This was a great read! It had a little mystery, a little humour and a little romance! A well thought out story of a librarian who was looking for love on a dating app, only to realize she was being scammed, and seeking justice for not only herself but others. Katherine paired up with Leo, a visitor to the library, in hopes of finding who was behind the face that she had fallen for on the app. Their adventures (and sometimes misadventures) lead them to the ending she was hoping for!

I really liked this book, it was a cute read with great characters. Kat works in a library and is trying to find her perfect man online, she has a date and can’t wait for it. Meanwhile Leo is at the library daily when Kat asks for his help. It’s a great topic in this story and I was good to read about it, it’s very common now and needs to be written about. Emily writes well and I enjoy reading her books. A 4.5 star read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Read Between the Lines is a cute romcom set in Oxford. Librarian Kat is not having a great experience with online dating, whilst Leo seems a bit lost, spending his days sitting in the library apparently working on a business plan. When Kat finds she has been a catfishing victim, she enlists ex-policeman Leo’s help with tracking down the scammer.
Kat and Leo are a cute enemies-to-lovers couple, but for me the secondary characters who are all library regulars are the star turn of this story.

This was a room com with a difference! Librarian Kat has had a spot of bad luck with online dating. Cue ex detective Leo to her rescue!
This was a slow burn with a page turny side plot that kept me hooked. The secondary characters were also brilliant, and I loved the community feel of the library.
The plot kept me guessing but I did figure out who was behind it!
Would recommend to readers who want more than a rom com and love a mystery!

What a wonderful five-star read. This was great, I loved the setting of Oxford, it’s not often that you see it used as the setting, and I don’t know why, as its such a beautiful place. I was so happy with the pace of this story, there was such gripping line that you can’t miss, I really enjoyed the whole thing, it left just enough to the imagination that you didn’t have it all laid out, and sometimes that’s the best way. It was so lovely seeing Leo reveal himself to Kat, it really won me over. I also surprised myself that I picked up on the not so perfect match when he slipped with the name, because Katherine Fisher just isn’t the same as Kat Fisher. This author is fast becoming a favourite of mine, and I’m sure they will become a favourite of yours also.

This was a fun read with a few bittersweet moments that kept the plot going smoothly, after being catfished Kat is spurred on to tackle whoever it was who toyed with her affections and all to try and scam her. Enter ex-police officer Leo who isn’t keen on helping and yet somehow their partnership to track down the messager gets off the ground. There is something quite lovely to read about two people who are ever so appealing in different ways dance around each other whilst they mind each other up and work out if they have to compromise or not. This is a lighthearted read that is great and well worth a good read.

Librarian Kat Fisher is a romantic at heart and thinks she’s found the one. After realizing she’s been cat fished Kat is determined to bring the scammer to justice.

Former police officer Leo Taylor is trying to decide his next steps following his departure from the force. Leo is not endearing himself to Kat by spreading his belongings around the library where she works and by his inability to keep his dirty shoes off the chairs. Leo’s joke about Kat’s name is the last straw. But Kat knows she’s going to need help to uncover the scammer and enlists Leo, a former detective, in her quest.

All the hearts! Read Between the Lines was such an enjoyable read and quite funny at times. I loved the chemistry and banter between Kat and Leo and going along on their adventures searching for the scammer. There are plenty of twists to keep you engaged and fabulous supporting characters.

I loved every minute of this fun storyline!

I started this book hopefully. I'm a librarian, one of the people Emily Kerr praises in her dedication, and this book uses a library setting. I presume we're in a non-local government library as there are so few rules and regulations (hurrah!). This made me jealous too of the staffing levels. Imagine a library entirely staffed by librarians; there's not a library assistant in sight! And at this point I sort of turned against the book for being unrealistic. There's no pleasing some people!

The basic premise of the book was fun - Kat (one of the librarians) and Leo (a library user) teamed up to try to unmask a fraudulent dating app user. Given the local nature of the dating app I could just about accept the possibility of tracking him down and I was prepared to buy into it. But it was so slow and so obvious. I've read other books by Emily Kerr and enjoyed them more.

5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Librarian Kat Fisher has just been cat fished and she is not in the mood to find it funny at all so when Leo, who was already in Kat’s bad books his inability to keep his dirty shoes off the chairs in the library makes the joke everyone was thinking Kat is ready to declare war. However, as Leo is a former detective she enlists him to help her uncover the identity of the scammer on her supposedly exclusive dating site.

What I loved in particular:
- the search for the scammer was so much fun,.
- Kat and Leo had such a cute relationship and great chemistry. I loved their Holmes and Watson dynamic.
- The supporting characters, particularly retired CEO turned smutty booktuber Doris.
- The twists and turns in the plot, I could not have guessed the identity of the scammer.

Read between the lines is so much fun! Emily Kerr writes really likeable and funny characters and I loved every minute with them.

Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this ARC.
