This book was so fun! I was thankful for the opportunity to read an advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Rosie makes the decision to start over again in Amsterdam, with a flower shop at a market. Competition can add some stress with your own business, and it really adds to the story! This was such a fun and relatively quick read, and I really liked Rosie a lot! I cant wait to read the next book, because this is going to be a series!

Thanks for NetGalley for an advance copy.
Rosie decides to move to Amsterdam to try and make a new life owning a flower shop. Rosie rents a houseboat next door to a grumpy neighbor. The story was sweet and Amsterdam sounds amazing, I want to book a trip to see all the sights.
Rosie is an enjoyable main character and her friends were so much fun. It was nice sweet summer read. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Rosie's mother, a botanist, died when Rosie was a girl, but she still misses her mother dearly. Rosie has continued her mother's love for flowers and plants. She hasn't had any real love experience and she's been in dead-end jobs for her whole "career." But she's completed training as a florist, she's been taking lessons in Dutch, and she yearns to have a flower shop at the floating floral market in Amsterdam. So she leaves her sister and father in England and moves to Amsterdam. She finds a run-down houseboat to live on and has to learn the ropes to get even the smallest of small available shops in the market. She's an upbeat type of person, makes friends easily, and she's a loyal friend and longs to contribute to her new community.
However, there are two very grumpy men that she needs to deal with. The man on the neighboring boat keeps to himself and sometimes complains about her joyful singing and talking to herself. Another man, with multiple employees and a large shop at the market is downright nasty to her and others. He's actually like to put her out of business.
But with Rosie's personality, and her willingness to help others, she makes inroads with both.
This is a clean romance and it's a great book emphasizing working hard, helping others, and trying very hard to keep a positive attitude, no matter what life throws at you.
This is the first book by the author that I've read and I enjoyed it very much.

Great setting and interesting plot. Loved the cover and the idea of a houseboat. I really really wanted to love this but I just couldn’t like Rosie. Her impulsiveness wasn’t cute it was arrogant when she then felt entitled to help - getting a flower stall, mending a boat etc.. and for someone who didn’t want to dwell on losing her mother twenty years ago, she didn’t miss an opportunity to keep on and on about it. I usually root for the heroine against adversity but here I felt a lack of sympathy.

I enjoyed reading The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop by Annabel French. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

Rosie's fun, impulsive and seeking a serious hit of dopamine after a run of boring dead-end jobs. Scrolling Instagram, she comes across the floating market in Amsterdam and decides on a whim to leave her home and move to Amsterdam to set up her own flower stall. I admire anyone who is able to uproot their life in an instant to seek happiness!
A short while later, she's in Amsterdam, on her rented houseboat and ready to start her new life!
Cue her grumpy, yet intrguing neighbour Max, who seems to swoop in just when she needs him, making her rethink her take on swearing off relationships.
As she settles into her new life, she makes new friends including fellow stallholder Emma, and enemies in rival flower seller Finn.
I loved Rosie's positive attitude and her approach to life, seeing the bright side in everything, and I found it really inspiring!

As someone whose personal love story also took place in the Netherlands, I absolutely adore reading similar stories in a setting that is incredibly special to me. This is a lovely, easy read book and a lovely little palette cleanser after reading heavy books. I’m a sucker for grumpy x sunshine, so this was exceptionally enjoyable to read. This book is definitely a lighthearted, quick read, and very fun.

I love Annabel French's books and feel this one is the best I have read. Wonderful narratives, lovely setting and descriptions. Highly recommend.

This was a sweet, honestly low stakes, read and heavy on friendships which helped put my mind which is constantly running on high speed at a steady pace. The optimism Rosie had was something I needed to read about in the moment, when life is so uncertain, that’s when you need to take the risks towards a happier version of yourself. No one is going to live your life for you. Also, how she was able to pick herself up and take on the challenges of new language and community members not always on her side while never losing that touch of kindness is a reminder many of us need to hear. But I felt like she didn’t have a lot of depth to her character, so it was hard to take her seriously. I loved the way that Amsterdam was shown off in this! As someone who has visited before, I felt like the bright and friendly atmosphere really came to life through the bloemenmarkt and the houseboats and canals. The charm of a European city helped make this a great spring/summer read!

what a perfect summer read! Rosie's journey to making her floating flower shop come true, finding love, creating community all while adjusting to life in a new country and learning a new language unfolds in this page turning from com. I wanted to visit all the places in the book, especially Linny's Garden. Grab yourself a Stroopwaffle and treat yourself to 2 things as you read through this adorable read.
Thank you NetGalley, Annabel French and Avon books UK for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop was a great book that gave me everything I want in a book. This is book 1 of the Floating Shop series.
Rosie and Max were written in such a way that I felt like I had known them for years. After reading this book I now want to go to a floating flower shop.
Thank you NetGalley, Annabel French and Avon Books UK for the copy of The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop. This is my personal review

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Rosie, isn’t happy in the job she’s doing. Having done a course on floristry, she loves anything to do with flowers, and plants.
Rosie makes a decision to leave everything behind and go live on a boat in Amsterdam, hoping that she can turn her passion into selling flowers at the flower market.
But, when she arrives at her boat, it isn’t exactly as she hoped it would be. It’s not been taken care of for a long time, but she won’t let that stop her from doing what she’s come for. When she meets her neighbour, he isn’t a happy bunny either, Max, an artist and Rosie tries to get him to talk to her, but the conversation doesn’t last long.
When she does get the stall at the market, there’s further problems and Rosie contemplates going back home. Will Rosie’s dream come true, or will it all be too much for her?
I loved the characters and the vendors at the market. I couldn’t put this book down.
I highly recommend this book.

This was a lovely read. I was really taken with the idea of a floating flower market and was keen to learn more. Rosie took a huge step to move to Amsterdam and try to fulfil a dream. I loved all the descriptions of the market, the flower stalls and the flowers, I loved her unique take on creating bunches of flowers for her customers, Amsterdam in flowers.
Rosie and Max’s friendship was nice to watch unfold. Rosie is a lovely person through and through and her positive attitude really shines through, creating some fantastic relationships, Max being one of them. Learning his story and seeing Rosie unconditionally support him was moving.
This was a great book to learn more about Amsterdam and flowers and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop is an inspiring and heartwarming story that transported me to the centre of such a beautiful city. As I journeyed through the chapters with Rosie and Max, the sights, sounds and fragrances felt so tangible - so much so, that this book has now put Amsterdam firmly on my list of places to travel to. My husband has even been pricing up flights after I told him about the floating flower market featured in this book!
I really loved all that The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop portrayed; not only showing the city in all its glory, but also the power of community, the importance of heritage, the strength of friendship and all that can be gained from taking a chance.
An uplifting story with a fabulous array of characters and a stunning book cover! I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Thank you to Avon Books UK for an advance digital copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ever wondering where your life is heading? Feeling lost, or simply have a dream of having a floating flowershop in Amsterdam. Well that’s what Rosie wants to do. How hard can it be? A.ong with an outdated rented house boat and a grumpy neighbour max, can she really do this!!
Loved reading this book. With a bit of determination anything is possible

What a perfect way to start your new venture than by changing everything around you, new business venture, new home and new country all on your own.
When Rosie chooses to emigrate to Amsterdam to rent a houseboat on the canal near one of the most beautiful locations with perfect attraction spots to discover including incredible architecture and food outlets, apart from not speaking much of the native language what could possibly go wrong?
Her landlord hands over the keys to her new home, a lovely little house boat called Forget-me-not and leaves her to settle in and explore the area.
Her neighbour is a grumpy good looking man called Max who seems short tempered and unsociable, has she made the right decision?
When she heads to the market on the pretext of renting a space for her flower stall, all seems lost until she meets the current tenant who agrees to vouch for her at the council so she should hopefully get the plot over the other contender.
As luck has it, she does win the plot and immediately starts to plan her pitch of sales to set herself apart from the other flower stalls in the vicinity.
After a few days things don’t seem to go quite to plan and it’s as if someone is trying to make her fail - is it a jealous stall holder?
Perseverance pays off and also the help from other vendors when things take a turn for the worst leaving her whole life choice in jeopardy.

This lighthearted read is guaranteed to brighten your day. With its easy-to-read style and colourful characters, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable book perfect for those who love a happy ending. It may be a bit too sweet for some, but just go with the flow and enjoy!
Thank you Netgalley

I received a free copy of, The Floating Amsterdam Flower Shop, by Annabel French, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book in The Floating Shop series. Rosie decides to start over in Amsterdam, with a flower shop at a market. Things are not always easy especially when their is competition. This place sounds beautiful, this was a good read, I liked Rosie. I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

This is a very sweet novel that takes place in Amsterdam and brings to life the flowers and scenery of such a great city. Rosie leaves London to move to Amsterdam and pursue her passion of opening a flower stall. She rents a run-down houseboat and her grumpy (and hunky) neighbor is Max who is a painter. A lot of folly ensures, and I was cheering on Rosie to achieve her business dreams and enjoyed the love story between Rosie and Max. A very happy ending!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for access to this eARC.

Read if you like:
- An immersive Amsterdam setting
- Flowers and art
- Cheesy characters
- Closed-door romance
Unsatisfied with her life in London, Rosie decides to move to Amsterdam and pursue her dream of being a floral vendor on the famous floating flower market.
I had to read this book when I saw it because Amsterdam was one of the cities I visited on my honeymoon and I absolutely fell in love with it! This book does a fantastic job of immersing the reader into Amsterdam and its culture, and I loved that aspect of it! Unfortunately I did find both the plot and the characters to be a little too cheesy for my personal taste. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a light read and doesn’t mind corny, closed-door romance. And of course, loves Amsterdam!
