That was a super easy read, and I didn't see any of the twists coming. I'm a sucker for a book about a toxic marriage!

I received a complementary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the author and the publisher.
This one pulled me in right from the first page. It was full of some really great twists and the fast pace kept me reading well in to the night. I couldn't believe what I was reading after about the halfway point. A really great read, one that I didn't even try to guess what was going to happen at the end and just enjoyed the ride!

At no point did I find myself bored, not wanting to pick the book up or doing any eye rolls ha
I loved this book!! The marriage between Dinah & Joe is weird to say the least & it just gets weirderrrr. At first she seems normal but no, and I’m SO here for it!! So many things to discover while reading this, it’s excellent & the twists totally caught me off guard. A couple things I guessed or had a feeling but the level of fu%k€ry in this is amazing 🤩 I feel like if you say you guessed the ending you’re lying😂😂 I really have no complaints here. Awesome storyline, totally disturbing, never lost its pace & I could NOT put it down! 🖤
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Thomas & Mercer for the ARC!

I’ve only read one other book from this author and it was the good lie. I LOVED it and I was hoping this book was going to be as good. This book was kind of all over the place.
Dinah is a police officer who gets called in on a woman who’s dead and discovered by the mailman. The woman’s daughter is missing but when she ends up at a mental hospital saying she’s killed her mother and tried to kill herself, things start getting strange around the hospital. Dr. “Joe” has secrets of his own and things will come to light soon enough.
Thanks netgalley and publisher for a chance to read this for free in return for my honest opinion.

A.R. Torre always has thrillers that are a good time. They fly by and are so easy to get through. If you need a nice beach read this summer, I would highly recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for my early e-arc copy.

I'm a big fan of this author's books but it wasn't my favorite. I was confused at first with following the characters. When I got into it more I understood better. The main character was so unlikable that I was actually rooting against her the whole time! I did the the story twist. I didn't expect it or see it coming at all. The ending was a nice conclusion, but I wanted a stand off lol. Thanks to Netgalley & the publishers for my ARC.

I was so excited to be approved for an early copy of A Happy Marriage—but life got in the way, and I had to set it aside for a bit. Once I picked it back up, though, I was completely hooked! The short chapters made it impossible to stop reading (“just one more” turned into five), and I loved the multiple POVs. When we finally got to hear the husband's perspective, the tension and intrigue really ramped up.
A.R. Torre always delivers fast-paced, addictive thrillers, and this one was no different. While the ending didn’t hit quite as hard as some of her other books, I still really enjoyed it. A fun, twisty read that kept me turning pages late into the night!

Wow this was a true page turner. I was picking up my phone every chance I had just to sneak in a quick chapter. The relationship between the two main characters is the craziest psychological mess you could ever imagine. The craziness pouring out of these pages was addicting. I could not put this book down. I would have liked more on Dinah’s work “issue”. Her old partner, the work issue and the patients really could have used a little more closure or more in depth connections. Overall an excellent read.

A.R. Torre is an auto-read author for me so I was chuffed to receive an ARC of this one but I came away feeling a bit underwhelmed.
I struggled to get into the story & didn’t feel particularly invested in any of the characters. There were quite a few introduced early on which became a bit confusing, I kept having to flick back to remind myself who was who. The pacing felt rushed with no room for character development & certain plot points felt either unfinished or underexplained.
But like I said I’ll always pick up whatever A.R. Torre writes so I’m looking forward to what’s next!
★★½ ROUNDED UP ⬆️⭐️

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. This one makes you dive right in, but after halfway, not so much. An interesting dometic thriller. It was hard to believe that real life would be like that, but giving four stars because, well this is fiction.

A.R. Torre is an auto buy author for me. I love her writing style and how she keeps me engaged from start to finish. This book was wild and I mean it in the best way!! Highly recommend adding it to your TBR.

This was dark, twisted and captivating. I love a book about a toxic marriage. Parts of this were shocking and I did not see the twists coming. Loved it!

Thank you NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer, and A.R. Torre for the Advanced Reader Copy!
A.R. Torre really hit it out of the park with A Happy Marriage! Let me tell you this was jaw dropping good! Every turn of the page had me asking more and more questions. So many twist and turns, questioning what did I just read? A Happy Marriage is definitely on of the best twisted books I have ever read! It's well written with some of the most depraved minds I have ever read about! I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeves!

This book didn't click for me. I should have put it down when I got bored around 100 pages. I stuck it out and was pleasantly surprised by a few of the twists and turns. Some had my jaw on the floor, others were predictable.

Well, this is another wild ride from A.R. Torre. This one has a lot of psychological twists in it. I especially like the ending.
NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer publishing, thank you for this advanced copy of A Happy Marriage. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Los Angeles homicide detective Dinah Marino is married to Joe, a psychologist currently researching the power of suggestion and influence. Needless to say, there are secrets and lies which could destroy their perfect marriage if revealed.
This is one of those books that it's best to go into without knowing too much ahead of time. If anything, I think the blurb may just confuse you. Much as I enjoyed reading the book, I have mixed feelings about it. It's entertaining and a pretty fast read (gotta love those short snappy chapters) and I always have fun with this author's books so I'm giving it 4 stars but I totally understand why some readers would rate it lower. It's pretty unhinged and unrealistic but still .... it's A.R. Torre!
Thank you to Thomas & Mercer, via Netgalley, for providing a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

What did I just read? And not like in a wow, I am still digesting way. In a wow, I really didn't like that way. This book made no sense to me. I felt like we started when it was halfway over. What exactly are these two up to? Are we supposed to know? And they are just two psychos that happened to find each other?
So let me get this straight. Joe is a "doctor." Dinah is a detective. But both are nuts. Yet don't communicate with each other at all. But they have a great relationship. They don't have sex. But they are passionate. They don't know anything about this missing girl. But they do. What was the point of the third sister? I didn't get that part at ALL. One line said something smelled like "cocaine to my nose." Ugh. Really did not like it. The ending was bad too.

This was so twisted! Such a good popcorn thriller with unreliable characters, deceit, and unhinged things happening.
Honestly it was so over the top, but that’s part of what made it such a good popcorn thriller. The multiple POVs really worked to uncover everything that was happening. Joe and Dinah are made for each other…in the worst way.
At under 300 pages, you’ll fly through this book, absolutely needing to know what will happen next.
Thank you Thomas & Mercer (Amazon Publishing) and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one SUCKED ME IN quickly!! I read the first half in a few hours but then…it really slowed down for me. I have to say it definitely was a twisty ride. ..and these characters were unhinged! Like what the heck?!? I was satisfied with the ending because…yikes!!!! People needed to pay!

As with all A.R. Torre books I could not put this book down! It kept me engaged and I needed to read it in one sitting. Torre has become one of my favorite authors .
A Happy Marriage by A. R. Torre is a fast paced domestic thriller that grabs you from the start.
Torre skillfully crafts a suspenseful narrative that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
