I was excited to read a mystery set in the Appalachians, but I was a little disappointed with this one because the place and people didn’t seem distinctly Appalachian. Otherwise, it was an average book form of a soap opera mystery/light romance.

Murder in the Appalachians is a fast paced edge of your seat romantic suspense. I throughly enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading more books by this author who is new to me.

Being an Appalachian, I was excited to be allowed to read this book. I was not disappointed. This book was fast-paced from the first page, with twists and turns from every angle. The heroine is dead set on finding out what happened to her brother in a small town. Upon arrival, she made some friends and had quite some adventures. I loved the characters and their friendships. The romance side of the book was cute and did not overwhelm the thriller side of the story.

Murder in the Appalachians, by Susan Furlong, started out with an adrenaline rush and just kept going. As an investigative journalist, Emma is intent on discovering the truth behind her brother’s death. In the process, secrets within the community are exposed and Emma’s life is threatened. There are many twists and turns as Logan, a local ER doctor, joins forces with Emma to unravel the truth. This book also deals with the loss of loved ones and the difficulty of moving forward in life. I was engrossed from start to finish and recommend it to anyone interested in romantic suspense with some realistic life lessons included.

This little book started out with a big bang and kept going! Exactly what I liked about this one.
Such a gorgeous cover too. Love love.
Lots of twists and turns some I pretty much figured out early on.
I still read on to see if I was correct and yes some of it I was.
Logan and Emma well I liked them instantly.
Emma sure is a stubborn girl and she is dedicated to finding her brother's killer. I thought that was awesome and courageous.
There's just certain things however that you just can't control in life as Logan is learning along the way.
I almost felt sorry for him.
This is where Faith and Love Comes into play along with Trust in order to get the job done right.
A story that I couldn't put down until finished. I just finished it.
A new to me author that I'll be looking for in the future. I really enjoyed this short story.
5 stars from me for the excellent writing and for keeping me engaged. I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
