I really liked the idea of this book, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. I had a hard time keeping all the characters straight, and I found the ending to be a stretch. I also think I would have enjoyed this more if it wasn’t YA.

This is only my second book by Kate Alice Marshall, but I feel like I've quickly learned that when I pick up one of her books, what I'm going to find is a solid thriller. In terms of pacing, writing style, and atmosphere, Marshall really nails it. And with this one, I think she had a lot to say. The more I reflected on the themes and the audience, the more I really appreciated what she was doing here, tackling the cult of internet personalities who can spew dangerous beliefs without ever being tested and also the quiet danger of entitlement labeled as "just being nice." While I did feel like the narrative could be heavy-handed and redundant at times, I still think this is a valuable conversation to have and one I would have found even more thought-provoking if I had read it as a young adult. I can't wait to read more from Marshall.

Idk. I was just not a fan of this story. All the characters were unlikeable. I should have DNF, but I was curious about the ending.
Thank you, NetGalley, and Penguin Group for the ebook in exchange for my honest review.

3.5
Entertaining and enough twists to entertain but not making it seem jumbled and overshadowing the original plot points. Flowers well.
I liked the survivor games and tasks but with a dangerous twist.
People are always more than they seem.

Kate Alice Marshall does it again, but this time in the young adult genre. From the first page to the last page, I was hooked. I thought the action would start in chapter two, but the story was action packed from the beginning.
If you like survivor stories meets television program, this one is for you. Each character has a past, and this past will help them either survive or not. Overall, this was a mesmerizing read, and I loved every moment.

Thank you to Kate Alice Marshall, PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group , and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was like an adventure that you want to be on, and then things start happening, and you regret going. The suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I really enjoyed the writing and the plot twists.

This book had that perfect mix of survival tension, strong characters, and just enough mystery to keep me second guessing everyone! Mercy is such a grounded character and I loved following her strength and vulnerability through all the chaos. The pacing was sharp and the atmosphere was eerie, If you’re into thrillers that combine high stakes action with some heart, this is one to add to your stack.

This book is full of twists and turns. I couldn't put it down. I was intrigued to see how it all came together. Really well written

Thank you, NetGalley and Penguin Group, for an advance copy of this book.
We Won't All Survive by Kate Alice Marshall is a YA thriller set in an abandoned mining town. The premise is a reality show where a group of eight young adults come together for a challenge-type show. Think Survivor. However, things are off from the very start, and our FMC, Mercy, has to navigate her traumatic past to survive the c0mpetition.
As a fan of the "hunting human" trope, I found this YA read quick and enjoyable. I appreciate the opportunity to read this ahead of the release date and look forward to picking up other novels by Kate Alice Marshall.

Eight young adults have been selected to participate in a survival instincts reality TV show. However, when they arrive at the filming site, there is no one there. Then, the gates close and lock, and they are trapped there. Not too long after, someone turns up dead. What is going on? Will anyone make it out alive?
This was my fourth book by Kate Alice Marshall. I enjoyed the character of Mercy Gray. There was a good amount of suspense and mystery involved. The pacing did feel a bit off at times. Not as amazing as the other books I’ve read by Marshall. However, overall, I did enjoy the book. It was a great palate cleanser. I would give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

ARCReview: We Won’t All Survive was a gripping, fast-paced thriller that kept me hooked from start to finish. The twists just kept coming, and I loved how it never slowed down. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Highly entertaining and hard to put down!
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Group for this ARC copy!

Mercedes Gray is credited with saving lives during a mall shooting and now still carries a fragment of a bullet in her back. She is recruited to become part of a survival reality show with a group of other teenagers who have been through some sort of trauma. Once they arrive at the site things are just wrong and people are dying.
I liked all the characters and I had fun trying to figure out who was the bad guy. I didn't know who I was rooting for. The site is an abandoned mining town and I could feel the heat and cold of the desert, the dust blowing around and the decay of a place that has been left alone for a long, long time.
It's not great literature but it sure was a fun read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin Young Readers for providing me with a digital copy.

I always enjoy Kate Alice Marshall’s books—she’s such a great writer. At the start of We Won’t All Survive, I was honestly surprised because it felt a little slow, and usually her books grab me right away with all the adventure and intensity. But once it picked up, I couldn’t put it down. The story turned out to be incredible and totally worth sticking with.

Thank you to @prhaudio and @penguinteen for this wild ride!
Eight young people are recruited for a cash-winning survival show created and hosted by billionaire Damien Dare. Each contestant has lived through their own life-threatening survival experience which makes them able to withstand anything. Right?
Mercedes Grey is one of those contestants. Because of a school shooting, she carries shards of bullets in her back. But most of all, her medical bills depleted what used to be her sister’s college fund. She is determined to win the money. Each contestant quickly finds out there is more to this show than they bargained for.
I’ve loved quite a few of Kate Alice Marshall books and this one was definitely fun. It went from a questionable contest to real danger with deaths happening around each corner. Mistrust, suspicions and blatant lies cover the pages all while they are running for their lives. There are crossroad moments, humanity being challenged and finding inner strength. It was fabulously laid out and was just a fun story from start to finish. And the ending? 🙌
🎧AUDIO REVIEW: Jess Nahikian did a great job. Intensity for many scenes was crucial and she didn’t skimp one bit. The voices were clear for each character and I really enjoyed this one!

This book kept me on edge the whole time. The mix of trauma and a high-stakes setting made it feel heavier than a typical thriller. Mercy is complicated and easy to connect with because she is flawed and just trying to survive. It makes you think about how people act when desperate and who can be trusted. The pacing pushed me to keep reading since every chapter ended with tension. It is about surviving mentally as much as physically. Overall, it was dark, fast, and thought-provoking, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers with real emotion.

Kate Alice Marshall proved once again that she knows how to write a book. The characters are complex and their story arcs are very well done. There is a setup portion that flew by because of her expertise in storytelling. Overall, this book was a fun read and the twists kept me reading for more.

This one didn't disappoint. It's a high-stakes, fast-paced ride about a reality survival show that turns deadly. The plot follows Mercedes Gray and seven other contestants, all real-life disaster survivors, who are competing for a massive cash prize. But when they arrive, they're trapped on an empty set, and the game becomes a fight for their lives after one of them dies.
The book is addictive, with a plot full of great twists. What really stood out to me was the characters. Survival thrillers often have shallow characters you don't care about, but that's not the case here. I was invested in all of them and their compelling backstories. The story's isolated setting and slasher-like vibe create a tense atmosphere that kept me on the edge of my seat. It's a bingeable read from start to finish, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery with a psychological twist.

This was such a great book! I love a good mystery and this one was fantastic. In this, we follow Mercy Gray, who saved a bunch of people's lives in a mall shooting a few years ago. But because of that she's got a lot of medical debt. So she jumps at the chance to go on a reality TV survival show that has a huge cash prize. But of course, things go wrong.
I loved this! The writing was very well-paced, and the story moved along at a great clip. The characters were well-developed, and they had great backstories. If you've read a ton of mysteries, this might be a little formulaic for you, but I still really enjoyed it, even though I guessed a few of the twists.

Fun setting, fast-paced story that had me hooked until the very end. I love reality-based shows where the contestants are getting picked off (I justify this bloodlust with the fact that they’re there because they’re greedy, wondering who is behind it and not knowing who to trust as they battle to survive. The ending was surprising and I didn’t see it coming; it wrapped everything up nicely. A great way to pass the afternoon
