Wow! This is exactly what I needed today! The premise sounded so interesting and I am so happy that this book delivered. The story reels you in from the very beginning, twisting and turning, adding all sorts of crazy details, and throws you this unbelievable ending that has me stunned. I figure out a few of the elements but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of the story. I loved everything about this!

This book was not at all what I expected. I thought it was going to be dark humor with romance but it's just dark! Not in a bad way, just...wow. Absolutely original and full of brilliant twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

I very interesting read I must say. I did get a little bored through just because I did not feel like their was much moving the story forward in the middle of the book and the FMC's delusion with getting her ex-husband back got a little repetitive for me. I will say the from the blurb of this book I think they gave a little too much away as I was aware of who would be the murderer, but I was thoroughly surprised with the other twists in the end that came along with the information.

This is the book I did not know I needed. Totally unhinged and darkly chaotic, MATCHMAKING FOR PSYCHOPATHS lives up to its title.
Satire and razor sharp wit combine to deliver a book that entertains from the start. Our FMC takes the term ‘unr narrator’ to new heights. There is nothing morally grey about these characters—their hearts are as black as coal, yet they remain sympathetic.
Part thriller, part comedy, part mystery, and part romance; Tasha Coryell makes murder seem like fun. I ate this up and am begging for a sequel.
Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

4.5 ⭐ rounded up!
Ummm what was that?!?! Loved it!!! I haven't read a book like this in awhile, where I was hooked from the start all the way until the end. I just love psychopaths finding love lol Really great read that I highly recommend! And the audio was perfection!!

A matchmaker has a deadly past she can’t escape from.
What a ride!
This book, by a long shot, was the most intriguing, compelling, unique, satisfying… I could go on and on but to sum it up it’s the best book I’ve read all year!
There wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t completely hooked into the story. It felt so unique and was an intoxicating blend of genres. There were touches of horror, mystery, psychological thriller, and dark stalker romance.
The story was expertly layered and nuanced. There were so many moments where I thought I had it all figured out but turned out not quite.
And the ending! A slow burn, perfectly paced ending! There was a point where I thought ok here it comes the onslaught of tying up loose ends BUT IT NEVER CAME! The story unfurled naturally and things played out in such a satisfying way.
There’s so much I want to say about this book but I don’t want to give anything away so read it and come talk to me about it!

UNHINGED. In a horrifically brilliant way. Yes, oxymoron's are the best way to describe it. If you love questionable, mostly unlikeable, morally gray characters this is your book. The plot is pretty brilliant. As someone who has navigated the modern world of online dating, seen the carnage, and backed away slowly like the Homer Simpson gif I felt oddly seen by this book. I am not sure what that says about me. Maybe I'm a psychopath? *looks around nervously....

This was a fun and quick read! Based on the title alone, I knew this would be a wild ride. We’re immediately thrown into a messy situation and know that pretty much all of Lexie’s life has been one mess after another. And throughout the book, we continue to watch the trainwreck never end. It was so fun to read and entertaining overall. I like how Lexie always references how much she loves reality TV and I felt like I was watching a show playout as I read the book.
While some of the plot twists were predictable with clear indicators by the author, there were also other ones thrown in I didn’t see coming at all. Overall, I really enjoyed this one and Lexie’s personality overall. My only drawback was things seemed to be a bit repetitive at times.

Matchmaking for Psychopaths by Tasha Coryell
This one hurts, Besties. Hurts.
After absolutely devouring Love Letters for a Serial Killer in 2025, this was high on my must-read list for 2026. I had such high hopes for Matchmaking for Psychopaths, with its quirky title and weird premise, this is totally my thing. But sadly, this one didn’t quite hit the mark.
This book is a perfect example of being told, rather than shown. I wanted the weird. I wanted the unhinged. Instead, I got a flatline. The characters never took shape. Everyone felt underbaked, the relationships were all ideas with no substance, and the plot just sort of... hovered.
Here’s what I hoped for: An unsettling but charming psychopath love story...Sharp, satirical writing... messy character moments that make you question your own morals.
What I got: A surface-level killer concept, characters I couldn’t care about if I tried, a storyline that never really commits to the chaos
Themes:
Morally gray (but like…washed out gray)
Unconventional matchmaking
Identity and deception
Would I recommend it?
Not really. Not unless you’re a hardcore Coryell fan and need to read everything she writes. This just didn’t serve the story or the strange little world it tried to create. But hey, I know Tasha Coryell can deliver something brilliant. I’m still rooting for her next one. This review genuinely hurts my soul.
Thank you to Berkley Pub and NetGalley for allowing me to read and provide my honest review.

4 stars
thank you to Berkley Publishing Group for allowing me access to this ARC
I really enjoyed Love Letters To A Serial Killer last year from Coryell last year so I was excited to get my hands on this one. I expected it to be just as wild and unhinged and I was not disappointed. I will say this FMC had a better sense of self preservation (though that's not saying much, if you read the other book you know the bar was low low). We open with a scene right before a wedding and Lexie receiving a very interesting package. The story goes backward in time from there, showing us how it all led up to that point.
Lexie's boyfriend and her best friend have committed the ultimate sin against her - they tell her they've been having an affair and that they're in love. On Lexie's birthday, no less. While she copes with this information she tells us about her profession as a matchmaker and meets a beautiful woman named Rebecca whom she wants to befriend ... and a strange handsome man. Coryell's writing seems to suit me very well because when I'm reading her books I'm never bored. Her plots are kind of random and different so I never know what direction the story will take next. Aside from that Lexie also has a dark past that she reveals information about over time.
My favorite thing about this book (and the previous one) is hard to explain, but Coryell's characters have this rawness to their thoughts that seems very relatable to me at times. Like they'll think something and I'll be like "I've thought that before" ... they just seem very human, if that makes sense. And if you add that to the unpredictable factor it makes for a really good time. I did predict the twist at the end if I am being honest, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment. There were enough surprises along the way. I am excited to see what this author does next.

Thanks for the free book, @TashaCoryell and #Berkley.

Matchmaking for Psychopaths by Tasha Coryell

Raised by serial killers, Lexie has spent her whole life trying to live a normal life. Her upbringing gifted her with the talent to tell if someone is a psychopath. So, when she gets a job matchmaking couples based on a survey that actually measures how much of a psychopath they really are, she knew she found her true calling. But what she really wants is to marry a normal guy, have a nice family, and be like all the happy families she sees on TV. And she almost did just that until her best friend stole her fiancé right before their wedding. This led to her having a crazy night out, meeting a new guy (who definitely fit the psychopath profile), gaining a new best friend, and getting set up for murder.
Who knew psychopaths could be so fun? I loved this fast-paced, hilarious, and crazy ride. Despite a rather lonely existence, Lexie always remained upbeat and hopeful. She never gave up on what she wanted or herself. She figured out what she needed to do and forged on no matter how crazy things got. And things did get crazy. I loved it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, between the title and the cover art, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance!
Lexie works as a matchmaker. Fine. But she specializes in matching psychopaths, not the “bad kind” she thinks. She’s engaged to Noah, who she thinks is perfect for her: he’s a doctor, finishing up his residency and he and his family are very, very normal - which is something she craves, having been raised by a pair of serial killers. Yep, you read that right.
But then on her birthday, Noah and her best friend Molly announce that they are in love with each other and Lexie is devastated. She winds up in a bar and meets a handsome man who seems to understand her. He becomes an important part of the story as does a new client who Lexie befriends. Lexie loves watching romcoms and reality tv shows and she and Rebecca share that interest.
When Noah disappears, Lexie has no idea what to think. But then body parts start showing up at her home.
The story comes from Lexie’s POV so we get all her thoughts and feelings as we gradually learn her backstory.
This was a wild ride and I loved it. It was quirky and fun and yes, a bit disturbing, plus it had a good mystery at its heart. I did eventually guess who was responsible but not why. This was my first book by the author and I enjoyed her writing style and will look for other books she has written.
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Tasha Coryell can do no wrong!
Last year I fell in love with her debut book, Love Letters to a Serial Killer and I’m right back at it swooning over her latest!
Matchmaking for Psychopaths centers around Alex who makes her living working at a matchmaking service which she’s in charge of, you guessed it, setting up psychopaths on dates! Alex’s world has just imploded, which we get to watch first hand, and the story focuses on the aftermath of her receiving devastating news about her engagement.
I loved the journey we went on with Alex and all of the secondary characters that played a part in the whirlwind of chaos. Is it weird to say I really loved the psychopaths? They were just a downright entertainment, as is the entire story! And just when you might be thinking this story is all fun and games, Coryell goes and throws in some deep self reflection on childhood, loneliness, relationships, and friendship.
If you can’t tell, I loved this book and I think everyone should read it!

I really LOVED the author's debut so I was greatly looking forward to this latest that follows the daughter of serial killers who has a matchmaking business and keeps finding herself surrounded by psychopaths, one of whom seems to be sending her body parts as some kind of macabre mating ritual. Twisty, layered and sure to keep you guessing and entertained. This wasn't as strong for me as her first but I still enjoyed it very much!! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and @prhaudio for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Lexie has worked hard to create a normal life for herself. When she was 18, she’d changed her name. She went to college to get a psychology degree. And now she works as a professional matchmaker and she’s engaged to a doctor. But that starts to unravel at her birthday dinner, when Noah and Lexie’s best friend Molly announced that they were in love. Noah hadn’t even realized it was Lexie’s birthday. He just showed up at the dinner to let her know he was leaving her.
Lexie was upset, but she truly believed that it was temporary. She thought they would work it out, get back together, and get married. But then she got a special delivery at her townhouse, a human heart in a box. Immediately she thought it was Noah’s, as he’d been missing. Molly had stopped by to ask Lexie if she knew where he was, and his friends had started posting about his disappearance on social media. Lexie hadn’t known where he was, but she had a idea of who might have known.
As a matchmaker, Lexie worked with a specific subset of the population. As part of the original interview at the company where she worked, there were questions that would tease out traits of a psychopath. These clients were directed Lexie’s way.
There is a reason why Lexie had worked so hard to create a new, normal life for herself. And there is a reason that she finds love for psychopaths. When Lexie was a child, her parents were madly in love but terrible human beings, and her trauma lends her a special understanding of difficult people. But who would go so far as to kill her ex-fiance? Could it be Renee, her intense new client who is quickly becoming Lexie’s new best friend? Is it Adrian, the guy she hooked up on her birthday after she got dumped and drunk? Is it her mother, somehow making moves from prison? Or is it someone else she knows?
Matchmaking for Psychopaths is an unusual rom com, with lots of questionable characters. It’s said in the book that as many as 1 in 4 people could be psychopaths (a number I’ve heard before), but that ratio is even higher in this book. There are a lot of psychopaths in this story, and I’m not sure how prepared I was for that. I know, it’s right there in the title. Still, there is a lot of killing, and it got a little challenging for me after a while. But I did still enjoy this book. It’s a unique perspective on a typical rom com, and it is full of surprises. I can’t say this one is for everyone, but I am a psychology nerd who may listen to a true crime podcast or two, so I had a lot of fun with Matchmaking for Psychopaths.
Egalleys for Matchmaking for Psychopaths were provided by Berkley through NetGalley, with many thanks, but the opinions are mine.

Matchmaking for Psychopaths was so much fun! It’s a great blend of comedy and psychological thriller with a dash of dark romance. Full of psychopaths and reality TV obsessed characters, it was wild and chaotic but kept me turning the pages. There's never a dull moment here!
The second I read the premise, I knew I had to read this. Lexie has a complicated past and I loved learning her backstory. Despite her many questionable choices, you just can't help but root for her.
There is a twist at the end that I saw coming but it was still enjoyable and I liked how everything played out.
This was my first read by Tasha Coryell but definitely won't be my last! If you like genre-bending thrillers with dark humor, a little gore and unhinged characters, you'll probably enjoy this.
Many thanks to Berkley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t read any of Coryell’s other books, but as soon as I read the premise, I knew I had to read this book.
This book was a wild ride from the moment Lexie’s fiancé and best friend surprise her on Lexie’s birthday with the news that they are romantically involved with each other. Oh gosh, where to begin, new friends replacing duplicitous old friends, body parts showing up on doorsteps. Every time I thought I knew what direction the story was going to take, I was thrown for another loop.
I don’t read a lot of horror, but I sure would read more if they were like this book. I loved the undercurrent of dark humor throughout the narrative. But at the same time, there’s also an undercurrent of tension and dread because it seems pretty clear that someone is after Lexie, and she needs to use all of her skills in order to persevere and outwit her opponent.
I would absolutely recommend Matchmaking for Psychopaths. Lexie is a great antihero because she is easy to empathize with, even when things are getting dicey— no pun intended. I had so much fun with this book, and it’s easily one of my top 2025 reads. I’m probably going to look up Coryell’s earlier titles and bump them to the top of my TBR.
I received a digital ARC of this book from Berkeley/NetGalley.

Lexie appears to have it all: the supportive best friend, doctor fiancé, and the dream gig helping others find love…well, those of the psychopath variety, anyway. When her personal life implodes, she takes solace in her work, and when a new client comes into the picture, she’s determined to make Rebecca her new bestie as she works to get her man back. But when she does start to get him back…in pieces…Lexie is left to solve what happened to her former fiance, and who is turning this into a game for her.
I guessed half of the big twist early on but still really enjoyed the way this story unfolded! It was a wild ride from start to finish and left me laughing or unable to put it down on more than one occasion. Such a fun read for the summer!
Thank you to Berkley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book was like Materialists (the movie) meets You (the Netflix show).
This was an utterly unhinged thriller featuring a matchmaker who specialises in helping psychopaths find love.
Without giving too much away (I mean, you can read the synopsis and spoil some of the fun), this book features an unreliable narrator with a dark past, destructive relationships, a murder mystery, office drama, and a hint of romance.
This book starts with major romcom vibes but quickly takes a deep dive into the realm of psychological thriller.
While I loved the premise, the delivery fell short on various fronts. I was hoping for something that was more akin to a dark romcom, such as Serial Killer Games, which perfectly balances dark humour with romance, suspense, and mystery. This novel, however, leans more towards the realm of suspense/thriller, and was a bit lacking in the humour and romance departments. I was also hoping to be introduced to more of Lexie's so-called 'crazy' clients, I wanted more Aiden and relationship development (there's so much potential there!). And finally, while I enjoyed the ending, I was also kind of hoping for an epilogue.
Nevertheless, this was a fun read. I would classify this book as more of a thriller and wouldn't go so far as to call it a dark romcom.

This is the first time I’ve encountered a cover that so perfectly mirrors the emotional and thematic depth of the story within. From the very first chapter, this book grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Each chapter escalates the tension in such a gripping way that I found myself questioning whether anything else on my to-do list could possibly matter more than finishing this novel.
The characters are richly developed and deeply flawed, some by design, others by choice, which adds layers of complexity that elevate this beyond your average thriller. And that ending… I’m still thinking about it and wishing I had someone to unpack it with. It’s haunting, bold, and absolutely unforgettable.
This is a standout in the thriller genre, unique, emotionally charged, and masterfully paced. I highly recommend it and can only hope there’s a sequel in the works.
