What a perfect end for Molly the Maid. Wrapping up on this series feels a little bittersweet. I will miss Molly's quirkiness and her stories of her and her Gran. Good things are just around the corner for Molly - as the esteemed Head Maid and recently promoted Special Events Manager of the Regency Grand, Molly is preparing to marry her beloved Juan Manuel. When the reality TV show Hidden Treasures is set to shoot at the hotel, Molly brings in a shoebox of old items to be appraised.
What Molly doesn't know is that one of those items will change her life forever. Within minutes, Molly becomes a multi-millionaire and a media sensation. That is, until her Fabergé egg is stolen right in front of her eyes and the real mystery begins. Told in multiple timelines with the help of Gran's diary, we learn more and more of Gran's past, the man she once loved, and how she ended up with the egg in the first place. I found it interesting to see how some of Gran's choices and interactions end up affecting Molly in the end.
The story is written full of wit and humour. I think what captivated my attention was the fact that we get a deeper glimpse into Gran's past, Gran was a different person than we've known her character to be. Overall in the novels, you get to watch Molly grow as a person, but I found her to truly shine in this installment. And for what it's worth, with all the drama, I'm glad that we do get a happily ever after for her and Juan Manuel.

I would like to thank Penguin Random House Canada (Adult) | Viking, Nita Prose, and NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy of The Maid's Secret in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The Maid's Secret was published on April 8th, 2025. You can order your copy today!

Molly the maid is back in the latest installment of Nita Prose's series. And she's as sweet as ever under ever-dramatic circumstances.
The Hidden Treasures antiques show is visiting the Regency Grand Hotel (think Antiques Roadshow) and Molly brings in some of Gran's items for assessment.
Enter, "the Fabergé faint" - one of Molly's items ends up being an authentic original Fabergé egg and her reaction is captured by the cameras. She and fiancée Juan Manuel become instant, if reluctant, celebrities.
But then, the egg is stolen. Meanwhile, readers are treated to more of Gran's origin story among the current-day mystery of the missing Fabergé.
It's more of what we love about the first books in the series, with even more depth of character. And a few surprises in store!
Recommended!
Thank you to @penguinrandomca for my eARC for feature.
Released on April 8.

I absolutely love Molly through all The Maid books, and I in this instalment I loved reading more about Nan and her backstory. It was sweet that Nan left a memoir for Molly to read posthumously, and I enjoyed how the author pulled everything together with the mystery of the Faberge egg! I hope I don't spoil it by saying I love a happy ending and this one clicked that box for me.

I think this was the best Molly book for me!! I actually hugged the book at the end. I loved that this book gave us much more insight into Gran’s life and how all it all connected to Molly at the end. I honestly think (at least for me) that Gran was the main character in this book rather than Molly.
If this is the last book in the series, I am happy as to how it ended. I will miss Molly and her friends and I hope there may be another book. Nita Prose is such a great storyteller and I would love to see Molly’s life with Juan and at the Regency Grand in the future.

Another Molly the Maid book, and I am here for it!!! 👏
This one follows Molly and her adventure that comes from getting the faberge egg from Grans past employers. But the history of the egg is what creates the story (and it isn’t the first time it’s been a part of her family 🧐).
I really enjoyed this one and learning more and more about Grans history. Her story sucked me in and I enjoyed how her story was told through her eyes.
Nita captured her characters and makes them so realistic that you can put yourself in the Grand Regency Hotel and be in the madness! I give this one a 4/5 ⭐️

I liked it! This was the 3rd book in the Molly the Maid series, and I might have enjoyed it the most. It was great to hear Gran’s story revealed posthumously through her journal, alternating with Molly’s chapters in real time. Good editing. And there was of course a bit of mystery too. Even though I guessed whodunnit early on in the book, it was still an enjoyable read, with a few unexpected twists.
Molly and her friends at the hotel were hilarious in their roles, and Juan Manuel was present in the story this time, although that is one character that weirdly was shown very little attention in books 2 and 3 of the series. I didn’t really mind, and preferred hearing more about Molly’s connection with Mr. Preston.
The series feels complete with this book and a happy ending for Molly.
I listened to an audio version and also read an arc of this book. The narrator in the audio version does a really great job with all the characters. A big thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced digital copy of the book.

The Maid's Secret is the final book the The Molly the Maid series. In this story, the true value of Molly’s Fabergé egg is revealed when a duo of appraisers feature Molly on their hit TV show. Molly becomes an overnight sensation and millionaire... That is, until her Fabergé egg is stolen in a mysterious heist at the Regency Grand hotel.
In this book, we learn more about Molly’s gran and her love story with Mr Preston in a series of diary entries addressed to Molly.
As always, Nita Prose brings us love, mystery and humor in The Maid's Secret, and this book is sure to capture your heart.
🙏Thank you Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for a gifted advanced electronic copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This may have been my book of the maid series. I have become soo fond of Molly more and more with each book. In the first book I couldn’t quite get behind her quirky character thinking the author just used autistic stereotypes. But after reading the Authors note at the end of this book I finally understood Molly and could get behind the character and her adventures. I really loved that the book was written in dual timeline so we got to learn more about gran growing up and the backstory of the infamous faberge egg.
Thank you to random house Canada and netgalley for an arc.

I have loved reading all of Molly the Maid's book, all 4 including the Christmas novella. Thank you #netgalley for this arc!! I really enjoyed reading Molly's and her Gran and Grandad's journey. This book had some mystery and a good ending that tied the book all together and left me as a reader happy with Molly's journey to end of this final book on the series. Each book can read be read as a standalone but I would recommend starting with Book 1 in the series, and reading them in order.

The Maid’s Secret is the third book in this series and it’s definitely not my favourite. I really enjoyed the first 2 but the plot of this one was lacking a bit for me. I didn’t love the fact that it was about a very valuable missing art piece and a heist. I found it to be a bit boring and slow. The first 2 had a great mix of humour, cozy, and murder/mystery, but this one didn’t deliver in the same way.
I’d still recommend it if you liked the other books in the series and see what you think!
Thank you Penguin Random House and Viking Books for my copy of this!

Molly is now not just Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, but also Special Events Manager, and everyone at the hotel is eager and excited about the filming of an episode of the popular reality tv show "Hidden Treasures" (like "Antiques Roadshow") at the hotel. Not only will the hosts and appraisers Baxley Brown and Thomas Beagle look at items brought in by fans and others, but hotel staff will also get a chance to have the two men review their treasures.
Molly is also excited because she and Juan Manuel will be getting married in two months, so there is much to do. In light of this, Mr. Preston gives Molly her gran's journal to read, as gran had wanted Molly to receive this only when she was emotionally ready.
On the day of filming, Molly brings in some of her treasures in a shoebox containing little things her beloved gran had. One of these items is the beautiful, decorative egg that featured in book 2. To everyone's surprise, Beagle and Brown inform Molly that the egg is priceless, and she's now a multi-millionaire.
Molly immediately becomes the focus of social media posts, much to her dismay. Eager to return to her quiet life, she agrees to Beagle and Brown auctioning off the egg as soon as possible. They all decide to have the auction at the Regency Grand, but, shockingly, the item is stolen while filming. It's an audacious theft, and Molly gradually begins noticing some odd things. She also begins reading gran's journal entries, which give Molly gran's life story, as well as reveal to Molly a connection between gran's life and the egg, which goes much beyond what Molly could have ever expected.
This was another great entry in a series I thoroughly enjoy for Molly's pluckiness, her many rhyming, pithy sayings, and the lovely friendships and romance she has found by just being herself. Molly may see the world a little differently than others, but she's smart, highly observant, and above all, kind.
Author Nita Prose not gives us an amateur sleuth story, but she also gives us a poignant and revealing history about Molly's gran. adding much depth to the woman whom we've never properly met, except through Molly's memories. Gran's life before Molly is not what I expected, and it gives us context for things gran taught Molly, but also gives us background on another character very important to Molly.
The reveals are satisfying, and the story wrap-up heartwarming, and I loved it.
Thank you to Netgalley and to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction, and to Penguin Random House Canada (Adult) for this ARC in exchange for my review.

I love Molly the maid so much, she reminds me of me so much. She is so awkward and can’t read a room either.
This one wasn’t my favorite. I wasn’t interested in the flashback parts from Grans diary as much as mollys point of view. But the mystery wasn’t that exciting to read about. I found it slow and didn’t want to pickup the book.

This is a book in a series but I have not read any before this, it was on purpose. My goal was to see if you could read the series from any point and I could.
I enjoyed this book, I found the characters memorable and fun. I thought the mystery was good and I liked the little plot twist in the end.

In THE MAID’S SECRET, Molly discovers she owns a valuable artifact left to her by her Gran. The treasure goes missing. With the help of Gran’s long lost diary Molly is determined to solve the mystery of the disappearance.
Another entertaining and heartwarming entry in the Molly the Maid series.
I loved it! ❤️
Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced digital edition of this book.

Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada (Adult) | Viking and NetGalley for this ARC!
Molly is one of my all time favorite book characters. I absolutely loved hearing more about Gran's story. I have heard this is the final book in the series and if this is true this was the perfect way to wrap the series up.
If you enjoyed the other Molly the Maid books I highly recommend picking this one up, you will not be disappointed!

This was a very different type of Molly the Maid story and it was so lovely. I loved learning Gran’s back story and the back and forth between Gran’s story and Mollys current adventure with the fabergé egg. All the characters that make the Maid series so great make a come back in this story; Juan Manuel, Mr Snow, Angela, Mr Preston and more.. I was so excited that Mollly was going to set for life but the more of Gran’’s story that got uncovered the more satisfying the outcome became. The finale with a beautiful wedding was fantastic.
Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for a copy of this book..

This was sent to me by Netgalley and the publisher, so I thank them for this. I really enjoyed this book, The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose. I had read the first book in this series, that introduces Molly. Some how I missed the 2nd book in this series.
Molly's character is very likeable and you want to route for her. Molly and Juan are planning their wedding, which will be a small affair. Molly is now the head maid and events planner , and Juan, head chef or the hotel, Regency Grand. Everyone working in the hotel are so excited when a popular TV show, Hidden Treasures, decides to do one of their shows at Regency Grand. This show invites people to bring in their treasures for appraisal. Molly has a treasure at home that belongs to her Gran. This is where the mystery unfolds. Did her Gran know what a treasure she had, and where did it come from?? More questions than answers. So read on, dear readers. You will be glad you did.
I give this book a 3.5 out of 5..

I have loved this series, and this final instalment was in my opinion a near-perfect ending. I was genuinely sad to read the last few pages. I sincerely look forward to Nita Prose’s next novel.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada (Adult) - Viking, for an ARC in exchange for a review.

I loved Molly the Maid’s final chapter The Maid’s Secret by Nita Prose. I really enjoyed Gran’s diary excerpts. It was interesting learning of her riches to rags story all in the name of love and integrity.
I always enjoy the cast of characters and the part they play in these books. Once again Nita Prose has captured the perfect mix of a whodunnit thriller and heartfelt story. Thank you for creating the quirky, loveable character Molly. Thank you to NetGalley, Penguin Canada and Nita Prose for this wonderful ARC.

charming to a certain extent but i found it to be a bit difficult to remain entertained and connected with the story, especially in the second half. something feels different with this one and i can’t quite put my finger on it.
