I really loved the concept of this one! If you think finding love is hard, try finding love for psychopaths! This one is filled with dark humor and twists where matchmaking meets murder!

It takes a skilled storyteller to be able to blend a romantic comedy with horror to create an incredibly engaging story full of complex characters and an intricate plot that totally flips the script on conventional storytelling. Definitely my favorite of Tasha Coryell's books yet!

Alexandra works for a small, woman-owned matchmaking company, and her area of specialty is with clients who fall somewhere along the psychopathy scale. Her clients aren't the murdery-type of psychopaths, though, that we might all think of. At least she doesn't think so. They actually tend to be quite successful individuals, who are just as deserving as love as the next person.
But what happens when the matchmaker is barely holding her own love-life together?
Alexandra thought she had found love for herself, but boy, was she wrong. A fact she discovered on her birthday, when her boyfriend, Noah, and best friend, Molly, revealed that they were now an item, leaving Alex out in the cold. Alex has suddenly lost the two people she was closest too in the world, but as the old adage goes, there are more fish in the sea, both in the romance sea and the friendship sea.
Alex soon has a potential love interest, as well as a potential new best friend, but instead of stabilizing things for her, circumstances continue to spiral after her ex disappears, and she fears he's been murdered on her behalf.
Much like Coryell's previous novel, Love Letters to a Serial Killer, this story succeeds in pushing boundaries, and potentially Readers outside their comfort zones. It's a fun and edgy blend of Romance, Mystery and Horror, all rolled into one tidy little package. I enjoyed getting to know our MC, Alexandra. She certainly contains multitudes.
As the story unfolds, it's hard not to try to figure out what is actually going on, but Coryell reveals things in such a way, that I found it close to impossible to guess. Sure, I had various theories throughout, but I was never confident, because there were so many darkly-delicious possibilities. I found the concept of Alexandra's job super interesting, and it was fun reading about various situations occurring in her workplace. Additionally, Alex has a fascinating history that definitely added its own level of intrigue to the story.
Overall, this out of the box, genre-blending, Romantic Suspense story, full of murder and mayhem, definitely kept me on my toes. I loved trying to guess what was actually going on. The characters were intriguing, and the plot, just wacky enough to deliver pure entertainment!
Thank you to the publisher, Berkley, for providing me with a copy to read and review. I'm looking forward to picking up more from Tasha Coryell!!

Unfortunately, not my favorite. Very quirky, if you're into that haha.
I do think the author did a great job with balancing the genre bending between romance and horror! The story just wasn't my vibe. I do know that a lot of people will enjoy this one though.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review!
I AM QUEASYYYYY!!! "Previously, I thought the greatest act of love was killing for a partner. In this moment, I realized the true greatest act of love was taking care of the cleanup after the murder was done."
This book was sooo good but it's the kind of book that gives you a perpetual pit in your stomach from start to end. This is only my second Tasha Coryell book and yet she already holds a special place in my mind for authors who write such interesting narrators, like man oh man are they twisted with infinite delusions? Yes, but yet I'm almost rooting for them which then makes me feel sick! I did figure out the twist/mystery but still oh my gosh my heart was RACINGGGG. You hate to see these characters come out the other side unscathed but somehow I'm glad they prevailed? Also the dark humor in here was insane, I definitely shouldn't have been laughing so much through this book.
This is the kind of book that sticks with you and makes you reevaluate everything you know about relationships, friendships, and family. Someone described it as "a poisoned love letter to romance and murder" and that really sums it up! I will be eagerly awaiting her next sick and twisted book and yes I will eat that one up too.

This was boring for the first 80% but the last 20% was so chaotic and unorganized. Sure there was a twist but this story was so random, I didn’t even care.

I enjoyed this book soo much! The characters, the storyline, and the plot kept me entertained throughout! Thus is my second read from Coryell and she did not disappoint.

This was an interesting take on matchmaking. After watching Materialists it reminded me a lot of that. However, the FMC felt so cynical to me… that I just wasn’t vibing with her. I found her ironic bc of the title of the book haha. Overall, I stopped caring about her around 35% into the book. The beginning of the book was exciting because it felt so new and she almost felt like a victim? But eventually we can see she’s not.

This was insaneeeeee! I loved it!
I had a little bit of everything! Mystery, dark romance, murder. I loved how completely unhinged it was. Everyone was a psychopath!
It was a crazy story with lots of twists and turns and you cannot trust anybody!
I did think the end was a bit rushed, but this was a great read!

Initially, I grabbed this one because I was obsessed with the cover. This story was honestly so unexpectedly unique and fun to read. Just when you think you’ve figured out where the story was going, Coryell adds another layer of mystery, dark humour, unconventional romance, and body parts. I’d suggest going in blind for the unhinged ride.

This book was FUN!!
I love a good matchmaking trope and as a thriller lover, I LOVED the marrying of a good stabby murder vibe with love.
Sure, Matchmaking for Psychopaths may sound like a a bit unique, or macabre, or unorthodox business plan. But, there truly is someone for everyone, even those who are a bit …. Murdery!
I loved the layering of characters and their personal interests that show even the sweetest person may have their own agendas. Some are just better at follow through!
This quirky romance had all the things I loved including witty banter, charm and cheek, tension and tenderness. And, dead bodies. Like a good heaping pile of them!

This book is crazy but in such a good way! As soon as I read the description I was intrigued, and I knew I wanted to read this book. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. I'm so thankful to have received an ARC of this book. Thank you so much NetGalley, Berkley Publishing Group, and Tasha Coryell. Matchmaking for Psychopaths hooked me from the very first chapter all the way until the last chapter. It has so many twists and turns that I didn't even a little bit see coming that had me so shocked towards the end of the book when everything was revealed. This book is a thriller romance with morally grey characters that is funny at times while also having moments that are creepy and leave you on the edge of your seats. The book also has many reality tv show references that although I might have not seen were still an interesting part of the plot. This is my first Tasha Coryell book, and it definitely be my last. I really recommend this book it's unlike anything I've read before, and I can't wait to see what's next for Tasha Coryell!

To say I flew through this book would be an understatement, the writing was so good and the premise was so fun. I adored Lexie. I can’t believe this is my first book by Tasha and I’m absolutely in need of her first book now.

This book was crazy and fun. I like dark comedic novels. Satires are not an easy genre to write, but I think the author pulled it off. The book does have some rough spots here and there, but overall I think the story had a lot of potential. The cover art is insanely gorgeous. I could stare at it all day.

I wanted to give this author a second shot after being disappointed buy their debut but after reading this I can confirm the writing style just wasn’t isn’t for me. The storyline is super fun but I found a lot of times it felt like I was reading the same passage over and over. Thank so much to NetGally for the ARC for reviewing.

This was an enjoyable read for the most part, but by the end I was hoping to feel a bit more.
Lexie is an interesting and fun character. She is just likable enough, but I also felt like she was a bit too boring. I didn’t need her to do a lot of risky or psychotic things, but her only real passion was reality tv, which I also enjoy, but that wasn’t enough to really round out a person. She had exactly one friend, who turned out to be pretty terrible, which made it so she really harped on the reality tv point as they shared that together.
I guess Lexie also loved her job as a matchmaker for “Better Love” and I think I would have liked more anecdotes and work scenarios. Her cast of coworkers could have a bigger role rather than following Lexie so much. Or maybe a dual narrative story so we get to see either another psychopath or the love interest.
I will say the humor was pretty good and I found at least the first half very readable before I started to get a little bored. Maybe that’s on me for this taking me a few days to get through rather than read it over a shorter timeframe. I also can’t decide how I feel about the ending because I’m not convinced it would work.
If you are looking for a fun mystery romance with love, murder, and a bit of psychopathy, then this is definitely the book for you.

This book is extremely intriguing from the very beginning. First of all, Lexi has interest in clients in her profession who do tend to have psychopathic tendencies, but she’s OK with that apparently. It all changes when she finds out that her boyfriend and best friend are cheating on her so she goes to a client Rebecca for advice which might not have been the best idea. It was really fun to see how Lexi dealt with these bizarre events that started happening in her life, such as her ex being killed and receiving odd packages and trying to figure out her life in this new kind of normal. It’s unhinged and the best way.

This book was hard to put down! It was a whirlwind of wild and I was unsure how to feel most of the time but I couldn't stop reading!!
Main character Lexie was unreliable and unlikeable but you couldn't help but root for her! I thought the premise was great and I think I could definitely see this thriller being adapted for film!
I listened to the audio version thanks to @prhaudio and I thought narrator Sarah Mollo Christensen was very theatrical and made Lexie come to life!

Thanks to Berkley and NetGalley for the eARC!
This was so fun? It's kind of a mashup of genres and it was SO entertaining. I won't give any spoilers because I think you need to go into this kind of blind and just savor the story, but I highly recommend!

Matchmaking for Psychopaths by Tasha Coryell is a clever, well-written romp through the ups and downs of Lexie, a matchmaker for psychopaths. She is employed at the “Better Love” company, and could certainly use their services too, as her love life has gone from planning her wedding to Noah, to feeling devastated and betrayed by her best friend.
Lexie is the first person narrator who easily draws the reader into her complicated world. The plot twists come hurtling at you as Lexie is plunged into a murder mystery, a new romance, and more life changes. All the while she ruminates on her “unconventional” childhood raised by very unreliable parents.
No spoilers here—this is the kind of story to be savored page by page, as Lexie’s past and present spool out in tantalizing, short revelations. The writing and vocabulary are excellent and make this engaging book a real pleasure to read.
Grab this great little novel if you enjoy romance, pathos, and a large serving of dark humor!!
Thanks to Berkley Besties and NetGalley for the ARC. This is my honest review.
