Royal Intrigue is a great addition to Abramson’s Royal series! Princess Annabelle can’t wait to see her long time friend princess Tayla and help her plan her wedding. What she didn’t count on was being picked up at the docks by Tayla’s aloof older brother Prince Leo or that her and Leo would barely escape the meeting when a bomb is detonated.
Annabelle and Leo work together to try to figure who the target of the assassination attempt was and stopping them from trying again. Leo soon realizes that his younger sisters best friend isn’t so little or annoying anymore!
This is an action packed novel full of suspense and romance. I highly recommend it!

Very good addition to the romantic/suspense Royal series. Princess Annabelle of Sereno (a small Mediterranean country) arrives to help her long time best friend Princess Tayla begin making wedding plans. Annabelle’s two older sisters have their romances in Royal Heir (March 2020) and Royal Duty (Sept 2024) respectively. Tayla’s brother, Crown Prince Leonardo arrives at the dockyard to pick up Annabelle and the pair barely survive a bomb planted in her luggage. They are not sure who the intended target was, them or Tayla who should have been there instead of Leo. Security is tightened up and Annabelle and Leo spend a lot of time together trying to help identify potential threats to either of their two families.
My best friend's brother is a classic romance troupe and it works well here. As does the forced proximity of being stuck together on the palace grounds. I like that both MC’s understand the demands of being a working royal and the protocols and optics involved. There really isn’t a lot of getting to know you as they have known each other most of their lives. But they are still sweet as they assess their grown up feelings towards each other. There is more focus on the murder plot and who is behind it. I wasn’t surprised as there are not a lot of suspects but the story still gripped me as one danger ends and another begins.
This book can be read as a stand alone novel. But having read the other books in the series I was happy for the updates on Annabelle’s sisters lives. I know what I am getting with Abramson’s writing. Her stories are action packed and clean for language and intimacy. I am not sure if it is the timing of book releases or the author is writing more but this is the sixth new book I read from her in a calendar year. She does have multiple series ongoing.

I really liked reading this arc copy thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications. The latest in Abramson's Royal series is a worthy addition. The story features the youngest sister of the royals featured in the two books of the series previous to this one. It could be a stand alone but there's depth in knowing some of the characters from previous books. I had guessed at the source of the danger by halfway through the book but it was still interesting to see how it all came together at the end. This was an arc so there were a few editing problems in the plot but once those are ironed out this will be great.

I read this book in less than twenty-four hours. It was hard to put down.
This is book six in The Royals series.
Princess Annabelle is ready to help her best friend Princess Tayla with her wedding plans. What Annabelle didn't plan on was being greeted by her best friends brother, Prince Leo, and a detonated bomb in a suitcase that looked like Annabelle's. Leo and Annabelle have never gotten along, but they need to find out who the bomb was meant for and decide to work together to discover the person behind the bomb.
