I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've read a few time loop stories and I love how different this one was. I loved how Noelle wasn't alone in the time loop and met Avery and found that close friend that she needed. I loved all the first dates that Noelle and Cam go on, they're adorable together. But I can only imagine how much it would truly suck for him to forget her after every day.

I was also a HUGE fan of the amount of book left after they get out of the time loop. I won't say much else for spoiler reasons but in all of the other books I've read with this idea you basically have just an epilogue right after so I was so happy that wasn't what happened here.

I think I have to first say that I really like time travel in my books. So I was sold on this from the start. I read the title and I immediately downloaded. I’m a huge fan of Jackie Lau’s books. She’s consistently one of my go to authors. She does a great job with romance and diverse representation. I really liked the female MC in this book and enjoyed the romance. I thought the pacing was especially good and even though it was a suspension of disbelief to have time travel I thought she made it all work.

Thank you, Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed the last book by this author and I was curious to see how she handles the time loop trope.

I liked how the main character learned to relax and try new things. She was bold when she needed to and empathic when it was appropriate. I was glad we got a few chapters from different points of view.

Overall a cute read and one that keeps you guessing in a fun way to the end.

Thanks to @netgalley and @atriabooks for the advanced reader copy.

Fun premise of time loops but didn’t exactly keep me hooked. This was a cute story but I felt like it was a bit too repetitive.

This is a complicated review for me. I hate time travel books. And I downloaded this to my Kindle based on the authors name alone, I very much loved her last book. Then when I went to read it I saw it was a time loop book. I usually hate those types of books. It's like groundhog day, the movie, in a romance. And I admit, this time I was getting anxious, how was she going to get out of her time loop? Why is it taking so long?

But at the same time, I was invested. I couldn't wait to see what happened the next day. I flew through this book. As the last, the writing was beautiful, the characters were special, I loved Noelle and Cam, both apart and together. I loved the families, the friends, the setting. I loved it all. But I hate time travel books so I didn't know why!

Long story short, this one is worth it. I can't give it five stars just because of the time loop, but it's close as a time loop book is ever going to come. So kudos Jackie Lau, you made me love it despite all odds. I can't wait until your next book!

This is basically the ideal rom com. It was cute and fun and made me so happy to read. The time loop element didn’t operate at all how I thought it would, but in a way I liked, and I thought the way the story handled time travel was really well done. The MMC was maybe a bit too chill? But it worked with the story, and I think this couple would really work well together. All in all, I’d recommend this every time.

Thank you, Atria Books for sending this one my way.

Read if you 💕:
• 🥟 Magical Dumplings
• 💙 Romances that are meant to be
• 🧠 Mental Health and AAPI Representation
• ⏰ Second chances (and third, and fourth, and fifth…)

It’s starting to become a pattern that I start my month with a five-star read, and I’m more than okay with that!

Noelle and Cam have such natural chemistry—their flirty banter and sweet moments had me fully invested. I especially loved watching Noelle grow into someone more confident, open, and willing to take risks, both in love and in life. Watching the friendship between her and Avery blossom was a reminder that those relationships are important to have in our lives too.

What makes this novel truly irresistible is how Jackie Lau keeps things feeling fresh and full of heart despite the plot having to repeat the same day. She really had me guessing until the very end!

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 & 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 is a charming, quietly powerful reminder that sometimes what we need most is a second (or third... or hundredth) chance to slow down and choose joy. Be sure to grab a copy of this heartwarming read at your local bookstore when it comes out tomorrow, May 6th!

If you gave Groundhog Day a dumpling craving, a dreamy love interest, and a fiercely relatable heroine battling burnout, you’d get Time Loops & Meet Cutes. Jackie Lau has once again written a rom-com that feels both wildly whimsical and deeply grounded in emotion. Why I Loved It:
This book is tender, hilarious, and full of heart. Noelle’s inner voice is sharp, sarcastic, and painfully real for anyone who’s ever run on empty while pretending to have it all together. Her arc is about more than romance—it's about rest, reflection, and what happens when we finally step outside our routine and let ourselves feel. Cam? Book boyfriend material. Kind, attentive, vulnerable—and with just enough mystery to keep you hooked.

I'll be honest: if it weren't for the time loop angle, I probably would not have finished this book.

I applaud the author for tackling the topic of generational/inherited trauma and how it shapes us! I wish more books would explore that. Like Noelle, I want more answers but also like Noelle, I accept that there's only so much information people want to share. Adding in the power an importance of friendship and I thought this would be a beautiful, poignant, funny story. But for everything Noelle goes through and all the deep topics the narrative touches on, the stakes are pretty low. The first half of the book was boring. While that might be the point, I wouldn't have been as bothered by it if the characters were stronger.

The characterizations lack the depth and nuance I wanted and the dialogue is awkward. Some issues seem to resolve too quickly. Other moments feel forced. I love that Noelle had Avery to ride through the loop with but their relationship felt more like trauma-bonding than a true friendship. The romance between Noelle and Cam, too, felt weird. Some of Cam's choices seemed out of character, given she's a stranger to him. I think a lot of this could have been alleviated if the magical realism thread was woven into their interactions sooner.

Towards the end, Cam's voice started to sound like Noelle's from a narrative standpoint. I had to stop and look up whose PoV I was reading at one point because they sounded so similar.

End story: I love anything with time travel or time loops and this was a pretty unique take so I enjoyed it. But it didn't make a lasting impact and I skimmed parts to keep the momentum.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Atria, and the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a delightful romantic comedy that takes the classic time loop trope and adds a fresh, heartfelt twist. Noelle Tom, a workaholic engineer, finds herself reliving the same Friday over and over after eating magical dumplings at a night market. Each day resets, erasing her progress and leaving her stuck in an endless loop. The only constant? Cam, a charming brewery owner who appears in various places throughout her day—though he never remembers her.

As Noelle navigates the repetitive cycle, she forms a budding connection with Cam, leading to sweet and often humorous interactions. The story delves into themes of self-discovery, the importance of living in the moment, and the complexities of love. Lau's writing is witty and engaging, making this a perfect pick for readers seeking a romantic tale with a touch of magic and a lot of heart. Fans of romantic comedies with a unique twist will find Time Loops & Meet Cutes to be a charming and enjoyable read.

I adore when a romcom dares to get a little weird in the best way — and this one blends magical realism with heartfelt emotion and just the right amount of spice. The story follows a woman stuck in a Groundhog Day-style time loop, reliving the same day over and over… but there’s a twist: she finds another woman going through the same loop as her. It was so fun to see the risks both her and her stranger-to-friend started to take, the unexpected outcomes, and a swoony, slow-building connection with a dreamy MMC.

There’s something so endearing about watching the FMC and MMC's relationship reset and evolve, especially through all the awkward meet-cutes, stolen moments, and spicy surprises. The enchanted food element adds a whimsical charm, but the emotional beats are what really got me. It’s a story about timing, fate, and learning to let go of control to find something real, all wrapped in a cozy, creative, and steamy package.

If you love romances with a magical twist, emotional growth, and a little spice, definitely give this one a read.

I love the time loop trope in any form. This one is done really well! The characters were so well developed. I do think maybe the loop went on longer than I would like. I enjoyed seeing all the iterations, but it got far too repetitive that I really felt Avery's sense of dread. Which I guess that's kind of the point of these books, but the loop went on too long that it just got boring after the first 80 days. After she got out of the loop, it somehow felt like more of the same. We got answers, but I still felt incomplete.

Despite this, I think it's a great read! It was fun for the most part. The friendship between Noelle and Avery was super nice to watch grow. The relationship between the MCs was super cute in the loop, outside the loop was less so but still enjoyable. The writing was really good as well, it was hard to put down!

💬 Wow, this book just blew me away...Like even though I had to stop a few times to deal with real life, I read this book in one day it was so good!

It definitely has similarities to the Groundhog Day movie, but it's so much better than that. It's raw and emotional, and very thought-provoking. I mean the movie was silly and fun, but I never really thought past the basic plot with that. But this story really made me think about just how much that kind of experience could effect/change someone.

Idk I have to keep it a little vague to not give away the quad. Hopefully that makes sense lol.

The romance with Cam was just... perfect. I don't really know how else to describe it other than perfection. I loved their silly banter, and joking back and forth.

I also really loved Avery and how they built a friendship/support system in the midst of being stuck in a time loop. There's really something to be said for a being able to share a history with someone.

I definitely recommend this book to people who loved Groundhog Day, 50 First Dates, and sweet, heartfelt stories.

Magical realism??? Groundhogs day vibes?? 50 first date vibes too??? Yep yep yep sign me up! I was intrigued by the cover and the blurb and this did not disappoint.
What would you do if you had to keep repeating the same day over and over and over again? To be honest, I would probably hate it and go a bit crazy 😅 our FMC handles it pretty well. Luckily she has someone else along with her that knows how it feels because they are dealing with the same thing!
Check this out if you’re looking for something different!!

An entertaining take on the time loop trope with a likable heroine and an intriguing premise. The romance unfolds in a fun, quirky way, but the repetitive nature of the time loop can feel a bit drawn out at times. Still, the emotional payoff is worth it.

Synopsis: On June 20th, Noelle upends her mundane routine and heads to a night market where she purchases dumplings from an old woman who claims they will “give her what she needs most.” The next morning, Noelle is shocked to find it is June 20th again. And again. And again. While trying to escape the time loop, she meets the perfect man, but how can she get to know him when he forgets they ever met every day?

Thoughts: This was such a fun and unique take on the time loop trope! I loved how Noelle was stuck in the time loop but Cam was not and we got to see both of their perspectives. Their romance was very sweet and fun, but the highlight for me was Noelle’s resilience and optimism about her situation. It was also great to have a side character in the loop with Noelle to share her experiences, and I loved watching their friendship develop almost as much as the romance aspect.

When Noelle stops at an open air market on the way home from work one night, she has no idea that the plate of dumplings she eats will change her life. She finds herself stuck in a time loop, reliving June 20 over and over again. And then she meets Avery, another young woman also stuck in the time loop, and Cam, the handsome man who might be the key to getting her out, if he can just remember who she is tomorrow.

the premise of this story (a time loop that resets every day) is very interesting, and it reminded me a little bit of The Husbands by Holly Gramazio, as we get to see the FMC exploring life and taking risks without fearing the consequences. however, the resolution behind the time loop was a bit dissatisfying, because it was passive, and not something the FMC made happen.

the romance is very 50 First Dates coded, and i was here for it!

This is a solid time slip/time loop romance from Jackie Lau. I had a very flimsy theory as to why Noelle, the Female Main Character, was caught in the loop and I was on the right track but not quite right. For those that need an explanation, the author does provide a good reason so that was especially satisfying. Cam, our oblivious hero, gets the award for the fiction's most unflappable hero. He takes so many things in stride, including meeting the love of his life 100+ times. Be cautioned that the time loop goes on for far longer than Noelle and the reader expect but all in all a cute romance with a smattering of magical realism. 3.5 stars.
