This was SUCH a good time omg I loved it. I had average expectations going in but it really exceeded that and more. I would find myself thinking about going back to this book any time I wasn’t reading. I loved the characters and the story and the setup.
Priscilla was litch the cutest button I swearrrr she’s adorable but also competent and really loveable. She did make some silly decisions which I ignored lmao. Her inner monologue was so comforting bc she’s an overthinker and I felt that on a deeper level 😭
Oliver had me blushing twirling my hair biting my finger waiting with bated breath for what he would do next. Whenever he’d enter the scene I’d magically find the strength to blink back sleep and read one last chapter.
The only reason this isn’t a five is bc the reason for the misunderstanding was very blown out of proportion but it also wasn’t given enough importance when it came time to resolve the matter. I hoped she would mention her dad to Oliver and how the word triggers her but that never happened. It felt a little rushed. But that was the only thing that was the con of this book. Other than that I genuinely had the best time.

Okay, I have to admit...I ended up DNFing this one.
I found the main character very annoying, and the main male character didn't seem to have any admirable traits outside of 'he looks hot'. Priscilla was an irritating character to read - her main personality trait seemed to be 'obsessive', followed quickly by 'childish'. She apparently becomes obsessed with Oliver after first meeting him ages ago, even though she didn't know anything about him. After he finds out and makes light of it (I feel he didn't take it too seriously, even though he could be justifiably weirded out by being told someone he barely knows is obsessed with him), Priscilla decides he's like...the demon spawn or something. A bit extreme. Even Tina points out that Priscilla has an attitude in that she thinks 'everyone is rude', which frankly says more about her than anything else.
But then this is also the character who gets fired at the start of this book and childishly fights with her soon-to-be boss about...a tape dispenser? Because it's shaped like a shoe?
Priscilla doesn't redeem herself in the parts I read - if anything, her flaws are pointed out even more for me, and I had no interest in finding out whether she grows as a character. After deciding to start her own business, her best friend gives her a check for six figures. That's right, six figures for...doing nothing, so far. Let's not get started on Tina. Why were all these characters five-year-olds in adult bodies?
When Priscilla's dad rightly points out that she's renowned for basically being immature, obsessive, and not thinking things through, she does the adult version of sitting there with her arms crossed and pouting. But here's the kicker - he's right! She did not think about any actual business stuff (outside of taxes?) and didn't want to face the music when her dad pointed out what she needed to think about. Instead, she just decided they were being overbearing.
So yeah, I have no interest in reading about such an annoying character. I know others will love this, and that's great because every book should have readers and fans, but unfortunately, it's not me!

ARC Review: *The Proposal Project* by Donna Marchetti
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 sparkling, slow-burn stars)
The proposal might be fake—but the feelings? Absolutely real.
Donna Marchetti’s *The Proposal Project* is a swoony, spicy, laugh-out-loud romcom that serves up all your favorite tropes with a side of secret glances, fake dating shenanigans, and one very clueless planner falling for the last man she expected.
Priscilla Cain is a meticulous, type-A event planner determined to give her best friend the ultimate proposal experience. The only problem? The groom-to-be has plans of his own—and his broody best friend, Oliver, is now *her* co-conspirator. What begins as a secret alliance quickly becomes something way more complicated (and deliciously swoony) as sparks fly between two opposites who can’t seem to stay out of each other’s orbit… or bed.
From fake dating at pre-engagement parties to one bed mishaps and secretly soft MMC vibes, this book is pure romcom gold. The banter is fast and flirty, the tension is toe-curling, and Oliver? Yeah, he’s *obsessed* in the best possible way. No third-act breakup here—just all-in feelings, mutual pining, and a pitch-perfect happily ever after.
**Tropes You’ll Love:**
💍 Enemies to Lovers
💍 Fake Dating
💍 Forced Proximity
💍 One Bed
💍 Grumpy/Sunshine vibes
💍 Clueless Planner vs. Obsessed Architect
💍 Proposal shenanigans with a twist
If you’re looking for a spicy romcom with humor, heart, and serious "marry me already!" energy, *The Proposal Project* delivers in every way. A must-read for fans of Tessa Bailey, Lynn Painter, and anyone who loves a man who falls first—and hard.
*Thanks to One More Chapter, Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!*

This book was so fun, it would make a fabulous movie! I loved the premise of the proposals, and then then Priscilla and Oliver dinsinf their way. Thank you for the early read

If you're looking for a light, easy rom-com read then this book will check the boxes for you. I went into it in the mood for light rom-com, but for me, this wasn't my favorite trope within the genre (miscommunication). The FMC especially felt too immature for my liking. The surrounding characters were enjoyable enough and the story is predictable enough to be a comforting read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me the ARC!

How can two people be so perfect for each other? I absolutely adored Priscilla and Oliver's chemistry, banter, and interactions. The story starts off slow, but once Priscilla and Oliver gets mushed together, I couldn't put the book down. I loved the whole premise of them working together to plan a proposal for their best friends. This book is the perfect amount of lightheartedness, fluffiness, and silliness. The little moments between Priscilla and Oliver really had me giggling and cheesing hard. My favorite part of the story was everything that went down in the cabin. This would be such a perfect spring/summer read!

I really enjoyed this romance. It’s enemies to lovers, fake-dating and close-proximity done really well. It’s slow burn that is actual slow burn, the yearning and the tension between Priscilla and Oliver was really well done. I normally hate the miscommunication trope, but it was really well executed in this book! I enjoyed watching them both plan their best friend’s wedding, and the humour in this book. I loved how supportive Oliver was with her business and how he encouraged her ideas.
Such a fun rom-com with a cabin getaway and one-bed moment. It also has a playlist included, if that’s your thing. Highly recommend!
Thank you to One More Chapter for the ARC received via Netgalley.

Thanks NetGalley for this ARC.
I really enjoyed Hate Mail so I was excited to read this book next! I love a fake dating story & enemies to lovers. It was predictable (clear that Tina knew they were faking it, the bench, etc) but I still really enjoyed it and was hooked the whole time. I flew through it! There was a good amount of spice, & not at all cringy as I sometimes feel when writers use certain words, unrealistic scenes, etc. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Donna Marchetti and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for allowing me the chance to read this book ahead of release day! any book that starts off with a playlist immediate catches my attention! Did I immediately go and create the Spotify playlist to listen to it while reading? Yes, yes I did! And thankfully another win of playlist books not letting me down!
Priscilla and Oliver started out as friends who turned into banter buddies and back into friends before it quickly slid into lovers. The spice on this book was medium but the tension was at an all time high. The amount of times I yelled for them to just kiss it out was at an all time high! They truly have the cutest love story. While creating the perfect proposal for their best friends they find their own love along the way. There was absolutely way too many miscommunications between these two but it really did make their story very unique. I enjoyed this laugh out loud cute rom-com with a splash of spice.

I thought this book was so cute!! I’m kinda starting to love Donna Marchetti because she always has such original stories and this was no exception🫶🏼 i loved the characters and their dynamics so much, it’s definitely worth the read! And also, it’s fast paced and not very long which i loved!🩷
This lovely book is coming out november 11! So excited to get my hands on it when it comes out, because let’s be honest the cover is soooo cute🤭
Thank you so much @netgalley and @donnamarchettiauthor for this amazing arc!🧡

thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for the copy 💕
this book was so good that it managed to get me back into kindle reading!! the whole idea of the plot was so cute and executed perfectly and had me smiling as well as on the edge of my seat in anticipation for what would happen next. I may be a little swayed since fake dating is one of my favourite tropes ever but Priscilla and Oliver are perfect and I absolutely love them and their relationship from how it started and how it developed through the book

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book by Donna Marchetti, a gorgeous slow burn enemies to fake dating to lovers. I love the tension between the two main characters whilst they plan the proposal of their best friends. Hooked on their relationship just felt the getting together chapter was a little rushed and the ending could have been not so abrupt. Definitely a go to author for me now though!
Thanks Net Galley for the ARC!

This book was to predictable for me ! Best friend plans proposal to her bf and the bfs best friend helps . Forced proximity , enemy’s to lovers

It's official, no one does enemies to lovers like Donna Marchetti 🥵
Whilst I found myself frustrated at the miscommunication/constant self doubt from Priscilla, I knew exactly what I was getting with this book and loved every second. I adored seeing her and Oliver's relationship develop throughout as they planned the wedding proposal, and Oliver was just a dreamy book boyfriend.
Also a shout out to Tina and Ryan - what a brilliant couple and even more brilliant friends, this dynamic of the four of them double dating really added another layer to the story for me!

ARC REVIEW:
3.75 rounded up; this was a really sweet story - loved the characters and the banter back and forth between the two MCs. I was slightly annoyed with the FMC’s “obsessive” insecurity aspect but overall it worked out. Oliver was an absolute gem.

Every once in a while a book comes along that gives you a genuine physical reaction to it that both makes me want to stop reading and makes it impossible to put the book down, this is the one.
The miscommunication trope, while maybe annoying to seem, felt very realistic internally (and by that I mean, I am also a mess who also makes assumptions and doesn't talk about her assumptions).
This is my first ARC in a while and it was exactly the breather I needed after a string of pretty dark or heavy books. A delightful, fun little romp!
10/10

I really enjoyed this book! I was looking for a book that was light and easy, with good writing. So often are rom coms written badly, with cringe and corny moments, but The Proposal Project was accessible and well written, and the perfect light read. I fell in love with Oliver and Priscilla, and I will definitely look out for more Donna Marchetti books.
Thanks NetGalley for this eArc.

✨Thank you to NetGalley and Donna’s team for this ARC✨
The BANTER?! The SLOW BURN?! *chefs kiss*
This was the perfect pick-me-up that I didn’t know I needed. I loved the fake dating and believed every bit of it. I honestly wish it was dual POV, just so I can see into Oliver’s mind.
I wish the book ended with some closure regarding her parents, but I’m so so happy with the epilogue. Will definitely recommend this book to my friends!

Priscilla has just been fired from an event planning company, so when her best friend Tina offers to pay her to plan the proposal, Priscilla accepts and decides to start her own company. Unbeknownst to her at the time, Tina’s boyfriend Ryan is also planning a proposal with the help of his best friend Oliver. Priscilla has been at odds with Oliver practically since they met. Though she had an initial attraction to him, he quickly turned her off with a rude comment in front of all their friends. Now, the two decide to team up to plan the extravagant proposal involving white horses, a flash mob, and skywriting, among other things. When they’re caught together, they decide to pretend they’re dating rather than spill the beans to Ryan and Tina about each other’s plans to propose. Naturally, through fake dating and forced proximity, the two end up falling for each other.
The Proposal Project is the perfect easy read escape when you need it. I absolutely blew through this book. Not only did I not want to put it down because of the chemistry between Priscilla and Oliver, but I also felt like it just read super quickly. I was sad with how quickly I was getting through the book, but that didn’t stop me from continuing. As I previously stated, the chemistry between the main characters is amazing, and watching their initial standoffishness melt away into a true friendship and then romance was enticing and fun. This book is steamy, lighthearted, and completely ridiculous at times (the proposal is truly absurd in its over-the-top-ness), and I had so much fun reading it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collin’s UK/One More Chapter for the ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All opinions are my own.
In order to keep their best friends' proposal a secret, Priscilla and Oliver agree to pretend they're dating. The Proposal Project is a sweet, light-hearted read, but personally, I found the miscommunications a bit frustrating as they felt unnatural. Additionally, I didn't connect with Priscilla's behavior, which came across as overly childish for my taste.
