Matchmaking for Psychopaths is a dark, hilarious ride through the messiest kind of love and murder. Lexie’s life spirals after her fiancé and best friend fall for each other. From there… chaos ensues.
This book is chaotic, twisted, and totally entertaining. The characters are flawed in fascinating ways, especially Aidan, who somehow manages to be both unsettling and swoon-worthy. A few moments stretched believability, but the wild tone made it work.
If you like your romance with a side of murder and a splash of psychopathy, you’ll devour this.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Notes while reading Matchmaking for Psychopaths:
"What did Lexie do?! 😱
Okay, so that happened. Problem solved."
Lexie is trying y'all. She just wants the guy, the best friend, and the job. Is that too much to ask? There IS a slight setback when her fiancé runs off with her best friend, but Lexie is determined to get her fairytale. Maybe her story comes with a different happily ever after, though.
Why did I love this so much?! It is twisty. It is dark. It is campy. It is a love story. Matchmaking for Psychopaths is deliciously disturbing in all the best ways!

I thoroughly enjoyed Matchmaking for Psychopaths from beginning to end! We are introduced to Lexi, and early on, we see her experience what should be one of the worst days of her life. However, once we get some background on her, we realize it's really not even a blip on her radar of bad days. But don't worry, she meets a man, and while she is convinced Noah is going to come crawling back, this guy, well, he's ticking all her boxes right now, and that's exactly what she needs. At least until he shows up at her job, claiming to be her soul mate, a real human heart shows up on her doorstep, and Noah hasn't been seen in a while. Things are starting to seem a bit suspicious....
I loved each twist and turn. I had no idea what was coming, and I have to say I LOVED Aiden, he's definitely someone you want in your corner. I had a ton of fun with this, and I'll be checking out this author's previous books

✨ARC Review✨
I had no idea what I was getting into with this one and I don’t think you should either. Just go in as blind as possible and let the story sweep you away. Like a tornado.
Alexandra/Lexie walks into what she thinks is her birthday dinner which, of course, will be followed by the surprise party she’s been heavily hinting she wants. Instead her fiancé and her best friend are seated on the same side of the table. Yeah. You know where this is going.
Lexie leaves and walks to a nearby bar where she plans to drink her troubles away for the night. Instead, a handsome man introduces himself and next thing you know, she’s spending all night with him and his friends and then just him. She drunkenly tells him her darkest secrets since she’s never going to see him again, right?
As a matchmaker for psychopaths, she should know better. I mean, her psychopath clients don’t know they’re being matched as psychopaths, but it’s all in the questionnaire.
She’s dealing poorly with the breakup as it is and then a beautifully wrapped heart is deposited on her doorstep. A literal heart.
This was such a fun and weird read. I loved it! Part romance part thriller part incredibly dysfunctional family dynamics. All clever.
Highly recommended for lovers of fate, serial killers (in fiction), and body parts disposal!

Listen friends-this book came out on Tuesday so you can all run and buy it now (and thank me later) This book has it all and so much more. The dark humor is perfect, all the unhinged situations *gaspworthy* and the romance aspect was heartwarming. I laughed out loud so many times. Lexie is a wonderful main character. You just can’t help but root for her and feel for her predicament.
I would be remise if I didn’t mention the fabulous cover. It is probably my favorite of the year. All around this book has a little bit of something for everyone. It was everything I did not know I needed at the moment. Thank you @netgalley for my copy!!!!

Alexandra grew up craving food, safety, and love—needs she’s spent her life trying to fill with a beautiful home, a doctor boyfriend, and a job helping classified psychopaths find love. Alexandra spends her days dreaming of being married to Noah, watching trashy reality tv and envisioning her life play out as a reality show, and loving working at her job in hopes of eventually leading her own division. But when her boyfriend and best friend reveal they’re now a couple—on her birthday—Alex’s carefully built world shatters. Then her ex turns up dead, and as bodies start piling up, she begins to suspect her new friend, Rebecca, might be more dangerous than she seems.

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group via Netgalley for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
I liked this book it didn’t feel like a traditional thriller read, but more of a rom-com thriller feel. I liked Lexie she was a great character to watch evolve. I would have liked to see a little more from the situation that involved her best friend I felt like we need a confrontation or something, but that did not happen. I kind of guessed the twist, but not completely. Overall this was a fun book to read.

This book was a wild ride! It’s been quite a while since I’ve read something this in this genre, but I’m so glad I took a chance on Matchmaking for Psychopaths. Lexie is such a fascinating character, and her choices intrigued me throughout the book. She’s somewhat of a contradiction and, due to several factors, begins to make choices that she might not have normally, which lead to … less than desirable results.
I couldn’t put this book down. It sucked me in from the very beginning – it gives you characters to love, characters to hate, and a storyline that pulls you in. I couldn’t put it down! If you love thrillers with a romantic twist, this one is for you!

Where does one even start with this book? If you love stalking, intrigue, humor, and edge-of-your-seat suspense, you’re going to be just as obsessed with it as I am. Lexi’s journey is completely captivating—from the first page, you’re pulled into her world and the chilling obsession that follows her. It’s dark, twisty, and totally addictive.
The author does an incredible job balancing unsettling tension with moments of humor and sharp banter that keep it feeling real and grounded. Every chapter hooks you even deeper. The sense of danger lurking around every corner had me anxiously turning the pages, desperate to know what would happen next.
This is the very definition of a page-turner. I promise you won’t be able to put it down once you start. If you’re looking for a story that’s both thrilling and surprisingly fun despite its darker elements, add this to your TBR immediately. You won’t regret it.

Unhinged, darkly funny, disturbing. I could not put this book down! It's hard to categorize, but it has mystery, dark humor, romance, and horror elements. The author's imagination, humor, and plotting kept me constantly wondering what was coming next and laughing out loud.
Reality TV and romcom obsessed Lexi works for a dating service that specializes in matching psychopaths. Her fiancé just dumped her for her best friend, and now body parts are showing up at her door. And that's all I will give away, except to say this was one wild ride!
This was my first time reading this author, and I really enjoyed her writing style. It was both witty and compelling, filled with keen observations and memorable characters. I embraced this story's chaos and quirks, I mean, there are a lot of psychopaths in this, and I had such a fun time with it! I found myself questioning every character and second-guessing myself a few times. While I did figure out the who, I did not figure out the why, and I enjoyed that little surprise!
Thank you to Berkley Publishing and Netgalley for the gifted eARC
*4.5 rounded up

I enjoyed this book so much ! It was fun , twisty , funny , and overall a good time . I loved the unique concept of the story . I’m definitely going to recommend this book to my friends !

Did not get a chance to finish however enjoyed the chapters and getting to know the main character. The author has a distinct dark but humorous voice and fans of her first book will love this one too!

I could review Tasha Coryell’s Matchmaking for Psychopaths in one sentence of “I didn’t see that coming, and I loved it.” From a perfect title (and it’s pink 🩷) to one of the most unique and entertaining serial killer plots I’ve come across lately, I wouldn’t change a single thing about this book, except now I need more. Will Lexie live happily ever after in her dream Victorian, or will she embrace her inner psychopath? This book should be in beech and pool bags everywhere this summer!

If you, like me, walked out of the theater wishing A24 had taken it there by adding a horror element to The Materialists, THIS is the book for you. Matchmaking for Psychopaths is propulsive in its wit, its idea of romance, its display of female friendships, and in the way it weaves horror into the plot just as you start to feel safe.
This story danced along the limits of my comfort zone; there were so many moments where I couldn't quite explain why I felt like laughing, screaming, and looking over my shoulder in abject horror induced paranoia simultaneously, all while never leaving the bubble of enjoyment Lexie's narration created. I found myself constantly on the edge of desperation, NEEDING to find out exactly how we came to be where the story began.
Yes, this is the story of a matchmaker who couldn't quite outrun her past as the child of notorious psychopathic serial killers, but it manages to maintain a comedic, at times satirical, tone through the darkness it contains without ever making light of the subject matter. Tasha Coryell did an incredible job blending all of the pieces I love of different genres into one original, darkly captivating tale and I 1000% recommend picking it up!

Matchmaking for Psychopaths is for those who have ever been called "crazy". Matchmaking for Psychopaths written by Tasha Coryell was fun, gritty, memorable, laughable, powerful, unhinged, inspirational, and real. When I saw Tasha had a new book coming out, I was literally jumping and screaming with glee. I couldn't be more thankful to have had the chance to read this book early, when I saw I had been approved my heart was bursting with joy because this was one of my many anticipated releases of 2025. After loving Love Letters to a Serial Killer last year, my jaw was on the floor when I saw this stunning cover, I just knew I had to get my hands on this book immediately. I honestly think I loved this book way more, I couldn't stop laughing out loud at the unhinged moments. Y'all need to have your popcorn popped and ready to go on July 15th, 2025 for the release of Matchmaking for Psychopaths because you definitely won't want to miss out on the fun memories this book will bring you. I honestly didn't expect to love this book as much as I did, but I was completely shocked and loved every single minute of this lovely book. If you are looking for something bingeable and laughable, then I highly recommend having this book on your to be read list. My jaw is still on the floor two weeks later. The dark humor was just top tier, but then again dark humor is my love language, so I'm always appreciative when authors have the best dark humor incorporated into their books.

Alexandra Smith was the most unhinged firecracker of a woman. Alexandra grew up hungry, hungry for food, hungry for safety, and hungry for love. Alexandra experienced an enormous amount of loneliness in her youth, she definitely didn't have a normal childhood, because her parents were murderers. Peter and Lydia Schwartz were named as serial lust murderers because they picked up women in bars and murdered them, Peter and Lydia lured these women with sexual acts and then proceeded to murder them. Due to these circumstances, Alexandra's childhood was like a horror show. At just eighteen years old, Alexandra moved across the country and changed her name so she wasn't associated with her parents anymore. As the years went out, Peter was murdered in prison, he was stabbed to dead, his head was cut off, and his organs were removed, meanwhile Lydia is in prison hundred of miles away. Alexandra spends her free time on the couch reading books or watching reality television. Her real strength is her ability to read people, but she doesn't know how to open up and let people in. Alexandra is a match maker for psychopaths at Better Love where she is devoted to helping others find love with her experience in psychology. Alexandra has aspirations to become a therapist because she just loves helping others. I absolutely adored Alexandra, she was inspiring and she was so ambitious, she loves her job, and she loves watching people succeed in life. Alexandra is the type of person that puts everyone else above her own well being, she puts other people before herself because that's just the kind of person she is despite having a rough and mentally draining childhood. After hearing her story, I just couldn't help but root for this woman, she was a badass.
At Better Love, Alexandra has an ambitious job matching individuals with.... well unconventional emotional responses. Alexandra's clients may sit somewhere on the psychopathy scale, but they aren't dangerous and murderous kind of psychopaths, they are everyday human beings such as doctors, teachers, and lawyers that deserve love. One day at work, Alexandra meets Rebecca. Rebecca Newsom works for a luxury car dealership, her hobbies include driving fast cars, exercising, and most notably- watching trashy reality television. Rebecca is tired of dealing with dating apps bullshit, she cares more about personality than looks, so she turns to Alexandra for help in finding her next relationship. Alexandra and Rebecca clicked instantly, they both love trashy reality television, they both have a murdered parents, and they both attend The Children of Murdered Parents group, which is a support group of people that have parents that were murdered. Originally Alexandra never attended, but one day she saw Rebecca walking in, so Alexandra walked in as well not even knowing what she was attending until she found out what the group was for. What started out as a client first, Rebecca and Alexandra bond and become best friends, which feels like a lifeline for Alexandra because she truly has had a rough life and could use people in her corner. I loved watching Rebecca and Alexandra bond, but goodness gracious the twists, turns, and secrets during their friendship was absolutely insane. The bombs there were dropped definitely left me speechless, but you will have to read this book in order to find out what happens, if you need more convincing, let me just say that I didn't expect these truths to hit the ceiling fan the way they did, I was completely shell shocked. Rebecca Newsom had me fooled, but still I loved watching their friendship blossom even though it took wild turns along the way.
On her thirtieth birthday, Alexandra was hoping for her fiancé Noah to propose to her at the restaurant they were at for her birthday dinner, but instead her best friend Molly and Noah dropped the bomb that they were in love with each other. Meanwhile, Noah completely forgot that it was Alexandra's birthday. Alexandra was expecting a box with a ring inside, but when she arrived at the restaurant, she instead found her best friend and Noah sitting at the table. When Noah and Molly dropped the bomb that they are in love with each other, Alexandra and Noah were engaged, they had the wedding date finalized, they already had a venue picked out, Alexandra had her wedding dress already picked out, and they were even house hunting. I can't believe Molly had the audacity to buy matching dresses with Alexandra for her birthday celebration, but instead Molly is in love with Alexandra's fiancé. At her birthday dinner, Molly and Noah confirmed their affair had been going on for months, but Alexandra was completely blindsided. Noah is in his last year of medical residency, so he was hardly ever home, but I guess we know why now. Molly and Alexandra became best friends at the age of twenty-four and now six years later, their friendship is ruined. Three weeks after their break-up, Noah is found dead and Alexandra starts receiving anonymous and threatening gifts, a human heart on her doorstep, a vase of flowers with a note that said "I know who your parents are" was sent to her office at Better Love, an intruder broke into her house and left a village of tiny red hearts and pink houses with a post office envelope that said "Love Letters", and a cupcake all surrounded by body parts and pink fairy lights. This whole debacle was ludicrous and uncalled for, why do people have to be so weird and creepy because they are unhappy? I was left speechless by everything that happened in this book, but as more truths are dropped, you will need to read this book. I'm honestly so flabbergasted by all of these events, someone please read this book right this minute so we can scream together.

I would not want to visit inside Tasha Coryell's brain. It's a scary (though creative) place.
Alexandra, in the present calling herself Lexi, works as a matchmaker. When her boss was developing their matchmaking questionnaire, she included questions related to determining psychopathy and realize there was a niche for finding these people love. Lexi is good at that niche because there's been more than the usual amount of psychopaths in her life, and in my opinion, she's been afraid to face that she might be one too. Lexi's parents were serial killers, in love with each other and the thrill, with little time or care for Lexi. It means that in the present, she wants to build a life that's perfect on paper regardless of how it makes her feel, or if its a falsehood.
After she finds out her fiancé was cheating on her with her best friend ON HER BIRTHDAY, Lexi spirals, and makes some impulse decisions that drive her down strange and unexpected paths. Lexi has to confront reality when she's suddenly being sent the gift of body parts. Who is sending them? Who is the body? And how does she really feel about it.
This has a really wild ending that had my jaw dropping over and over, even though I guessed one of the bigger twists fairly early on. This book is a reminder that you never know what anyone in your life is truly capable of, you've just got to try and trust love when you can.
One drawback for me on this book was that it felt like it still crapped on friendship in the end, like pursuing friendships wasn't worth it if you had romantic love. Part of that is Lexi's specific experiences, but that bummed me out a bit.

Thanks to @berkleypub and @berkleyromance for the free published copy and e-ARC and to @prhaudio for the review copy of this audiobook!
Check the genre. This isn’t a romance, although there is plenty of coupling. Thriller/mystery. Slow paced. But intriguing.
There were so many likable unlikeable characters, including Lexie, the main character. Her job of matchmaking for psychopaths was probably the least interesting thing about her. Her backstory was wild! I rooted for her even as I knew she was doing the wrong thing.
Compelling storytelling. It was a slow unfolding but I couldn’t put it down. I did not predict several big twists.
The Narrator was good. Single POV but she brought all the characters to life.

Darkly entertaining! I had a hard time putting this down. Lexie has made a niche for herself as a matchmaker... for psychopaths. Her personal experience as the daughter of serial killers might give her an edge! I really enjoyed Lexie as a character- she's morally complicated, she's desperate and determined, and her life and career have brought other fascinating characters into her life. This sophomore book is even better than the author's first.

This was so much fun! I loved the dark female friendships and how everybody was sketchy. I also am obsessed with all of the Real Housewives and other reality tv references. I too think of my life in confessionals. Jk but now I want to! More of a review to come on pub day

Thank you so much to Berkley Pub for the complimentary copy of this book!
This book is out on July 15th!
This is my first book by Tasha Coryell and my goodness this was so fun! I had no idea what to expect but with an AMAZING cover and eye catching title, I knew I had to read this.
This book had a little of everything and if you are a fan of books that cross genres, this one could be for you. Coryell is giving us romance as well as a murder mystery. The book starts off with a bang as Lexie world begin to unravel around her all at once - her boyfriend and best friend are in love and want to be together. Heartbroken she does what most people do, throws themselves into work. Lexie meets Rebecca who Lexie determines should be her new best friend and well that became an interesting relationship by the end! As if Lexie wasn't going through enough, she is being mailed packages that contain very interesting things inside.
Lexie was such a fun character on page. She went through a lot growing up and really tried hard to separate herself from her parents history and even currently struggling with her relationship with her mom. And you're probably thinking, where is the romance? Well one of her matchmaking clients, Aidan, becomes very interested in Lexie and is pretty much becomes attached to her. She learns he even has done research on her and pretty much will do anything for her.
There is a lot of stuff that happens and I saw other reviews list it as unhinged and I have to agree there are a lot of unhinged moments in this. I may go back to read Coryell's first book because of how much fun I had with this one and I look forward to see what she does next! I would recommend this book if you don't normally like thrillers due to scare factor as I feel like it could be a intro the genre and you still get the humor that you find in romances.
