My only complaint is the third act break up, its a trope I am not a fan of. I am looking forward to seeing more from this author for sure.

Slow burn romance done very well!
Charlie and Lorenzo had good character development and chemistry as characters, I was genuinely excited to continue reading to see what events would take place and to hear more about them!
Side characters felt apart of story and not of some after thought to add more dimension which I find isn’t that common in romance.
Thank you to NetGallery and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.

The vampire resurgence is alive and well, unlike Lorenzo. The concept of a supernatural advice column is very fun and I enjoyed the bits of Charlie’s writing. This book requires a fair bit of suspension of disbelief as to why these two are spending any time together and why the vampire is holding such a grudge. I never fully bought the relationship itself but I did enjoy the ideas of how the supernatural worked into the mortal word. Not a new favorite but generally enjoyable.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this book. I really tried, but I found the characters to be lacking depth, the romance didn't engage me, and the main conflict felt dull. I appreciate the opportunity to read it, but it just wasn't to my taste.

Things to expect..... enemies to lovers with a bit of grumpy X sunshine vibes .
Queer characters .
Excellent world building.
Thank you netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read Lorenzo and Charlie's story. This was was fun quick read unlike any other paranormal romance I've read. So mark your calenders for October 14 to see what I'm talking about.
Thank you netgalley for this arc!!!

Unfortunately, I got this Arc very late to its archive date and it was taken away too soon for me to read it. However, I will purchase it in the future because it sounds like a amazing book.

What to expect? Thirsty falls into a specific category of book that's popping up more recently. It's a gen-z punchy, comedic romance with paranormal elements. And I'm here for all of the books that fall into this trend. This was a fun read following an advice writer as he navigates learning more about the paranormal world and falling in love with a vampire along the way.
"Hi all. I'm uh- well, my coven thinks my powers are scary. But I don't reanimate corpses! Or- human corpses. Just small rodents."
Things I loved?
🔸 This book was just so much fun to read. The humor was on point and I loved all the sections of the book dedicated to the notes that supernaturals and humans alike would send Charlie to get advice on. Lehane took the paranormal world and she ran with it. I wanted to read an entire book about almost all of the notes that people wrote in.
🔸 I also loved that a more serious romance and themes of community tied into the book.
🔸 We got to see so many different supernatural creatures throughout the book and we got to learn so many different communities and cultures. You can tell the author put the work in and researched and created entire worlds here. I want to read a million books set in this universe.
"Once you submit those, a shaman will preform a ritual that will indicate whether the insurer will cover it." (This scene had me rolling)
What could be improved?
🔸 I did find the big "secret" that Charlie was keeping to be kind of ridiculous. I don't really understand why he couldn't tell Lorenzo the truth to start with, but whatever. This was resolved fairly quickly and painlessly. That saved the book for me towards the end.
"Lorenzo's cool. More of a lone wolf. Or a lone... corpse."
Books recs if you liked this one?
🔸 Until the World Ends by Jolene Gettler. An mf romance that deals with a pr firm trying to get people to come live in a monster riddled city. The humor is on point.
🔸 The Good Vampires Guide to Blood and Boyfriends by Jamie D'Amato. A funny mm romance that tackles a newly turned vampire and his search for romance and community and self. The pop-culture tie-ins are on point.
🔸 Starter Villain by John Scalzi. Not a romance but it has a lot of great humor that I think fans of Thirsty will appreciate.
Would I recommend this book? Yes! This was so much fun to read.
"Am I the only one who cannot follow wedding dress codes anymore? I've been invited to a commitment ceremony between two Litches of the Eastern Frozen Gate, and the dress code is Tortured Casual. What the hell does that mean?"
Thank you to Netgalley & Macmillan for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

4 star review - it was a wonderful read. Read well and it kept me engaged. Thank you for the author and team, for the chance of an arc.

This was a very enjoyable cozy paranormal romance. It was fun to see the world building and exploration of the different types of supernatural beings. I would definitely read a sequel about the unicorn. The advice column sections had me laughing at the references and problems experienced by people who are trying to figure out the supernatural world. The side characters were excellent and the main romance storyline had a decent amount of slow burn to not feel like it was just insta-love.

This book was lovely. The protagonists are sweet, flawed but growing and healing, vulnerable, and just wonderfully fleshed out. I really resonated with this storyline and their slow burn relationship progression.
The supernatural elements were well done, interesting, and unique. I love the author's take on the supernatural dynamics and on vampire lore specifically. I appreciated the fantastical grounded in realism. The miscommunication was less annoying than it usually is. I felt it was handled well. The roommates were absolute gems. Each character introduced felt uniquely their own person, and I didn't get weighed down trying to remember who was who.
This story explores forgiveness and reconciliation after deep hurt. It explores the way we misread others and their intentions through dirty and imperfect lens and how growth and understanding can come overtime when we truly try to connect with them.
It explores the isolation and loneliness of a long long life and how life can deceive people into believing they are more alone and are making less of an impact on the world around them than they actually are. It showcases how good intentions can lead to good advice at some times and terrible results in others and how advice columnists don't necessarily have positive intent, even if maybe they started out with it.
I don't know. I just really really loved and connected with this book. Significantly more than I was expecting in that I thought it would just be a fun read, but instead it contained so much heart and emotion in its pages. I laughed. I giggled. I kicked my feet. I facepalmed. But I also felt my heart expand and break along with the characters. I cried.
If emotional journeys featuring sweet, albeit flawed, male protagonists and the supernatural is up your alley, I highly recommend giving this book a try.
Content: language, cracked open door spice (lower spice threshold, more focused on the budding relationship over explicit while still giving broad stroked details)
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy of this book. This review is voluntarily written and the thoughts and opinions contained in this review are my own.

Thank you St Martin’s and Netgalley for this eARC, these opinions are my own. A fun paranormal rom com! Charlie runs an advice column that he’s struggling to relate to anymore. All people want is help and advice on dating paranormals. Which Charlie has no experience on. So he’s determined to meet as many paranormals as he can in order to learn more. That’s how he meets Lorenzo, a vampire, who Charlie’s unaware actually hates him. Charlie impacted Lorenzo’s past and Lorenzo plans to get his revenge. As Charlie steps more into the world of paranormals and the two interact will something more develop? Or will the secrets they both have crush them? Lucy Lehane does a wonderful job on the world of Thirsty and the paranormals that inhabit it! I loved the dynamic of enemies to lovers and the chaos that ensues with Charlie and Lorenzo! Plus the supporting characters are all wonderful! A hilarious and charming slow-burn romance that is sure a utter delight!

Thirsty is a cozy, paranormal adjacent, MM romcom that focuses on a shitty advice columnist and a depressed vampire. while both of these characters fell pretty flat for me, Charlie really just made me violent. the side characters were far more interesting, and I can appreciate the world and different creatures tue author spent her time on. but they made me want to read about the main couple even less.
also, and this is 100% a me problem, Lorenzo always showed up in my head as the vampire from hotel transylvania and getting that accent out of my head was hard.
and then there's the problem for me of the wise old crone. it's awfully close to the guy that does the Valthakan Times with people who write in for advice from his Crone persona. just wanted to bring that tid bit up.
obviously these are my honest thoughts, thanks netgalley for the earc.

A Fun, Character-Driven Vampire Romance
I liked this book! It’s a nice little romance with just the right touch of angst, featuring a classic vampire x human dynamic. While I did find that the plot started to feel a bit repetitive after a while, the characters more than made up for it—especially Lorenzo and his roommates, who were easily the highlight for me.
Charlie, the main character, was just okay—not particularly memorable, but still enjoyable enough to follow through the story.
Overall, it’s a decent read, especially if you’re in a bit of a slump and looking for something light and entertaining to pick up. It’s definitely worth giving a shot!

This was a fun twist on enemies to lovers, I very much enjoyed the dynamic between the main characters

A unique story and an interesting depiction of your favorite supernatural creatures. The two main characters are fun to interact with once they have kicked off their journey. The first third of the book felt slightly shallow in terms of the depth of the character personalities and conflicts. However the last two thirds were fun and interesting to read. The spice was minimal, as an avid smut reader I wish it was more graphic but I understand that is not everyone’s taste. I hope we get to see more of this fun little quirky fictional town!

5/5 stars! Make the next one even more queer for the haters! The cover of this book was stunning: two men leaned in to embrace and coloring that sets off Halloween vibes! Yay! This is an enemies-to-lovers romance with two lovable and idiotic (in equal measure) MMCs. Their chemistry is off the chart and I found myself smiling through the whole book. I'll take 10 more just like it please.

First off, I adore all the different mythical characters in this book. Ghouls, werewolves, orcs, they were all introduced and explored in an interesting and fun way. Charlie and Lorenzo got tied together by a past misunderstanding that made me laugh and drew me in from the get-go! I really did enjoy the whole read, and it was mostly low stakes, so a great romance to chill with. I do wish the sensual scenes between our couple were more fleshed out and detailed. They mostly felt like fade to black moments, even though the makeout sessions were nice and steamy!
Overall, I adored this, but it could ise a bit more spice!

This was a fun, quirky paranormal queer romance. I thought Charlie was such a fun character, I didn't love Lorenzo but he was tolerable for the most part. Overall, a decent dual POV romance!

Thirsty was exactly what I needed to get myself out of a terrible reading slump!
Charlie and Lorenzo were such cute characters and I loved the progression of their relationship - it's a little bit enemies to lovers at the beginning but quickly progressed into this grumpy/sunshine hurt/hurt romance that gave me all the butterflies.
I really enjoyed the snippets from Charlie's Crone threads and the bits about different mystical creatures, there was just enough there to keep me invested in all the little dramas.
*SPOILERS BELOW*
The only thing preventing me from putting this in the five star category is the gosh darn liars reveal trope and rushed conclusion - it felt like Charlie could have been straight up with Lorenzo from the get go and still have the tension of 'will they won't they' with Charlie's articles gaining traction.
They could have still had that tension of 'maybe he'll move back to New York' because he's got this hit column and big job offer without all the lies and Charlie could have still written about Lorenzo without asking to build up on that betrayal before coming back together in the end.
All in all, Thirsty is a cute and fluffy romance and I'll definitely be on the lookout for more from this author. I'd love to see more of this world and deep dives into some of the side characters we met in this book.

a cozy paranormal romance between a vampire and an advice columnist.
the world building was like a movie, seeing how all the different supernatural creatures were in the modern world. the romance didn’t suck me in, which i was sad about. the romance was fast and the characters are very surface leveled.
