Thirsty is a fun, campy paranormal romance with a grumpy vampire, a chaotic human, and a dash of enemies-to-lovers. Some plot points felt a little weak, and the romance couldโve used more build-up, but the side characters and hilarious advice columns totally made it worth it. A cute, quirky read perfect for spooky season, with a gorgeous cover to match. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book ๐

This book was definitely a fun time. I read this in one sitting. A male male paranormal romance between Charlie who is a journalist and Lorenzo the vampire.
Both of the main leads were great at the start. Lorenzo is amazing. I loved reading him. He was sarcastic and sassy. Chaotic in just the best ways. Charlie, on the other hand felt a little two-dimensional and I wasn't the biggest fan of him. At times he felt very annoying and grating. But he does kind of grow on me in the end.
I would not necessarily call this a hate to love romance because it doesn't last very long. The hating portion is wrapped up pretty early on in the book. It would definitely be classified as a paranormal rom-com, though. There were some absolutely laugh out loud hilarious moments in this book.
Although one thing I absolutely love about this book is hears that there is so many paranormal creatures. The sheer expands and variety is amazing to read. It's not just your basic level paranormal creatures. There are so many more and I loved that.

This was great! If you love paranormal romance like EJ Russellโs โFae Out of Waterโ series or Cynthia St Aubinโs โThe Case Files of Dr. Matilda Schmidt, Paranormal Psychologistโ series, and liked โWhat We Do In The Shadows,โ this is for you!
I love vampire romance and I love advice columns and this book has BOTH. (I think the advice letters were my favorite part.)
Swoony and sexy and angsty and tender.

To me, this felt a bit like Starter Villain meets What We Do in the Shadows. Youโve got a slow burn romance, grumpy/sunshine MCs, and enemies to lovers set in a world where supernatural creatures of all kinds are among us. The premise felt a little flimsy but overall the story is cute and a lot of fun and a big heart.
Lorenzo is a grumpy 239 yr old vampire who just wants to find a soulmate but doesnโt know how. Charlie is a human tasked with learning more about the supernatural creatures of the world so he can dish out better advice in his weekly column. Lorenzo, however, is holding a grudge against Charlie; years ago, Charlie had apparently dissuaded his friend from pursuing a long distance relationship with Lorenzo. And he hasnโt forgotten or forgiven.
It took me a while to get through this one. I got a little bored by it. I didnโt fully understand or buy into the reasoning Charlie gives for 1) lying and 2) resisting his feelings for Lorenzo. The lie he begins their relationship with is dumb and kind of a weak plot point, imo. Thereโs a whole subplot about Lorenzoโs supernatural roommates but I found their personalities dull and the storyline uninteresting. Lorenzo even had a bit of an existential crisis at around the 75% point but it felt like too little too late. I wish it had been a bigger part of Lorenzoโs story because why *wouldnโt* an immortal being have an existential crisis?? That could have informed his character in really interesting ways. The book has plenty of redeeming qualities but the romance and character development were a little disappointing for me.
Itโs clear the author was aiming for fun and campy and she nailed that. The supernatural outings Charlie & Lorenzo go on were really funny and entertaining. And the final 25% of the book really redeemed it for me. I enjoyed the ending quite a bit. For those reasons alone, I would recommend giving this a try if youโre in the mood for a cute, fun spooky season read. (Iโd also love to see Gray get his own book! ๐บ๐)

Enemies-to-lovers but make it undead. Filled with fantastic banter and worldbuilding and complete with a slow-burn romance, this is What We Do in the Shadows meets Red, White & Royal Blue!

Thirsty is a cozy paranormal romance with a Dear Abby twist. The world building was fun and the characters were sweet. I wouldnโt say this was overly memorable, but itโs a fun quick read.

Thirsty is a fun paranormal romp featuring a chaotic human and a grumpy vampire, as they navigate the paranormal world. Charlie needs help with his advice column, The Wise Old Crone, and who better to introduce him to other paranormals than Lorenzo, a vampire with lots of odd jobs. Except that Lorenzo still holds a grudge against him for advising a friend to dump Lorenzo when they were in college, and tries to get his revenge against Charlie.
I enjoyed the romance between Charlie and Lorenzo, but I thought their relationship needed a little longer before they got together in the book.
Lorenzo's roommates are absolutely delightful throughout the story, especially Rachel and her poltergeist. The side characters really made the book for me!
The clips from the Wise Old Crone were hilarious as well, and I enjoyed reading those.
Overall, this was a quick, fun read with lots of interesting characters and antics!

Huge thank you to Netgalley & Friends for this earc! Didnโt fully know what to expect with this one but I throughly enjoyed it! A perfect blend of supernatural fantasy and romance. Thereโs enough to compliment both types of readers and it kept me entertained the whole time.

While the premise of the book is engaging the continuing hidden motivations of each character is frustrating for the reader and the 'reconciliation" at the end does not feel earned, rather is is something that happens because that is what will make this book a romance.

Thirsty took me by surprise, in all the right ways. Lucy Lehane writes with biting honesty and a chaotic kind of charm that made it impossible to look away. The main character is deeply flawed and often self-destructive, but thatโs what made her feel real. Her journey through addiction, loneliness, and the desperate search for something more was heartbreaking and strangely empowering.

Looking for a fun, steamy, male male vampire/human romance?! This was excellent for a good time. I went into it blind and didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just vampires in there. Every supernatural being you can think of was there! Throw in some larger then life personalities and you get one fun time that you hate to see end.
Recommended!

this was so fun! a refreshing paranormal book that focused on the emotional aspect and not just the physical aspect. i enjoyed the emphasis on community and the multimedia aspect with the emails! very very fun.

'Thirsty' was fine. I think it just wasn't for me? I was just a bit annoyed by the main characters and couldn't get over it as the story progressed. It was enjoyable enough, especially if you like paranormal romance and/or urban fantasy.

I somewhat enjoyed Thirsty but it definitely had some bumpy areas I wanted a bit more from. Donโt get me wrong, it really was a fun read but at times, the plot got a little convoluted and the writing feltโฆlike it didnโt always flow well.
But I will say, the relationship was fun! And cute! And I loved the plethora of supernaturals that we got to see (would love more pnr books in the world actually!)
Altogether very fun, a few bumps along the way, and potential for more in this world!

Okay wow โ I read this in practically one sitting, and honestly? I had a great time. Sure, it had a few misses here and there, but overall, this was a fun, chaotic, and surprisingly sweet paranormal romance.
Letโs talk characters. I really liked both of our main leads... though Iโm still lowkey questioning whether I actually liked them together (ohhh the internal conflict). Lorenzo was my fave from the get go โ mysterious, broody, and with just the right amount of sass. Charlie, on the other hand, kinda grated on me at times. He had some โsir pleaseโ moments, but Iโll admit, he did grow on me by the end.
Now, about the romance itself โ While they call it enemies to lovers, yeah but itโs more like a grudgy start that turns into awkward friendship, then eventually love. The โhateโ portion gets resolved pretty early on and doesnโt really carry through the story the way youโd expect. I think I wouldโve liked it more if weโd seen that tension develop a bit more gradually, rather than it just poofing into thin air.
The plot pacing felt a bit clunky in parts โ some moments really dragged, while others sped by without much impact. I also found myself wishing the story had taken a deeper dive into a few of the themes it introduced. There were some really interesting ideas and moments that felt like they were just brushed past instead of being explored more fully. Just needed a bit more meat on the bones, ya know?
That said, I absolutely loved that the advice columns were actually included throughout the book rather than just being mentioned. Easily one of my favorite touches โ fun, clever, and surprisingly heartfelt.
I also really appreciated that it wasnโt just a vampire romance. The variety of supernatural characters added a lot of charm and flavor.
The writing style overall really worked for me โ sharp, witty, and stylish โ though a few pieces of dialogue missed the mark. Still, it had voice, and that goes a long way.
And yes, like so many romance books, the ending was a little predictable (๐๐), but I canโt lie โ I still smiled. hea secured, cutesy vibes achieved.
Also, side note: the cover? STUNNING. 10/10.

Charlie is on the struggle bus at work, his once thriving advice column is no longer getting the hits he needs to stay relevant. He's had to leave his life in New York City to return to his quiet hometown. Meanwhile, with supernatural creatures coming out from the shadows, more and more questions about relationships with supernatural creatures are flying into his inbox. The problem? He doesn't know any supernatural creatures or how to find answers about them. In a lucky break, he runs into his friend's ex-boyfriend, Lorenzo, whom he quickly realizes is a vampire... who may be able to help him out.. only Lorezo is still pissed about the advice Charlie gave his ex, leaving him dumped.
As Charlie and Lorenzo (with different motives) work together, they find that maybe they actually get along way better than they originally thought. This story was filled with witty banter, fun barbs, and a deep emotional connection that both are deeply afraid of. I enjoyed watching these two come together in an enjoyable story.
If you love vampires, and other supernatural characters just looking for love I would recommend this. It was a quick, fun, low stakes read and hit the mark for what I was looking for. Thank you to the publisher for providing an advanced readers copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 rounded up to 4 stars

An MM paranormal book with an enemies to lovers trope? What more could you ask for?! I very much enjoyed this story and while I think there were some areas that could be improved (editing and such) this book had great bones to it. I thought the romance was sweet, believable and hot. I liked that our MMCs werenโt perfect and we got to see them grow individually and also in their relationship.

wow wow wow!!! Let me start off by thanking Lucy Lehane, NetGalley and St Martins Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review!
I wanted to read this because who doesnโt love a good supernatural/paranormal romance?! I was pleasantly surprised by the plot and characters. (Love you Charlie!!) The story trajectory didnโt feel like an afterthought, we got to see lore about other creatures not just Lorenzo (vampire) and I just really like how it built up to them going from enemies to friends to something more! (That kiss scene! Three words: oh em gee)
Overall 4/5 stars โญ๏ธ
Thank you again to NetGalley and St Martins Press!

Im sorry but I could not complete this book. I got to 65%. The grammar and editing was terrible. No periods, No capitalisation of the beginning of sentences. The story wasn't engaging enough for me to try to understand when a sentence was ending or who was speaking in texts/dms because none of that was made clear.

This book was surprisingly really cute and well done! I didnโt expect to enjoy the story as much as I did. Charlie and Lorenzo have a great relationship and itโs definitely an enemies to lovers type of vibe. I was a bit confused in a few parts of the story, it seemed like things kind of jumped around or just quickly transition to something new. I wasnโt a huge fan of the extra letter written to โwise old croneโ but the answers that Charlie wrote were well done!
Overall I would give this book a 3.5- only because itโs not one of my favorites, the plot needs just a little touching up, and the setting was a little confusing at the beginning.
