MY THOUGHTS
- This book grabs you immediately. It’s layered, tense, and full of that slow-burn suspense that keeps you turning pages.
- I loved the multiple POVs—especially how we get chapters from both Verity and the mysterious “other woman.” It’s a clever structure that keeps the tension high.
- The identity of the other woman stays hidden for most of the book, and it’s handled so well. The clues, the red herrings, the pacing—it all worked.
- Every character felt like a suspect. I didn’t trust a single person, which made the whodunit aspect super engaging.
- There are a lot of twists. Some I guessed, but a few genuinely surprised me, which is rare.
- The ending? Extremely satisfying. Everything ties together in a way that makes you go, “Oh wow, of course,” but also, “Wait, what?!” in the best possible way.

TL;DR:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A gripping, twisty murder mystery with dual POVs, a perfectly executed “other woman” twist, and a seriously satisfying ending. If you love domestic thrillers that make you question everyone, this one delivers.

My first time reading this author who I’ve seen highly recommended.
It’s a twisty and unpredictable ride, Verity and Linden are happily married. Verity’s world is shattered by his m*rder and then again in discovering he was having an affair. Determined to get to the truth and find out about the other woman, Verity may be putting herself in danger.
This is a pretty wild thriller with a lots of twists and unexpected turns. I can see why people are getting excited about Dandy Smith’s books.
Thanks to Netgalley and Embla Books

The Wedding Vow by Dandy Smith is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the complexities of marriage, betrayal, and the pursuit of truth. The narrative centers on Verity Lockwood, who, a year after the unsolved murder of her husband Linden, uncovers evidence of his infidelity. This revelation propels her into a relentless quest to identify “the other woman,” casting suspicion on those closest to her, including her neighbor, best friend, assistant, and cousin.
Smith masterfully employs dual perspectives, alternating between Verity and the enigmatic “other woman,” which adds depth and intrigue to the unfolding mystery. The plot is meticulously crafted, with layers of deception and unexpected twists that keep readers engaged. As Verity delves deeper into her husband’s secrets, she confronts unsettling truths that challenge her understanding of their relationship and her own reality.
The novel has garnered acclaim for its suspenseful narrative and compelling character development. Readers have praised its ability to maintain tension and deliver shocking revelations. One reviewer noted, “So brilliantly done and full of jaw-dropping twists. It had me gripped from the first page and I stayed up until 4am to finish it. The ending blew my mind.”
However, some readers have expressed mixed feelings. While many found the book unputdownable, others felt the pacing varied, with certain sections dragging before the narrative regained momentum. Despite these differing opinions, the novel’s intricate plot and unexpected twists have left a lasting impression on its audience.
In summary, The Wedding Vow is a captivating exploration of love, deceit, and the lengths one will go to uncover the truth. Dandy Smith’s storytelling prowess ensures that readers remain on the edge of their seats, making this novel a compelling addition to the psychological thriller genre.

Another great story from this author who has a lovely way of writing. Twists and turns galore . Well worth a read .
Thanks to Netgalley for an early ARC in return for an honest review

Huge thanks to NetGalley, the author, and Embla books for the ARC for my review!
Dandy doesn’t disappoint!!!
There is just something about her writing style that is absolute *chefs kiss* because it just absorbs you. The perfect dual timeline/multiple POV. Every chapter gives you just enough of the story to keep you going and give more hints, but leaves you on a cliffhanger that just drives you to get back to that side of that story. Truly the definition of un-put-down-able.
I normally resonate with the characters and generally have some sort of affection or care for them. But man were these people hard to love. So many lies. So much drama. So much deceit. So many bad decisions. The character builds were so great, and added to the potential clues, which made every plot thicken that much more.
I promise you I even said out loud HA I had it figured out. I was wrong in a couple places but the ending I was all set. Then here comes the final like 8% of the book like gotcha girl. I did noottttttt see that coming. Not one bit.
10/10 must read for me and would totally recommend. Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next! Definitely an auto-read author!

I loved this book! The suspense, the betrayal, the revenge, THE EVERYTHING!!! OMG!! I wish I could read it again for the first time! Great job to the author!! I am definitely buying this book and adding it to my library!

My first Dandy Smith book and let me tell you that by the first quarter of this I’d added all of her other books to my wish list because OH MY GOD! Loved it, nice punchy chapters that kept you wanting more, a multiple POV between Verity, the wife and The Other Wife. It’s hard to say much without giving anything away, but please read this, it’s worth it! The minus half a star is simply because I guessed a part of the twist quite early on but now that I’m finished I think I was meant to 👀 I did not see that ending!

Dandy Smith is always a great read. This one was no different and a wild ride with twists and turns. The dual POV is one of my favorite styles and really made the suspense in this book even better. I stayed up into the early morning so I could finish this.

Verity Lockwood thinks she has it all - a loving husband, a successful internet business and many good friends - until she returns home after a brief business trip and finds her husband Linden beaten to death in their study. Then, after a year of grieving, Verity is devastated when she discovers a cache of love letters sent to Linden by another woman. Who was she? Thee are so many suspects. Her neighbor? Her assistant? Her accountant? A friend? We won’t find out until the shocking and totally unexpected conclusion.
The Wedding Vow is an absolutely unputdownable thriller. Told in alternating chapters by Verity and the other woman, you see both Verity’s desperate anger and the other woman’s hope for a future. You’ll feel sorry for both these women, the victims of Linden’s manipulations. Put this one on the top of your TBR pile! I cant wait to read whatever Dandy Smith writes next! 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, Embla Books and Dandy Smith for this ARC.

I loved this book! It was intense (especially the ending). The story hooked me up from the beginning and i loved the writing style. It was easy to read and easy to follow the story. I kept guessing who the guilty party was and I kept going from one person to another and details kept matching them, but the way this book ended surprised me and showed how wrong I was about some of my guesses. One of the best fiction books I’ve read in a while and I will be reading more from this author.

Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to review this book. This story is narrated from two angles, alternating between Verity, the wife of Linden, who turns up dead at the book's opening, and another character. When Linden is murdered and Verity learns about his affair, she’s left with a ton of unanswered questions, particularly about the woman who he was having an affair with. . As she dives deeper into her search for the truth, Verity starts to suspect almost everyone around her. I was also left guessing who the mistress might be. My only small complaint was some confusion towards the end, but I was generally pleased with how it all concluded.

Thanks to Embla Books and Dandy Smith at NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review ‘The Wedding Vow’.
It follows Verity Lockwood who is at a retreat while her husband, Linden is brutally beaten to death at their home. A year later the police aren’t any closer to finding Linden’s killer, grieving Verity and her cousin go through Linden’s things when they find a laptop, a burner phone and a stack of love letters. Linden was having an affair… and she needs to know who. Everyone is a suspect! Who is lying and who is telling the truth? She will stop at nothing to unearth it all. It is written from the perspective of ‘The Wife’ and ‘The Other Woman’. The Wedding Vow is an incredible read and it’s fantastically written. I enjoyed each and every character and they all had their place which I adored. Its seriously gripping, suspenseful, captivating with jaw dropping twists and some more twists then it takes a turn that I didn’t see coming. I am in utter shock and awe. Although I personally would’ve liked to hear more about the murder scene this book is a 6 stars and I genuinely couldn’t fault anything about it. It had me racking my brain for any possible signs but I was clueless until the very end, I couldn’t stop thinking about this book and if you love psychological thrillers you MUST READ THIS BOOK! I highly recommend!! 10/10

Loved a good mystery & thriller. This was brilliantly written and a gripping psychological thriller with a lot twists.
The ending was pretty awesome!
Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher Embla Books for the ARC.

A terrific twister of a read which will make you question whether you can ever truly know anyone. The multiple perspectives make for a thought provoking read and I found myself really questioning what is the truth and how points of view impact on your understanding of that concept. It’s really well written with the depth of grief almost jumping off the page as you get to know Verity,

A great paced thriller. Verity was a great character. I felt for her and what she was going through. Her grief then suspicions the even more grief at the revelations about an affair. And still it goes on when she starts to search, seek and unravel just what's going on and who her husband really was.
I really enjoyed this book and thought all the feelings and plot points were done to perfection to keep you both hooked up.and down up and down.

What an awesome read! It was full of twists and turns and made an excellent read. I could not put this book down!

The Wedding Vow kept me on the edge of my seat! The twists and turns were unexpected, and the suspense built up perfectly as Verity unraveled the truth about her late husband. I was hooked by the emotional depth of the characters, especially Verity's struggle with betrayal and grief. While the pacing slowed down a bit towards the middle, the explosive final act made up for it. The mystery of who Linden's affair partner was had me guessing until the end. Overall, a gripping psychological thriller with dark secrets and intense drama. Definitely worth the read!

Wow! What a thriller! This book has more twists than a curvy mountain road. There are so many characters and most are s
spects in the murder of Veritys husband. Verity came home from a out of town meeting to find her husband beaten to death . While clearing out his things a year later she found evidence of an affair . As time goes on she realizes what a cad he really was and is determined to find out who the other woman was. Just when you think you have it figured out this author takes you down another way. This is really some of the best writing I have ever read. I am very interested in reading other books written by this author. Seriously, this book is more than good. If this is your genre don't miss this one it is a.real treat!!
Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read this amazing ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Dandy Smith, you little plot twist mastermind!!! The Wedding Vow had me absolutely spinning! This “whodunit” murder mystery pulled me in from page one and never let go. There were so many moments where I was left speechless, clutching the book like, what just happened?!
Love hath no fury like a woman scorned—and this story was overflowing with scorned women, which kept me guessing until the very last page. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Dandy Smith would drop another breadcrumb, only to lead me straight to a dead end. I was second-guessing everything and still didn’t see that ending coming! The tension, the twists, the perfectly layered suspense—absolute perfection.
If you love a mystery that keeps you on edge and makes you question every character’s motive, The Wedding Vow needs to be at the top of your TBR. Buckle up—you’re in for a ride!

"The Wedding Vow" by Dandy Smith is a fantastic 5-star read! Verity is grieving the loss of her husband, Linden, when she discovers he had been hiding a major secret. Determined to uncover the truth, she embarks on a search that could have deadly consequences.
The story is told from two perspectives—Verity’s and that of The Other Woman. The author does a brilliant job of keeping you guessing about the identity of The Other Woman—at some point, you’ll suspect nearly every female character. I lost count of how many times I was convinced I had figured it out, only to change my mind a few chapters later! The final reveal of The Other Woman and the person responsible for Linden’s death was both surprising and satisfying.
This is my second 5-star read from Dandy Smith, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
