Let me begin by saying “protective” Rafe is 🔥🔥🔥. I was fully with Tris in the opinion of it being sexy af for no good reason, as well as the arm thing! Those two are the enemies-to-lovers I like to see, even if it started off with the miscommunication trope in a way. They were rude to a fault to each other, but the second someone else says something negative about the other, the hackles immediately go up! Their burn was just the right amount of slow, like you could feel the tension crackling in the air between them. I also loved how he called her by both her full first name and last name, as if he was always fully aware of all she was as a person, even when they were arguing. The Scorpio in me also loveddddd seeing those arguments turned scalding almost every time, like sorry, were we trying to set off one of these volcanoes?! Also, him taking care of her through her migraines cured one of my own FULLY. Though I do wish we could've gotten a little more together-time with her friends and Rafe as they all fit together with zero build-up and no real background to make it make sense. I also called Andy being a low-key douche from the second he showed up on the page, and I wish he’d have gotten a little more comeuppance. Instead, she kind of brushed off his behavior as if everyone else acting horribly was too much for her to bother getting made at him as well. All in all, I love them and adored their epilogue and kindly request Lan and Gabrielle’s novella from the island immediately please! 4.75 out of 5 for me!

Overall, this was a romance book. It hit the major points, there was tension, there was sex, there was resolution. I did feel that the FMC’s “hang ups” got annoying quickly, as it did not feel like she was doing anything to change or grow, just repeating her issues. It was nice to have a South Asian woman yell at her white bosses, something I’m sure we all dream about.

I enjoyed this SO much! This combines some tasty tasty workplace tension and a tropical backdrop with a little side of kicking toxicity to the curb? Amazing! I thought the slow unraveling of what we thought was enemies was so much fun and added so much depth and layers to both characters. I was so happy with what Rafe and Tris overcame together!

There is something so inviting in Nisha J. Tuli’s writing. I felt like I knew who Trish and Rafe were from the moment they began eye-f#%ing over business meetings. What initially felt like a traditional enemies to lovers plot surprised me in the best way with all the little nuances that make this trope work so well. It’s clear from the beginning that Trishara is physically attracted to Rafe, but something about him just gets under her skin, so when a lengthy work trip forces her and Rafe to be in CLOSE quarters, there’s only one place for that tension to go. In the author’s note at the beginning, Tuli says this is a slowburn, and it is, but I never felt wanting because the chemistry, banter, and flirting, along with the expected time it takes two characters to actually get to know one another felt timed so perfectly. I’ll say this, just wait for Chapter 22 because once that heat hits, there’s no holding back. This had one of the hottest let’s-sneak-out-of-a-meeting-to-get-our-sexual-frustration-out moments I’ve ever read, and I loved the energy Trish and Rafe gave off.

The other part of this book that drew me in was the hyper-realistic look at what women in STEM careers have to deal with from racism to sexual harassment to superiority complexes. Tuli wrote a strong bad ass character like Trishara who unfortunately has to work with some misogynists, but doesn’t take it sitting down. She’s smart, excellent at her job, but in a career stalling position due to nepotism. So this is not just a romance but a story about an underdog who absolutely gets her HEA and the respect she ultimately deserves.

I received an ARC and an ALC from the publishers and enjoyed Soneela Nankani’s narration. She’s a new to me voice actor I would gladly listen to again as she could easily float between male and female led chapters. All opinions are my own.

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5
Steam: 🪭🪭🪭 (Rafe knows what’s up!)
STEM element: 🧪🧪🧪🧪
Ex-girlfriend downer: 📉

This was such a fun workplace romance with a tropical twist! It was entertaining, thoughtful, funny and steamy- everything I want in my romances!

The FMC, Trishara, was so relatable, and I loved that this story highlighted the experiences of women, especially women of color, in male dominated fields. I got such a kick out of her banter and snarky comments, it added so much fun to the rivalry with the MMC. There was also such great tension and anticipation. It was an *almost* unbearable slow burn that was worth the wait.

I really liked the pacing, the character depth and development, and the progression of the story. It had a really nice balance of quick wit and adventure with some softer, more emotional elements. I loved getting to peel back the layers on who Rafe is and watch Tris find her fire.

The only thing keeping this from a 5 star for me, was I would have loved to have gone even deeper on some parts- to build up more of an emotional investment, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it as is!

I can’t wait for anything else written by Nisha! She is such a powerhouse! Thank you to Nisha and Forever for an ARC!

I LOVED this book! I went into it just from seeing the hot cover and it was a “read now” option on NetGalley and I WAS NOT disappointed! Tris and Rafe are the epitome of a workplace enemies to lovers romance, and it’s going to be one of my favorite reads of the year! The chemistry and banter and spice was EVERYTHING I wanted and more!

if anyone needs a workplace/vacation romance to spice up your TBR, this has GOT to be it!

Thank you to Forever Publishing and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Forever for the eARC!!

Nisha is a new to me author and this is the first book I’ve read by her! I saw some character art that convinced me I had to see what it was about (iykyk).

I enjoyed the beginning of this, but it lost me a little bit in the second half. I’m a big fan of enemies to lovers and don’t shy away from a workplace romance, both things I enjoyed about this!! Both our main characters had a lot going for them.

I didn’t love how the story ultimately unfolded. It seemed a little too crazy/farfetched for my taste but I know others won’t mind it a bit!! I also felt like some tidbits felt underdeveloped, like the chronic migraines for example.

I’m eager to read Nisha’s fantasy series soon!!

Trishara & Rafe have been work rivals for years. So when they get chosen for a leadership retreat in Maui, what could go wrong?

Three weeks is a long time to be stuck with your arch nemesis, especially when you are forced to work - & sleep- together.

Putting differences aside, the two begin to quickly realize they might not hate each other after all.

What to expect:
🏝️ workplace romance
🛌 rivals to lovers
🏝️ close proximity
🛌 one bed
🏝️ spicy

Thoughts:
One of the best rom-coms I’ve read in such a long time! I laughed so hard throughout the entire book. It was also great to read a baddie FMC who did the right thing even when it sucked.

Not Safe for Work is the first work of Nisha J. Tuli that I have read, but I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!

Trishara is an engineer that is struggling with her place at the company she works for WMC. She has been passed over for promotions not because she is not qualified, but because she is not a man. She is chosen for a retreat that will last for three weeks in Maui where she'll have the opportunity to learn and connect with others from the company who are located across the country. The only downside to the trip is that Rafe, the son of the CEO, has also been chosen to go and she and Rafe have never really gotten along. To make matters even more complicated, the two have to share a room for the entire trip.

As Tris and Rafe begin to learn more and more about one another, they realize that maybe they hadn't seen all sides of the other person. Things begin to change between them and there are some pretty heated moments. Their chemistry was strong and the banter was fantastic. The question is, is this just for the duration of the trip, or is there more to this between them?

I really enjoyed how this entire story played out. There were so many times I smiled or laughed, but also times that I cringed due to the way Tris was being treated. I did feel like the challenges Tris was dealing with were presented and handled very well.

This was a quick read for me and I would absolutely pick up another title by this author.

this was a very quick, easy romance read. I didn't feel too invested in the story but I think it is a good beach read. I am just not a STEM/business girl so I think others will love it more than I did!

I did really love the ending

Not Safe for Work is a sweet workplace romance, even though they’re actually on a work retreat in Hawaii. Rivals to lovers, even though we don’t actually see much of that. I enjoyed the FMC journey on standing up for herself in the workplace. I would’ve liked more from the resolution between the main characters at the end but overall this was a fun read!

This book was a fun romcom read with enemies to lovers and forced proximity. I loved the concept on going on a tropical company retreat. Both characters were so sweet and interesting. I really liked their dynamic. I also liked that the book touched on important issues that women face in the male dominated corporate industry. I love how our FMC did not accept that and did something about it!

Not Safe for Work comes out May 20.

A sassy and fun rom com set in a tropical destination that is the perfect read for your next vacation 😎

Trishara is one of the few women at her engineering firm & she is a woman of color, so she has battled micro-aggression and sexism/racism her whole career as she has worked hard for promotions.

Rafe is her office nemesis. . . and also the boss' son.

The pair find themselves selected to attend their companies retreat in a gorgeous tropical location. . . with forced proximity the sparks between the pair soon fly despite their dislike for each other 🤣 I found myself laughing often and absolutely falling in love with Tris & Rafe in this fun rom com that was full of sexy tension and spice (🔥🔥🔥🔥/5).

Thank you Forever and Hachette Audio for the advanced copy.

I so enjoyed Not Safe for Work! Trishara has spent the last 5 years working at a company that was never part of the plan. After an awful breakup she couldn’t break back into the industry she wanted to work in and she no longer trusts men in relationships. From nearly the beginning though she noticed her boss’ son, Rafe. The problem? Tris has sworn off dating men in the office. And she hates Rafe. Totally. The two have always sparred back and forth and are adversaries at work.

Things get interesting when Tris and Rafe are both selected for a three week training initiative in Hawai’i. Tris realizes very quickly that she was chosen to check off the diversity box and while she’s irritated she decides she’s going to make the most of it. Only to her horror, every benefit she wrangled for herself now somehow involves Rafe.

The two are stuck in the same hotel suite and somehow keep ending up in group activities with each other. The longer they’re together the more Tris realizes that maybe Rafe isn’t as bad as she thought he was. The two get closer as the story goes on and realize maybe they’d rather be with each other than be at each other’s throats.

I really enjoyed this whole story and will definitely be reading it again. I loved Tris and Rafe growing as people. I also really appreciated the migraine representation. I’ve struggled with migraines and cervicogenic headaches since I was at least 11 and it was nice to see someone in a novel having them in a realistic way.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Ok so I first heard about this book at Romantasy BookCon LA and it spoke so much to me. I spoke with Nisha at the con about how hard living with chronic migraines is, she even had to take a break one day of the event due to a migraine. So many people live with chronic pain and I really was intrigued to see how that could be translated into an aspect of a character.

This book also highlighted a common theme for women in STEM and corporate nepotism. Our FMC Trishara is brilliant, a problem solver, and should be further along in her career, but as woman of color in a "man's world" of engineering is not always awarded opportunities based on merit. We see a lot of her struggles in her professional life that reinforces the norms we frequently hear about.

Now our MMC, where not everything is as it seems, is the boss' son. When both Trishara and Rafe get selected to attend a corporate retreat in Hawaii, a series of little planning mishaps turn our rivals into something more. Trishara and Rafe's journey is comedic, tense, and competitive. We see a lot of growth in them as individuals and eventually as partners, but waiting for that end pay off is what will keep you on your toes through this whole story.

Nisha is magical writer and I love the way her story flows. There is so much angst between our characters and she really gives the write just enough to read between the lines of what goes on in her characters thoughts and actions.

This book hit so many wonderful points and was a joy to read. Definitely gave me the tropical feels. If you love romance and also like the incorporation of aspects of todays world and society, you definitely want to pick this up.

Nisha J Tuli’s first contemporary romance and it was great! We love a forced proximity between workplace rivals who have actually always liked each other but it turned into banter and competition. This feels like a combo The Hating Game and The Paradise Problem and I really enjoyed it! As someone who has worked in an office in a male-dominated field - I feel this.

Read this if you’re on the mood for…
- workplace rivals
- it was always you
- banter
- forced proximity
- one bed
- drama with his ex (no cheating)

I read this SO fast. The banter makes it so easy and fun to read and you’re itching for them to give in the entire time. Sometimes the plot felt a little rushed but overall it fit the characters well and I’m glad we got a look into the future to round out the story.

Here are a few of my favorite things…
- the reference to trial of the Sun Queen was perfectly timed lol
- he bakes? Immediately yes.
- it’s so obvious how much he likes her and I wish we got his pov!

Overall I enjoyed and will recommend for a workplace romance!

DNF 9% in.

Thank you to Forever for providing me with an arc.

I wanted to love this and at first I did but very quickly the writing started to fall flat. It felt like Trish both had an insane amount of self esteem and none all at the same time, she has stayed at this same job for 5 years and has been passed over repeatedly for promotions which is a very real experience but I don’t know why she wouldn’t have at least looked for a different job in that time, it seems like she is so committed to proving that she can change this company’s views that she hasn’t even thought of finding a different better job that would see her skills. The rivalry between her and Rafe felt very bland and didn’t captivate me when we were already seeing signs that he cares for her in chapter 2. I really wanted to love this because I wanted to read about the struggles of a bipoc woman in stem because I feel like it isn’t addressed enough but this one didn’t work for me.

It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Nisha’s work and I was super excited to be able to read and listen to the book early!
NSFW overall is a super easy and quick read. I think it’s the perfect summer romance to bring along on vacation!

I giggled, gasped and SCREAMED through this entire book. NSFW is full of sarcasm from Tris fueled by every bit of feminine rage and racial discrimination and I am here for it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tris is the culmination of every woman who’s been told they’re too much, too loud, too whatever and stayed loud and bold anyway. Honestly, I’m so stoked at the balance of h0rny and fighting inequity that Tris holds. 💅🏻

Not Safe For Work is an amazing contemporary romance that touches on some important topics & I could not recommend this book enough!!

Trish is so freaking badass - period. She is selected to join a group of selected others, including her office enemy, in Hawaii for further training and a possible leadership opportunity with her company. Right away Trish knows something is up and asks her superiors about it. She’s a woman of color working in a man’s world and knows when something might be fishy.

Rafe is our yummy office enemy of Trish’s. Their arguments are basically foreplay and it’s hot. He knows the company he works for & his dad sits on the board for is f-ed up in many ways… starting with the moment they chose him over Trish for a promotion.

One shared bedroom later, hhehehehe thanks Belinda, and these office enemies are waving white flags asap. Lines are blurred, Rafe gets jealous, dirty talk is mentioned, and Trish falls in love.

Thank you so much Nisha and Forever Publishing for this e-arc!
