed was just fantastic and I loved how things worked out for everyone!
This was a wonderful read and I can't wait to read more by Megan Bannen!

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this novel.
This was everything I hoped for. The finale of Rosie and Adam were perfect and I just wish the story would never end.
The character development of all the characters, Pen and Zeddie included, was amazing. I will miss this weird little family.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit Book for the eArc!
This was a surprisingly touching and heartwarming story and a wonderful end to the series.
Rosie is a fellow tall girl (at 6'5' she is a few inches taller than me, but I did relate to her struggles) and is unlucky in love. Adam hasn't really lived in quite a long time. Together, they go on an adventure that spans barriers and time.
I loved the cameos from past MCs and all of the little Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the story. Rosie's vulnerability and raw emotions had me in my feels for most of the story. Bannen has this ability to write truly relatable and down to earth FMCs and Rosie might just be my favorite. Never thought she would fall in love, and yet, here she is.
A truly exceptional end to a fantastical story- I will be sad to finally leave Tanria and this eccentric cast of characters.

Thanks to Netgalley, for loaning me a copy early. I was so thrilled and this did not disappoint!
I’ve been looking forward to this one since the ending the last one. The little glimpses we got of Rosie in the previous books had me excited for a fun new character.
In this one, the portals that have allowed people to come and go from Tanria are mysteriously breaking down and demi-god Rosie Fox and the portals’ inventor have to figure out how to fix them. Rosie is a great character! She’s fun and bright, an outward appearance that covers a growing dread that comes from being immortal and outliving all those she loves. Adam is Rosie’s opposite, a man who seems to be going through life being as beige as possible. Despite the meditations on mortality and the threat of being trapped on the wrong side of the portals, the book is pretty lighthearted for the most part, with lots of banter.
As a huge fan of this series, I very much enjoyed myself! The world is so unique and the characters are so lovable. I’m sad to hear that this is the last in the series, but I look forward to seeing what the author does next!

This felt like a Hallmark mystery flick but with spice! I was totally unprepared for the spice, but hey, surprise me, why don’t you? However, it missed that "Whodunit?" thrill that keeps you binge-reading until dawn. I cracked the killer's identity early on, but their motive? That took forever, and by the time it was revealed, I was like, “Oh. Ok.”
The number of tropes was rivaled only by the cast of characters - seriously, it was a character overload! Each character comes with their own dramatic saga, adding to the confusion.
In the end, I wasn’t rooting for any of the characters, the plot felt like a wild goose chase, and the spice felt like it was sprinkled in haphazardly. The story could’ve wrapped up after the big reveal (then we had that whole cougar subplot? Like what?!) The use of ellipses was overkill, the ‘fake’ book snippets disrupted the flow, and did I mention I really didn’t care for any of the characters, especially the FMC? A miss for me overall.

I just finished reading The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam by Megan Bannen and gave it 4 stars.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Orbit Books (@orbitbooks) for the ARC!
This is my second favorite in the series—book one still holds the top spot for me. I continue to be enchanted by this whimsical fantasy world, filled with stories of the Old and New Gods, the journey of mortal souls across the Salt Sea, and the promise that every soul will eventually find its way to the House of the Unknown Gods. The spiritual depth and richness of this world really stand out.
This installment follows Rosie, a marshal and demigod who happens to be immortal, as she's tasked with assisting Dr. Adam Lee during his visit to Tanria—the prison of the Old Gods. Their mission? Repair the broken portals. But things take a turn when they become trapped due to a mysterious, invasive plant only they can see. To save the strange creatures that call Tanria home, they must work together to unravel an old curse—one that also reveals Adam's true identity. As they spend time together, their partnership evolves into something deeper and more romantic.
It’s a fun, adventurous read with a satisfying happily ever after. It also left me reflecting on the nature of immortality—whether it’s a gift or a burden. Ultimately, the story suggests that there’s something profoundly beautiful about living a mortal life, with all its limits and meaning, rather than simply existing forever.

This was a great way to wrap-up this trilogy! Not only did we get to learn more about main characters who had been previously mentioned, but. certain lovable, scene-stealing side characters are back as well! Each book in this trilogy shares some vibes while simultaneously giving a unique take on this fantasy world. Definitely an entertaining read and I really enjoyed how the main characters again had characteristics that defy standardized romance stereotypes.

This series is the best, and this installment lives up to its predecessors. The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam is a bit of mystery, a lot of romance in a fun world. I'm truly sad this is the last installment in the Hart and Mercy series.
Rosie: a tall older Demigod who love sexy undergarments.
Adam: a short, younger uptight portal fixer.
Together: a found family
Great to visit with the series previous series characters, especially Duckers. My heart couldn't be happier for him and his husband.
Thank you Orbit Books.

Welcome back to Tanria!
The newest book from the Hart and Mercy series focuses on Rosie, a demi-god who is known for dying, and Adam, the genius but stoic inventor of the portals that lead into Tanria. When the portals start to fail, an emergency evacuation of Tanria is declared, leaving Rosie and Adam trapped in Tanria alone. As the two work together to make their way back over the mist, Rosie is determined to break Adams's cool exterior and learn what secrets hide beneath.
I was excited to see that there would be a third book in the Hart and Mercy series. I loved the first two books. Rosie has always been a fun character with her quirk of dying continuously. This book was the perfect way to end a trilogy. Not only do we get the romance between Rosie and Adam, but we also get to see the characters from the previous books ten years later. I loved learning about the future of Hart and Mercy and discovering if Duckers and Zeddy's relationship survived after all these years. This cozy fantasy gives readers the conclusion we've all been waiting for.
The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam is out July 8th.
Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio and Orbit Books for the opportunity to review The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam. all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Do I feel like a part of me has died knowing this is the last Tanria book we get? You betcha, but what a wonderful way to die. Queen Megan Bannen gave us a Marshall Rosie Fox romance AND a Duckers romance! I am deceased. I was delighted as always to go on this absolutely bonkers ride. Dragons, lots of Old Gods/New Gods lore, our favorite grumpy water horsey, and lots of appearances by beloved characters. We also got some great romance tropes, some beautifully turned topsy-turvy. A little bit grumpy x sunshine, but mostly quiet boy x loud girl, Tall girl x small boy, second chance romance and more. My only complaint is that this one was a little more heavy on the mystery, fantasy elements, so the romance didn't really hit until about halfway in. But, when it hit it was worth it, so that's okay. Overall, a fabulous conclusion to a beloved series and one I will most certainly be rereading many times!

I am a huge fan of this series and find it unique and refreshing and delightful. This is the third installment (interconnected standalones, so you can read in whatever order speaks to you, but I've done publication order and found little easter eggs from books past). This is so fun - this one felt a little more supernatural/fantasy-esque than the others. The characters were delightful, the story and plot moved, and I loved it. Can't wait to hear the audio!
Thank you to NetGalley for gifting me this eARC in exchange for my honest review. I appreciate it!

This is my favorite of the series. Everything comes full circle, and the characters are all so much fun. Rosie is a fantastic protagonist, and I love that Duckers and Zeddie and the dragons are back. Rosie is hilarious, and Adam's dry wit is great. The romance is sweet while the adventure is enticing. And all the lore and gods coming into play was so much fun after two books and a short story of buildup.
Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review.

Megan Bannen does not miss when she is writing cozy fantasy romance, and I loved the ending to the Tanrian trilogy! I always enjoy when we get to see the same cast of characters across books while introducing new characters and depth to the world, and this book did exactly that. I was so interested in Rosie in previous books, so reading her story was such a nice ending for the trilogy. I found myself genuinely not sure where the plot would go as Bannen presented quite a few possible options, but I am so pleased with how she gave everyone their happily ever after. I don't usually get happy tears while reading, but I certainly did when finishing this story!

This was such a unique conclusion to this trilogy - all the lore that this brings up about the world itself and the gods is so cool and really just full rounds out all the world building done throughout all three books. It also wraps up every characters story so nicely, especially with the big time jumps on both ends.
The narrator for this also did such an amazing job bringing all the characters to life. Her voice fit Rosie especially so incredibly well and it really made the book that much more immersive.
Thank you to Orbit, Hachette Audio, and Netgalley for the advanced copy!

Ahhh Eternity - I love Tanria, I love these characters, I love this series, and I'm sad that it's over - but what a way to go.
For those who haven't been reading this series, definitely read the other two first - the whole series is a wacky, expectation-defying ride that is worth experiencing firsthand. In addition to introducing Rosie and Adam's relationship, this third and final entry into the series serves as a way to wrap up what's been going on in this world and send off our characters in a loving way. (While the initial timejump was confusing for awhile, I'm so grateful for the opportunity to see what Hart, Mercy, Twyla, and Frank have been up to!) This particular entry into the series reunites some series-favourite side characters, strands us in Tanria, sets up a mystery, and gives us Rosie - a 6'5" immortal demigod, and Adam - a 5'5" ("pocket man" dear gods) sarcastic university professor who generally keeps to himself...and may have a mystery or two of his own up his sleeves (past those gorgeous forearms).
These books have given me so much, from it's You've Got Mail-ish roots to a western with zombies to middle-aged love to dragons to demigods to existentialist thoughts about the cost of immortality. And each and every entry has been just a hell of a fun time to boot. While I'm sad to be saying good to this universe, I can't wait to see what Megan Bannen cooks up next.
Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

Unfortunately, this book was just not for me. It was all over the place from the very first page, and I just couldn't keep track. It made me feel incredibly overwhelmed just trying to read it, and I could not continue.
