This book is the perfect beach read. Tris, an engineer, has been with her company and denied promotion after promotion, likely because she’s not a white man. But then she’s sent as one of two branch reps to the company retreat in Hawaii for three weeks. The other rep? Rage, the boss’ son and her nemesis.

When they get to Hawaii, Tris discovers she and Rafe have been booked into the Honeymoon suite and no other rooms are available. Sparks fly at the company retreat and Tris and Rafe get to decide once and for all what they really want and if it is each other.

Love the focus on equity and the spotlight put on micro aggressions. A three week retreat with very little on the agenda at the company’s expense feels very contrived. But fun to read nonetheless.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for an early copy of this book! 😊 I give this a solid 4.5 ⭐️
This was a really great enemies to lovers, workplace rivals, and forced proximity romcom. I really loved these characters and this had the perfect amount of romance mixed with plot for me. Only docking this in rating because there were a few too many descriptions that were the same (we get it.. homeboy has abs and muscles 😂) and sometimes I thought the characters were a little immature. This was a solid romcom (and I’m picky with this genre) and I would definitely recommend to romance lovers.

Adorable, spicy, and definitely not safe for work! I’ve read Nisha Tuli’s fantasy series and really enjoyed them. This departure into the realm of romance was done so well. I loved Trishara and Rafe. Enemies from work, sent on a company retreat, forced to share a room. What could go wrong?!
I loved how the relationship progressed and how it changed.

Only unanswered question - Trishara’s migraines. They came up quite often but there was no solution/reason so was just left hanging as a plot point.

A fun summer Rom-com! A little bit of other woman drama but no cheating. Could have done without the miscommunication but where would the drama come from if not poor communication. The banter is great. The antics fun. The main characters likable. I recommend as a fun light read!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was a solid 4 stars and a very enjoyable read. I have read some of Nisha’s romantasy books and they are some of my favorites, so I just knew I needed to read this book to see what she does in contemporary romance and boy oh boy, did she deliver! I love reading a good book about a woman (especially BIPOC) in STEM who overcomes microaggressions, and pushes herself head first into the misogynistic career field of Engineering and tolerates way more than she should for over five years, as she is consistently passed over for opportunities to her lesser qualified, white, male counterparts.

This is a workplace, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, one-bed romance, and I absolutely gobbled this up. Trishara and Rafe’s banter was top tier and kept me laughing throughout the entire book. This one is a SLOWWWWWWWW burn. The romance itself did not really even pick up until at least 70% into the book, so just keep that in mind if that’s not your thing. For me? I LOVED it.

I cannot wait to see if Nisha writes more of this type of romance book because she definitely hit the mark!

Tris - so justifiably jaded by five years of struggling against nepotism and boys club office politics - is almost disbelieving when chosen for a leadership retreat in Maui
Less surprising is the company’s other choice, annoyingly attractive and more importantly the boss’s son Rafe

What follows is an enemies to lovers romp set in paradise, only one bed trope and all
The burn is slow, but the tension just keeps building and it ends up smoking hot - no complaints here!
If I were to compare it to another book, there are Hating Game vibes but I enjoyed the character development in this book even more.

I loved Rafe’s secret passion and was so there for Tris and her bridge burning moment
The wrap up in the epilogue was perfect

Thank you to Forever for the arc!

Nisha J. Tuli has done it again! As a huge fan of her Trials of Ouranos series (truly one of my all-time favorite romantasy series—the world-building and imagery are next-level), I wasn’t sure what to expect from her jump into contemporary romance. But Not Safe for Work was SO much fun to read, even while addressing series issues for women in the workplace.

Nisha brings the same vivid, beautiful writing to this genre, with stunning attention to detail that makes every scene feel alive—whether it’s the sharp, laugh-out-loud banter or the simmering tension between the leads. The slow burn is perfectly paced, the chemistry electric, and the humor spot on. She’s proven she can masterfully shift between genres while keeping everything that makes her stories so compelling intact.

This book is flirty, heartfelt, and completely addictive. If you love smart workplace romances with true depth, humor, and swoon-worthy moments, Not Safe for Work needs to be on your shelf ASAP! Another hit from an author who never misses!

Nisha Can Do No Wrong!

There is literally nothing Nisha can write that I won’t fall in love with. She absolutely killed it with her Romantasy books, and now she’s done it again with this romcom!

This story was such a fun, swoony read. It had all the tropes I adore: workplace romance, enemies to lovers, single POV, one bed, and forced proximity—yes, please! The slow burn was real, packed with delicious angst and banter that had me grinning (and sometimes screaming) the whole time.

If you’re looking for your next romance fix with the perfect mix of heat, heart, and humor, this one’s it.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After reading Nisha, fantasy series I was really excited to read her debut rom-com novel. I downloaded this purely based on her and the cover. I actually had no idea what this one was going to be about. We follow Tris and Rafe who are co workers that do not get a long. He is the bosses son and she is someone that feels like she has been passed over for multiple promotions so there is some animosity there amongst the two of them. After getting selected to represent the company in a leadership retreat the jet off to Hawaii for some fun in the sun and work related activities. This was a fun read and I did listen to the audio in one sitting. I love the female representation in the workplace of a man dominated field. I thought that Tris and Rafe had good chemistry and the slow burn was good!. However, I just feel like I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I never really felt like I was rooting for either one of them.

Overall, I did enjoy the story and it was a great debut novel in this genre.

Not Safe for Work is a delightful blend of slow-burn romance, sharp wit, and meaningful commentary on workplace dynamics. Trishara Malik, a determined engineer navigating a male-dominated field, finds herself entangled with her workplace rival, Rafe, during a high-stakes company retreat in Hawaii. Their forced proximity leads to electric chemistry and heartfelt moments that keep the pages turning. Tuli masterfully weaves in themes of gender and racial inequality, making this not just a steamy read but also a poignant one. Fans of the rivals-to-lovers trope and strong female leads will find this novel both entertaining and empowering.

I started this book after work and physically could not put it down until I finished it.
🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tris is an engineer struggling to compete in a male dominated career field, and she believes her nemesis is just like the rest of them. When Rafe, her boss’s annoyingly hot son, is selected to attend the company’s first leadership retreat, no one is surprised. What is surprising though is that Tris is selected too, and three weeks in Hawaii with Rafe?? 👏🏻👏🏻
Tris’s inner monoglot is throughout this book is HILARIOUS, I was genuinely laughing out loud 😂 The obsession this girl has with Rafe is next level! Nisha does an incredible job of showing how women are treated in corporate America, and even more so in the STEM world. Sadly, some of the things she included have actually happened to me in real life and MANY it made this book so relatable! I DEVOURED this book, I was lucky enough to listen AND read this ARC and Soneela Nankani did an incredible job narrating. The emotion she brings to these characters brought the story to life, it was so easy to listen to. I highly recommend this book, it releases May 20th and it’s got some top tier tropes:

🌴 One bed!!!!
🌴 Forced proximity
🌴 Rivals to lovers

I love this book. The cover, the premise, the pay off...all perfection. This book had Ali Hazelwood energy and unique, diverse characters. Tris is a bit pretentious at times, but I think that makes sense trying to make her way in a male-dominated field. Rafe is everything. I loved them together and need like 6 epilogues please.

Not Safe For Work
By Nisha J Tuli
Narrated by Soneela Nankani
4.5 ⭐️

I really enjoyed this workplace romance. I found it to be cozy, sweet, witty, and refreshingly honest. I LOVED the tension, banter, and Tuli-themed Easter eggs. Tuli is already a favorite author of mine and this further solidifies that. I throughly enjoyed this.

I do recommend this one as an audiobook. The audio narration was superbly executed. Characters were depicted so extremely well that the voice given to them pulled beyond the page. Seriously well done all around on this audiobook.

Thank you NetGalley, Nisha Tuli, Forever Pub, and Hachette Audio for an eARC and audiobook ARC of this witty and entertaining read! 🍰

Thank you Grand Central Publishing and Nisha J Tuli for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
If you love enemies to lovers plus one bed tropes plus witty banter all set in beautiful Hawaii on a business retreat, this is the book for you!
Nisha killed it with this rom-com. I’ve read her Artifacts of Ouranos series and fell in love with them so I was iffy on how well she could write a rom-com and man did she prove me wrong!
I loved the story line and women empowerment and sticking it to men who think they need to put women in their place.
5 stars all the way around!

Trishara and Rafe’s story from workplace enemies to friends to lovers was so fun! The setting of the corporate retreat gave it a vacation vibe mixed with work, and I think that really added to the developing relationship on the page. Rafe was so sweet and had so many moments on the page where he stood up for or cared for Trishara with no questions asked, and seeing those from Trishara’s POV was truly the best. The ending was great and really tied everyone’s character arcs, and the relationship, together so well!

Thank you to Forever Publishing for an early copy!

I don't know if it's because I don't read much contemporary romance, but this felt... kind of flat? I was really excited to read a book by an Indian American author featuring an Indian American FMC, and I thought the exploration of sexism and racism in the workplace was great. The romance was definitely the main focus of this book (which makes sense), but the shift from rivals to friends with benefits to lovers felt really rushed. There were definitely cute moments, and I liked the "twist" about the MMC's true interests/goals, but I think I just wanted it to be better paced. Overall an inoffensive read, but I don't think I would pick it up again.

I love me a good enemies to lovers. This book had the best of love, hate, connection. This book had it all from the love to the drama to rivalry. It was definitely a book that I could not stop reading. I throughly enjoyed it.

I was in a major, jet-lag induced reading slump, and the utter delight of Nisha J. Tuli's Not Safe For Work broke me right out of it. The book was sweet, bubbly and steamy in all the right places and a joy to read. I hope this isn't the last contemporary romance we see from Tuli!

Nisha J. Tuli wrote one of my favorite romantasy series, so I was thrilled to receive both an ARC and audio ARC of her latest book. This marks her first foray into contemporary romance—and she absolutely knocked it out of the park.

The story follows two STEM workplace rivals sent on an all-expenses-paid conference trip to Hawaii… and of course, there’s a hotel room shortage. Heck yes! Throw in sharp banter, simmering tension, and I was hooked. The book also did a great job weaving in thoughtful moments about misogyny and microaggressions in the workplace. The pacing hit the sweet spot for a workplace romance. It was engaging without ever dragging.

The main characters were well-developed, but I would have loved a bit more backstory on their work relationship. For a five-year history, it felt like we were dropped in midstream without enough context. A little more depth there would’ve made their romantic progression even more believable. Also, the MMC’s side gig felt a bit out of left field. It leaned too heavily on the influencer angle, when the actual skill behind it deserved more attention.

As for the audio version: the narrator was excellent! She was engaging, with great intonation and character voice work. I did find her pace a little slow, but she was perfect at 1.8x speed.

Thank you NetGalley and Forever for the DRC and audio galley of this book. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book, it's different from the majority of books that I read, and it was a good cleanse. The style of writing is really good, and easy to follow along with, (a few big words that I had to look up to a few words to fully understand, but this did not take anything away from the book).

What I liked about this book was the way that the characters' growth is so clear and bright, the way they battle their own demons, but also open up to each about these issues and they then end up helping each other be able to be their true selves, its a really good enemies to lovers trope. I don't want to give any spoilers, but after about 56% of the book is where I fell in love with this book the most.

The way that Nisha J. Tuli was able to capture the work industry and it's not just within offices that there are these issues, it's in a lot of industries, but i love the way that Nisha got the MC to stand up to this and not accept it like everyone is expected to just warms my heart on this. The way this subject was captured in this book is amazing, it doesn't darken the book in any way, but it also brings to light what it is like. And what kind of strength it takes to overcome these challenges
