I got so into this book - from the start it totally pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down. It has everything the title promises: Zombies, romance (SPICE!) and comedy! I don’t want to say more as I don’t want to give spoilers but highly suggest!

This is such a fun book! I adore a good romcom and this one didn't disappoint. The banter was fantastic. This book has some awesome quirky characters, including supernatural beings. And Edie is the best! She's such a relatable character. I adore her so much! If you're looking for a book that will have you laughing and kicking your feet, this is for you. I definitely recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for allowing me to read this book ahead of release in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book was incredibly FUN! It starts with a weaponized burrito used to defend against a zombie and just escalated from there. I don’t think I have laughed that hard and that often from a book in a long time.

Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC!

Zomromcom was a quick, fun genre-bending paranormal romp, but I was left wanting a little more depth. I think I expected (and would have preferred) a bit more of a slowburn. However, the banter was great! I also loved the plus-size representation and body positivity from the FMC. It’s always refreshing to have a plus-size character where her size is not also a plot point.

The world-building in the beginning was a little heavy on telling rather than showing. I get why such explanation was deemed necessary as it’s there are a lot of unique/unexpected aspects, but it made it made parts of the first few chapters a little boring. And you still only really saw a tiny fraction of this world. But it was clearly set up for a sequel so I’m hoping that will be explored more in the next book!

Twenty years after the first zombie invasion, Edie comes home after a long day, looking forward to relaxing with a well-earned burrito ... when she spots her airhead next-door neighbor, Chad, about to be dinner for a zombie. She comes to the rescue, only to find that Chad isn't exactly who he seems, and the problems they have to face together are much bigger than a stray zombie or two. What follows is the most genuinely fun and joyful post-apocalyptic story I've ever had the pleasure to read. Edie and Max/Chad set off on a quest to save the world, forge a merry band of outcasts, and fall in love along the way. The balance between the absurd (the foodstuffs, the Gaston ditties) and the serious (Edie and Max's individual traumas in life) is perfect, and the story kept me reading late into the night.

this was so cute! i really liked the set up for the possible sequel. i would have liked a bit more backstory on the secondary characters since it felt like they were just dropped in.

This was my first Olivia Dade novel, but definitely won’t be my last! I had so much fun with this one; the world building was unique and really made you feel like you were right in the middle of this post-apocalyptic world.

***Paranormal romance
***Brave and fierce FMC
***Grumpy/sunshine
***He’s not human, but that’s okay!

The humor, the action, the twists, the MMC named Gaston - ate this one right up! Loved all the side characters. Seriously could not put it down cuz I just needed to know what was going to happen next. And the romance of it all? Gradual build-up thay just hit right! Really hoping we’re gonna get a sequel!

Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley for the ARC of this novel; all opinions are my own.

Truly, a wonderful little smorgasbord of love, gore, and laughter. Edie was a treat and a half and Chad/Max/Gaston held my heart after he tolerated the first ribald tune from Edie's lips. So much preservatives in weird "bread-in-a-can" type survival food; the story, like the food, will last, in my memory at least, forever and gives me much silly cred for having partaken of such glory and all-in-all, total satisfaction. I'd recommend this to any lover of zombies, vampires, comedy, and, of course, romance. A point dinged for the ending: cliffhangers without warning aren't fun. I await the next book eagerly.

Can a book about killer zombies be considered cozy? Because I feel like this was almost a cozy fantasy read.

Edie decides to save her college bro next door neighbor from a zombie attack, but afterwards realizes he’s been acting like a human when he’s actually a vampire. Edie decides to go and warn the other humans in the other zones where she finds some interesting friends. As their adventure continues Edie finds herself falling for the handsome vampire, but will they both survive the zombie hoard?

This books was okay but it was mostly just the two main characters doing banter. It was cute banter but I wanted more. The story really didn’t go or do much. There was a final battle which made the book worthwhile. The world building was almost nonexistent. I don’t understand why the government would even allow people to live in the containment zone? And is there a world outside of the Zone? It’s really confusing. The author doesn’t say much about outside the circles.

I wish we had more zombies and less time spent talking about feelings/food/banter. It was cute don’t get me wrong I just wanted more. The ending like I said was great. I wanted more of that. This book ends so a sequel can be made, if it continues like the ending I will definitely give it a read.

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for the arc.

This was awesome fun. I wasn't expecting to love a zombie romance story as much as I did, but Olivia Dade pulled it off beautifully.

Edie and Max have been neighbors for a few years, but she initially dismisses him as a run-of-the-mill "Chad," until she saves his life (or tries, anyway) from a zombie attack. Turns out, Max isn't exactly the himbo he portrays, and a strange relationship (situationship?) ensues.

The snark between Max and Edie is master class, and I will never hear Gaston's song the same way again. Superb romance; highly recommended.

This book was such an unexpected delight—packed with zombies, magic, witty banter, and the most delightfully chaotic female main character I’ve come across in ages. Edie is pure chaos in the most entertaining way, and her dynamic with Max is absolutely electric. She brings the wild energy he didn’t know he was missing, and together they’re an unstoppable force. Their chemistry leapt off the page and had me grinning like a fool. I loved how the story balanced heart-pounding action with laugh-out-loud moments. The world-building was vivid, and the pacing never let up. Overall it’s a great fun read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC.

What a fun romp! Very cinematic and a great zombie/fantasy turn on the grumpy/cheerful romance trope. I fell in love with all the characters and look forward to having them fleshed out (ha!) further in future books. I want to know all their secrets! And I love that there's a huge conspiracy plot they need to unwind.

Zomromcom by Olivia Dade
Supernatural Entanglements Series Book 1
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book had me from the first line. It told us everything we needed to know about the FMC. She is fun, campy and fearless. The FMC and MMC have a wonderful banter right from the beginning. I was a bit confused about the world building in the beginning, but quickly figured it out. Zombies, Vampires, Witches, Trolls and more, this book covers many supernatural beings. I was invested. And many times anxious about the outcome! This book kept me on my toes. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

i had heard of olivia dade but have never read one of her novels until this week. unfortunately, i think her writing isn't for me as both the plot and the character development were lacking in zomromcom, dade's newest paranormal zombie romance. my issue with this one is that the world-building around how people(/supernatural creatures of the non-human variety) get infected seemed to be the focus in the beginning, but then the romance aspect kicked in instead and the footing of dade's writing/the overall structure of the story never quite recovered. however, i do feel like there will be a great audience for this in those who don't care too much about the holes in contagion stories and those who don't care too much about gradual romance development. i'm just sad i didn't like this one but may read dade's other work in the future.

Fantastic! I wasn't sure how Olivia Dade's character-centered romance would translate to a world with Zombies. She slam-dunked it. The romance works, the world was self-consistent enough to satisfy my picky brain, and the level of tension remained fun. I liked that the love scenes were more lovingly detailed than the violence and blood. I prefer it that way! I liked both main characters, and the other people they encountered were well-rounded and diverse. Plus, the book club questions at the back were hilarious!

Thank you Berkley for the eARC!

DNF around 35% - this started off really strong and I'm not quite sure what happened. I don't think Olivia's writing style is for me. We do love a plus sized FMC though!

This is further proof that Olivia Dade never misses. As a fat woman, the way Olivia writes fat FMC’s is truly my favorite. Edie was such a hilarious badass-in her own way. I mean, trying to save your stoner neighbor from a zombie attack with your precious burrito (qith extra guacamole obvi) is just a hilarious scenario to kick the book off with.

Max was also just a *chefs kiss* grumpy, hates-everyone-but-her MMC. Which is like my catnip tbh. I really just loved how the author weaved so so so many hilarious scenes into this book. I was CACKLING like every chapter. Plus that spice?!?

I’ve never read a zombie apocalypse rom-com before, but this is easily one of my favorites so far! It’ll be hard to beat, thats for sure! It IS going to be a series, I believe Olivia said Zomromcom is the 1st book in a series of 3! I figured I’d give that disclaimer because I totally thought it was a standalone!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy! This was a great, fast weekend read.

Olivia’s book are always a lot of fun and this one was no exception. I loved being able to tell during my read how much she enjoyed writing it, because it clearly shows in the finished product. I may not forgive her for getting the Gaston song stuck in my head however!!

It was an interesting take on the zombie apocalypse and I am eager to see how it all plays out. I hope paranormal romcoms continue to succeed because they’re now one of my favorite romance subgenres. Olivia is one of my favorite authors so I am really looking forward to additional books in this series.
