This was such a cute book! As someone who enjoys D&D this book did justice! I really liked the relationship between Sadie and Noah, especially Noah being a cinnamon roll type guy was so sweet! Also very relatable characters with myself being like Sadie and my husband like Noah I loved their dynamics! The D&D side was very immersive and their group was fun with the “found family aspect” I felt like I was a part of their party too! I’m definitely going to get his book when it releases and I hope the author writes more D&D inspired books!

This was so quirky and fun. The premise is great, the back and forth between real world and DnD was a great idea. I think the author could work on pacing and making the main characters more engaging.
I felt like it would be really good for about 20 pages and then be boring for a long time. I didn’t really care for any of the characters. I wasn’t rooting for anyone,
The idea is there just the execution doesn’t work for me.

Story Overview:
Two fledgling tabletop gamers find themselves falling for each other—both in and out of their weekly D&D sessions—in this charming, fantasy-tinged romance.

You'll love this if you love:
• Dungeons and Dragons
• Sweet romances
• Tandem stories (you get to read parts of the D&D campaign in this as well!)
• Hallmark movie vibes (leaving the big city for a small town)
• Found family
As a D&D player and avid romance reader, I absolutely loved this sweet story. I've already ordered my own copy of this book and have been recommending it to all of my friends!

The cutest lil nerdy rom-com!! Just absolutely loved the banter. The pacing felt perfect and I had so much fun reading this book.

Thank you to Penguin Random House for an arc of this story!
The premise of this is so adorable, but unfortunately i just didnt enjoy it. It started a bit slow, and the writing left me a little confused when we were going back and forth between real world and their DND session.
I love RPG's and wanted to love this story too but i think it just wasnt for me. I think its still a book worth checking out however if it sounds good to you!

Thanks to Ballantine/Dell Romance for the early copy! This book was unique in the way it had two stories being told about the romance between two people and the DnD characters! Though, the pacing was a little off for me in the beginning but it really started to hit it's stride around the middle. This story was cute, nerdy, cozy and often times, made me laugh out loud!

Okay, this book? Adorable and nerdy in the best way.
Roll for Romance is like curling up under a blanket with all the slow-burn feelings. Sadie escapes her stressful city life and ends up in a small Texas town, where she’s roped into a Dungeons & Dragons game and that’s where the real magic starts!
Noah (the mmc) is totally dreamy, the story (and banter!) is flirty and warm and the found family trope made me all warm and fuzzy inside. The story flips between the game and real life and it’s so fun seeing how the characters grow in both. It truly made my heart flutter. Lenora Woods rolled a 5/5 for me with this one.
If you’re into romances, good banter, and just a hint of fantasy vibes, this one’s for you.
Releasing July 15th!
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group—Ballantine for an arc of this book. All opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love geeky stories about D&D. I also love romance and this was just the perfect mix.!

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Roll for Romance had a fun premise with a lot of potential, especially for fans of Dungeons & Dragons-inspired stories and nerdy romance. I was intrigued by the concept and was hoping for something quirky, light, and engaging.
Unfortunately, the execution fell a bit flat for me. While the story had its moments, I found the pacing slow and the plot somewhat uneventful. It felt like it was missing a spark to really pull me in. The writing was okay, but the story just didn’t do much to keep my attention.
Overall, it was an original idea with a cute setup, but I personally found it a little boring. That said, it may still work for readers looking for a low-stakes romance with a geeky twist.

Roll for Romance is a fun debut with a twist of dual storytelling between the present day characters and their alter egos while playing DND! I’ve never seen anything like it and absolutely love Sadie and Noah’s chemistry. This story follows Sadie staying with her best friend after separating from her job. Best friend Liam starts a DND group to immerse everyone into the quests and their characters which brings in the second story within the story. I also love how burnout is explored and shown with Sadie as she recovers slowly and finds her passion. Sometimes the plan we outlined isn’t the plan we always end up following, and that’s not a bad thing.
Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the eARC.

Excuse me as I SQUEALLLL about how cute this book was. Nat-20 stars for sure.
Lenora Woods does a wonderful job of building up the chemistry between the two leads, and I appreciate how they both are sunshine-y in their own ways. Sadie and Noah feel like people I would want to be friends with. I also LOVED the DnD campaign shown throughout; it is just as fleshed-out and dramatic as the actual romance, and it lowkey made me want to play DnD. The way DnD was referenced and helped Sadie take charge of her life was such a wonderful plot device. All of the side characters are super strong too (Liam's story in book 2? Please?)
I can't wait to see what more is in store from this author! Hopefully more beautiful stories with beautiful covers to match :)
Side note: I have never played DnD, I don't know much about it, but this was written in a super accessible way. Fans and newbies alike will appreciate this book and appreciate Jaylie's quest.

This is one of the most unique books I’ve read in a while! Woods seamlessly intertwines two worlds: the real world and the fantasy story being played out in the DND campaign.
As someone who has never played DND before, the initial swap into that world threw me for a little bit but once you realize what’s happening, it’s pretty easy to follow. There are some slow parts of the book, but I think it makes it a cozy read.
I found it easy to relate to Sadie, someone who’s burnt out from her career in NYC. Recovering in Heller gives her the freedom to rediscover her love of art, make friends, and figure out what she really wants.
The romance was so sweet! Sadie and Noah are instantly drawn to each other, often flirting through their DND characters, but it’s a slow burn. Both are both unsure what to do or where to go next in life, over the course of the story they’re able to figure things out. There’s no big drama so it felt realistic.

Cute! Loved following the characters in and out of their D&D Campaign.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the E-Arc!

This story centers around Sadie, a woman whose work burnout from working NYC led her to move in with her best friend, Liam in Texas. There she rediscovers her passion for art and at the suggestion of Liam, starts a D&D campaign where she meets Noah and a slow burn romance ensues.
I enjoyed this novel because Lenora Woods actually immersed us in the D&D campaign through a fantasy narrative and gave us two storylines to follow. Sadie as a main character was enjoyable and I found myself relating to her trying to find her way in this world after dealing with being fired. The romance between her and Noah had me kicking my feet at times as they continue to flirt and dance around each other in almost every single interaction and the slow burn is real.
For those looking for a cozy slow burn, this is it as there is really only a handful of spicy moments. Ultimately, I gave this 4 stars because I did find the pacing to be inconsistent at times.

Unfortunately, the book didn't resonate with me, and it's not about the quality of the writing, but rather the lack of connection with the story. I'm not familiar with D&D and have never played.
In my opinion, the book might appeal to those already familiar with D&D, but for me, it was too much information.

Another D&D player romance which has become one of my favorite types of reads. This romance was different, not only did we get Sadie's point of view, but also her D&D character, Jaylie. The pacing was slow, but it made up for it by the immersive storytelling of the D&D game. I loved every second of it (even though I skipped the smut scenes). Noah and Sadie romance is nerdy, sweet, and honestly the cutest couple by far.
I highly recommend if you are a fan of D&D and nerds being nerds and falling in love.

I love when there's a parallel to a game in the book that's so strong they're blurred. That's her life now, and she needs to decide which life she wants to continue, New York, or Texas. Such a sweet romance.

Definitely a super interesting way to write a story! I don’t know anything about DnD but the dual pov (?) between the real world and the game world was fun and different!
It felt a bit insta-lovey but when you know you know I guess. There’s a lot of realllly small details about almost everything packed in here, which makes this a dense info packed read, not necessarily my favorite (readers can fill in gaps/ we don’t need to know exactly how she tied her shoes for example). Overall I liked this though!

Perhaps I am biased with how this book is D&D related, perhaps I'm just a simply girlie who has an affinity for males who look like Gale in the cover? Who knows. But one thing's for sure, I stayed UP for Noah and Jaylie.
This book dives between two different stories, just in case anyone is wary of that—the way it's done makes sense, and I find it interesting, I'll say that. Any more and I would give out spoilers. 😭 It's recommended for people who have not gotten the chance to try their hand out in D&D because the sessions are made easier to understand, which I find very considerate.
The FMC, Jaylie, is not a teen (thank goodness!!), which made her current situation much more relatable. I do believe that she can still be a stronger FMC in a way that I know the author knows how, but she honestly felt a little meh to me. But boy, oh boy, Noah... what a character.
OH, and THAT scene?! THAT scene, yeah. MHMM I thought they were done and it would be fade to black but nOooooOOo, they kept going!!! Which, thank you, Lenora, for that. Truly. My gauze-filled mouth did not appreciate the way I had to wiggle around so much in bed throughout that whole scene, but you know what? I rolled a Nat20 in Dexterity. 😤
Would I recommend this book? ABSOLUTELY!! Especially for people wanting to see the hype in D&D, as well as for my fellow hopeless, adventuring, romantics out there. The book is currently available for pre-order, so feel free to grab one as it also includes their lovely characters. 🥹🥹
AND BEFORE I CLOSE THIS OFF—DOES THAT MEAN IN THE END ONE OF THEM IS CANONICALLY A WARLOCK BECAUSE HELL YEAAAA THAT'S MY CLASS!!!!!!
