Molly the maid is no stranger to secrets. She sees everything behind closed doors at the Regency Grand hotel: wiping away the dust and grime of guests passing through. But one secret lies much closer to home.
An old trinket - a faux Fabergé egg - is revealed to be a precious antique during an appraisal at the hotel, making Molly a rags-to-riches sensation. But no sooner has the egg shown its value than it's stolen: vanishing without a trace. Determined to crack the case of the missing Fabergé, Molly begins dusting for clues - uncovering a mystery that stretches deep into the past. For in the pages of a long-forgotten diary, written by her late gran, lie the secrets that could unlock all others - and only Molly holds the key...

As per the other books in this series, such an enjoyable read! This one has a heavy focus on Molly’s Gran and her backstory which I loved. These books are definitely predictable but I love them so much, such cozy and comforting reads with a mix of everything! This might be my favourite in the series so far. (4 ⭐️)

The Maid's Secret is the third (and a half!) in the wonderful Molly the Maid series by Nita Prose. Molly is happily engaged to Juan Manuel and is the Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel. Molly's list of work responsibilities is long as she is in charge of hospitality and organizing. Antique and art appraising couple Brown and Beagle bring their valuation reality show, Hidden Treasures, to the hotel so Molly grabs a few trinkets of her late Gran's to get valued. Everything from her Gran was precious, especially her wisdom, advice and meaningful expressions such as, "Let sleeping dogs lie" and "be careful what you wish for", amongst others. Gran taught her everything she valued in life and she missed her terribly. But she is shocked when she is told one of her items is worth millions of pounds. She decides to sell it but on Auction Day, things go awry. Her treasure goes missing and she receives ominous messages.

Before her death, Gran wrote her beloved granddaughter copious notes about the history of Flora Gray and Gray Manor which came as a surprise to Molly. But first Molly had to first find her journal. The riches to rags and rags to riches stories are so different yet connect the women deeply. Glimpses into Gran's life was one of my favourite parts of the novel and showed their steadfast and true relationship, no matter what. The prologue is thought provoking, too, which prompted me to read it aloud. I adored the first in this series especially and found this one to be a bit of a departure of the Molly I loved, fastidious and proud. She is still lovely but her earlier naivety won me over.

All in all, this was an enjoyable light read but not quite as impactful as the first two and novella. Still, I will gladly read anything Nita Prose writes as her writing is gorgeous!

4.5 STARS - Molly the Maid is back for a final installment of the popular mystery series!

Molly's life has changed - she's been promoted to Head Maid at the Regency Grand Hotel, and she's engaged to the love of her life Juan Manuel! When a popular Antiques Roadshow-esque TV show comes to the hotel, Molly brings a box of her Gran's bits and bobs and learns that her Gran's decorative egg is actually a Fabergé egg worth millions. When the egg is stolen, Molly has a new mystery on her hands.

The story includes dual timelines - one focusing on the modern day missing huevo mystery and the other is a journey back in time to learn more about Molly's beloved Gran's early life. Through excerpts from Flora Gray's diary and her personal letters, readers (and Molly) get to know Gran as a young girl and see how her family secrets and difficult past made her into the beloved force in Molly's life.

The Maid's Secret is a charming finale to this much-loved mystery series that has a truly memorable cast. It's a wonderful mix of mystery, history, heart and wit that blends long-buried secrets, unexpected treasure and family lore that will leave readers glad they've met Molly, Juan and the Regency Grand's quirky crew.

Molly the maid just keeps getting better and better!
In The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose, Molly's storyline takes off on two different tangents - the chaos she experiences upon finding the worth of the gilded egg that's been sitting on her shelf, and her family history as revealed by a series of letters to her, written by her Gran from her death bed.
The mystery of who stole the egg is an intriguing one, surrounded and supported by the back and forth between time periods, making for a gripping, page-turner of a book.
Prose once again has a well-written story that is sure to cement her place as one of the most popular authors in her genre.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the chance to review this book. All opinions are my own.
Molly the Maid’s life is never dull, although I am sure she wished it was. The author has threaded this latest adventure that would make you think this was based on real life. I keep wanting to pen more, but I am afraid to leave spoilers. This was my favourite of the series so far.
;) Okay, one spoiler: I needed a few tissues by the ending. Please tell me there will be a TV series coming! :)

The Maid’s Secret by Rachel Brimble is an engaging historical mystery about Emily, a maid who uncovers shocking secrets about her employer’s family. As she unravels the mystery, she faces danger and betrayal. Brimble’s writing is captivating, with a well-paced plot and strong character development. The novel blends suspense with emotional depth, exploring themes of class and loyalty. Overall, it’s a compelling read for fans of historical fiction and mystery.

Molly the maid is back in this 4.5 star new novel by Nita Prose. Instead of solving a mystery, readers get to find out, alongside Molly, Gran's story. And what a story it is! Witty and full of Molly-ism, we finally get to Molly and Juan's wedding day. But before that happens, it turns out the egg is worth so much more than Molly might have imagined .. and of course it dissapears. New characters are introduced and familiar favourites are back to help find this egg that means so much to Molly. Really enjoyed this latest installment of the staff of the Regency Grand Hotel.

Another enjoyable tale within this cozy, comforting series - i compare The Maid series to a nice warm hug, or a mug of hot cocoa. I enjoyed learning more about Gran's past. I fell more in love with all the quirky, charming characters. It is an easy read that is a great escape from this crazy world we live in. I am wondering if there will be another book in the series? I think there should be! I certainly hope so! I can't wait to see what possible hijinx Juan and Molly find themselves in next!

I have not read the previous books in this series, but added them to my TBR as Molly is lovely. It is nice to read something where there are no hidden motives from the main character, she is just always herself no matter what she is going through.

Maybe it is not having the backstory on her gran, but the diary pieces of her gran growing up felt a bit much, taking over from the investigation into the theft of the egg and the millions that could set Molly and Juan up for life. It fits with Molly's story of all that glitters is not gold but it got a little bogged down in the details there versus the more modern timeline and I found it distracting at times.

Still a great read and it picks up about half way through and the flashbacks do tie into the story later. I don't want to spoil the ending but it ties it up where there could be more Maid books or it would be a fitting end to the series.

🗝️ T R I C K Y T U E S D A Y review 🗝️ featuring “The Maid’s Secret” by Nita Prose!

MY RATING: 🖤🖤🖤🖤/5

Molly the Maid is back again in Book 3 of the series! This time Molly finds herself in the middle of an art heist at the Regency Grand Hotel and facing threats against her life!

A hit reality tv series called Hidden Treasures is shooting at the hotel and they are looking for art to appraise. Molly brings in an old shoe box of her Gran’s nic nacs and little does she know that she has been sitting on a fortune! The appraisers cannot believe their eyes when they see such a rare treasure that is one of a kind!

In the blink of an eye Molly becomes a multi millionaire and media darling… until the precious piece suddenly goes missing!! The hunt is on to find it and with the help of her loved ones, the whodunnit begins!

Also in the shoebox is an old key that Molly finds out unlocks a diary belonging to her Gran. Inside is her Gran’s life story from riches to rags, being used by her parents for financial gain and losing the love of her life. Slowly the pieces all begin to fit together for Molly as she learns about the past and what it means for her future!

This series is truly CHARMING and I think this may be my favourite book in the series! I loved reading Gran’s diary entries and diving into her mysterious past life. As readers we discover her secrets for the first time just as Molly does 🔐!

I am a devoted fan of Molly Gray and enjoy reading the shenanigans she finds herself in at the Regency Grand . Through the storyline, character development, witty charm and banter Nita Prose once again creates an engaging and pleasurable read for her audience. Learning about Gran’s backstory and how the other books all tie into this one is entertaining to say the least. I loved learning more about Gran and how she became the woman she is today. Nita Prose was able to make me feel for Gran and John in so many ways. I am thoroughly pleased with how Prose was able to end the Molly maid series. As sadden as I am, the joyful ending was very well received. Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the Arc.

I was delighted when I received the ARC for the next installment of The Maid series by Nita Prose, The Maid's Secret. This is the 3rd book in the series. Molly has been promoted to Head Maid and Special Events Manager at the Regency Grand Hotel and she is planning her wedding to her pastry chef fiancé, Juan Manuel. The hotel is chosen to host a very popular antiques reality show, Hidden Treasures. Molly is a big fan of the show and the staff are asked to bring items to be appraised. She has a few treasures from her Gran including the 'golden huevo' that Juan convinces her to bring, though she thinks it is not worth any value. However, the golden egg turns out to be an original Fabergé egg worth millions! Molly the Maid is thrust into the spotlight and as she is starting to wrap her head around her unexpected windfall, the egg is stolen, and the hotel becomes the center of a police investigation.

The novel switches between Molly’s present-day experiences and her Gran’s journal entries, offering a glimpse into Gran’s privileged upbringing and the dramatic shift in her life when she became a (poor) maid. I found Gran’s story deeply engaging and loved how seamlessly it intertwined with Molly’s own journey.

The cozy mystery element was definitely 'cozier' this time around; no murder but the theft of that valuable egg. I wouldn't call it suspenseful but a wholesome whodunit. The way Nita Prose writes the character Molly still has me hooked and the quirky side characters add so much charm to the story. I really feel like this book wraps up Molly’s journey perfectly. I’m hoping the author starts a new series next!

Thank you to NetGalley the ARC.

Here we are with the third and final book in the <i>Molly the maid<i> series. I was so excited to get to read it in advanced and.... I was left confused. Unlike the previous book, this time, we get a dual timeline. The chapters alternate between Molly's present life and her grandma's life as a teen. The thing is teen Flora is not at all the same character whom we are used to at this point in the series. The dual POV also means that it takes longer to actually get to the mystery part of the book. It is why I struggled with the first third of the book.

Now, to mixed thing up, there are no murder in this one. This time, we are solving an art heist. That part was really fun, and the end made me tear up a little. The thing that I liked the most is that Molly was true to character no matter what happened in her life. And a special mention to Juan Manuel and M. Preston. They are really dreamy men.

Overall, for me this was a 3.5 star but I did round it up the 4 because it was a great conclusion to this series.

I've enjoyed all of the Molly the Maid books, so when I was accepted to read an ARC of the latest -- and likely final -- story in Molly's journey from maid to newfound celebrity, I was so excited to crack in.

The same cast of characters, from the darling Juan to the pesky mean girl Cheryl, make their appearance in this book. The basic plot is that a local Antiques Roadshow-like television show is being filmed at the Regency, and Molly submits a few of her own belongings gifted to her by her recently deceased Gran (RIP) for appraisal. When one of them is appraised for millions, Molly is suddenly thrust into the spotlight. "I'm just the maid," she insists, while she and Juan are busy planning their small wedding. But in classic Molly the Maid luck, the item goes missing and now it's a mystery to solve who made off with the treasure.

But that's only half the story, because the other half of this book takes place when Gran was a young woman, and through the use of diary entries written by Gran as well as letters directly addressed to Molly, the relationships of not only Molly but Gran herself take center stage in this last book in the trilogy.

I did start to figure out the answer to the mystery before the characters did, so that was really my only disappointment compared to the other books in the series.

I love these books because they are charming, cozy, and easy to read. Nita Prose has a great voice that she uses for Molly's internal voice, and it's been a treat seeing the character of Molly come out of her shell through the series. This book does feel "final" as it ties up a lot of loose ends, even the rivalry between Molly and Cheryl. The book explores all kinds of love, from familial, friendship, and romantic, and while I hope we maybe get to see more of Molly down the road, as a bookend it is just perfect.

The third in the series, this book was a delight to read and enjoy spending time with Molly once again.
Now write a 4th, 5th, etc. as I want to read them all

I absolutely loved the first two Maid books in this series. Loved them. So when I was offered The Maid's Secret to review from the publisher, I jumped at the chance. However, I have said it before and I'll say it again here, it's hard to keep a series going and this is an example of maybe it's time to wind down.
I listened to the Mistletoe Mystery and I'm not going to say anything about it, except that I thought this book would be more reminiscent of the first two in this series.
In this installation, we find newly engaged Molly and Juan planning their wedding. The hotel is hosting the Two Bees, who are a married couple of antiques appraisers. The staff are invited to bring some items in to be appraised before it's opened up to the adoring public. Molly brings a box of some trinkets in, including the egg she and her gran used to call the Faberge, only it turns out to be the real deal and Molly will be a millionaire.
The egg is auctioned off for millions and then... it disappears!
Now, here's where an interesting plot could have formed. Where did it go? Who took it? Why?
Instead, we get, sandwiched between Molly's hunt for the egg, a detailed backstory of her gran. The problem is (it's not interesting). I almost feel bad saying this because gran has been such a loveable character. But I couldn't care less about her backstory. Not one iota. So I found myself stuck in this interesting and moving-forward current story of where is the egg and then I would get dragged back into the boring and far too detailed past.
When we get to solution, it makes sense and it's a good resolution, Prose's writing is stellar, but I think by the Mistletoe novella and this one, the series might need to be retired.

Molly's is getting married to her beloved Juan (yay!) but to her great chagrin she finds herself the focus of a viral media sensation. While navigating her unwanted time in the limelight, the secrets of her Gran's past comes to light. Gran's story of love and loss straight from her diary are a true highlight of this book. Much to her dismay at times, Molly finds the true meaning of "all that glitters is not gold" as her Gran taught her. There are treasures with a monetary value (like a jewel-crusted Faberge Egg), and then there are real treasures that cannot be quantified (like the love and respect of those you hold close to your heart). For me, The Maid's Secret is a heartwarming, satisfying finale for the wonderfully quirky and ever-charming Molly the Maid.

Thanks @netgalley and @penguinrandomca for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love the characters in this series, and I was glad to find out even more about them in the latest book. The book does start off a little bit slower than her last one, but with some interesting information shared about the background of the grandmother. I think the pacing picks up a bit about halfway through, but I still found this book a hard one to put down even though it wasn’t super fast-paced. I did figure out how things were going to end largely, but with one little twist that I did not expect. This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. Definitely worth checking out when this book is released at the beginning of
