Imagine waking up and reliving the same day repeatedly? It is much like Groundhog Day, but less chaotic.
Noelle Tom gets to go on a journey in this alternate universe. She meets Cam, a guy she thinks is the endgame (and the solution to everything that keeps repeating the day), and Avery, someone experiencing the same day along with Noelle. Avery and Noelle develop a sincere friendship. Each day gets increasingly tedious, until Noelle decides to switch things up. But if she continues to switch things up, will she ruin her time and possibility of being with Cam?

While I had a wonderful time with the story, I felt like there could’ve been less repetition in the first part. I understand that there was a point to it, but as a reader, it made me want to read this on faster and move on.

Thank you to Atria, the author, and NetGalley for the early ARC.

Huge thank you to the author & publisher for sending me an EARC. Super cute, time loop magical realism story! I haven’t read any time loop stories quite like this! I loved Avery & Noelle’s friendship and her connection with Cam. I really loved the way this story tied up and came full circle in the end. Made me very hungry for some dumplings, highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this book. The turmoil that she went through, trying to figure out how to not only keep herself but also Avery sane while also falling in love over and over again... beautiful story.

I wanted so badly to love this book. The idea is sweet and it had so much potential. However, somewhere in the middle, it started to really drag on. The repeated days didn’t do anything to push the story ahead and it was poorly paced. I gave it 3 stars because I liked the ending, but it was really hard to get through.

i liked this book a lot! Made me wish I was living a day on repeat in Toronto, because this one ends so well.

Have you ever wanted to go back and relive the perfect day? Or have you ever wanted to go back and redo a day you wish you could change? What if you could? Would you want to relive that same day - over and over again?

“I've lived June 20 so many times before, yet this has never happened. It's amazing how many possibilities there are in a single day.”

Time Loops & Meet Cutes is just that. Noelle is stuck in a loop of Friday June 20th for what seems like forever. She doesn’t know why she is there, outside of the vague statement she received from a stranger, and tries her hardest to figure out a way out of the loop. But there are some good things she discovers about herself and about what she needs in life if she ever makes it to June 21st.

Thank you Atria for this eARC copy to read and review. This is the first book I have read by Jackie Lau, but I enjoyed it so I will definitely be looking into her backlist to see some of her others. Time Loops & Meet Cutes is out now!

Repetition is avoidable in a time loop plot line but this one was, unfortunately, didn’t hold my attention. I didn’t really buy the chemistry between the main characters and found their conversations stilted and awkward. I didn’t even really understand the female friendship and it also read as awkward.

And we don’t ever really find out why the main character is stuck in the time loop in the first place. We know who caused but not why that person caused it.

I’ve read a lot of reviews that were very positive so obviously something is resonating with other readers but this one didn’t work for me.

INCREDIBLE. I've read a lot of time loop stories/ watched a lot of them and this is by far the best one I've read. It was so heartwarming and genuine. I loved how Avery and Noelle became friends because of the loop. I also like how it wasn't really explained why they were stuck in the loop! I appreciate that they didn't exit the time loop simply because they came to some big life revelation either. Not everything has to come to a conclusion in some big way. I appreciated the fact that I could see Noelle and Cam fall in love in real time through the second half. It wouldn't have been the same otherwise if Noelle exited the loop and then went to go see Cam again and it ends there. I think this book is perfect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Time Loops & Meet Cutes by Jackie Lau

This charming magical‑realism rom‑com had me smiling from day one, on the same day. Noelle gets stuck reliving June 20 in Toronto after eating magical dumplings, and each loop brings fresh “meet‑cutes” with charming brewery owner Cam. Their chemistry is sweet, slow‑burn, and refreshingly fun.

I loved how the time loop gives Noelle space to grow, trying new things, exploring her city, making a friendship with fellow looper Avery, and rediscovering what she really wants in life. Jackie Lau handles the repetitive day brilliantly, weaving in humor and genuine emotional beats so that each reset feels purposeful.

Why 4 stars?
•✨ Adorable, inventive premise with heartfelt growth
•😊 Strong found‑family vibe through Noelle, Cam, and Avery

Overall, Time Loops & Meet Cutes is a feel‑good, thoughtful twist on a time‑loop romance. Cozy, clever, and full of heart, definitely one I’ll remember

I'm normally not a fan of books with a time-loop but this one made me reconsider. This book created suspense and I was constantly wondering if they would or wouldn't get together. I think I had 3.5 heart attacks while reading this. This is a good recommendation for anyone looking for a quick, fun love story!

I almost DNFd this book but I decided to power through to the end. The first part of the book took me a bit to get into. Especially when when Noelle continued to do the same things over and over. When she found another person stuck in the time loop with her, Avery, things began to get interesting. She developed a true friendship with someone else and strategized together on ways to get out of the loop. Then there was Cam, who felt a sense of deja vu around Noelle and the things they did, but couldn't recall in real time that they actually met before. I felt like Noelle was as interesting as a bag of rocks in the beginning (that was harsh...yikes!). Maybe it was because she continued to do the same things over and over. It wasn't until she tried doing different things and changed up her routine in the loop that I began to tolerate and then like her. I don't tend to like books with magical realism, but after a while I became invested on Noelle and Avery getting out of the loop. I also powered through to see how Noelle and Cam ended up together.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

A time loop romance!!!!! WHERE has this book been all my life?!

This story was so sweet and endearing. Sometimes even punch to the gut *cries*

Highly recommend for fellow contemporary romance readers that need a little dose of magic without going full fantasy!

Absolutely loved! I told multiple people about this one while I was reading it (and not just those actually in the room while I read who had to put up with me laughing, snickering, and gasping out loud as I did) so you know I must have really liked it :)

The first half had me LOLing so much, the ending made me tear up more than once, and in between I was SO DARN HUNGRY--must be a Jackie Lau book! (V. glad I don't actually drink much alcohol--or any beer at all--because I'm sure I would have been craving that too ;) )

Time Loops and Meet Cutes was a fun take on time loop stories, and it constantly kept me guessing about what was going on. The random chapters from Cam's POV in between Noelle's many, many, MANY iterations of June 20 especially gave me so. Many. Questions. Ms Lau did a nice job of bringing everything together at the end, giving the characters (and the readers) just enough ah ha! moments to fill in the blanks without hitting us over the head with explanations. (view spoiler)

The ending was like a warm hug, and had me smiling through my tears. Here's hoping Ms Lau gives us more magical realism in the future--I'm here for it!

On a side note: while I *love* that Noelle taught herself to crochet along the way, the idea that all her work on her projects went away every night that she was in the loop was almost more than I could take...brutal, Ms Lau, just brutal. Is it worse than Ashley's seven months of her period? MAYBE.

This book takes a common movie trope and plays it out in story form. Kinda love the concept and how things connect/unfold. Definitely recommend, especially if you are a fan of sci-fi

The title of this book really drew me in, and it was really great. I love the premise of this book, repeating the day, changing things as you go, learning even more each day. Throw in the romance, and I loved it.

3.5 stars 🌟🌟🌟✨

This book is intriguing, captivating, and compelling. I went into this book thinking it was just going to be a time travel book but I like this one more than a previous one I’ve read. Repeating the same day over and over did feel repetitive but that was what I expected going into a time loop plot line. But this isn’t to take away from anything, the plot of the story was so good! One of my favorite things about the book was how the characters interacted with each other during the time loop in an attempt to get out of the loop.

The story never felt to heavy to me, in fact it was the exact opposite! Cute, lighthearted, easy to understand, everything you want in a book! I’m currently in a reading slump and that may have affected how I read the book and my rating but I would recommend this to all my friends because it’s just too cute!

Thank you Netgalley and Atria Books for the chance to read this e-arc!

Wowed me from beginning to end. Fun, romantic, humorous, and so entertaining!

This book really surprised me—in the best way. I’ve never read a time travel romance with dual POV, and it was a nice twist! The author executed it in a truly original way that kept me hooked.

At first, Noelle felt a little too quirky for my taste, but by the halfway point, she luckily redeemed herself. Once she started to stand up for herself, I was finally able to admire her as a character and even found her to be much more relatable. Cam, while a little bit bland, still had charming qualities that I admittedly swooned over. As a couple, I was unsure how to feel about them, but they did grow on me way later on! Their dynamic was fun and fascinating—it was unique, not a typical love story.

One of my favorite things about this was Noelle’s chance encounter with Avery! The way their friendship formed was both unexpected and heartwarming. Their bond added much more depth to the story.

Truthfully, there wasn’t enough buildup for the plot, and I feel like it was dragged out for wayyy too long. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy this read, but it definitely had its flaws.

Time Loops & Meet Cutes is like reading Groundhog Day is Bill Murray was an uptight Canadian mechanical engineer who ate magical dumplings. Not even joking. Once you accept the parameters of the plot, the real magic in this story is in the freedom Noelle finds. Sure, she finds love, but mostly she sets herself free. This was a fun read.

We all have moments where we wish we could live a day again. Maybe the wish is to change some embarrassing thing we did or to enjoy a happy moment with someone special. What would you do if you were to repeat the same day over and over?

In this story, Noelle is trapped on June 20th without her knowledge or consent. She tries everything she can think of to get out of the time loop, but nothing seems to work.

The book was enjoyable when she started to relax and let herself try things she never would have before. It got me thinking about what I would do if the day reset with a fresh start and no consequences. However, the advantage is also a downfall as nobody remembers her or anything she has done.

How did this happen? Will she get out? What will be waiting on the other side if she does? It was a really fun story, even though any time loop storyline comes with a bit of a slow-moving plot and a bit of redundancy. Very cute rom-com summer read.

Time Loops and Meet Cute was a fun rom-com about time loops from Jackie Lau. I actually really enjoyed following Noelle's journey to get out of the loop. I did thing the solve was interesting and unexpected but had not considered how draining being stuck in a time loop would be. Also I want more Avery content!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!
