I just could not get into this book and ended up not finishing it. I appreciate the opportunity for the ARC.

Oh, how excited I am to be immersed again in the world of Molly the Maid. Molly is one of the most charming, engaging protagonists I've ever met. I desperately needed to catch up with her and her adventures. Thankfully, Nita Prose has graced us with another Molly the Maid novel, which is slightly different from the first two; in this third novel, we get to know Molly's Gran Flora more intimately through Gran's journals. Gran's journal is a series of letters to her granddaughter charting her life as a young girl and ending with her on her deathbed. The reader quickly learns that Gran's life is nothing like we suspected. Growing up in a family of wealth, Gran/Flora wanted for nought, but with this wealth came social obligations that Flora fought against. Flora was a bit of a rebel; she wanted to go to university instead of finishing school, choose her love (gasp!), and not be obliged to marry someone her parents deemed suitable.
Gran's diary holds not only the purpose of telling her granddaughter about her family history but also clues to the mysterious Faberge egg of Gran's that just so happens to be in Molly's possession. An egg that, for most of her life, Molly perceived as a mere trinket of no worth, but with the surprise appraisal from thMollly'srown and Beagle" (an Antiques Roadshow-esque event scheduled at the Regency Grand), she discovers that it is worth millions and she is thrust into the spotlight.
Just like the previous two books, this one is also a mystery—one that involves a great heist, the theft of the Faberge Egg! Molly and our friends Juan, Mr. Preston, and Angela, to name a few(because they really are our friends by now), all play a crucial role in solving the case. Their unique skills and perspectives add depth to the story, making the audience feel like they are part of the team. And with all this sleuthing, Molly has to plan her wedding!
Nita Prose has a unique way of weaving the past and the present in a way that is engaging and easy to follow, with absolutely no errors in continuity. The book is written in alternating chapters of Gran/Flora's journal and the present-day Molly adventure. This narrative structure adds depth to the characters and keeps the reader engaged. One could easily just read Flora's chapters as a book in itself.
Although my favourite chapters were those with Molly and the gang attempting to solve a crime, I did enjoy being immersed in Gran's world and getting a fuller understanding of her backstory and what made her such a remarkable mentor for Molly.
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Random House for the Copy!

Thank you Netgalley for the E-ARC of The maids secret by Nita Prose!

I was so excited to be accepted to receive this book before the publication, I really enjoy this series. This is the third book (but fourth if including the Christmas novella)

I really enjoyed the mystery story along with this one, I kept trying to figure out who did it! Haha. I liked how there was chapters from her Gran, getting to know her up bringing, I’m not going to lie though at times during the Grans chapters I was bored, I enjoyed the current situations (Mollys chapters) way more.

I hope there is more to this series, I would find it really interesting if there was more about Mollys mom

Most definitely will be continuing this series ! 3.5 out of 5! :)

The world needs Molly and Gran. This heartwarming story is full of secrets, mystery, crime, humour, romance, and hidden treasures! Molly discovers, through Gran's Diary, that Gran's wisdom has come from the many challenges she has faced and the links between past and present keep Gran connected to Molly forever. I am secretly hoping that we will see more of Molly in the future! These books have a special place on my favourites shelf!
Thank you @nitaprose and

*The Maid's Secret* is Nita Prose's third novel in *The Maid* series, and I’ve enjoyed every book so far. Like the previous novels, this story unfolds across two timelines. The past focuses on Gran—her education and love interests as a young woman—while the present follows Molly as she discovers that one of Gran’s heirlooms is a rare and valuable piece.

At first, I struggled to get into Gran’s story. I wasn’t as engaged and found myself more eager to follow Molly’s journey and the mystery surrounding the Fabergé. However, about halfway through, Gran’s story became just as compelling, and I grew equally invested in both timelines.

Prose expertly weaves the two narratives together, creating a seamless connection between past and present. As always, she crafts characters that are easy to love. This installment in *The Maid* series was excellent—I loved the highs and lows of both storylines, and the ending was so sweet. I truly hope Prose continues writing more books with these characters!

*** Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Canada for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was much more emotional and character driven than the previous instalments. I wish I had known going into this that it would be constantly pulling at my heart strings, and that it would be the story of Gran. I went into this with the wrong expectations, hoping for a cute and sweet mystery, but it was almost more of a historical fiction. It makes sense for the characters that we would get this story, but based on the plot synopsis I didn’t expect this result. It was slow moving, but the end had me crying.

I managed to guess the mystery plot, even though it felt like Molly wasn’t even investigating this time. It felt like she had very little agency, and was just tousled about without control over her life.

Nita Prose’s Series just got better with her new book The Maid’s Secret. The characters were more developed since there is now a back story to Molly the Maid. We learn about her grandmother Flora through intertwined messages from her diary. These are beautiful and heartfelt messages about what really matters in life and that love can never be stolen.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This review will be a mediocre one from me, thank you to #netgalley for granting me an ARC for an honest review.
While I was thankful for the refresh at the beginning of this novel the remainder of the novel was so so for me, I honestly struggled my way through the story. It was good, however, to have a conclusion to this story.

I’ve loved the whole series, enjoyed to finally learn about Molly’s grandmother’s back story. As well as how everyone connected in the past / present. One question — the small bit with her mother….will there be more to come ?

‘Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. There’s no time like the present.’*
I don’t very often take a note or a quote from books I read, but every single Maid book ended up having a quote to note. I love how these sayings of Molly’s gran often are cheesy but very true. All in all I’m sad that it seems like this was the last Maid book and hence the conclusion to the series. I loved the characters again! This time the book featured a dual timeline - one in the present and one in the past telling Molly’s gran’s story. In the centre of all of it there stands a priceless Faberge egg and I loved the mystery around it.
I will miss the characters of this series. Molly is different but such a great character. It takes a while to understand her but once the reader does she really warms one’s heart and she will stay one of my favourites forever. Juan Manuel is Molly’s fiancé and plays a quite significant role in the book again. I love how unconditionally he loves Molly. He is a good egg, as Molly‘s gran would say. And she plays such a significant part in this book. I loved how we learns where she comes from, how her life shaped her as a person and Molly as well. Mr. Preston is a grandfather type and always kind and friendly to Molly. I really liked him as a character.
All in all, If you love quirky and loveable characters, you must read The Maid series!

*quote was included in the eARC - I must mention that I do not know if the same passage made it into the final book. I chose it as an example for how Molly’s gran speaks

2.5 stars

A disappointing conclusion to this series.

I will start off by saying that I really enjoyed books 1 and 2 in this series. Molly was a unique and unforgettable character who grabbed my heart in those first two books. Unfortunately, in this book, she took on a more cutesy and cheesy tone causing me to lose my connection completely. I didn’t find myself invested in the mystery at all.

Gran’s words of wisdom that would whisper in Molly’s ear in the first two books (my favourite parts), were instead, letters from Gran to Molly that showed a side of Gran’s character that didn’t make sense to me. I found the letters unrealistic and forced. Perhaps a timeline change would have been better? I don’t see how someone would include so many quotes and exact situational circumstances in their letters. This didn’t ring true for me. These letters are what pushed the plot forward so I had no connection or investment.

Overall, I’m 2 out of 4 for this series. There are plenty of favourable reviews for this book, so please make sure to check those out before deciding on this.

Thank you to the publisher for my review copy! This comes out on April 8th, so grab a copy and see for yourself.

The Maid’s Secret is the latest instalment in the mystery series by Nita Prose featuring Molly the Maid. Molly is at the heart of the mystery as always, and this time her life is turned upside down while she’s trying to plan her wedding to the love of her life, Juan Manuel. Molly is quite a unique and likeable character, and I love seeing how much she’s grown since we met her in the first book. Navigating the world and social situations isn’t always easy for Molly, but she’s really figuring things out and has a wonderful support system around her.

Part of this story takes place in the past, through diary entries written to Molly by her beloved late grandmother. I enjoyed learning about Gran’s life, from her privileged childhood to her relationship with Molly’s grandfather. While I think her story would make an interesting book in its own right, it definitely changed the tone and took the focus away from the main mystery.

It was fun to revisit Molly and the rest of the characters at the Regency Grand, and while this didn’t quite have the same ‘whodunnit’ mystery feel of the first couple of books in this series, I still had fun delving into this light-hearted, cozy mystery. I found the conclusion pretty satisfying, and if this is the end of the series it serves as a perfect finale; however, I would happily read another Molly the Maid mystery if Prose chooses to write one!

Thank you to Penguin Random House Canada and Netgalley for an egalley of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this one but not as much as The Maid or The Mystery Guest. This one was more Gran’s story over a mystery. I missed the mystery aspect. The small mystery part was easy to figure out. I still love Molly and all her “quirks” although Mollys idiosyncrasies got a little repetitive in now the 3rd full book of the series. Grans story was interesting but her childhood/teens were described like she was living in regency times as opposed to the 1950’s. It seems like this is the last Molly instalment we’ll get and the story was wrapped up nicely with a satisfactory ending. Perfect for those who’ve enjoyed the other Molly books.

What a wonderful end to the Molly the Maid Trilogy. The Maid’s Secret wraps up Molly’s story so perfectly. The history of Gran and John is the backdrop of this book, and it is told through Gran’s own words via her diary.

Molly and her now fiance, Juan, take a box of treasures to be evaluated on a popular tv show called “Hidden Treasures”. One of the treasures tuns out to be an extremely valuable Faberge egg that Gran had received decades ago. The evaluation is life-changing for Molly, but before Molly can even think about those changes, the egg is stolen. Molly & Juan must figure out who stole the egg and why. What Molly knows for sure is that the clue is in Gran’s diary.

This is a funny, sweet and wonderful book. The history and mystery of the egg add to the entire picture of just who Molly is and how she came to be a most beloved character.

If you enjoyed the adventures of Molly the Maid in Nita Prose's previous books, then get your hands on the third book of the series, The Maid's Secret . In this book we get a lot more backstory with Molly's Gran and Grandad and of course a new mystery to be solved. I have to say this isn't my favourite of the series but it was a good, lighthearted read. I found the ending dragged on a bit too long for my liking but I really enjoyed the chapters from Gran's POV

3.5 stars rounded down.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Nita Prose returns with another of her signature cozy mystery, The dual storyline between Molly's present and her granny's past added a new element to the book. The Faberege egg also is a full- circle moment tying past books together.

This is a very light story. Maybe time to retire the maid. We know her grandmothers story and the egg story.

This is the 4 the book in the Molly the Maid series. Molly and Juan are finally going to get married. Before that happens they need to decide where it will be and how many guests to have.
They are also continuing their work at the Grand Regency Hotel. They are going to be hosting the hit tv show Hidden Treasures. The staff has been given an opportunity to bring in some items of their own before the show starts. Molly brings in several of her treasures and one of them is a big hit.. that is when things change for Molly. The hosts of Hidden Treasures want to auction it off themselves on live tv. After much debate Molly agrees but things don’t run smoothly. Molly gets to know her fellow staff members better and finally some of the mysteries in her life get revealed.
Great book, all the regular characters return and there are a few new ones.

THE MAID’S SECRET
NITA PROSE
ON SALE APRIL 8/25

Nita Prose has done it again, given us another mystery featuring quirky, Molly the Maid, whom we have all fallen in love with in the first three books.

This time a tv show, HIDDEN TREASURES, has come to the Regency Hotel and Molly, and soon to be hubby, Juan, decide to take a few items from Gran’s curio cabinet to see if they are worth more than sentimental value. Imagine the surprise when one item is valued in the millions!

Molly, who is definitely not used to being in the limelight, has to try to live her “normal” life during all the chaos that ensues. And of course in the end, Molly is the one who saves the day!

Thank you Nita for this fourth instalment of the Molly the Maid series. I guess all we can do now is wait for Florence Pugh to hit the big screen as Molly. I hope she can do her justice!

I received a free copy of The Maids Secret from NetGalley and all opinions are my own. I loved this newest instalment in the series. I love books with quirky characters and Nina delivers that in this series. I enjoyed the dual timelines and learning more about beloved grans past. I love when all books in a series capture my attention and are a great read , for me Nita Prose has done this with all 3 books and a novella letting us fall in love with the characters and learning more in each new book. I suggest you read the books in order to really appreciate all things Molly and the rest of the cast.
