Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC!
As soon as I saw it was about a time loop, I was all in—I love anything related to time!
Imagine eating dumplings, then waking up to the same day again... But the main character doesn’t even need to imagine it.
I liked that the heroine wasn’t stuck alone; it's not just about romance but also touches on friendship and family.
The characters were likable, with more of the story told from the heroine’s perspective, but we do get a bit from the guy's side too.
I appreciated that the heroine remembered to check in on others and reached out instead of just wallowing in her own issues.
Honestly, part of me wishes I could be stuck in a time loop with someone, but I felt so bad for the heroine. The fear of being trapped forever, missing out on family growing up, and the guy not remembering her every time just hit hard.
It was a nice read—sometimes funny, sometimes sad—about the value of life and the need to take a pause.
P.S. There was so much food in this book; I was drooling the entire time!
⭐️3.5/5

This was in fact cute! I love a little magical realism! And a time loop really makes you appreciate the small things, the usual everyday things! I honestly flew through this! It was both a complicated read because of the time loop! But also such an easy read! It was paced well, and Noelle had so much going on that it was never boring even as she was reliving the same day! I really liked that she was able to find a friend, and that she and Avery stayed friends!!
And Noelle and Cam were honestly perfect?? Their initial love story was so unconventional and weird and a little heartbreaking to watch. But the fact that it worked out? That he believed her every single time she said she was living in a time loop, and then again when she told him in the present?? They were really SO GOOD!
Thanks to Atria for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Honestly, it was just meh. Not great, not bad. Just meh. I wanted to like this one, but it fell flat. Sigh.

I have read a few different time loop books, and this is one of my favorites! I loved how Noelle and Avery had each other through this, and how we were able to see the similarities and differences in how they handled the experience. Their journey was fun to read, and now I am craving dumplings!
Recommend for people that like time loops, Groundhog Day, and reading about all the delicious beer and food.

Could you imagine reliving every Friday and A man who doesn't remember you?! heartbreaking right !
this story is A great time loop trope. I loved that the friendship was A big part of it, and we got to see cams pov throughout the story.
Overall, it was A really cute story. this was A comfort read and it defitinitely made me grab the tissue box
loved it and would reread !

Time Loops & Meet Cutes was such an exciting read. As someone who typically detests the time loop trope, this was quite enjoyable and was a fresh start to the genre. However, while I enjoyed the book, there were more interesting aspects aside from the romance that should have been explored, such as a particular other character, her family relations, and her job. I found our characters endearing and exciting to read about, elevating the book's experience. Thank you, NetGalley and Atria/Emily Bestler Books, for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. As always, my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Noelle Tom was convinced to eat the dumplings at the night market but she isn't sure she should have. She is now experining Ground Hog day and it seems like Monday will never come.

This book made me subject all of my friends to the question - what would you do if someone came up to you and said they were stuck in a time loop?? would you help them???
Very fun, sweet, charming book. Great food and a fun romance :)
Thank you Atria Books for the ARC via Netgalley!

Time Loops & Meet Cutes was perfect for those of us who may not have a favorite genre or tend to bounce around -it had everything! From romance, a little spice, some sci-fi, and even a twist at the end! I enjoyed the development of characters and the ending was a perfect bow for a (truly) meet cute!

Noelle has found herself in a rut working in the same job that doesn’t appreciate her, living in the same apartment, doing the same thing day after day. All of this changes by chance when she visits a night market and an order of dumplings has her repeating June 20th over and over again. At first she panics until she meets Avery who is also stuck in the loop. Together they attempt all sorts of things to try to escape the loop. Noelle is convinced that a first kiss with a very handsome stranger, Cam, will change it but when they keep repeating June 20th Cam becomes more than a stranger to Noelle. Can they escape the time loop?
This was really cute. I’m a huge fan of Jackie’s books for a lot of reasons. Her main characters always have a great set of friends or family members to support them. This one is no different. Avery is the best friend you hope you wind up with when you can’t escape a time loop. Like Jackie’s other books food is a huge part of it and I found myself longing to be walking in a night market during summer eating dumplings, poutine, and all sorts of yummy desserts. I really loved the dynamic between our main characters and the journey they go on that’s filled with so much trust and faith in each other. What a treat of a book.

Time Loops & Meet Cute was a really sweet story about friendship and doing what you need to do most. I honestly loved how much is focused on friendship. Noelle gets stuck in a time loop after eating a dumpling and has no idea how to get out. She starts feeling really hopeless then she meets Avery who is also stuck in the time loop. Together they work to find a way out of the loop and form a friendship. Noelle also meets Cam and then she runs into him other places too.. I really enjoyed this story!

This was a fun read with a unique twist on time loops. Now, I haven't read a lot of books with time loops but I've seen plenty of movies/shows with it to know how they typically work. I thought Lau's was different and made the story not feel repetitive.
Noelle is in a time loop and it's up to her to find her way out of it. I liked Noelle's approach to breaking the time loop and that she actually applied the scientific method lol. She was a very likeable character that was easy to root for.
The romance here was so sweet. I really liked Cam. He was such a sweetie. Him and Noelle had great chemistry too which was needed since they re-meet multiple times throughout the book. Each time has to feel special while also not feeling like we are reading the same scene over and over again. Cam's charm really helped in that regard. The romance is a well-paced slow burn with some steamy scenes.
Very enjoyable, especially if you're a fan of romcom magical realism.

Fair warning, I love all of Jackie Lau's books A LOT. I love this book as well, no surprise there.
Time Loop books at this point are always going to have at least one twist, so I figured that was the presence of another person in the loop--very interesting, how do they both balance changing their life, etc. I was not expecting the ending, though! or the essential alternate timeline person who lived their lives in the meantime.

Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for providing me with this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Times Loops and Meet Cutes is a time loop romance, combining the charm of Groundhog Day with the romantic memory premise of 50 First Dates. The novel follows Noelle Tom, a workaholic engineer trapped in a recurring Friday, triggered by a mysterious dumpling from a night market food stall. Though the writing and dialogue felt a bit stilted and stiff, I thought this was an incredibly cute story overall. Noelle's personal growth was developed well and I enjoyed seeing her go out of her comfort zone in the various iterations of June 20th. I also loved seeing her relationships with both Cam and Avery grow throughout the story.
A charming read for fans of time loop narratives and romantic comedies, Time Loops and Meet Cutes offers a light-hearted and imaginative exploration of love, personal growth, and unexpected connections.

it took me a minute to get into this book. the idea of Groundshog day seems over played. However, it managed to take it a step farther than other things I have seen. it is kinda interesting to think about what would I do like spend money or travel day trips, knowing that it would restart with no consequences. I can understand Avery's situation of being on her period for that full 7 months. I had a period from hell once that lasted 6 months so I understand how that could feel.
I do wish we had more of an understanding of what was happening from the grandma's point of view. but it ended up being sweet that she knew what she wanted to happen. or what if we got the dad's reaction to the fact that his mother put someone in a timeloop again.
I dont have my post plan made for May yet, but I do plan to share this title near publication date in Early May on my instagram at www.instagram.com/robinashleyreads.

This is my first Jackie Lau book, and will now not be my last! I absolutely fell in love with this story and the dynamics that Jackie was able to create with such a unique story! I adore Cam and Noelle so much, the way that their love is just meant to withstand so many attempts is just perfection! I am obsessed!

🥟 I drooled the entire time I read this book. 🍜🥮🧋
I’d consider this easy reading and a feel-good story. ➰ This is a fresh take on a familiar trope: the time loop! With some spicy scenes 🌶️🌶️
Noelle and Cam keep meeting and re-meeting after Noelle eats some dumplings 🥟 from the local night market.
Noelle tries to rigorously hack her way out of the time loop, testing her theories scientific method style.
Cam is such a sweetie pie. Who can resist a karaoke-loving brewery owner who was front man to an Asian Matchbox 20 cover band?!
The ending was neatly wrapped up with a cherry on top. 🍒
🥮🥟🍜 Recommended if you love food in books, time loops, and slow-burn spicy romance.

3.5 rounded down to 3
Time Loops & Meet Cutes is one of those rare books where the cover and title perfectly matches the story. I so wanted to fall head over heels with this book, but it couldn't quite do that. Is it cute? Yes. It is funny? Yes. Is it somehow relatable despite it's crazy premise? Yes. Did it struggle with pacing and have a hastily tacked on ending? Also yes.
I loved Noelle and Cam and was really rooting for her to get it right. But (keeping the plot progression how it currently is), this would have worked much better as a novella. For it to work as a full length novel, the pacing really needs to change. The time Noelle spent in the time loop really dragged after a while. And then not enough time was given to the big reveal (which was so meaningful). I wish that had been explored more and celebrated.
Overall, it wasn't a bad book. Just one I would love to do developmental edits on.

Time Loops & Meet Cutes is a story of girl meets boy, again and again. It feels a bit like “Groundhog Day” meets a romcom and I loved every page.
Noelle and Cam continue to meet as Noelle is stuck reliving June 20 over and over. I adored the way Noelle slowly came out of her shell and grew into a more confident and self aware person. Avery was a great addition to the plot, as a fellow time looper and I loved how they both found in each other something they were needing. As for Cam, he is the classic leading man, I loved hearing the story from both perspectives.
Jackie Lau knocked this one out of the park, with well developed, lovable characters that make you wish you were right in the story!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the ARC, all opinions are my own.

Absolutely fabulous. I admit, I was a little skeptical when I discovered that it was a time loops story told in dual POV with only one of the people caught in the loop. I should have known to trust Jackie. She's an excellent story teller, and I get excited every time a new book of hers comes out.
