This is exactly what I was looking for. This was a cute and cozy MM rom com, grumpy/sunshine. Charlie was the cutest human with such an eager personality, very golden retriever-esque. And Lorenza was a perfectly grumpy vamp that wanted nothing to do with Charlie's shenanigans. This was very low stakes and light hearted with a bit of spice. I loved all the different creatures featured in this story and how Charlie and Lorenzo interacted with them. My biggest gripe was any time there were any "stakes", they were over very quickly with little to no repercussions. The ending was also quite predictable, but from a cozy story, what was I really expecting. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would pick up more books by this author.

I wanted to love this book so much. The premise was so freaking cute. I also really loved all of the characters. The problem I had with this book was that the third act break up was obvious from the first time this couple met. And I don't blame Lorenzo at all for being upset that Charlie lied to him for their whole relationship. I am begging romance writers to find another plot device besides the third act break up. OR at least not make it so obvious!

Other issues I had: the column write in from various supernatural creatures were unnecessary filler. It felt like "how many supernatural creatures can I mention" and did not advance the plot. I also did not love how she handled the first time they had sex. It was an incredibly awkward time in the book and was kind of brushed over afterwards. If you're going to write a spicy scene you should be able to handle how the couple handles it after. We want romance books to show healthy relationships!! Or at least be upfront about it not being healthy.

Things I liked about the book: The side characters! I actually wish she had delved even deeper with them. I thought their stories were great. I also loved the supernatural community aspect. Found family is my favorite trope!

Although this one wasn't a huge hit for me, I would read this author in the future. I think she has a nice writing style. Just a few tweaks and her stories could be great!

I really enjoyed Thirsty! It was an entertaining read, though it did have some struggles. I enjoyed meeting all of the characters and seeing their relationships with each other.

I would have liked to seen more about

Lorenzo's revenge plot - it felt forgotten about.

Why supernatural beings wouldn't speak with Charlie beforehand - I thought this would have an explanation later in the book, but it did not.

A little more character growth for both Charlie and Lorenzo.

All in all, the characters were pretty interesting, and the side characters were fun. Thirsty was an enjoyable read.

This is a fun and silly paranormal rom-com, but calling this enemies-to-lovers is a bit of a stretch, since Charlie doesn't seem to hate Lorenzo. I love the idea behind a revenge plot and enjoy the low stakes slow burn here.

This is quite surface level, there isn't much world building and not much character development. But, I adored the grumpy/sunshine dynamic between our two main characters, and the side characters brought some humor.

Both characters feel very flat, so it in turn made the relationship not make sense to me. I didn't feel the chemistry between them and they went from being annoyed with each other to being into each other pretty quickly. The progression didn't feel natural, there was no build up, no tension, nothing. Their first sex scene was dumb, they are literally on top of a broken windshield and they are laying on broken shards of glass. So sure that seems like a great time to start getting freaky.

Also all the interviews started getting repetitive, they were basically meeting new creatures every other chapter so after the first few they got boring. They literally had like 5+ interviews by the 50% mark of the book. Also Lorenzo's reasoning for wanting revenge is weak, it says in the synopsis that he wants get revenge on Charlie cause it's his fault the "love of his life" broke up with him. But in no point in the book does this man say anything or act like that previous relationship was anything more than a short fling. He's definitely more upset Charlie was involved in the break up than the actual break up. And how are you as a 200+ year old vampire still this pressed about a brief relationship from 5 years ago with a college student. Also Charlie is using/lying to Lorenzo for most of the book so it's kinda hard to root for this relationship. The beginning and the end of this book were definitely the strongest I will say, given that this is the author's debut, I do see the potential and I think with a bit of time I could really enjoy her future works

Unfortunately I am putting this down at 70%. But as usual, what I am not enjoying about this book may be the reason another picks it up.

I had expected this to be a silly goofy shenanigan-filled good time. And while most of that was correct, it didn't have much in the way of shenanigans. I enjoyed getting to meet and learn about all the supernatural beings, but there wasn't any overarching plot outside of the romance. I kept waiting for something to happen but at 70%, I was still waiting. I am sure the third act conflict will occur soon, but since it is quite predictable (and also my least favorite variety), I didn't feel the need to continue. I listened to this book straight through until 70% and knew that if I put it down, I wouldn't pick it back up again.

That said, if you're looking for a silly goofy MM paranormal romance with low stakes and low tension, this might be a exactly what you need!

I loved this book! What a fun premise and the execution was very well done. I thought the characters had good chemistry and I liked the twists in the story to make this unique.

I'm on the fence. The first half of Thirsty had me contemplating DNFing, but I'm glad I stuck it out. Overall, it's a cute read.

Thirsty was a fun reading experience, with flawed but lovable characters, an entertaining premise and good and flowing writing style. I expected a bit more out of it on various aspects, but I still really liked it in spite of that.

The rating would be more like three and half stars, but I'd rather give it four than three.

This hooked me from the first paragraph and I could not put it down! It was so much fun, yes its a bit kitch, but that's what to expect when reading a book called Thirsty, and can I tell you, the writing definitely quenched my thirst. Charlie is lovely in his bit of self deprecating spiral of dread while trying to float above water in this hellscape we call capitalistic life. And throw in a hunky, though awkward, vampire hero and I did not get much sleep. I could not put this book down. The writing draws you in and keeps you engaged, and before you know it, hours have passed and you are literally laughing out loud. I love their relationship and how it progressed from gentle disdain to unlikely friendship to eventual love. Even the side characters gave so much life to this book. I was obsessed. It's hard to find a vampire book, especially romance, that doenst feel like the same thing being regurgitate over and over, and this was it.

This Book was provided by NetGalley but all opinions and reviews are my own.

This was very cute and cozy and was positive towards the Ford Focus which seems mildly like Lucy Lehane (aka Liz Bowery, author of Love Hate and Clickbait) is apologizing to me for insulting Old Navy in her previous book.

(Warning for potential spoilers but it's a silly book about a vampire and an advice columnist we're not revealing state secrets here) I only gave this 4 stars because the amount of em dashes and ellipses in the dialogue was distracting and it wasn't as unrealistic and high stakes as Love Hate and Clickbait (something I'd never thought I'd say about a book about a vampire) and it all kind of went nowhere so the coziness felt cloying rather than sweet at times. I suppose this is the gay version of the witchy romcom genre of which a million books are published every October. I still kept it 4 stars because their first kiss/sex scene involved them making out on top of the aforementioned Ford Focus (that they had just fell on as they escaped a pack of werewolves and turned it into a smoldering pile of rubble) and if we can't enjoy the truly romantic stuff like that then why even bother reading ya know?

Thanks to the publisher for sending me this book extra early most likely due to my increasingly unhinged review of her first book which I still stand by. Who knows maybe when I re-read Thirsty I will also increase the star rating as my third eye is opened to the truth

cute!! the writing was nice! i really liked the initial premise of the romance and the two main characters! the idea of a world where every supernatural creature "came out" but most humans didn't even notice it because they had their problems is fun and innovative! and i loved the column parts of the book!! carrie bradshaw vibes that was fun! that being said, i do think the switch lorenzo did from hating charlie bc of what he did in the past to being in love with him felt way too quick for me, and it kind of happened off-page.

(also, weirdest first sex scene i've read in a romance book, why did they have sex for the first time on top of the broken windshield of a car??? there is broken glass beneath the two of you!!!)

I like the back half of this, but honestly I found Lorenzo intolerable for most of it. But the world as a whole was deeply interesting and I love the WOC advice columns so much I held out for the whole thing and I finally got on board with Charlie and Lorenzo by the end

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
This was a very fun read and excellent work by a debut author. I love the combo of more zany comedy with a steamy romance, making sure the com in romcom is not left behind. Plus vampires!

This is a M/M romance/vampire novel with extra creatures for some flavouring. I'm new to this author... enjoyed their writing. The romance was a little lack-luster at times but I enjoyed it overall!

Thirsty follows Charlie, a human advice columnist living in a world that recently has had supernatural creatures step out of the shadows into public prominence. This has left him without much advice to give as he knows no Supernatural beings and doesn't feel confident in providing advice unique to non-humans. When he finds himself down on his luck back in his hometown, Charlie stumbles into a way to gather info on supernatural community members for his column when he meets Lorenzo, the vampire-ex of a college friend. The plot summary alone was intriguing and the promise of a queer vampiric romance made me hope this would be an easy fave.

Even for a romance novel, the drive of the MCs was flimsy at best in the beginning, particularly Lorenzo trying to get "revenge" on Charlie for his part in breaking up Lorenzo and his ex-girlfriend. As the novel went on, I enjoyed several of the supernatural side characters we meet and enjoyed the glimpses into various supernatural communities. The columns spread throughout chapters were a fun addition and really helped to flesh out the world the novel is set in.

I wish I'd enjoyed this more than I had but unfortunately Charlie didn't make for as compelling of a character as Lorenzo even if Lorenzo at times didn't feel 200+ years old. Whenever things got more serious, delving into the isolation of being a vampire or supernatural entity, the book became infinitely more compelling but that left Charlie a bit one-dimensional by comparison. There was such a wide variety of side characters, I'd enjoy a companion novel set in this universe following someone else while giving us glimpses into Charlie and Lorenzo's lives.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for an ARC, all thoughts are my own.

This book struggled to grasp my attention for the first half of it. Yes, there was a slow burn building but the content was so dry and kept putting me to sleep. Once it entered the relationship portion, it was at least somewhat interesting. This was my first read from Lucy Lehane and I believe I am not a fan of her writing style. I would have liked the beginning to be more compelling. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review.

LOVED IT! Paranormal romance is one of my favorite genres and this one did not disappoint at all. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed this novel, it was fun, lighthearted, campy. Essentially exactly what it’s marketed that it would be. I enjoyed Charlie’s questions about Lorenzo’s life and how thought provoking it would be about the sacrifices that come with being immortal and losing loved ones.
